The rapidly growing world population, water shortage, and food security are promising problems for sustainable agriculture. Farmers adopt higher irrigation and fertilizer applications to increase crop production resulting in environmental pollution. This study aimed to identify the long-term effects of intelligent water and fertilizers used in corn yield and soil nutrient status. A series of field experiments were conducted for six years with treatments as: farmer accustomed to fertilization used as control (CON), fertilizer decrement (KF), fertilizer decrement + water-saving irrigation (BMP1); combined application of organic and inorganic fertilizer + water-saving irrigation (BMP2), and combined application of controlled-release fertilizer (BMP3). A significant improvement was observed in soil organic matter (14.9%), nitrate nitrogen (106.7%), total phosphorus (23.9%), available phosphorus (26.2%), straw yield (44.8%), and grain yield (54.7%) with BMP2 treatment as compared to CON. The study concludes that integrating chemical and organic fertilizers with water-saving irrigation (BMP2) is a good approach to increasing corn productivity, ensuring water safety and improving soil health. The limitations of the current study include the identification of fertilizer type and its optimum dose, irrigation water type, and geographical position.

Restoration of soil organic carbon (SOC) in arable lands represents potential sink for atmospheric CO2. The strategies for restoration of SOC include the appropriate land use management, cropping sequence, fertilizer and organic manures application. To achieve this goal, the dynamics of SOC and nitrogen (N) in soils needs to be better understood for which the long-term experiments are an important tool. A study was thus conducted to determine SOC and nitrogen dynamics in a long-term experiment in relation to inorganic, integrated and organic fertilizer application in rice-cowpea system on a sandy loam soil (Typic Rhodualf). The fertilizer treatments during rice included (i) 100% N (@ 100 kg N ha?1), (ii) 100% NP (100 kg N and 50 kg P2O5 ha?1), (iii) 100% NPK (100 kg N, 50 kg P2O5 and 50 kg K2O ha?1) as inorganic fertilizers, (iv) 50% NPK + 50% farm yard manure (FYM) (@ 5 t ha?1) and (v) FYM alone @ 10 t ha?1 compared with (vi) control treatment i.e. without any fertilization. The N alone or N and P did not have any significant effect on soil carbon and nitrogen. The light fraction carbon was 53% higher in NPK + FYM plots and 56% higher in FYM plots than in control plots, in comparison to 30% increase with inorganic fertilizers alone. The microbial biomass carbon and water-soluble carbon were relatively higher both in FYM or NPK + FYM plots. The clay fraction had highest concentration of C and N followed by silt, fine sand and coarse sand fractions in both surface (0–15 cm) and subsurface soil layers (15–30 cm). The C:N ratio was lowest in the clay fraction and increased with increase in particle size. The C and N enrichment ratio was highest for the clay fraction followed by silt and both the sand fractions. Relative decrease in enrichment ratio of clay in treatments receiving NPK and or FYM indicates comparatively greater accumulation of C and N in soil fractions other than clay.  相似文献

A field experiment was conducted in 2019 (minor season) and 2020 (major season) to study soil properties and net income response to inorganic NPK fertilizer and biochar application for maize production. The experiment was made up of 2 × 3 factorial combinations of biochar (0 kg ha?1, 2000 kg ha?1) and inorganic NPK fertilizer (0:0:0 kg NPK ha?1, recommended rate; 90:60:60 kg N: P:K ha?1, half of recommended rate; 45:30:30 kg N:P:K ha?1). In both seasons, biochar and inorganic NPK fertilizer applied separately or in combination improved soil properties (dehydrogenase activity, CEC, organic carbon, bacterial and fungal population, microbial biomass carbon and basal respiration rates) and yield significantly. In 2019, however, mineral N and available P did not increase in biochar amended plots. Significant interaction effect was observed between biochar and NPK fertilizer application which could be related to positive soil conditioning of biochar and biochar surface charges which enhanced retention and steady release of nutrient supplied by NPK fertilizer for maize use. Maize grain yield and profit in both crop seasons increased significantly and followed an increasing order of control < sole biochar < NPK (half rate) < NPK (full rate) < combined biochar + NPK (full rate) = combined biochar + NPK (half rate). Farmers in this agro ecological zone are encouraged to apply biochar + inorganic NPK fertilizer (45:30:30) due to its low total production cost, improved maize grain yield and high net income compared to the full rate (90:60:60) or full rate + biochar.  相似文献

