A New Combination of the genus Zingiber—Z. ellipticum (S. Q. Tong et Y. M. Xia) Q. G. Wu et T. L. Wu and the Systematic Evidence

The distinct characters of the flower of Plagiostachys elliptica, S. Q. Tong et Y. M. Xia are: (1) each flower possesses two large lateral staminodes, which are adnate to the lip (labellum) to form a deeply 3 lobed labellum;(2) connective extends into a curved, beak like conspicuous appendage (anther crest) and envelops the upper part of style. In the Zingiberaceae, these characters are only present in the genus Zingiber.Furthermore, in Sect. Pleuranthesis of Zingiber the spike also arises from side of the leafy stem. Pollen grains of the species are with cerebelloid sculpture,that is the character of the Subtype Cerebelloid areolate in Zingiberaceae, and are similar to those sculpture and morphology of Sect. Zingiber of the genus Zingiber and differ from those of Plagiostachys, of which pollen grains are with longer spines and belong to the Group long spinate of Subtype spinate. The endotesta of seeds in this species is composed of one layer of brick shaped parenchymatous cells, which is similar to the parenchymatous endotesta of Zingiber seeds and obviously differs from that of seeds of Plagiostachys, which consists of one layer of sclereids. Therefore,Plagiostachys elliptica S. Q. Tong et Y. M. Xia should be transferred from Plagiostachys to the genus Zingiber, and a new combination——Zingiber ellipticum (S. Q. Tong et Y. M. Xia) Q. G. Wu et T. L. Wu is made in this paper.     

New Taxa of Zingiberaceae from Yunnan

Twelve new species of Zingiberaceae are described from Yunnan Province, China. They are Amomum fragle S. Q. Tong, A. quadrato-laminare S. Q. Tong, A. verrucosum S. Q. Tong, A. glabrum S. Q. Tong, A. capsiciforme S. Q. Tong, A. coriandriodorum S. Q. Tong, Alpinia rubromaculata S. Q. Tong, A. emaculata S. Q. Tong, Zingiber nigrimaculatum S. Q. Tong, Hedychium glabrum S. Q. Tong, Costus viridis S. Q. Tong and Costus oblongus S. Q.Tong. A key to species of the genus Costus is given at the end of text.     

甘肃省被子植物分布新记录

报道了甘肃省分布的玄参科(Scrophulariaceae)水茫草属(Limosella Linn.)1个新记录属,以及玄参科(Scrophulariaceae)、木兰科(Magnoliaceae)、蓼科(Polygonaceae)、胡颓子科(Elaeagnaceae)、百合科(Liliaceae)5个新记录种——水茫草(Limosella aquatica Linn.)、峨眉含笑(Michelia wilsonii Finet et Gagnep.)、叉分蓼(Polygonum divaricatum L.)、棱果沙棘(Hippophae goniocarpa Y.S.Lian et al.ex SwensonBartish)、青海黄精(Polygontum qinghaiense Z.L.Wu et Y.C.Yang)。其中,峨眉含笑是国家二级重点保护野生植物。

续报道了大戟科等 8个分类单位。大果留萼木 ( Blachia andamanica)为广东和海南的新记录 ;崖州留萼木 ( B.jatrophifolia)的新异名为 B.yaihsienensis;黄毛果巴豆 ( Croton lachynocarpusvar.kwangsiensis)是降级新组合 ;黄蓉花 ( Dalechampia bidentata)分布至云南西南部 ,D. bidentata var. yunnanensis为其新异名 ;海人树 ( Suriana maritima) ,广东省的东沙群岛才有 ,台湾不产 ;锥序丁公藤 ( Erycibe subspicata)其分布东缘在贵州西南部 ;头花小牵牛 ( Jacquemontia tamnifolia) ,广东的归化杂草 ;松下草 ( Petrosavissinii) ,广东新记录     

