The advances of flexible electronics have raised demand for power sources with adaptability, flexibility, and multifunctionalities. Triboelectric nanogenerators are promising replacements for traditional batteries. Here, a highly soft skin‐like, transparent, and easily adaptable biomechanical energy harvester, based on a hybrid elastomer and with a polyionic hydrogel as the electrification layer and current collector, is developed. By harvesting the energy in human motion, the device generates an open‐circuit voltage of 70 V, a short‐circuit current density of 30.2 mA m?2, and a maximum power density of 2.79 W m?2 in a single‐electrode working mode. Further, it is demonstrated that the device can deliver power under bending, curling or by simple tapping when attached to human skin. In addition, the optimal counterpart of the polyionic layer with highest electronegativity difference is selected from a series of contact electrification materials based on a two‐electrode working mode, where a flexible device with the matching counterparts is investigated. Serving as ionic conductor and electrification layer, this polyionic material shows promising application in future development of self‐powered flexible electronics.  相似文献

With the solar panels quickly spreading across the rooftops worldwide, solar power is now very popular. However, the output of the solar cell panels is highly dependent on weather conditions, making it rather unstable. Here, a hybridized power panel that can simultaneously generate power from sunlight, raindrop, and wind is proposed and demonstrated, when any or all of them are available in ambient environment. Without compromising the output performance and conversion efficiency of the solar cell itself, the presented hybrid cell can deliver an average output of 86 mW m?2 from the water drops at a dripping rate of 13.6 mL s?1, and an average output of 8 mW m?2 from wind at a speed of 2.7 m s?1, which is an innovative energy compensation to the common solar cells, especially in rainy seasons or at night. Given the compelling features, such as cost‐effectiveness and a greatly expanded working time, the reported hybrid cell renders an innovative way to realize multiple kinds of energy harvesting and as an useful compensation to the currently widely used solar cells. The demonstrated concept here will possibly be adopted in a variety of circumstances and change the traditional way of solar energy harvesting.  相似文献

Wearable and portable electronics have brought great convenience. These battery‐powered commercial devices have a limited lifetime and require recharging, which makes more extensive applications challenging. Here, a battery‐like self‐charge universal module (SUM) is developed, which is able to efficiently convert mechanical energy into electrical energy and store it in one device. An integrated SUM consists of a power management unit and an energy harvesting unit. Compared to other mechanical energy harvesting devices, SUM is more ingenious, efficient and can be universally used as a battery. Under low frequency (5 Hz), a SUM can deliver an excellent normalized output power of 2 mW g?1. After carrying several SUMs and jogging for 10 min, a commercial global positioning system module is powered and works continuously for 0.5 h. SUMs can be easily assembled into different packages for powering various commercial electronics, demonstrating the great application prospects of SUM as a sustainable battery‐like device for wearable and portable electronics.  相似文献

A new “wireless” paradigm for harvesting mechanical energy via a 3D‐printed wireless triboelectric nanogenerator (W‐TENG) comprised of an ecofriendly graphene polylactic acid (gPLA) nanocomposite and Teflon is demonstrated. The W‐TENG generates very high output voltages >2 kV with a strong electric field that enables the wireless transmission of harvested energy over a distance of 3 m. The W‐TENG exhibited an instantaneous peak power up to 70 mW that could be wirelessly transmitted for storage into a capacitor obviating the need for hard‐wiring or additional circuitry. Furthermore, the use of W‐TENG for wireless and secure actuation of smart‐home applications such as smart tint windows, temperature sensors, liquid crystal displays, and security alarms either with a single or a specific user‐defined passcode of mechanical pulses (e.g., Fibonacci sequence) is demonstrated. The scalable additive manufacturing approach for gPLA‐based W‐TENGs, along with their high electrical output and unprecedented wireless applications, is poised for revolutionizing the present mechanical energy harvesting technologies.  相似文献