It is important to understand switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) productivity with relation to diverse nutrient deficiency conditions in order to optimize continuous biomass production in marginal lands. This study was conducted on a wasteland sandy soil (Aridosol) to assess biomass yield, nutrient uptake and nitrogen (N) recovery of switchgrass, and soil nitrate-N (NO3?-N) accumulation responses to N (120 kg N ha?1), phosphorus (P, 100 kg P2O5 ha?1), and potassium (K, 45 kg K2O ha?1) applications during 2015 and 2016 in Inner Mongolia, China. The experiment layout was a randomized complete block design with fertilizer mixture treatments of N, P, and K (NPK), P and K (PK), N and K (NK), N and P (NP), and a control with no fertilizer input (CK). Plant height and stem diameter remained unaffected by the different fertilizer treatments. Biomass yield with the NPK treatment in 2015 was 8.9 Mg ha?1 and in 2016 it was 7.3 Mg ha?1. In 2015, compared with the NPK treatment, a significant yield reduction of 33.7% was found with PK, 22.5% with NK, 28.1% with NP, and 40.5% with CK; however, in 2016, yield declined significantly only with CK compared to the rest of the fertilizer treatments, for which yields were statistically similar. Plant N content was reduced for the treatment PK (i.e. N omission); conversely, plant P and K content remained unaffected with P and K omission treatments. Plant nutrient uptake, particularly of N and K, was severely decreased by the nutrient omission treatments when averaged across 2 years. Apparent N recovery (ANR; quantity of N uptake per unit of N applied) was reduced for the NP and NK treatments, which led to an increase in soil NO3?-N accumulation in the top 0–20 cm layer, compared with the NPK treatment. However, ANR was the highest (37.2% in 2015) with the NPK treatment, which also reduced soil NO3?-N accumulation. A balanced N, P, and K fertilizer management approach is suggested to sustain switchgrass yield and stand persistence on semiarid, marginal, sandy wasteland.  相似文献

The impact of agricultural management on global warming potential (GWP) and greenhouse gas intensity (GHGI) is not well documented. A long‐term fertilizer experiment in Chinese double rice‐cropping systems initiated in 1990 was used in this study to gain an insight into a complete greenhouse gas accounting of GWP and GHGI. The six fertilizer treatments included inorganic fertilizer [nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer (NP), nitrogen and potassium fertilizer (NK), and balanced inorganic fertilizer (NPK)], combined inorganic/organic fertilizers at full and reduced rate (FOM and ROM), and no fertilizer application as a control. Methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) fluxes were measured using static chamber method from November 2006 through October 2009, and the net ecosystem carbon balance was estimated by the changes in topsoil (0–20 cm) organic carbon (SOC) density over the 10‐year period 1999–2009. Long‐term fertilizer application significantly increased grain yields, except for no difference between the NK and control plots. Annual topsoil SOC sequestration rate was estimated to be 0.96 t C ha?1 yr?1 for the control and 1.01–1.43 t C ha?1 yr?1 for the fertilizer plots. Long‐term inorganic fertilizer application tended to increase CH4 emissions during the flooded rice season and significantly increased N2O emissions from drained soils during the nonrice season. Annual mean CH4 emissions ranged from 621 kg CH4 ha?1 for the control to 1175 kg CH4 ha?1 for the FOM plots, 63–83% of which derived from the late‐rice season. Annual N2O emission averaged 1.15–4.11 kg N2O–N ha?1 in the double rice‐cropping systems. Compared with the control, inorganic fertilizer application slightly increased the net annual GWPs, while they were remarkably increased by combined inorganic/organic fertilizer application. The GHGI was lowest for the NP and NPK plots and highest for the FOM and ROM plots. The results of this study suggest that agricultural economic viability and GHGs mitigation can be simultaneously achieved by balanced fertilizer application.  相似文献

