Summary Thirty-one toria genotypes were compared with three well-established cultivars, Ludhiana Composite-2, K-1 and TCSU-2 (standard testers). The genotypes, which were almost identical to a standard tester in response to environmental variations and which also had other desirable characteristics, were considered to be acceptable for commercial cultivation. Using this criterion, TCSU-7, TH-5 and TH-4 were found to be acceptable for commercial cultivation. TH-4 and TCSU-7 were found superior to TH-5 if r2 can be considered as a measure of the agronomical manipulations expected in environmental variations.  相似文献

Before starting a breeding program aimed at improving the nitrogen nutrition ofVicia faba, the authors tried an alternative technique to the acetylene reduction assay, to measure some genetic variability in the plant material. The quantity of dinitrogen fixed by several cultivars ofVicia faba was estimated using a low enrichment15N tracer method and high precision15N mass spectrometry. The fababeans were cultivated for two years in two different soils. The percentage of fixed dinitrogen in the seed varied between genotypes from 40 to 83% of the total nitrogen and was positively correlated with the total seed nitrogen (r=0.64 to 0.86). A highly significant positive correlation was also found between the total seed nitrogen and the quantity of fixed dinitrogen in the seed (r=0.95 to 0.99). The technique used to measure dinitrogen fixation proved to be useful and reliable enough to discriminate between various genotypes, grown over a period of two years in two different soils. However, several non-fixing control plants showed significant differences in their15N enrichment and the problem of choosing a good reference plant was raised and discussed.  相似文献

The relationship between ash content and carbon isotope discrimination () was studied in durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) grown in a Mediterranean region (Northwest Syria) under three different water regimes (hereafter referred to as environments). In two of these environments, 144 genotypes were cultivated under rain-fed conditions. In the third environment, 125 genotypes were cultivated under irrigation. Ash content was measured in the flag leaf about 3 weeks after anthesis, whereas was analysed in mature kernels. Total transpiration of the photosynthetic tissues of the culm contributing, from heading to maturity, to the filling of kernels was also estimated. Leaf ash content, expressed either on dry matter or leaf area basis or as total ash per blade, correlated positively (p< 0.001) with in the three environments. However, this relationship was not the result of a positive correlation across genotypes between and tissue water content. Moreover, only a small part of the variation in across genotypes was explained by concomitant changes in ash content. When all genotypes across the three environments were plotted, and ash content followed a non-linear relationship (r 2 = 74), with tending to a plateau as the ash content increased. However, for the set of genotypes and environments combined, total ash content per leaf blade was positively and linearly related (r 2 = 0.76) with the accumulated culm transpiration. The non-linear nature of the relationship between ash content and is sustained by the fact that culm transpiration also showed a non-linear relationship with kernel . Therefore, differences in leaf ash content between environments, and to a lesser extent between genotypes, seem to be brought about by variations in accumulated transpiration during grain formation.  相似文献

Summary Thirty-one toria genotypes were grown in 12 artificially created environments in order to study genetic divergence. D2 estimates based on 12 characters were used in obtaining the clustering pattern and inter- and intracluster distances. Selection of divergent parents has been made in three ways, i.e., on the basis of (a) genetic divergence exhibited when grown in the richest and most productive environment; (b) stable and consistent values of divergence over all 12 environments and (c) pooled analysis. Out of 31 genotypes, on the basis of stability, high yield and divergence six genotypes were found to be suitable for use in a breeding programme.  相似文献

Correlation and path-coefficient analyses have been successful tools in developing selection criteria. Since increased seed yield is an important goal in our pearl millet x elephantgrass [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R.Br. x P. purpureum Schum.] hexaploid breeding program, we used correlation and path-coefficient analyses on seed data. This study was conducted to develop appropriate selection criteria by determining the direct and indirect effects of seed-yield components on seed yield plant-1. Number of tillers plant-1, panicles tiller-1, seeds panicle-1, 100-seed weight, and seed yield plant-1, were estimated for individual plants in seven families. Phenotypic (rp) and genetic correlations (rg) were calculated, and path analyses (phenotypic and genetic) were carried out according to predetermined causal relationships. Phenotypic and genetic correlations differed in several cases due to large environmental variance and covariance. Phenotypically, all components were positively and significantly associated with seed yield plant-1. Genotypically, only seeds panicle-1 and 100-seed weight were significantly correlated. These two components were also positively correlated (r p=0.55, r g=0.63), so simultaneous improvement for both components would be feasible. Panicles tiller-1 and seeds panicle-1 were negatively correlated (r g=-0.97). In the path analyses, all direct effects of the components on seed yield plant-1 were positive. Phenotypic indirect effects were not as important as genetic indirect effects. The components seeds panicle-1 and 100-seed weight influenced seed yield plant-1 the greatest, both directly and indirectly.Florida Agricultural Experimental Station Journal Series No. R-03339  相似文献