The trends in miniaturization of electronic devices give rise to the attention of energy harvesting technologies that gathers tiny wattages of power. Here this study demonstrates an ultrathin flexible single electrode triboelectric nanogenerator (S‐TENG) which not only could harvest mechanical energy from human movements and ambient sources, but also could sense instantaneous force without extra energy. The S‐TENG, which features an extremely simple structure, has an average output current of 78 μA, lightening up at least 70 LEDs (light‐emitting diode). Even tapped by bare finger, it exhibits an output current of 1 μA. The detection sensitivity for instantaneous force sensing is about 0.947 μA MPa?1. Performances of the device are also systematically investigated under various motion types, press force, and triboelectric materials. The S‐TENG has great application prospects in sustainable wearable devices, sustainable medical devices, and smart wireless sensor networks owning to its thinness, light weight, energy harvesting, and sensing capacities.  相似文献

Ubiquitous low‐grade thermal energy, which is typically wasted without use, can be extremely valuable for continuously powering electronic devices such as sensors and wearable electronics. A popular choice for waste heat recovery has been thermoelectric energy conversion, but small output voltage without energy‐storing capability necessitates additional components such as a voltage booster and a capacitor. Here, a novel method of simultaneously generating a large voltage from a temperature gradient and storing electrical energy without losing the benefit of solid‐state no‐moving part devices like conventional thermoelectrics is reported. Thermally driven ion diffusion is used to greatly increase the output voltage (8 mV K?1) with polystyrene sulfonic acid (PSSH) film. Polyaniline‐coated electrodes containing graphene and carbon nanotube sandwich the PSSH film where thermally induced voltage‐enabled electrochemical reactions, resulting in a charging behavior without an external power supply. With a small temperature difference (5 K) possibly created over wearable energy harvesting devices, the thermally chargeable supercapacitor produce 38 mV with a large areal capacitance (1200 F m?2). It is anticipated that the attempt with thermally driven ion diffusion behaviors initiates a new research direction in thermal energy harvesting.  相似文献

Converting low‐grade thermal energy with small temperature gradient into electricity is challenging due to the low efficiency and high cost. Here, a new type of thermal–electric nanogenerator is reported that utilizes electrokinetic effect for effective harvesting thermal energy. The nanogenerator is based on an evaporation‐driven water flow in porous medium with small temperature gradient. With a piece of porous carbon film and deionized water, a maximum open‐circuit voltage of 0.89 V under a temperature difference of 4.2 °C is obtained, having a corresponding pseudo‐Seebeck coefficient of 210 mV K?1. The large pseudo‐Seebeck coefficient endows the nanogenerator sufficient power output for powering existing electronics directly. Furthermore, a wearable bracelet nanogenerator utilizing body heat is also demonstrated. The unique properties of such conversion process offer great potential for ultra‐low temperature‐gradient thermal energy recovery, wearable electronics, and self‐powered sensor systems.  相似文献

Electronics wastes (e‐wastes) are the major concern in the rapid expansion of smart/wearable/portable electronics in modern high‐tech society. Informal processing and enormous gathering of e‐wastes can lead to adverse human/animal health effects and environmental pollution worldwide. Currently, these issues are a big headache and require the scientific community to develop effective green energy harvesting technologies using biodegradable/biocompatible materials. Piezoelectric/triboelectric nanogenerators (PNGs/TNGs) are considered one of the most promising renewable green energy sources for the conversion of mechanical/biomechanical energies into electricity. However, organic/inorganic material based PNGs/TNGs are very much incompatible, and considered e‐wastes for their non‐biodegradability. This review covers potential uses of biodegradable/biocompatible materials which are wasted every day as nature driven material based bio‐nanogenerators with a particular focus on their applications in flexible PNGs/TNGs fabrication. Structural investigation and possible working principles are described first in order to outline the basic mechanism of bio‐inspired materials behind energy harvesting. Then, energy harvesting abilities and the mechanical sensing of bio‐inspired integrated flexible devices are discussed under various mechanical/biomechanical activities. Finally, their potential applications in various flexible, wearable, and portable electronic fields are demonstrated. These bio‐inspired energy harvesting devices can make huge changes in fields as diverse as portable electronics, in vitro/in vivo biomedical applications, and many more.  相似文献

