依据田间试验和室内生化分析数据,按pxq交配模式,对10个冬小麦亲本25个杂交组合F1的蛋白质含量,赖氨酸含量,穗粒重和千粒重的一般配合力和特殊配合力效应进行了分析。结果表明,除蛋白质含量的sca外,其余性状的gca和sca效应均达极显著水平,表明在本研究中,基因的加性效应和非加性效应均起重要作用。由于一般配合力差δ^2sca大,表明基因的加性效应更加重要。根据gca,sca和δ^2sca估值,分  相似文献

The F(1) and F(2) progenies of a ten-parent diallel cross (excluding reciprocals) of hexaploid wheat (Triticum aestivum L. em. Thell) were analyzed for combining ability for quantitative and quality traits. The results indicated significant differences among the parents for general combining ability (gca) and crosses for specific combining ability (sca) for all the characters studied. The gca and sca components of variance were significant for all the traits. However, the gca component of variance was predominant indicating the predominance of additive gene effects for the traits studied. Among the parents Durgapura 65, HD 2285, Lok-1, Raj 1972 and HD 2329 were the best general combiners for grain yield and average to high combiners for tillers per plant, grain yield per spike, grains per spike and 1000-grain weight. The best specific crosses for grain yield were Sonalika x WH 157, HD 2428 x Durgapura 65, Durgapura 65 x Sonalika, HD 2428 x Lok-1 and CPAN 3004 x Raj 1972. The parent Raj 1972, Lok-1 and HD 2285 were the best general combiners for grain yield and protein content, however, Raj 3077 was the best general combiner for protein content. The most suitable specific crosses for protein content were HD 2329 x HD 2285, HD 2428 x Raj 1972 and CPAN 3004 x WH 157. Most of the specific crosses for grain yield as well as protein content involved high x average, average x average and average x poor general combiners. To ensure further increase in grain yield along with high protein, combinations of desirable yield components is advocated. Inclusion of F(1) hybrids showing high sca and having parents with good gca, into multiple crosses and/or bi-parental mating, or diallel selective mating could prove a worthwhile approach for further improvement of grain yield in bread wheat.  相似文献

The production of attractive, uniform true potato seed (TPS) progenies was investigated. Four breeding schemes were compared: intercrossing tetraploid cultivars (cv x cv); doubled dihaploids x cultivars (ddh x cv); cultivars x diploid unreduced-gamete producers (cv x FDR) and doubled dihaploids x diploid unreduced-gamete producers (ddh x FDR). Fifty three progenies and five clones were grown in a glasshouse in a randomised complete block design with three replicates of 25 plants per progeny and clone. Each plant's tubers were counted and the colour, shape, quality of skin finish, flesh colour, and commencai attractiveness (which includes yield) recorded. The most uniform progenies were also selected by visual comparison with the clones. For mean attractiveness, differences (P < 0.001) between breeding schemes and between progenies within breeding schemes were detected. The cv x cv and cv x FDR progenies were more attractive than clonal controls. There were significant additive and non-additive effects for attractiveness in all breeding schemes except cv x FDR. There were between-progeny differences (P < 0.001) for uniformity for all characters. Progenies uniform for one character could be variable for other traits. Breeding schemes gave different levels of uniformity (P < 0.001) for all characters except shape and flesh colour, but none gave low levels of variation for all traits. Doubled-dihaploid parents increased the variation in progenies. There were uniformity differences (P < 0.001) between progenies within breeding schemes for all characters. Evidence of additive and nonadditive genetic variation for uniformity in all traits was detected. In each breeding scheme, parents with good general combining ability (GCA) for uniformity in several characters were identified. Visually selected uniform progenies had parents with good GCAs for uniformity in a range of traits and high specific combining abilities (SCAs) for several traits. A desynaptic first-division restitution (FDR) clone and a male-sterile doubled-dihaploid clone had the best GCAs for tuber uniformity in TPS progenies. Achieving multitrait uniformity in TPS is problematic but may be aided by the selection of parents with GCAs for uniformity coupled with progeny testing to allow for non-additive effects.  相似文献