Plant competition and disease in genetically diverse wheat populations   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
Summary The direct and indirect effects of plant genetic diversity on epidemics and the influence of disease on plant competition were investigated using the wheat (Triticum aestivum)/stripe rust (Puccinia striiformis) system. Replacement series consisting of a susceptible and a resistant wheat genotype or two wheat genotypes susceptible to different races of stripe rust were grown in the presence and absence of the pathogen. Stripe rust severity, number of seed heads, seed yield, and seed weight were determined separately for each wheat genotype in the mixtures and the pure stands. The frequency of susceptible genotypes in a mixture explained up to 67% of the variation in disease severity. However, competitive interactions among plant genotypes sometimes appeared to alter susceptibility and obscured the relationship. In pure stands of single genotypes, disease severity explained between 52 and 58% of the variation in seed yield. In mixtures, coefficients of determination were only 10 and 31%, suggesting a strong influence of plant-plant interactions on seed yield. These results suggest that host-parasite coevolutionary models need to account for the strong effect that specific plant genotype combinations may have on disease severity and plant reproduction.Paper No. 9818 of the journal series of the Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station  相似文献

Isogenic diploid and tetraploid alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) was studied with molecular markers to help understand why diploid performance and breeding behavior does not always predict that of tetraploids. In a previous study of partially heterozygous alfalfa genotypes, we detected a low correlation between yields of isogenic diploid (2x) and tetraploid (4x) single-cross progenies, and genetic distances were more highly correlated with yields of tetraploids than diploids. These differences may be related to the level of RFLP heterozygosity expected among progenies derived from heterozygous parents at the two ploidy levels. The objectives of this study were to determine the relationships among genetic distance, forage yield and heterozygosity in isogenic 2 x and 4 x alfalfa populations. Four diploid genotypes were chromosome doubled to produce corresponding isogenic autotetraploids, and these genotypes were mated in 4 × 4 diallels to produce 6 single-cross families at each ploidy level for field evaluation. Allele compositions of parents were determined at 33 RFLP loci by monitoring segregation of homologous restriction fragments among individuals within progenies, and these were used to estimate RFLP heterozygosity levels for all single-cross progenies at both ploidy levels. RFLP heterozygosity rankings were identical between progenies of isogenic diploid and tetraploid parents; but significant associations (P < 0.05) between estimated heterozygosity levels and forage yield were detected only at the tetraploid level. Since tetraploid families were nearly 25% more heterozygous than the corresponding diploid families, inconsistencies in the association between molecular marker diversity and forage yields of isogenic 2 x and 4 x single crosses may be due to recessive alleles that are expressed in diploids but masked in tetraploids. The gene action involved in heterosis may be the same at both ploidy levels; however, tetraploids benefit from greater complementary gene interactions than are possible for equivalent diploids. Breeding for high seed protein concentration in soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] often results in lower yield, but the basis for this negative relationship is not well understood. To address this question, we evaluated the N acquisition characteristics of three high protein and three normal soybean genotypes in the field for 3 years. Plants were grown in 0.76 m rows following conventional cultural practices and water stress was minimized with sprinkler irrigation. We determined the mass and N concentration of leaves, petioles and stems at the beginning of seed filling (growth stage R5) and of stems at maturity. The N concentration of abscised leaves and petioles was also determined. There was significant variation among genotypes in total seed N (g m−2) at maturity (range from 14.7 to 24.4 g N m−2) as a result of variation in seed N concentration and yield. There was no evidence that the larger amounts of mature seed N were associated with a larger vegetative N reservoir at growth stage R5 as determined by vegetative mass at R5 or the concentration of N in vegetative tissues. Increasing seed N at maturity did not lower the N concentration in abscised leaves and petioles, or in the stems at maturity. The rate and timing of leaf senescence (loss of chlorophyll) was essentially the same for all genotypes. With no increase in the contribution from redistributed N, increases in N uptake or fixation during seed filling must have been responsible for the higher levels of seed N at maturity in high-protein genotypes. These data suggest that increasing total seed N at maturity by selecting for higher seed protein concentration or higher yield in soybean does not require, as some models suggest, a larger vegetative N reservoir at the beginning of seed filling or more rapid senescence.  相似文献

Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is able to fix 20–60 kg N ha–1 under tropical environments in Brazil, but these amounts are inadequate to meet the N requirement for economically attractive seed yields. When the plant is supplemented with N fertilizer, N2 fixation by Rhizobium can be suppressed even at low rates of N. Using the 15N enriched method, two field experiments were conducted to compare the effect of foliar and soil applications of N-urea on N2 fixation traits and seed yield. All treatments received a similar fertilization including 10 kg N ha–1 at sowing. Increasing rates of N (10, 30 and 50 kg N ha–1) were applied for both methods. Foliar application significantly enhanced nodulation, N2 fixation (acetylene reduction activity) and yield at low N level (10 kg N ha–1). Foliar nitrogen was less suppressive to nodulation, even at higher N levels, than soil N treatments. In the site where established Rhizobium was in low numbers, inoculation contributed substantially to increased N2 fixation traits and yield. Both foliar and soil methods inhibited nodulation at high N rates and did not significantly increase bean yield, when comparing low (10 kg N ha–1) and high (50 kg N ha–1) rates applied after emergence. In both experiments, up to 30 kg N ha–1 of biologically fixed N2 were obtained when low rates of N were applied onto the leaves.  相似文献

In areas with a short growing season the poor adaptability of soybean [Glycine max Meer. (L.)] to cool soil conditions is considered the primary yield limiting factor. Soybean requires temperatures in the 25 to 30°C range for optimum N2-fixation and yield. Field studies were conducted in 1990 and 1991 at Montreal, Quebec to determine whether adaptability to cool soil conditions, with respect to earlier symbiosis establishment and function, existed among either Bradyrhizobium strains or soybean genotypes. An early maturing isoline of the soybean cultivar Evans and the cultivar Maple Arrow were inoculated with one of four strains isolated from the cold soils of Hakkaido, northern Japan, or the commercially used strains 532C or USDA110, at two planting dates. Plot biomass and nodulation were assessed at seedling (V2), and flowering(R2) growth stages and harvest maturity. Soybean genotypes did not differ for pre-flowering nodulation or N2-fixation in the cool spring conditions of the first year. Seasonal N2-fixation rates were also determined at the final harvest by the N-balance and 15N-isotope dilution methods. Significantly higher symbiotic activity was found for two of the four Hakkaido strains and was reflected in higher final soybean seed yield and total N2-fixation for the growing season, as compared to the two commercial strains. Planting 14 days earlier resulted in greater early vegetative and total seasonal N2 fixation and yield in the second year when soil temperatures were warmer, emphasizing the need for the development of soybean-Bradyrhizobium combinations superior in nodule development and function under cool soil conditions.  相似文献