The rapid development of personal electronics imposes a great challenge on sustainable and maintenance‐free power supplies. The integration of nanogenerators (NG) and electrochromic supercapacitors (SC) offers a promising solution to efficiently convert mechanical energy to stored electrical energy in a predictable and noticeable manner. In this paper, by integrating hybrid NGs and electrochromic micro‐SCs (µ‐SCs) array, the authors demonstrate a smart self‐charging power package capable of indicating the charging state with color change. The electrochromic µ‐SC employs Ag nanowires/NiO as electrode materials, exhibiting high capacitance (3.47 mF cm?2) and stable cycling performance (80.7% for 10000 cycles). The hybrid NG can produce a high output voltage of 150 V and an enhanced output current of 20 µA to satisfy the self‐charging requirements. The integrated electrochromic µ‐SCs array is capable of self‐charging to 3 V to light up a LED under human palm impact. The charging states can be estimated according to the color differences with the naked eye during the self‐charging process. Moreover, it is possible to design the planar interdigitated electrodes into different shapes according to user demand. The proposed simple and cost‐effective approaches for smart self‐charging power package may pave the way for future intelligent, independent and continuous operation of daily electronics.  相似文献

Stretchable devices need elastic hydrogel electrolyte as an essential component, while most hydrogels will lose their stretchability after being incorporated with strong alkaline solution. This is why highly stretchable zinc–air batteries have never been reported so far. Herein, super‐stretchable, flat‐ (800% stretchable) and fiber‐shaped (500% stretchable) zinc–air batteries are first developed by designing an alkaline‐tolerant dual‐network hydrogel electrolyte. In the dual‐network hydrogel electrolyte, sodium polyacrylate (PANa) chains contribute to the formation of soft domains and the carboxyl groups neutralized by hydroxyls as well as cellulose as potassium hydroxide stabilizer are responsible for vastly enhanced alkaline tolerance. The obtained super‐stretchable, flat zinc–air battery exhibits a high power density of 108.6 mW?cm?2, increasing to 210.5 mW?cm?2 upon being 800% stretched. Similar phenomena are observed for the 500% stretchable fiber‐shaped batteries. The devices can maintain stable power output even after being heavily deformed benefiting from the highly soft, alkaline‐tolerant hydrogel electrolyte developed. A bendable battery‐display system and water proof weavable fiber zinc–air battery are also demonstrated. This work will facilitate the progress of using zinc–air battery powering flexible electronics and smart clothes. Moreover, the developed alkaline‐tolerant super‐stretchable electrolyte can also be applied for many other alkaline electrolyte‐based energy storage/conversion devices.  相似文献

An acoustic wave is a type of energy that is clean and abundant but almost totally unused because of its very low density. This study investigates a novel dual‐tube Helmholtz resonator‐based triboelectric nanogenerator (HR‐TENG) for highly efficient harvesting of acoustic energy. This HR‐TENG is composed of a Helmholtz resonant cavity, a metal film with evenly distributed acoustic holes, and a dielectric soft film with one side ink‐printed for electrode. Effects of resonant cavity structure, acoustic conditions, and film tension on the HR‐TENG performance are investigated systematically. By coupling the mechanisms of triboelectric nanogenerator and acoustic propagation, a theoretical guideline is provided for improving energy output and broadening the frequency band. Specifically, the present HR‐TENG generates the maximum acoustic sensitivity per unit area of 1.23 VPa?1 cm?2 and the maximum power density per unit sound pressure of 1.82 WPa?1 m?2, which are higher than the best results from the literature by 60 and 20%, respectively. In addition, the HR‐TENG may also serve as a self‐powered acoustic sensor.  相似文献

Piezoelectric ZnO nanorods grown on a flexible substrate are combined with the p‐type semiconducting polymer PEDOT:PSS to produce a p‐n junction device that successfully demonstrates kinetic‐to‐electrical energy conversion. Both the voltage and current output of the devices are measured to be in the range of 10 mV and 10 μA cm?2. Combining these figures for the best device gives a maximum possible power density of 0.4 mW cm?3. Systematic testing of the devices is performed showing that the voltage output increases linearly with applied stress, and is reduced significantly by illumination with super‐band gap light. This provides strong evidence that the voltage output results from piezoelectric effects in the ZnO. The behavior of the devices is explained by considering the time‐dependent changes in band structure resulting from the straining of a piezoelectric material within a p‐n junction. It is shown that the rate of screening of the depolarisation field determines the power output of a piezoelectric energy harvesting device. This model is consistent with the behavior of a number of previous devices utilising the piezoelectric effect in ZnO.  相似文献