Summary Twenty-eight diallel trials over 8 years and two locations were analysed to estimate genetic variances for agronomic characters of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.). The data were analysed according to Method 4 and Model I of Griffing (1956). Days to flowering, plant height, and seed size were found to be predominantly under additive inheritance and were highly predictable. Both additive and non-additive genetic components were important for seed yield, number of branches, pods per plant, and seeds per pod. Although both general combining ability (gca) and specific combining ability (sca) varied significantly with generation, components of gca mean squares were invariably much larger than gca x generation interaction components, indicating that either the F1 or the F2 generation can be used to estimate the gca components effectively. Combined diallel analysis of F2s over locations revealed the importance of combining ability x location interactions and emphasized the need for testing over more than one location for the precise estimation of combining ability. The implications of these findings and those reported earlier in the literature on the breeding strategies/methods for the genetic improvement of agronomic characters in chickpea are discussed.ICRISAT journal article no. 1199  相似文献

Summary Four exotic and four indigenous strains of barley were used for making diallel crosses. The sets of parents and crosses making full, half and quarter diallel were analysed in a randomized block design for plant height, number of effective tillers, ear length, grain yield per plant, 100 grain weight and number of grains per ear.The three alternatives of diallel were similar with respect to the estimates of degree of dominance, general combining ability and specific combining ability, indicating that all these three methods of diallel were equally efficient. However, as the number of entries are minimum in quarter diallel, it would be economical in terms of cost, time and labour to estimate genetic parameters by this method. Average degree of dominance was found in the range of overdominance. The ranking of parents on the basis of their array mean was similar to the ranking based on gca effects. Similarly, the ranking of crosses on the basis of per se performance was similar to the ranking based on sca effects. This suggests that the selection of best general combiner or best cross combinations may be easier and more effective through array mean for per se performance rather than through high gca and sea effects, respectively. From among 56 crosses, IB-226 X X C-164 was the one which showed superiority for maximum number of characters followed by AB-12/59 X PTS-57. High sea effect for plant height, ear length, grain yield, 100 grain weight and number of grains per ear was the result of cross between parents having high X low general combining ability, indicating additive X dominance type of gene interaction. For number of effective tillers, high sca was produced by low x low general combiners, indicating dominance x dominance gene interaction.Part of a Ph. Four near-isonuclear polycytoplasmic versions of 81A and two of Pb 402A male-sterile lines of pearl millet (Pennisetum typhoides) were used in factorial matings with five inbred male testers in different combinations in three sets. The cytoplasmic differences were studied for several agronomic traits using mean values and general combining effects (gca) of male-sterile lines, and specific combining ability effects of hybrids. The fertility/ sterility behaviour of different male-sterile lines in crosses with common male parents was also studied. Significant differences among near-isonuclear polycytoplasmic lines were observed in mean values for a few traits such as plant height, leaf length and peduncle length, but the differences for combining ability were more pronounced. The A3 cytoplasm was a better general combiner than the A2 cytoplasm for grain yield and both A2 and A3 cytoplasms were better general combiners for leaf length and peduncle length. In addition, superiority of A3 cytoplasm for gca was observed for plant height and ear characters over the A2 cytoplasm in set II. A differential behaviour of cytoplasms, both in combination with a common pollinator and across pollinators, was observed for several traits. The results provide evidence for the distinctiveness of different cytoplasmic sources in pearl millet and for the influence of cytoplasmic factors on the phenotypic expression of nuclear genes. A diversification of male sterility sources in the breeding of pearl millet hybrids is suggested.  相似文献

Summary Morphologically similar leaf characters of two X-ray induced and independently isolated jute mutants from a common mother cultivar, JRO-632, were controlled by the same locus. However, they differed significantly in such quantitative characters as plant height, middle diameter, days to flower, node number and fibre yield/plant. Combining ability analysis from a 9 X 9 diallel set of crossing including these two mutants revealed that the mutants significantly differed in general combining ability (gca) effects for most of the traits in either direction or magnitude. Specific combining ability (sca) effects of the inter-mutant cross, as well as crosses with the common mother cultivar, JRO-632, also differed for most of the traits studied. It was suggested that X-irradiation induced random mutations effecting changes in the common background genotype, independent of the mutated locus.  相似文献

Summary Quantitative inheritance of resistance to Phytophthora pod rot (Ppr) was studied in cocoa hybrid progeny from 12 Trinitario x Amazonian crosses and their reciprocal crosses. The crossing scheme was similar to a factorial design. Disease was assessed by the number and percentage of infected pods on each tree. Highly significant differences due to general combining abilities (GCA) were obtained for all characters, except for the GCA of Trinitario on total pod production. Differences for specific combining ability (SCA) were not significant for all characters. There were no significant differences between reciprocal crosses. The Trinitario clone K82 provided the only source for the hybrid progenies of strong Ppr resistance to the hybrid progenies, while K20 provided moderate resistance. Other parental clones — KA2-101, KA5-201, KEE 2, KEE 5, and KEE 52 — produced progenies which were susceptible to Ppr. It is evident that resistance to Ppr in cocoa is inherited additively. Maternal and cytoplasmic effects were assumed to have no influence on inheritance of resistance. It is also concluded that resistance to Ppr of the kind shown by K82 is likely to be horizontal resistance. Breeding for high-yielding cultivars combined with Ppr resistance is the most effective way of controlling Ppr of cocoa on the crops of growers with small holdings in Papua New Guinea.  相似文献