木兰科植物订正

对部分国产木兰科种类进行了订正,归并7个新异名,澄清Mognolia odoratissima Law et R.Z.Zhou和Michelia sphaerantha C.Y.WuexLaw et Y.F.Wu两个种分类上的混乱。     

单囊壳属一新种——乌蔹莓单囊壳

本文报道了单囊壳属Sphaerotheca的一新种:乌蔹莓单囊壳Sphaerotheca cayratiae Z.Q.Yuan et A.Q.Wang sp.nov.。新种寄生于葡萄科Vitaceae植物角花乌蔹莓Cayratia corniculata(Benth.)Gagnep上,为单囊壳属的寄主科世界新记录。文中对该新种的形态特征作了拉丁文和中文描述,并讨论了新种与本属内相似种的区别。模式标本存于新疆八一农学院植保系真菌标本室。     

Taxonomic studies on Zingiber (Zingiberaceae) in China IV: Z. pauciflorum sp. nov. from Yunnan

Zingiber pauciflorum L.Bai, ?korni?k., D.Z.Li & N.H.Xia (Zingibereae, Zingiberaceae), a new species from southern Yunnan, China, is described and colour plates are provided. It belongs to Z . sect. Cryptanthium Horan. and is compared with three similar species, namely Z. tenuifolium L.Bai, ?korni?k. & N.H.Xia, Z. smilesianum Craib and Z. yunnanense S.Q.Tong & X.Z.Liu. A colour plate of the most similar species, Z. smilesianum is also provided for comparison.     

A Study on the Original Plants of the Chinese Drug Guangdougen (Shandougen)

Guangdougen is generally known as Shandougen. It is a traditional Chinese drug. It can be used as antipyretic, antidote, anodyne or antiinflammation agent. In recent years, some compounds (alkaloids, flavones and a new glycoside) such as cytisine, matrine, oxymatrine, pterocarpin and isoprenyl chalcone, have been isolated from roots of Guangdougen for medicinal purposes. They give effects of antiarrhythmia, anticancer or antiulcer. A recent investigation reveals that the Guangdougen comes from Sophora tonkinensis Gagnep. (syn. Sophora subprostrata Chun et T. Chen) and Sophora tonkinensis Gagnep. var. polyphylla S. Z. Huang et Z. C. Zhou, var. nov. Gnangdougen is geographically restricted to SE. and NW. Guangxi and SE. Guizhou and Yunnan (103-109°E, 22-26°N). They have an ecological preference for limestone regions, very commonly growing in mountains of 500-800 m alt.     

竹亚科的两个新组合

本文作者查阅了大节竹属Indososa McClure的标本, 发现灵川大节竹I.lingchuanensis C.D.Chu et C.S.Chao和橄榄竹I.gegantea(Wen)Wen 均属一次发生的总状花序, 应重新组合到酸竹属Acidosasa中。     

