I evaluated whether plants gain high dispersal success by synchronizing their fruiting with frugivore abundance. Fruiting phenologies, seasonal fluctuations in the abundance of frugivorous birds, and consumption of fruits by birds and Japanese macaques, Macaca fuscata Blyth, were studied in the montane forest of Yakushima for two years. At the community level, fruiting phenologies and seasonal fluctuations in frugivorous bird abundance were asynchronous because Zosterops japonica Temminck et Schlegel, a resident frugivore, decreased in number during the fruiting season. In addition, Symplocos myrtacea Sieb. et Zucc. fruited in September, before the migration of frugivorous birds (Turdus spp. and brown-eared bulbuls Hypsypetes amaurotis Temminck) in November and December. The phenology of other fruit species (Eurya japonica Thunb. and Cleyera japonica Thunb.p.p.emend. Sieb. et Zucc) were synchronized with migrant frugivorous birds. Fruit species with phenologies that are synchronized with migrant frugivore abundances have higher dispersal success either by birds (C. japonica) or macaques (E. japonica). Macaques predated most of the seeds of S. myrtacea. Dispersal success of S. myrtacea is low both by birds and macaques, thus the early fruiting by S. myrtacea does not seem to be an adaptation to maximize dispersal success by depending on resident dispersers or by avoiding intense competition for dispersers.  相似文献

为选育高产子实体和虫草菌素的蛹虫草菌株,从野生蛹虫草中分离单孢子并进行分型,之后进行产子实体实验;同时对蛹虫草子实体进行了产孢结构的观察,并用高效液相色谱仪检测了子实体和培养基中的虫草菌素。结果表明,菌落背面颜色为橙铬色的菌株容易产生子实体;出发(原代)菌株所产子实体在形态上更接近野生蛹虫草,而角变株的子实体畸形;出发菌株产子实体能力要比该菌株未发生角变部分分离株和角变部分分离株都强。在虫草菌素的产量上也以出发菌株为高,表明表型多态性对蛹虫草产子实体和虫草菌素有很大的影响。这对于优势菌种的筛选和生产实践有借鉴意义。  相似文献

The protein-bound polysaccharides of Coriolus versicolor (CPS) have been reported to stimulate overall immune functions against cancers and various infectious diseases by activating specific cell functions. A New Zealand isolate (Wr-74) and a patented strain (ATCC-20545) of C. versicolor were compared in this study. The fruit bodies of both strains were grown for visual verification. Both strains were grown in submerged-culture using an airlift fermentor with milk permeate as the base medium supplemented with glucose, yeast extract and salt. Metabolic profiles of both strains obtained over 7-day fermentation showed very similar trends in terms of biomass production (8.9–10.6 mg/ml), amounts of extracellular polysaccharide (EPS) from the culture medium (1150–1132 μg/ml), and intracellular polysaccharide (IPS) from the mycelium (80–100 μg/ml). Glucose was the dominant sugar in both EPS and IPS, and the polymers each consisted of three molecular weight fractions ranging from 2 × 106 to 3 × 103 Da. Both the EPS and IPS were able to significantly induce cytokine production (interleukin 12 and γ interferon) in murine splenocytes in vitro. Highest levels of interleukin 12 (291 pg/ml) and γ interferon (6,159 pg/ml) were obtained from samples containing Wr-74 IPS (0.06 μg/ml) and ATCC 20545 IPS (0.1 μg/ml), respectively. The results indicated that lower levels of EPS and IPS generally resulted in higher immune responses than did higher polymer concentrations.  相似文献

Five new benzenoids, benzocamphorins A-E (1-5), and 10 recently isolated triterpenoids, camphoratins A-J (16-25), together with 23 known compounds including seven benzenoids (6-12), three lignans (13-15), and 13 triterpenoids (26-38) were isolated from the fruiting body of Taiwanofungus camphoratus. Their structures were established by spectroscopic analysis. Selected compounds were examined for cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory activities. Compounds 9 and 21 showed moderate cytotoxicity against MCF-7 and Hep2 cell lines with ED50 values of 3.4 and 3.0 ??g/mL, respectively. Compounds 21, 25, 26, 29-31, 33, and 36 demonstrated potent anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced nitric oxide (NO) production with IC50 values of 2.5, 1.6, 3.6, 0.6, 4.1, 4.2, 2.5, and 1.5 ??M, respectively, which were better than those of the nonspecific nitric oxide synthase (NOS) inhibitor N-nitro-l-arginine methyl ester (l-NAME) (IC50: 25.8 ??M). These results may substantiate the use of T. camphoratus in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for the treatment of inflammation and cancer-related diseases. The newly discovered compounds deserve further development as anti-inflammatory candidates.  相似文献