A complete 4 x 4 diallel cross of CF#1 (C), C57BL/6NCrj (B) C3H/HeNCrj (H) and Yonakuni wild mice (Y, Mus musculus molossinus yonakuni) has been conducted to estimate the effects of sex, degree of heterosis, general combining ability (gca), specific combining ability (sca), maternal ability, and reciprocal cross on body weight at 1 (Wk1), 3 (Wk3), 6 (Wk6) and 10 (Wk10) weeks of age. A least squares analysis was performed on 828 mice and all sources of variation showed significant effects (P < 0.01) on body weight but not sex at Wk1 (P > 0.05). Males were heavier than females (P < 0.01) at Wk3, Wk6 and Wk10. C and Y were the heaviest and lightest in body weight, whereas H and B were intermediate. Differences in body weight were observed between linebred and linecross at all ages studied: 6.57%, 10.22%, 8.70% and 5.89% heterosis for the respective ages. The degree of gca and maternal effects can be ranked as C > H > B > Y. Crossing between C and H had greater sca than other combinations at all ages studied, whereas B x Y had the smallest. Mean body weight of the offspring from two-line reciprocal cross differed according to their dam. A relatively large proportion of additive genetic effects in contributing to the variation in offspring body weight was indicated.  相似文献

Three crosses of spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L. em Thell) involving six cultivars (WC29, WH291, SGP 14, RAJ. 1972, WH377 and HD 2329) were selected on the basis of combining ability analysis to study genetics of transgressive segregation for tillers/plant, grains/spike, 1000 grain weight and grain yield/plant using various mating designs. Diallel analysis indicated that both additive and non- additive components were significant for all the characters. On the basis of general combining ability and specific combining ability effects, the parents WH 291 and WH 377 were found to be good general combiners for tillers/ plant, 1000 grain weight and grain yield/plant. For grains/spike SGP 14 was found to be a good general combiner. The cross WH 377 × HD 2329 for tillers/plant, SGP 14 × Raj. 1972 for grains/spike and grain yield/plant and WC 29 × WH 291 for 1000 grain weight were found to be good cross combinations. Generation mean analysis indicated that the additive-dominance model was inadequate for all the characters in all the crosses except for 1000 grain weight in WC29 × WH291. Additive component was more pronounced than non-additive components for all the characters in all the crosses except for tillers/ plant in WH 377 × HD 2329. Predictions for transgressive segregants from F3 was more accurate than that from generation mean analysis. However, prediction from both the sources were equally efficient if additive-dominance model was adequate. In general, observed frequencies of transgressive segregants were more in F2 and BIPi than F4 but the majority of them were discarded on progeny testing. Biparental mating had an impact in increasing the frequencies of transgressive segregants for different characters in all the crosses. The crosses, WH 377 × HD 2329 for grain yield/ plant, SGP 14 × Raj. 1972 for tillers/plant and WC 29 × WH 291 for grains/spike and 1000 grain weight were found to be potential crosses for transgressive segregants. A comparison of combining ability of parents and crosses, and observed and predicted frequencies of transgressive segregants indicated that the potential crosses for transgressive segregants were those that had high sea effects and involved high and low general combiners. The crosses involving low general combiners irrespective of their sea effects showed poor performance with respect to transgressive segregation.  相似文献