Wearable electronics have attracted a wide range of attention with various functions due to the development of semiconductor industry and information technology. This work focuses on a triboelectric nanogenerator‐based self‐charging power system as a continuous energy source for wearable electronics. The triboelectric nanogenerator has a multilayer elastomeric structure with closely stacked arches as basic functional units. Owing to material and structural innovations, this triboelectric nanogenerator performs outstanding electric output with the maximum volume charge density ≈0.055 C m?3 and practical properties for energy harvesting from body motions. Utilizing the triboelectric nanogenerator as outsole to harvest energy from walking or jogging, a pair of shoes is fabricated with the maximum equivalent charge current of each shoe being around 16.2 µA and specific fitness functions realized on each shoe separately without complex connections.  相似文献

Vibration is a common mechanical phenomenon and possesses mechanical energy in ambient environment, which can serve as a sustainable source of power for equipment and devices if it can be effectively collected. In the present work, a novel soft and robust triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) made of a silicone rubber‐spring helical structure with nanocomposite‐based elastomeric electrodes is proposed. Such a spring based TENG (S‐TENG) structure operates in the contact‐separation mode upon vibrating and can effectively convert mechanical energy from ambient excitation into electrical energy. The two fundamental vibration modes resulting from the vertical and horizontal excitation are analyzed theoretically, numerically, and experimentally. Under the resonant states of the S‐TENG, its peak power density is found to be 240 and 45 mW m?2 with an external load of 10 MΩ and an acceleration amplitude of 23 m s?2. Additionally, the dependence of the S‐TENG's output signal on the ambient excitation can be used as a prime self‐powered active vibration sensor that can be applied to monitor the acceleration and frequency of the ambient excitation. Therefore, the newly designed S‐TENG has a great potential in harvesting arbitrary directional vibration energy and serving as a self‐powered vibration sensor.  相似文献

With the development of the Internet of Things (IoTs), widely distributed electronics in the environment require effective in situ energy harvesting technologies, which is made challenging by the unstable supply and severe conditions in some environments. In this work, a hybrid all‐in‐one power source (AoPS) is demonstrated for widely adaptive environmental energy harvesting. With a novel structure, the AoPS hybridizes high‐performance spherical triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) with solar cells, enabling the harvesting of most typical environmental energies from wind, rain drops, and sun light, for complementary supply. The spherical TENG units with a packaged structure can work robustly to collect energy from fluid. Nearly continuous direct current and a high average power of 5.63 mW can be obtained by four TENG units, which is further complemented by solar cells. Typical application scenarios are also demonstrated, achieving self‐powered soil moisture control, forest fire prevention and pipeline monitoring. The work realizes the concept of an environmental power source that can be deployed in the environment with high adaptability to make use of all kinds of surrounding energies for powering electronics in all‐weather conditions, providing a reliable foundation for the era of the IoTs.  相似文献

An efficient perovskite photovoltaic‐thermoelectric hybrid device is demonstrated by integrating the hole‐conductor‐free perovskite solar cell based on TiO2/ZrO2/carbon structure and the thermoelectric generator. The whole solar spectrum of AM 1.5 G is fully utilized with the ≈1.55 eV band gap perovskite (5‐AVA)x(MA)1?xPbI3 absorbing the visible light and the carbon back contact absorbing the infrared light. The added thermoelectric generator improves the device performance by converting the thermal energy into electricity via the Seebeck effect. An optimized hybrid device is obtained with a maximum point power output of 20.3% and open‐circuit voltage of 1.29 V under the irradiation of 100 mW cm?2.  相似文献