Trigonelline Concentration in Field-Grown Soybean in Response to Irrigation   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Trigonelline (TRG) is a conjugate of nicotinic acid, and is postulated to function as a compatible solute in response to salinity- and water deficit-stresses. TRG concentrations and several agronomic characteristics were measured under irrigated field and non-irrigated field conditions within 18 soybean (Glycine max) genotypes using leaves taken from different growth stages (vegetative, flowering and pod development). Under irrigation, relative water content (RWC) ranged from 90.0 to 99.6 %. Under non-irrigation, RWC ranged from 86.3 to 97.5 %. TRG concentration ranged from 364 to 555 μg g−1(d.m.) under irrigation, and from 404 to 570 μg g−1(d.m.) under non-irrigation. TRG concentrations increased in the majority of genotypes (15 of 18) under non-irrigation even though RWC did not significantly differ in many genotypes between treatments. TRG decreased as plants progressed to pod development and seed filling. Mean seed yield under non-irrigated conditions declined 55 % relative to the irrigated controls. TRG concentrations among all genotypes were significantly correlated with seed yield. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Following the recognition of the importance of dealing with the effects of genotype-by-environment (G ×E) interaction in multi-environment testing of genotypes in plant breeding programs, there has been substantial development in the area of analytical methodology to quantify and describe these interactions. Three major areas where there have been developments are the analysis of variance, indirect selection, and pattern analysis methodologies. This has resulted in a wide range of analytical methods each with their own advocates. There is little doubt that the development of these methodologies has greatly contributed to an enhanced understanding of the magnitude and form ofG ×E interactions and our ability to quantify their presence in a multi-environment experiment. However, our understanding of the environmental and physiological bases of the nature ofG ×E interactions in plant breeding has not improved commensurably with the availability of these methodologies. This may in part be due to concentration on the statistical aspects of the analytical methodologies rather than on the complementary resolution of the biological basis of the differences in genotypic adaptation observed in plant breeding experiments. There are clear relationships between many of the analytical methodologies used for studying genotypic variation andG ×E interaction in plant breeding experiments. However, from the numerous discussions on the relative merits of alternative ways of analysingG ×E interactions which can be found in the literature, these relationships do not appear to be widely appreciated. This paper outlines the relevant theoretical relationships between the analysis of variance, indirect selection and pattern analysis methodologies, and their practical implications for the plant breeder interested in assessing the effects ofG ×E interaction on the response to selection. The variance components estimated from the combined analysis of variance can be used to judge the relative magnitude of genotypic andG ×E interaction variance. Where concern is on the effect of lack of correlation among environments, theG ×E interaction component can be partitioned into a component due to heterogeneity of genotypic variance among environments and another due to the lack of correlation among environments. In addition, the pooled genetic correlation among all environments can be estimated as the intraclass correlation from the variance components of the combined analysis of variance. WhereG ×E interaction accounts for a large proportion of the variation among genotypes, the individual genetic correlations between environments could be investigated rather than the pooled genetic correlation. Indirect selection theory can be applied to the case where the same character is measured on the same genotypes in different environments. Where there are no correlations of error effects among environments, the phenotypic correlation between environments may be used to investigate indirect response to selection. Pattern analysis (classification and ordination) methods based on standardised data can be used to summarise the relationships among environments in terms of the scope to exploit indirect selection. With the availability of this range of analytical methodology, it is now possible to investigate the results of more comprehensive experiments which attempt to understand the nature of differences in genotypic adaptation. Hence a greater focus of interest on understanding the causes of the interaction can be achieved.  相似文献

The practice of seeding soybeans following paddy rice in Thailand has encountered difficulties in seedling germination, nodulation and crop establishment. This research project evaluated the choice of a non-fixing control to quantify N2 fixation by15N isotope dilution, and the effect of tillage regime, soybean cultivar, strain ofBradyrhizobium japonicum and P fertilization on yield and N2 fixation after paddy rice in northern and central Thailand.Japanese non-nodulating lines Tol-0 and A62-2 were the most appropriatecontrol plants for15N isotope dilution for Thai soybeans in these soils which contained indigenous rhizobia. Cereals such as maize, sorghum and barley were also appropriate controls at some sites. The choice of the appropriate non-fixing control plant for the15N isotope dilution technique remains a dilemma and no alternative exists other than to use several possible controls with each experiment. Acetylene reduction assay (ARA) proved of little value for screening varieties on their N2 fixing capacity. The recommended Thai soybean cultivars (SJ1, 2, 4, 5) and an advanced line 16–4 differed little in their ability to support N2 fixation or yield, possibly due to similar breeding ancestry. The ten AVRDC (ASET) lines showed considerable genotypic control in their ability to utilize their three available N sources (soil, fertilizer, atmosphere) and to translate them into yields. None of these lines were consistently superior to Thai cultivars SJ4 or SJ5 although ASET lines 129, 209 and 217 showed considerable promise.Neither recommended Thai or ASET cultivars were affected by tillage regime. Zero tillage resulted in superior N2 fixation and yield at two sites but conventional tillage was superior at another site. Soybean cultivars grown in Thailand were well adapted to zero tillage. Levels of N2 fixation were similar to world figures, averaging more than 100 kg N ha–1 and supplying over 50% of the plant's N yield. However, seed yields seldom exceeded 2 t ha–1, well below yields for temperately-grown soybeans. It is not clear why Thai soybeans support N2 fixation, but do not translate this into higher seed yields.  相似文献