Summary The ability to predict agronomic performance of progeny from a cross would be a great benefit to plant breeders in selecting parents. The predictive value of parental genetic relationships estimating F1 progeny means and F4 family variances of nine argronomic traits was tested in 76 oat crosses, using genetic distance measures based on coefficients-of-parentage, quantitatively inherited morphological characters, and discretely inherited biochemical and morphological characters. Coefficients-of-parentage were better predictors of F1 performance than similarity measures derived from plant morphology or discretely inherited characters. Combined distance measures were better estimators of F1 specific combining ability (SCA) effects than any single measure. Among cultivars of similar adaptation and quantitative morphology, crosses between parents with high coefficients-of-parentage gave higher SCA effect values than crosses of distantly related parents for grain yield and total biomass. The opposite was found for crosses among cultivars of different adaptation or quantitative morphology. The best predictor of trait variances among F4 families was coefficients-of-parentage. Crosses between more distantly related parents produced larger variances among families than crosses between closely related parents for plant biomass. For grain yield, test weight, heading date, grain filling period, and maturity date, crosses between more closely related parents produced larger among-family variances than crosses of distantly related parents. Crosses between more distantly related parents involved at least one parent unadapted to central New York, and resulted in most of the progeny being generally unadapted. This, in part, may account for the low genetic variances for heading date, test weight, and grain yield in crosses of distantly related parents.  相似文献

The thrips herbivore Apterothrips apteris reproduces both sexually and parthenogenetically and exhibits fine-scale local adaptation to individual phenotypes of its host plant, Erigeron glaucus. We ask whether we can disrupt the ability of thrips to use progeny of their “home”-plant clone by outcrossing females with males from other plant clones. We compare the performance of sexually produced thrips to that of parthenogenetically produced thrips on plant progeny of the home clone. Because we use thrips from plant clones experiencing both high and low infestations by thrips, we also ask whether the relative performance of “sexuals” versus “parthenogens” differs with the infestation level of the home clone. Plant progeny of 10 E. glaucus clones were either the product of selfing or of outcrossing with the other 9 clones. We have shown in previous work that selfing preserved the parental phenotype with respect to attack by thrips. Because of this result, we predicted that parthenogens should fare better than sexuals on the selfed progeny of the home-plant clone. Our results, however, showed the contrary: sexuals outperformed parthenogens on these selfed plants. We also found that plant characters appear to influence thrips performance more than the mating system of thrips. We found no evidence for outbreeding depression in this system.  相似文献

Combining ability for grain yield, yield components, and several agronomic and qualitative traits, was studied in a seven-parent diallel cross. The 21 F1 hybrids and the seven parental cultivars were grown in replicated plot trials sown at normal seed density in three locations in the years 1992 and 1993. The effects of general combining ability (gca) were highly significant for all the traits measured with the exception of seeds per spikelet, while the specific combining ability (sca) effects were statistically significant for grain yield, plant height, heading time, for all the yield components, and for the Chopin alveographic parameters P and P/L ratio. For the majority of the traits measured gca was greater than sca. Standard heterosis (sh) for grain yield, i.e., the superiority of the hybrids over the best pure line cultivar(cv Eridano), was only 3.3%, confirming previous finding which indicate sh effects in the range of 10%. The most interesting hybrid derived from the cross Maestra x Golia revealed a yield level approaching that of the highest yielding cv Eridano but appeared more interesting because of its reduced plant height and superior bread-making quality, signifying a selling price 30% higher. It was concluded, therefore, that the first generation of hybrids, likely to appear on the market in the next few years, will be characterized by a yield potential only slightly superior to that of the best standard cvs but associated with other desirable traits, such as bread-making quality.  相似文献

采用Griffing 6×6完全双列杂交设计,对长江流域内秋冬栽培的6个主要花椰菜(Brassica oleraceaLinn.var.botrytis Linn.)资源的自交系育种材料的球高、球径、单球重、成熟期、毛花率和内叶盖球度等6个花球主要经济性状进行一般配合力(GCA)和特殊配合力(SCA)分析,并对花椰菜的各个性状进行了遗传相关性分析。结果表明:花椰菜的6个经济性状同时受加性和非加性效应控制。其中成熟期、毛花率、球高和内叶盖球度性状的一般配合力大于特殊配合力,受加性基因效应影响大;而球径、单球重等性状间一般配合力小于特殊配合力,在相当程度上受非加性基因控制。花椰菜各性状的狭义遗传力由大到小依次为:成熟期、毛花率、内叶盖球度、球高、球径和单球重。花椰菜的球高与单球重、球径与单球重、球高与成熟期、单球重与内叶盖球度、成熟期与内叶盖球度等5个成对性状应该同时选择;而球高与毛花率、球高与内叶盖球度、球径与成熟期、球径与毛花率、单球重与毛花率、成熟期与毛花率、毛花率与内叶盖球度等7个成对性状的选择可以独立进行,彼此间不会相互影响,可实现同一组合或品种具备多种优质性状。在6个自交系中,P2和P5是理想亲本;P4是配制耐寒组合的亲本材料;亲本P6应用价值最低。组合中表现最好的为P2×P4,各性状的特殊配合力均较优。  相似文献