The effects of five (5 000, 10 000, 15 000, 20 000, 24 000 kg ha?1 year?1) different doses of organic fertilizer (cow dung) were studied on pond productivity in terms of plankton production and fish biomass in freshwater fish ponds. The grow out period was 60 days. Physico-chemical factors of pond waters were also monitored. With an increase in the fertilizer dose, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) (1.7 ± 0.1 – 10.35 ± 0.05 mg L?1), O-PO4 (0.04 ± 0.0 – 0.77 ± 0.02 mg L?1) and NH4-N (0.03 ± 0.02 – 0.32 ± 0.02 mg L?1) increased significantly (P < 0.05). Alkalinity (79.0 ± 1.6 – 164.0 ± 3.8 mg L?1) also increased with the increase in fertilizer dose, declining after 60 and 75 days (48.8 ± 1.13 – 67.9 ± 2.1 mg L?1). NO3-N was maximum (1.66 ± 0.2 mg L?1) in the ponds which received cow dung at 15 000 kg ha?1 year?1, and declined (0.94 ± 0.5 mg L?1) at higher doses. Dissolved oxygen (DO) remained significantly high (4.7 mg L?1) up to the third (15 000 kg ha?1 year?1) treatment. Highest plankton population (phytoplankton 17 350.0 ± 1 250.0 no L?1), zooplankton (373.0 ± 22.0 no L?1), species diversity (phytoplankton 3.0, zooplankton 2.3), fish biomass (4.45 kg) and specific growth rate (SGR) (2.36 % body weight (BW) d?1) were also observed in ponds which were treated with fertilizer at 15 000 kg ha?1 year?1. However, at higher doses, a decline in these parameters (phytoplankton, 0.0 – 8 810.0 ± 690.0 no L?1; zooplankton, 0.0 – 205.0 ± 25.0 no L?1; fish biomass, 2.3 kg; SGR, 1.25 % body weight (BW) d?1) was observed. Furthermore, with a decrease in the water temperature from 24 °C (on day 60) to 21 °C (on day 75), a decline in nutrient release, plankton population L?1 and species diversity was observed. Sediment analysis indicated that with an increase in the fertilizer dosage, a significant and progressive increase in the accumulation of organic carbon (0.787 ± 0.006 – 0.935 ± 0.01), total nitrogen (0.877 ± 0.071 – 1.231 ± 0.03), NH4-N (54.4 ± 0.57 – 68.95 ± 0.81), NO3-N (78.5 ± 1.21 – 98.5 ± 0.35), total P (140.0 ± 0.50 – 151.0 ± 1.27) and soluble P (7.15 ± 0.18 – 10.1 ± 0.56) took place; similarly, electrical conductivity (EC) values of sediment also increased progressively (from 200.0 ± 7.1–300.0 ± 10.63 μ mhos cm?1).  相似文献

To develop agronomic application rates for alum-amended poultry litter, nutrient and Al availability of this particular organic fertilizer were examined using long-term field weathering studies. It was revealed that concentrations of N, P, K+, and Al3+ in the poultry litter leachate ranged from 5 to 6,503 mg L-1, 2 to 84 mg L-1, 2 to 5135 mg L-1, and 0.05 to 4.6 mg L-1, respectively. Release of nutrients occurred principally in the first growing season and would last for years. During 19 months of field weathering, 10.5 kg N, 1.1 kg P, 34.5 kg K+, and 0.031 kg Al3+ were released per ton of the poultry litter and recovered in the leachate. The results suggest that no Al toxicity would be generated to crops if alum-amended poultry litter is used as a fertilizer. If applied at 13.3 ton ha-1, the poultry litter will supply 150.0 kg ha-1 N, 15.2 kg ha-1 P, and 456.2 kg ha-1 K+ to seasonal crops. Application of alum-amended poultry litter at available N-based rates will meet crop nutrient requirements while minimizing nutrient runoff losses.  相似文献

