The blend miscibility of cellulose propionate (CP) with poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone-co-methyl methacrylate) (P(VP-co-MMA)) was investigated. The degree of substitution (DS) of CP used ranged from 1.6 to >2.9, and samples for the vinyl polymer component were prepared in a full range of VP:MMA compositions. Through DSC analysis and solid-state 13C NMR and FT-IR measurements, we revealed that CPs of DS < 2.7 were miscible with P(VP-co-MMA)s of VP ≥ ∼10 mol% on a scale within a few nanometers, in virtue of hydrogen-bonding interactions between CP-hydroxyls and VP-carbonyls. When the DS of CP exceeded 2.7, the miscibility was restricted to the polymer pairs using P(VP-co-MMA)s of VP = ca. 10–40 mol%; the scale of mixing in the blends concerned was somewhat larger (ca. 5–20 nm), however. The appearance of such a “miscibility window” was interpretable as an effect of intramolecular repulsion in the copolymer component. Results of DMA and birefringence measurements indicated that the miscible blending of CP with the vinyl polymer invited synergistic improvements in thermomechanical and optical properties of the respective constituent polymers. Additionally, it was found that the VP:MMA composition range corresponding to the miscibility window was expanded by modification of the CP component into cellulose acetate propionate.  相似文献

Films consisting of a blend of a chitosan hydrogel and a conductive polymer, polyaniline (PANI), were prepared and characterized for their electrical and mechanical properties. Polyaniline in emeraldine base (EB) form was dispersed in chitosan solution and blend films were obtained by solution casting. The PANI particles in the blend films were then doped with HCl where we observed reductions in the film tensile strength and Young's modulus by about 30%, but the films electrical conductivity increased by 6 orders of magnitude. The highest electrical conductivity of the blend films was of the order 10−4 S/cm. The electrical and mechanical properties of the films varied with polyaniline content, acid dopant type, acid dopant concentration, and doping time.  相似文献

Pheromone-source orientation behavior can be modified by coexisting plant volatiles. Some host plant volatiles enhance the pheromonal responses of olfactory receptor neurons and increase the sensitivity of orientation behavior in the Lepidoptera species. Although many electrophysiological studies have focused on the pheromonal response of olfactory interneurons, the response to the mixture of pheromone and plant odor is not yet known. Using the silkmoth, Bombyx mori, we investigated the physiology of interneurons in the antennal lobe (AL), the primary olfactory center in the insect brain, in response to a mixture of the primary pheromone component bombykol and cis-3-hexen-1-ol, a mulberry leaf volatile. Application of the mixture enhanced the pheromonal responses of projection neurons innervating the macroglomerular complex in the AL. In contrast, the mixture of pheromone and cis-3-hexen-1-ol had little influence on the responses of projection neurons innervating the ordinary glomeruli whereas other plant odors dynamically modified the response. Together this suggests moths can process plant odor information under conditions of simultaneous exposure to sex pheromone.  相似文献

采用静态实验遴选不同种硅藻土,进而研究其与常用混凝剂的最佳组合及复配比,考察其中几种复配剂在一定条件对城市污水的处理效果。实验结果表明:硅藻土和混凝剂组成的复配剂具有强化混凝作用;氯化铝、硫酸亚铁和高分子絮凝剂与硅藻土分别在1:9,1:11,和1:9的配比时制备复配剂处理生活污水的效果最佳。  相似文献

Edible films based on carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and soy protein isolate (SPI), compatibilized by glycerol, were prepared by solution casting. The effects of CMC content on blend structure, thermal stability, water solubility and water sorption, and mechanical properties were systematically investigated. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra showed that Maillard reactions occurred between CMC and SPI, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) scans indicated that the Maillard reactions greatly reduced the crystallinity of SPI. According to differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis, CMC/SPI blends had a single glass transition temperature (Tg) between 75 and 100 °C, indicating that CMC and SPI form one phase blends. Increasing the CMC content improved the mechanical properties and reduced the water sensitivity of blend films. The results indicate that the structure and properties of SPI edible films were modified and improved by blending with CMC.  相似文献

Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) blends are edible polymer films used for food packing and directly in foodstuffs. However they are water-soluble in ordinary temperature and have good mechanical properties. The miscibility of HPMC/PVA blend in water was studied by viscosity, ultrasonic velocity, density and refractive index techniques at 30 and 50 °C. Using viscosity data, the interaction parameters μ and α were calculated. These values revealed that HPMC/PVA blend is miscible when the HPMC content is more than 60% in the blend at 30 and 50 °C. And also the result revealed that the change in temperature has no significant effect on the miscibility of HPMC/PVA polymer blend.  相似文献

Electrospinning of chitin/silk fibroin (SF) blend solutions in 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propanol (HFIP) was investigated to fabricate a biomimetic nanostructured scaffolds for tissue engineering. The morphology of the electrospun chitin/SF blend nanofibers was investigated with a field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). The average diameters of chitin/SF blend fibers decreased from 920 to 340 nm, with the increase of chitin content in blend compositions. The miscibility of chitin/SF blend fibers was examined by solution viscosity measurement. The chitin and SF were immiscible in the as-spun nanofibrous structure. The dimensional stability of chitin/SF blend nanofibers, with or without water vapor after-treatment, was conducted by immersing in water. As-spun SF-rich blend nanofibrous matrices were lost their fibrous structure after the water immersion for 24 h, and then changed into membrane-like structure. On the contrary, nanofibrous structures of water vapor-treated SF-rich blends were almost maintained. To assay the cytocompatibility and cell behavior on the chitin/SF blend nanofibrous scaffolds, cell attachment and spreading of normal human epidermal keratinocyte and fibroblasts seeded on the scaffolds were studied. Our results indicate that chitin/SF blend nanofibrous matrix, particularly the one that contained 75% chitin and 25% SF, could be a potential candidate for tissue engineering scaffolds because it has both biomimetic three-dimensional structure and an excellent cell attachment and spreading for NHEK and NHEF.  相似文献

Volatile plant secondary metabolites are detected by the highly sensitive olfactory system employed by insects to locate suitable plants as hosts and to avoid unsuitable hosts. Perception of these compounds depends on olfactory receptor neurones (ORNs) in sensillae, mostly on the insect antennae, which can recognise individual molecular structures. Perception of blends of plant volatiles plays a pivotal role in host recognition, non-host avoidance and ensuing behavioural responses as different responses can occur to a whole blend compared to individual components. There are emergent properties of blend perception because components of the host blend may not be recognised as host when perceived outside the context of that blend. Often there is redundancy in the composition of blends recognised as host because certain compounds can be substituted by others. Fine spatio-temporal resolution of the synchronous firing of ORNs tuned to specific compounds enables insects to pick out relevant host odour cues against high background noise and with ephemeral exposure to the volatiles at varying concentrations. This task is challenging as they usually rely on ubiquitous plant volatiles and not those taxonomically characteristic of host plants. However, such an odour coding system has the advantage of providing flexibility; it allows for adaptation to changing environments by alterations in signal processing while maintaining the same peripheral olfactory receptors.  相似文献