Wind is one of the most important sources of green energy, but the current technology for harvesting wind energy is only effective when the wind speed is beyond 3.5–4.0 m s?1. This is mainly due to the limitation that the electromagnetic generator works best at high frequency. This means that light breezes cannot reach the wind velocity threshold of current wind turbines. Here, a high‐performance triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) for efficiently harvesting energy from an ambient gentle wind, especially for speeds below 3 m s?1 is reported, by taking advantage of the relative high efficiency of TENGs at low‐frequency. Attributed to the multiplied‐frequency vibration of ultra‐stretchable and perforated electrodes, an average output of 20 mW m?3 can be achieved with inlet wind speed of 0.7 m s?1, while an average energy conversion efficiency of 7.8% at wind speed of 2.5 m s?1 is reached. A self‐charging power package is developed and the applicability of the TENG in various light breezes is demonstrated. This work demonstrates the advantages of TENG technology for breeze energy exploitation and proposes an effective supplementary approach for current employed wind turbines and micro energy structure.  相似文献

1D nanostructures of soft ferroelectric materials exert promising potential in the fields of energy harvesting and flexible and printed nanoelectronics. Here, improved piezoelectric properties, energy‐harvesting performance, lower coercive fields, and the polarization orientation of poly(vinylidene fluoride–trifluoroethylene) (PVDF‐TrFE) nanotubes synthesized with nanoconfinement effect are reported. X‐ray diffraction (XRD) patterns of the nanotubes show the peak corresponding to the planes of (110)/(200), which is a signature of ferroelectric beta phase formation. Piezoforce spectroscopy measurements on the free‐standing horizontal nanotubes bundles reveal that the effective polarization direction is oriented at an inclination to the long axis of the nanotubes. The nanotubes exhibit a coercive field of 18.6 MV m?1 along the long axis and 40 MV m?1 (13.2 MV m?1 considering the air gap) in a direction perpendicular to the long axis, which is lower than the film counterpart of 50 MV m?1. The poled 200 nm nanotubes, with 40% reduction in poling field, give larger piezoelectric d33 coefficient values of 44 pm V?1, compared to poled films (≈20 pm V?1). The ferroelectric nanotubes deliver superior energy harvesting performance with an output voltage of ≈4.8 V and power of 2.2 μW cm?2, under a dynamic compression pressure of 0.075 MPa at 1 Hz.  相似文献

This study demonstrates the fabrication and characterization of a flexible thermoelectric (TE) power generator composed of silicon nanowires (SiNWs) fabricated by top‐down method and discusses its strain‐dependence analysis. The Seebeck coefficients of the p‐ and n‐type SiNWs used to form a pn‐module are 156.4 and ?146.1 µV K?1, respectively. The maximum power factors of the p‐ and n‐type SiNWs are obtained as 8.79 and 8.87 mW (m K2)?1, respectively, under a convex bending of 1.11%, respectively; these are the largest values among the power factors hitherto reported for SiNWs. The dimensionless figure of merit (ZT ) values of the SiNWs at room temperature are 6.8 × 10?2 and 6.7 × 10?2 for the convex bent p‐ and n‐type SiNWs, respectively, with a strain of 1.11%. The thermoelectric properties of the pn‐module and its component SiNWs are characterized under strain conditions ranging from ?1.11% to 1.11%. The maximum Seebeck coefficient and power factor of the pn‐module are obtained as 448 µV K?1 and 14.2 mW (m K2)?1, respectively, under convex bending of 1.11%. Moreover, the mechanical stability of the TE characteristics of the pn‐module is demonstrated through a continuous bending test of 3000 cycles under convex bending of 0.66%.  相似文献

Wearable electronics suffer from severe power shortage due to limited working time of Li‐ion batteries, and there is a desperate need to build a hybrid device including energy scavenging and storing units. However, previous attempts to integrate the two units are mainly based on simple external connections and assembly, so that maintaining small volume and low manufacturing cost becomes increasingly challenging. Here a convoluted power device is presented by hybridizing internally a solid Li‐ion battery (SLB) and a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG), so that the two units are one inseparable entity. The fabricated device acts as a TENG that can deliver a peak output power of 7.4 mW under a loading resistance of 7 MΩ, while the device also acts as an SLB to store the obtained electric energy. The device can be mounted on a human shoe to sustainably operate a green light‐emitting diode, thus demonstrating potential for self‐powered wearable electronics.  相似文献