Several boreal and alpine forests are depleted in nutrients due to acidification. Fertilization may be a remedy, but rapidly-soluble salts (N, P, K, Mg) may pose nitrate problems for the groundwater or decrease microbial activity. With the aim to investigate potential nitrogen leaching after fertilization we set up an experiment employing intact soil cores (11 cm diameter, 20–40 cm long) from a mixed forest and a Picea abies stand (soil type Rendsina) in the Northern Calcareous Alps of Austria. The cores were fertilized with a commercial NPK fertilizer or a methylene-urea-apatite-biotite (MuAB) fertilizer at a rate corresponding to 300 kg N ha-1 and incubated for 28 weeks together with unfertilized controls. Both soil water (retrieved 5 cm below the soil surface) and leachate were analyzed for nitrate and ammonium in regular intervals. After the incubation, soil microbial biomass and basal repiration were determined and a nitrogen mineralization assay was performed. For the control, in the soil water and leachate maximum NH4 + and NO3 - concentrations of 5 and 11 mg N L-1, respectively, were found. Compared to that, MuAB fertilizer resulted in a slow increase of NH4 + and NO3 - in the soil water (up to 11 and 35 mg N L-1 respectively) and in the leachate (4 mg NH4 +-N L-1 and 44 mg NO3 --N L-1). Highest nitrogen loads were found for the fast release NPK fertilizer, with NH4 + and NO3 - concentrations up to 170 and 270 mg N L-1, respectively, in the soil water. NH4 +-N levels in the leachate remained below 5, while NO3-N levels were up to 190 mg L-1. Fast- release NPK caused a significant decrease of microbial biomass and basal respiration. These parameters were not affected by MuAB fertilizer. The results suggest that the MuAB fertilizer may be an ecologically appropriate alternative to fast-release mineral fertilizers for improving forest soils.  相似文献

Compared with the standard method of manual fertilizer broadcasting (MFB), mechanized hill-drilling direct-seeding with deep application of slow-release nitrogen fertilizer (MHDDF) is an efficient method to integrate both fertilization and seeding. However, there are few studies that combine the use of slow-release fertilizer with MHDDF. We sought to explore the combined effect of MHDDF with slow-release fertilizer on rice yield and nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium utilization, compared to MFB. We compared three different MHDDF methods (D30: 450 kg ha?1, D40: 600 kg ha?1, D50: 750 kg ha?1), with one MFB method (B50: 750 kg ha?1), and one control (CK: 0 kg ha?1). We found that the yield of all MHDDF method was higher than that of both the MFB method. Yield was the highest in the D50 treatment and was 14.14–46.03% higher than that in B50 treatment. Biomass accumulation, nutrient accumulation, and nutrient use efficiency were similarly higher in MHDDF method than both MFB and CK. Compared to B50, the D50 treatment increased nitrogen recovery efficiency by 170.53–231.50%, phosphorus recovery efficiency by 480.00–724.25%, and potassium recovery efficiency by 201.55–169.59%. Overall, we found that combining MHDDF with slow-release fertilizer was an effective method to increase rice yield and nutrient use efficiency compared with MFB.

Labelled urea or ammonium nitrate was applied to winter wheat growing on a loamy soil in Northern France. Two applications of fertilizer were given: 50 kg N ha–1 at tillering (early March) and 110 kg N ha–1 at the beginning of stem elongation (mid-April). The kinetics of urea hydrolysis, nitrification of ammonium and the disappearance of inorganic nitrogen were followed at frequent intervals. Inorganic nitrogen soon disappeared, mainly immobilized by soil microflora and absorbed by the crop. Net immobilization of fertilizer N occured at a very similar rate for urea and ammonium nitrate. Maximum immobilization (16 kg N ha1) was found at harvest for the first dressing and at anthesis for the second dressing (23 kg N ha1). During the nitrification period, the labelled ammonium pool was immobilized two to three times faster than the labelled nitrate pool. No significant net15N remineralization was found during the growth cycle. The actual denitrification and volatilization losses were probably more important than indicated from calculations made by extrapolation of fluxes measured over short intervals. However microbial immobilization was the most important of the processes which compete with plant uptake for nitrogen.  相似文献