A Study on the Genus Gynostemma Bl. (Cucurbitaceae) from China

The genus Gynostemma B1. consists of 13 species and 2 varieties in the whole world, among which 11 species and 2 varieties occur in China. They are distributed in S. Shaanxi and the southern part of the Yangtze River (including Taiwan province) in China and also in Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka, India and Malesia. Based on the characters and dehiscence of fruit, the genus Gynostemma B1. may be divided into two subgenera, i.e. Subgen. I. Gynostemma and Subgen. II. Trirostllum (Z. P. Wang et Q. Z. Xie) C. Y. Wu ct S. K. Chen, comb. nov. 1. Subgenus Gynostemma. The fruits are baccate, globose, 3-umbonate and incorni culate on the apical side, indehiscent when mature. The style apex in female flower is bifid. Type of subgenus: Gynostemma pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Mak. This subgenus contains 8 species and 2 varieties in the world, among which 6 species and 2 varieties occur in China, i.e.1.G. simplicifolium B1. (Yunnan, Hainan of Guangdong); 2. G. laxum (Wall.) Cogn. (S. Yunnan, Hainan of Guangdong and Guangxi); 3. G. burmanicum King ex Chakr. (Yunnan), 3a. G. burmanicum var. molle C. Y. Wu (Yunnan); 4. G. pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Mak. (S. Shaanxi and the soutern area of the Yangtze River of China), 4a. G. pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Mak. var. dasycarpum C. V. Wu (Yunnan); 5. G. pubescens (Gagnep.) C. Y. Wu, st. nov. (Yunnan); 6. G. longipes C. Y. Wu, sp. nov. (endemic to China: Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Shaanxi and Guangxi). 2. Subgenus Trirostellum (Z. P. Wang et Q. Z. Xie) C. Y. Wu et S. K. Chen, comb. nov.——Trirostellum Z. P. Wang et Q. Z. Xie in Acta Phytotaxonomia Sinica 19 (4): 483. 1981, syn. nov. The fruit are capsules, subcampanulate, 3-corniculate on the apical side, dehiscent when mature. The style apex in female flower is luniform and irregularly denticulate at margin, rarely bifid. Type of subgenus: Gynostemma cardiospermum Cogn. ex Oliv. This subgenus comprises 5 species, which are all endemic to China. 1. G. yixingense (Z. P. Wang et Q. Z. Xie) C. Y. Wu et S. K. Chen (Jiangsu and Zhejiang); 2. G. cardio spermum Cogn. ex Oliv. (Hubei, Shaanxi and Sichuan); 3. G. microspermum C. Y. Wu et S. K. Chen (S. Yunnan); 4. G. aggregatum C. Y. Wu et S. K. Chen (NW. Yunnan); 5. G.laxiflorum C. Y. Wu et S. K. Chen (Anhui).     

Taxonomic studies on Zingiber (Zingiberaceae) in China VI: Z. leucochilum,a new species with running rhizome from Sichuan

Zingiber leucochilum L.Bai, ?korni?k. & N.H.Xia (Zingibereae, Zingiberaceae), a new species from southeastern Sichuan, China, is described and illustrated with a colour plate. Notes on ecology, distribution and a preliminary IUCN conservation assessment are also provided. The new species is assigned to Z . sect. Cryptanthium Horan. and compared to five morphologically similar species from China which share the characteristic well‐elongated and running rhizome, namely, Z. emeiense Z.Y.Zhu, Z. leptorrhizum D.Fang, Z. pauciflorum L.Bai, ?korni?k., D.Z.Li & N.H.Xia, Z. smilesianum Craib and Z. yunnanense S.Q.Tong & X.Z.Liu. A key to the above six species is provided and their distributions are mapped.     

浙江葡萄属(Vitis L.)植物新资料

中国产龙葵数值分类的研究

本文通过对龙葵及变种黄果龙葵和少花龙葵的形态特征比较及系统聚类分析研究,认为可分为２个种及１个变种。     

海桐花属一些种类的新异名

作为对英文版“Flora of China”海桐花科的分类学修订结果,提出了海桐花属6个种的8个新异名,并分别进行了讨论。     

Secondary stabilization reactions and proton-coupled electron transport in photosystem II investigated by electroluminescence and fluorescence spectroscopy

The oxidized primary electron donor in photosystem II, P(680)(+), is reduced in several phases, extending over 4 orders of magnitude in time. Especially the slower phases may reflect the back-pressure exerted by water oxidation and provide information on the reactions involved. The kinetics of secondary electron-transfer reactions in the microseconds time range after charge separation were investigated in oxygen-evolving thylakoids suspended in H2O or D2O. Flash-induced changes of chlorophyll fluorescence yield and electric field-induced recombination luminescence were decomposed into contributions from oxidation states S(0), S(1), S(2), and S(3) of the oxygen-evolving complex and interpreted in terms of stabilization kinetics of the initial charge-separated state S(j)Y(Z)P(680)(+)Q(A)(-)Q(B). In approximately 10% of the centers, only charge recombination took place. Otherwise, no static heterogeneity was involved in the microsecond reduction of P(680)(+) by Y(Z) (stabilization) or Q(A)(-) (recombination). The recombination component in active centers occurs mainly upon charge separation in S(3), and, in the presence of D2O, in S(2) as well and is tentatively attributed to the presence of Y(Z)(ox)S(j-1) in equilibrium with Y(Z)S(j). A 20-30 micros stabilization occurs in all S-states, but to different extents. Possible mechanisms for this component are discussed. D2O was found to decrease: (i) the rate of the reaction Y(Z)(ox)S(1) to Y(Z)S(2), (ii) the equilibrium constant between P680(+)Y(Z)S(2) and P(680)Y(Z)(ox)S(2), (iii) the rate of the slow phase of P(680)(+) reduction for the S(3) --> S(0) transition, and (iv) the rate of electron transfer from Q(A)(-) to Q(B) /Q(B)(-). The increased 'miss probability' in D2O is due to (iii).     