Summary Genetic variation in disease resistance to vascular-streak dieback (Vsd) was studied in 54 cocoa hybrid progenies from Trinitario x Amazonian crosses. The disease was assessed by the number of Vsd infected branches per tree, total length of infected branches, average depth of disease penetration within branches and percentages of infected and dead plants. Highly significant differences due to general combining ability for both Trinitario female parents and Amazonian male parents were obtained for all characters. Percent of dead plants was the only character where specific combining ability was also important. Gene effects were predominantly additive for most characters, indicating that selection for progenies resistant to Vsd is effective in the present breeding population. There is strong evidence that resistance to Vsd is in the form of horizontal resistance. It is polygenic and largely inherited as additive genes. Therefore, breeding for resistance is an effective means of controlling Vsd in Papua New Guinea.  相似文献

This paper aims to discover the genetic parameters underlying the physiological efficiency and panicle characters of hill rice plants. In order to improve these characters, it is crucial to learn the nature and magnitude of gene action involved in inheritance of panicle and physiological traits. With this purpose, we combined a line × tester analysis of crosses involving local cultivars and indigenous and exotic germplasm grown at the northeastern hill region of India. From the study it follows that number of tillers per hill, number of ear bearing tillers per hill, panicle length, panicle weight, number of grains per panicle, number of filled grains per panicle, pollen fertility, spikelet fertility, leaf area index, total chlorophyll content and harvest index were mainly under the control of non-additive gene action, while total dry matter accumulation and grain yield per plant were under the control of additive gene action. The genotypes DR 92, Ngoba, IET 16451 and UPR 1425-1-1-4 were identified as superior parents with high performance and significant general combining ability effects. For heterosis breeding six cross combinations, viz., DR 92/IET 16471, DR 92/UPR 1425-1-1-4, DR 92/IET 15482, Ngoba/IET 16469, Ngoba/H274-27-24, Manipuri/IET 16451, and for recombination breeding two cross combinations, viz., DR 92/IET 16470 and Ngoba/UPR 1425- 1-1-4, were found suitable to ameliorate the panicle and physiological traits of hill rice grown in northeastern India.  相似文献

以蓝桉 6× 6完全双列交配的子代测定林为试验材料 ,对树高、胸径、材积、枝下高、冠幅、弯曲度和枝径比 7个性状的遗传效应进行分析。结果表明 ,这些性状主要受一般配合力 (GCA)、特殊配合力 (SCA)和特殊正反交效应(SRE)的控制 ,母本效应 (FEM)对弯曲度有较小作用 ,而父本效应 (MAL)对所有性状影响甚微。有 3个亲本对改良数量性状或树干品质有显著的作用 ,有 8个组合对提高数量性状遗传增益的贡献极显著或显著。蓝桉的数量性状既有自交衰退 ,也有自交优势。对蓝桉育种的策略和方法也提出了建议  相似文献

研究了重庆地区金发草在3种基质种生境中的生长特征.结果表明,种生境下金发草基径、冠幅、高度及根系面积、最长根和根深差异极显著.3种基质中,紫色土中金发草的地上部分基径(15.18cm)、冠幅(3086.77cm2)和高度(66.8cm)均为最大值,而紫色砂岩金发草的基径(10.89cm)、冠幅(1868.79cm2)和高度(60.7cm)均为最小值,但差异不显著.砂岩中金发草的根系比紫色土中分布广泛,差异显著,说明岩石生境中金发草将较多生物量投入到根系,通过增加根系的生长,提高其在岩石上的固着能力,扩大根系吸收面积,忍耐岩石基质的干燥和贫瘠.  相似文献

选用生产上常用的5个杂交水稻不育胞质与5个高配合力恢复系,采用NCII模式对产量性状、芒、粒形等主要农艺性状的亲本配合力、方差贡献率及遗传力进行分析。结果表明:胞质效应和恢复系效应在所测性状中均达到显著或极显著差异水平,芒长、粒形、单穗重受环境的影响较小;产量和收获指数的非加性遗传作用明显,受环境效应的影响也较大。亲本效应方面,恢复系的效应远大于胞质效应;产量性状JW型(爪哇型)胞质和蜀恢527的一般配合力效应较高,同时JW型胞质和R21属于Ⅰ类亲本;粒形性状G型(冈型)胞质和蜀恢527的一般配合力效应最高,同时均属于Ⅰ类亲本。  相似文献