On a heavily karstified site in the Northern Limestone Alps (Austria), nutrient budgets and leaching in Norway spruce stands were investigated along a chronosequence (clearcut, 10-year-old plantation (25% cover of planted and naturally regenerated spruce and larch, 75% weed cover) and mature stand). The soils were Lithic Leptosols on very pure limestone. Nutrient fluxes were studied during three growth periods (4–5 months each). Despite of inorganic nitrogen inputs from precipitation between 5 and 10 kg ha–1, inorganic nitrogen output with seepage water from the mature stand and the regeneration plot was only 0.5–1.2 kg ha–1 during these periods. In the first and second growth periods after clearcut, inorganic N fluxes with seepage increased to 20 and 30 kg ha–1, respectively, declining in the third growth period to 8 kg ha–1. DON output during the growth period was between 3 and 6 kg ha–1 in the mature stand and 7 and 11 kg ha–1 in the clearcut as well as in the regeneration plot. K output rates achieved 30 kg ha–1 in the first, 20 kg ha–1 in the second and 9 kg ha–1 in the third growth period after clear-cutting while output rates during the growth periods were less than 2 kg ha–1 in the mature stand and in the regeneration plot. K pools in the humus layer were only 150–210 kg ha–1, total K pools including above and below ground biomass in the mature stand were 360 kg ha–1. Thus, post-harvest hydrological losses comprise a substantial depletion of K for this specific ecosystem. Since precipitation is high in this area (1400 mm a–1), forest growth is limited by nutrient rather than by water supply. Needle analyses already indicate a deficient potassium supply. Harvesting and post-harvesting losses of K in combination with elevated nitrogen deposition may have negative influences on the stability of forest stands on the studied sites.  相似文献

Biomass demand for energy will lead to utilization of marginal, low fertility soil. Application of fertilizer to such soil may increase switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) biomass production. In this three-way factorial field experiment, biomass yield response to potassium (K) fertilizer (0 and 68 kg?K?ha?1) on nitrogen (N)-sufficient and N-deficient switchgrass (0 and 135 kg?N?ha?1) was evaluated under two harvest systems. Harvest system included harvesting once per year after frost (December) and twice per year in summer (July) at boot stage and subsequent regrowth after frost. Under the one-cut system, there was no response to N or K only (13.4 Mg?ha?1) compared to no fertilizer (12.4 Mg?ha?1). Switchgrass receiving both N and K (14.6 Mg?ha?1) produced 18 % greater dry matter (DM) yield compared to no fertilizer check. Under the two-cut harvest system, N only (16.0 Mg?ha?1) or K only (14.1 Mg?ha?1) fertilizer produced similar DM to no fertilizer (15.1 Mg?ha?1). Switchgrass receiving both N and K in the two-cut system (19.2 Mg?ha?1) produced the greatest (P?<?0.05) DM yield, which was 32 % greater than switchgrass receiving both N and K in the one-cut system. Nutrient removal (biomass?×?nutrient concentration) was greatest in plots receiving both N and K, and the two-cut system had greater nutrient removal than the one-cut system. Based on these results, harvesting only once during winter months reduces nutrient removal in harvested biomass and requires less inorganic fertilizer for sustained yields from year to year compared to two-cut system.  相似文献