报道了采自云南西北部的5种野生报春(灰岩皱叶报春Primula forrestii Franck,海仙花P,poissonii Franck,橘红灯台报春P.bulleyanan Forr.,偏花报春P.secundiflora Franch和钟花报春P.sikkimensis Hook)的引种驯化研究。将采自不同地方,不同气候以及不同生态环境下的种子,通过在不同控制条件下包括基质、温度、光照等“从种子到种子”整个过程的实验观察,得出结果如下:(1)虽然每个种的种子在不同的基质中萌发率参差不齐,但所有种子在昆明栽培条件下都有高的萌发适应性。(2)虽然它们的开花时间不同(海仙花和偏花报春除外),但所有从播种获得的植株要10—16个月才能开花,与野生报春相比栽培的报春花花期提前2—3个月,灰岩皱叶报春还出现了重瓣花。(3)苗圃的报春花结实率比在野生状态下的低,人工授粉后座果率有所提高。  相似文献

分析了我国海南和广东、秦岭、东北等不同森林气候区木本植物开花、结果物候以及果实和种子大小分布的规律。三个区系的开花、结果物候和种子、果实大小分布,都有类似的格局。但随着纬度的升高,一年中植物开花和结果的时间更加集中,海南和广东整年都有木本植物开花,秦岭有10个月左右,而东北仅有7个月。并且随着纬度升高,开花高峰的时间较迟,而结果高峰的时间较早。在海南和广东,热带区系成分和温带区系成分的木本植物,一年中开花和结果物候格局是很一致的。三个区系木本植物的果实和种子大小分布的格局也是很相似的,但海南和广东植物果实和种子大小范围较大,较多样,随着纬度升高,果实和种子大小范围变小,较单调。三个区系木本植物最小的果实的大小都差不多,为0.1cm,但最小的种子的大小却很不相同,随着纬度的升高而增大,开花和结果物候与月均气温及降水量的相关性因不同的区系而不同.鼎湖山常见木本植物果熟期和气候因子的相关性比结果期更显著。  相似文献

A beta-D-glucan, Ab2-2N, was isolated from the hot-water extract of fruiting bodies of Agaricus blazei Murr by ethanol precipitation, anion-exchange and gel-permeation chromatography. Its structure was investigated by composition analysis, methylation analysis, Smith degradation, mild hydrolysis, and NMR spectroscopy. It contains a (1-->6)-linked beta-D-glucopyranosyl backbone, with one side chain consisting of terminal and 3-substituted beta-D-glucopyranosyl residues attached at O-3 for every three backbone residues.  相似文献

The phenology of tree components of natural forests occurring between 350 and 2150 m in Kumaun Himalaya is descibed. All forests had more evergreen than deciduous taxa. The degree of evergreenness increased with increasing elevation and decreasing summer dryness. For most species (including all dominants) concentrated leafdrop and simultaneous leafing occurred during the warm-dry period of the year. About half of the species showed multiple leafing.All species had a sharp flowering peak in April. Wet-season flowering was rare. Most of the species flowered synchronously. In the sal- (Shorea robusta) and pine (Pinus roxburghii) forests a single peak of fruit maturation occurred in summer, while in other forests there also was a secondary peak in autumn.Nomenclature generally follows Osmaston (1926), the authority is given where the species is mentioned first.Financial support from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, is grategully acknowledged. Hypsizygus marmoreus is an important commercial edible fungus, but the lack of basic studies on this fungus has hindered further development of its commercial value. In this study, we found that the treatment of damaged vegetative mycelia with 1 mM l-ascorbic acid (ASA) significantly increased the antioxidant enzyme activities (GPX, GR, CAT and SOD) and antioxidant contents (GSH and ASA) and reduced the ROS levels (H2O2 and O2-) in mechanically damaged mycelia. Additionally, this treatment increased mycelial biomass. At the reproductive stage, our results demonstrated that the treatment of damaged H. marmoreus mycelia with 2.24 mM ASA significantly increased the antioxidant enzyme activities (GPX, GR, GST, TRXR and CAT), endogenous ASA contents and GSH/GSSG ratios in different developmental stages and significantly decreased the MDA and H2O2 contents. Furthermore, this study showed that the expression levels of the antioxidant enzyme genes were consistent with the enzyme activities. Damaged mycelia treated with ASA regenerated 2–3 d earlier than the control group and showed significantly enhanced fruiting body production. These results suggested that exogenous ASA regulated mycelia intracellular ASA content to increase mycelial antioxidant abilities, induce the regeneration of damaged mycelia and regulate the development of fruiting bodies in H. marmoreus.  相似文献