Pyrgophyllum,a New Genus of Zingiberaceae from China

Pyrgophyllum (Gagnep.) T. L. Wu et Z. Y. Chen is a monotypic genus of Zingiberaceae from China. Originally, it was placed in Kaempferia as a subgenus by Gagnepain (1901), later transferred to Camptandra by Schumann (1904) and to Caulokaempferia by R. M. Smith. (1972). In this paper, the authors suggest that the separation of Pyrgophyllum at generic rank is justified on cytological, morphological and anatomical evidence. It is characterised by the large lamina-like bracts, which are rarely seen in Zingiberaceae. The margin of each bract is adnate to the main axis of the inflorescence at the base and the lip is lobed. Trichomes unicellular, stomata each with 4-7 lateral subsidiary cells, lateral veins are of three various types of vascular bundles: girder-shaped, semigirder-shaped and isolated. The pollen grains are spinecent. The basic chromosome number (x) is 21. The type species, Pyrgophyllum yunnanensis (Gagnep.) T. L. Wu et Z. Y. Chen (Kaempferia yunnanensis Gagnep.), is only distributed in Yunnan and Sichuan provinces of China.     

New synonymies of some species of Pittosporum (Pittosporaceae)

As part of a revision of Chinese Pittosporum Banks ex Gaertn. for the forthcoming account of Pittosporaceae in “Flora of China”, Volume 9, eight names, all described from China, are reduced to synonymy as follows: P. illicioides Makino var. angustifolium T. C. Huang ex S. Y. Lu, syn. nov. and P. illicioides var. stenophyllum P. L. Chiu ex H. T. Chang & S. Z. Yan, syn. nov., both under P. illicioides; P. densinervatum H. T. Chang & S. Z. Yan, syn. nov. and P. longicarpum S. K. Wu ex C. Y. Wu, syn. nov., both under P. kweichowense Gowda var. kweichowense; P. polycarpum H. T. Chang & S. Z. Yan, syn. nov. under P. paniculiferum H. T. Chang & S. Z. Yan; P. membranifolium S. C. Huang ex C. Y. Wu, syn. nov. under P. perryanum Gowda var. perryanum; P. motanthum C. Y. Wu, syn. nov. under P. podocarpum Gagnep. var. podocarpum; and P. tobira (Thunb.) W. T Aiton var. chinense S. Kobayashi, syn. nov. under P. tobira.     

四川天南星属(天南星科)一新种——川西南星

描述了四川西部天南星属(天南星科)植物一新种,即川西天南星.     

卫矛科沟瓣属一新名称

印度支那植物志中有一个假卫矛属植物名称Microtropis poilanei。据其模式标本来看,该种显然不是假卫矛属Microtropis Wallich植物,而是沟瓣属Glyptopetalum Thwaites一新成员。由于种名Glyptope-talumpoilanei Tardieu已经合法发表,笔者根据其模式标本叶全缘的特点,提出新名称为全缘叶沟瓣Glypto-petalum integrifolium Q.W.Lin,Z.X.Zhang & Q.R.Liu。此外由于Microtro pispoilanei未合格发表,作者补充了新名称的拉丁描述。