Inputs and losses of nitrogen (N) were determined in dairy cow farmlets receiving 0, 225 or 360 kg N ha-1 (in split applications as urea) in the first year of a large grazing experiment near Hamilton, New Zealand. Cows grazed perennial ryegrass/white clover pastures all year round on a free-draining soil. N2 fixation was estimated (using 15N dilution) to be 212, 165 and 74 kg N ha-1 yr-1 in the 0, 225 and 360 N treatments, respectively. The intermediate N rate had little effect on clover growth during spring but favoured more total pasture cover in summer and autumn, thereby reducing overgrazing and resulting in 140% more clover growth during the latter period.Removal of N in milk was 76,89 and 92 kg N ha-1 in the 0, 225 and 360 N treatments, respectively. Denitrification losses were low (7–14 kg N ha-1 yr-1), increased with N application, and occurred predominantly during winter. Ammonia volatilization was estimated by micrometeorological mass balance at 15, 45 and 63 kg N ha-1 yr-1 in the 0, 225 and 360 N treatments, respectively. Most of the increase in ammonia loss was attributed to direct loss after application of the urea fertilizer.Leaching of nitrate was estimated (using ceramic cup samplers at 1 m soil depth, in conjunction with lysimeters) to be 13, 18 and 31 kg N ha-1 yr-1 in a year of relatively low rainfall (990 mm yr-1) and drainage (170–210 mm yr-1). Drainage was lower in the N fertilized treatments and this was attributed to enhanced evapotranspiration associated with increased grass growth.Nitrate-N concentrations in leachates increased gradually over time to 30 mg L-1 in the 360 N treatment whereas there was little temporal variation evident in the 0 (mean 6.4 mg L-1) and 225 (mean 10.1 mg L-1) N treatments. Thus, the 360 N treatment had a major effect by greatly reducing N2 fixation and increasing N losses, whereas the 225 N treatment had little effect on N2 fixation or on nitrate leaching. However, these results refer to the first year of the experiment and further measurements over time will determine the longer-term effects of these treatments on N inputs, transformations and losses.  相似文献

Sugarcane is one of the major important sugar yielding crops in Bangladesh. As an exhaustive crop, sugarcane removes a huge amount of plant nutrients from the soil. However, the combined use of organic and inorganic fertilizers can be a good approach to deal with nutrient depletion and promote sustainable crop production as well as improve soil health. Therefore, an attempt was made to identify the most fruitful and profitable integrated nutrient management on the aspects of growth, yield and quality of sugarcane in two consecutive growing seasons. Seven treatments: T1 =Control, T2 =165:55:120:30:10:2.5:4 kg N:P:K:S:Mg:Zn:B ha−1, T3 =Poultry Litter (PL) at 5 t ha−1 +95:51:87:9:10:2.5:4 kg N:P:K:S:Mg:Zn:B ha−1, T4 =Cow Dung (CD) at 15 t ha−1 + 36:52:60:17:10:2.5:4 kg N:P:K:S:Mg:Zn:B ha−1, T5 =Press Mud (PM) at 15 t ha−1 +10:50:43:0:10:2.5:4 kg N:P:K:S:Mg:Zn:B ha−1, T6 =Mustard Oil Cake (MOC) at 0.5 t ha−1 +140:54:115:25:10:2.5:4 kg N:P:K:S:Mg:Zn:B ha−1 and T7 =GM (Green Manure) at 5 t ha−1 +140:53:100:28:10:2.5:4 kg N:P:K:S:Mg:Zn:B ha−1 were used in this experiment. Two years data showed that treatment T3 produced the maximum amount of tillers, total dry matter yield, millable sugarcane, cane yield and sugar yield, followed by the T4 treatment. The highest stalk heights were recorded in the T3 treatment, which was statistically similar to all other treatments except T1 and T2. The juice quality parameters viz., brix and pol in cane were found significant in treatment T3 while the highest purity was obtained in the T7 treatment. All the data of Jaggery (goor) quality parameters, the highest sucrose content, color transmittance, Jaggery (goor) recovery and the lowest ash content of Jaggery (goor) were observed in the T3 treatment, which was statistically similar to the T4 treatment in both seasons. The highest cost of production was obtained from the T6 treatment while the highest gross return, net return and BCR were recorded in the T3 treatment. No significant changes were found in one cycle of sugarcane in initial and post-harvest soil characteristics viz., pH, organic carbon, total N, and available P, K and S contents due to integrated use of different fertilizer packages. From the experimental findings, it was concluded that treatment T3 followed by T4 treatment would be the better productive and profitable integrated nutrient management technology for ensuring higher yields and quality of sugarcane without soil fertility degradation in the High Ganges River Floodplain soils.  相似文献

Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum Gaertn) has been praised as one of green foods for humans in the 21st century. Effects of fertilization on leaf photosynthetic characteristics and grain yield of tartary buckwheat has not been yet reported in detail. Our experiment was set as a split-plot factorial. The main plots and subplots were designed by fertilizer ratio and rate as: NPK 1:1:1 (A1), NPK 1:4:2 (A2), NPK 1:2:3 (A3), and 300 (B1), 450 (B2), and 600 (B3) kg (NPK) ha–1. Our results showed that the grain yield was significantly and positively correlated with the net photosynthetic rate (P N), stomatal conductance (g s), transpiration rate (E), PAR, stomatal limitation value (Ls), chlorophyll content (SPAD value), and leaf area index (LAI), while significantly and negatively correlated with intercellular CO2 concentration (C i) and water-use efficiency (WUE). The grain yield, P N, g s, E, PAR, Ls, SPAD, and LAI increased and then decreased with enhanced fertilization, and their maximum values appeared in the A2B2 treatment. The C i and WUE decreased and then increased with enhanced fertilization, and their minimum values appeared in the A2B2 treatment. Our results suggested that fertilization had significant effects on the leaf photosynthetic capacity and grain yield of tartary buckwheat Yunqiao 1, and the best fertilization strategy was 450 kg ha–1 with NPK 1:4:2.  相似文献

Spatial variations in soil processes regulating mineral N losses to streams were studied in a small watershed near Toronto, Ontario. Annual net N mineralization in the 0–8 cm soil was measured in adjacent upland and riparian forest stands using in situ soil incubations from April 1985 to 1987. Mean annual rates of soil N mineralization and nitrification were higher in a maple soil (93.8 and 87.0 kg.ha–1) than in a pine soil (23.3 and 8.2 kg.ha–1 ). Very low mean rates of mineralization (3.3 kg.ha–1) and nitrification (3.4 kg.ha–1) were found in a riparian hemlock stand. Average NO3-N concentrations in soil solutions were 0.3–1.0 mg.L–1 in the maple stand and >0.06mg.L–1 in the pine stand. Concentrations of NO3–N in shallow ground water and stream water were 3–4× greater in a maple subwatershed than in a pine subwatershed. Rapid N uptake by vegetation was an important mechanism reducing solution losses of NO3–N in the maple stand. Low rates of nitrification were mainly responsible for negligible NO3–N solution losses in the pine stand.  相似文献

Summary Balance sheets were computed for total nitrogen and phosphorus in plough layer (0–15 cm) of a Typic Ustochrept soil under continuous multiple cropping for seven years (1971–72 to 1977–78) with a fixed rotation of pearl millet (Pennisetum typhoideum L.) wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) (Vigna sinensis Savi.) The treatments considered of soil test-based rates of N, P and K, applied both singly and in combinations together with farm yard manure, sulphur and zinc superimposed over optimum rates (100%) of NPK. Heavy, losses of N (762–899 kg ha−1) occurred in the plots which received high rates of Nviz. 150% of recommended NPK and 100% NPK plus FYM. Application of N alone accelerated N losses whereas addition of P, PK, PKS to N minimised such losses. Enrichment of P (66 to 198 kg ha−1) occurred in all phosphate-treated plots. A marginal net decrease (29–54 kg ha−1) in P levels was observed in control and N alone treatments.  相似文献

Increasing desire for renewable energy sources has increased research on biomass energy crops in marginal areas with low potential for food and fiber crop production. In this study, experiments were established on low phosphorus (P) soils in southern Oklahoma, USA to determine switchgrass biomass yield, nutrient concentrations, and nutrient removal responses to P and nitrogen (N) fertilizer application. Four P rates (0, 15, 30, and 45?kg?P?ha?1) and two N fertilizer rates (0 and 135?kg?N?ha?1) were evaluated at two locations (Ardmore and Waurika) for 3?years. While P fertilization had no effect on yield at Ardmore, application of 45?kg?P?ha?1 increased yield at Waurika by 17% from 10.5 to 12.3?Mg?ha?1. Across P fertilizer rates, N fertilizer application increased yields every year at both locations. In Ardmore, non-N-fertilized switchgrass produced 3.9, 6.7, and 8.8?Mg?ha?1, and N-fertilized produced 6.6, 15.7, and 16.6?Mg?ha?1 in 2008, 2009, and 2010, respectively. At Waurika, corresponding yields were 7.9, 8.4, and 12.2?Mg?ha?1 and 10.0, 12.1, and 15.9?Mg?ha?1. Applying 45?kg?P?ha?1 increased biomass N, and P concentration and N, P, potassium, and magnesium removal at both locations. Increased removal of nutrients with N fertilization was due to both increased biomass and biomass nutrient concentrations. In soils of generally low fertility and low plant available P, application of P fertilizer at 45?kg?P?ha?1 was beneficial for increasing biomass yields. Addition of N fertilizer improves stand establishment and biomass production on low P sites.  相似文献

In wetland ecosystem, nitrogen along with other elements and its management is most imperative for the production of so many aquatic food, non-food and beneficial medicinal plants and for the improvement of soil and water characteristics. With great significant importance of INM (integrated nutrient management) as sources, emphasizing on management on nitrogen as a key element and its divergence, a case study was undertaken on such aquatic food crops (starch and protein-rich, most popular and remunerative) in the farmers’ field of low-lying ‘Tal’ situation of New Alluvial Zone of Indian subtropics. The study was designed in factorial randomized block design, where, three important aquatic food crops (water chestnut (Trapa bispinosa Roxb.), makhana (Euryale ferox Salisb.) and water lily (Nymphaea spp.) as major factor and eleven combinations of organic and inorganic sources of nutrients as sub-factor was considered in the experiment. It revealed from the results that the production of fresh kernels or nuts of water chestnut (8.57 t ha−1), matured nut yield of makhana (3.06t ha−1) and flower stalks of water-lily as vegetables (6.38 t ha−1) including its nutritional quality (starch, protein, sugar and minerals) was remarkably influenced with the application of both organic (neem oilcake @ 0.2 t ha−1) and inorganic sources (NPK @ 30:20:20 kg ha−1 along with spraying of NPK @ 0.5% each over crop canopy at 20 days interval after transplanting) than the other INM combinations applied to the crops. Among the crops, highest WCYE (water chestnut yield equivalence) exhibited in makhana due to its high price of popped-form in the country, which is being exported to other countries at now. Sole application of both (organic and inorganic sources) with lower range did not produce any significant outcome from the study and exhibited lower value for all the crops. Besides production of food crops, INM also greatly influenced the soil and water characterization and it was favourably reflected in this study. The physico-chemical characteristics of soil (textural class, pH, organic carbon, organic matter, ammoniacal nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, available nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) are most important and contributed a significant improvement due to cultivation of these aquatic crops. Analysis of such wet bodies represented the water characteristics (pH, BOD, COD, CO =3 , HCO 3 , NO 3 N, SO 4 S and Cl) were most responsive, adaptable and quite favourable for the cultivation of these crops in this vast waste unused wetlands for the mankind without any environmental degradation.

The nitrogen contribution from the shoot and root system of symbiotically grown leucaena was evaluated in a field experiment on an Alfisol at IITA in Southern Nigeria. Maize in plots that received prunings from inoculated leucaena contained more N and grain yield was increased by 1.9 t.ha.–1. Large quantities of nitrogen were harvested with leucaena prunings (300 kg N ha–1 in six months) but the efficiency of utilization of this nitrogen by maize was low compared to inorganic N fertilizer (ammonium sulphate) at 80 kg N ha–1. Maize yield data indicated that nitrogen in leucaena prunigs was 34 and 45% as efficient as 80 kg N ha–1 of (NH4)2SO4 for uninoculated and inoculated plants with Rhizobium IRc 1045, respectively. In plots where the prunings were removed, the leaf litter and decaying roots and nodules contributed N equivalent of 32 kg ha–1. Twenty-five kg ha–1 was the inorganic N equivalent from nitrogen fixed symbiotically by leucaena when inoculated with Rhizobium strain IRc 1045. Application of prunings from inoculated leucaena resulted in higher soil ogranic C, total N, pH and available NO3.  相似文献