Summary In winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), the development of a methodology to estimate genetic divergence between parental lines, when combined with knowledge of parental performance, could be beneficial in the prediction of bulk progeny performance. The objective of this study was to relate F2 heterosis for grain yield and its components in 116 crosses to two independent estimates of genetic divergence among 28 parental genotypes of diverse origins. Genetic divergence between parents was estimated from (a) pedigree relationships (coefficients of kinship) determined without experimentation, and (b) quantitative traits measured in two years of field experimentation in Kansas and North Carolina, USA. These distances, designated (1 -r) and G, respectively, provided ample differentiation among the parents. The 116 F2 bulks were evaluated at four locations in Kansas and North Carolina in one year. Significant rank correlations of 0.46 (P = 0.01) and 0.44 (P = 0.01) were observed between G and grain yield and kernel number heterosis, respectively. Although (1 -r) was poorly associated with grain yield heterosis, G and midparent performance combined to account for 50% of the variation in F2 yields among crosses when (1 -r) was above the median value, whereas they accounted for only 9% of the variation among crosses when (1-r) was below the median. Midparent and (1 -r) had equal effects on F2 grain yield (R 2= 0.40) when G was greater than the median value. A breeding strategy is proposed whereby parents are first selected on the basis of performance per se and, subsequently, crosses are made between genetically divergent parents that have both large quantitative (G) and pedigree divergence (1 -r).Paper No. 12162 of the Journal Series of the North Carolina Agricultural Research Service, Raleigh, NC 27695-7643, and Contribution No. 89-396-J of the Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station, Manhattan, KS 66506  相似文献

In soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] heterosis has been reported for seed yield. Molecular markers may be useful to select diverse parents for the expression of heterosis and yield improvement. The objective of this study was to determine if molecular markers could be used to predict yield heterosis in soybean. From each Maturity Group (MG) II and III, 21 genotypes were selected on the basis of high yield (HY), different geographic origin (GO), and isozyme loci (ISO) and for diversity in restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLP), and crosses were made within MGs and selection criteria groups to obtain 6 F1 hybrids per group. The 21 parents and the 24 F1 hybrids of each MG were evaluated for yield in replicated tests at two locations in 2 years, and midparent heterosis (MPH) and high-parent heterosis (HPH) estimates were calculated. On the basis of hybrid performance during the first year, 12 parents (3 per selection criteria group) were chosen in each MG to conduct a second RFLP analysis using 129 probes. Genetic distances (GDM) for pairs of the 12 genotypes were calculated with this RFLP information and correlated with MPH and HPH estimates. Significant MPH averages for seed yield were observed in the combined analysis of variance in each of the four selection criteria groups of MG II, and in the HY, ISO, and GO of MG III. Significant HPH averages were observed only in the ISO and GO groups of MG II. The greatest frequency of F1 hybrids with significant MPH was observed in the ISO and GO groups of both MGs. For HPH, the greatest frequency was observed in the ISO group of both MGs. In both MGs, the ISO group had the largest absolute MPH value; the RFLP group had generally the smallest. The observations indicated that the expression of heterosis in seed yield might be associated with diversity in the isozyme loci present in the parents. For the genotypes included in the second RFLP analysis, correlations of GDMs with MPH and HPH values on an entry-mean basis were low and not significant, indicating that heterosis in yield may not be associated with genetic diversity at the molecular level as determined by RFLPs. The results suggest that in soybean, parent selection on the basis of RFLPs and isozyme loci to exploit heterosis in seed yield may not be feasible. There was no association between genetic distance estimated by the RFLP analysis and seed yield heterosis, and in spite of the observed relationship between isozyme loci and heterosis for yield, the practicality of using the isozyme markers to select parents may be limited because of the reduced number of assayable isozyme loci in soybean. Summary Genotype x environment (GE) interaction encountered in experiments complicates genotype selection and varietal recommendation. The integration of yield and stability of genotypes into a single parameter may make selection and recommendation easier. Kang developed a rank-sum method that allows selection for both yield and the stability variance statistics ( i 2 or s i 2 ) of Shukla. The objective of this research was to compare the rank-sum selection method to selection based on yield alone in five international maize (Zea mays L.) yield trials. Ranks were assigned for yield (the highest mean yield received a rank of 1) and for i 2 and s i 2 (the lowest value received a rank of 1). The yield and i 2 ranks and/or the yield and s i 2 ranks for each genotype were summed. Each trial contained two reference entries (REs). Yield rank or rank-sum of each genotype was compared to yield rank or rank-sum of the best RE (BRE). GE interaction was significant for all trials. Heterogeneity in the GE interaction due to the linear effect of a covariate (differences in fertility and/or cultural practices) was significant in Trials 1, 2, and 5. Overall, in all trials, 29 genotypes were selected on the basis of yield alone. On the basis of i 2 and yield rank-sum, 32 genotypes were identified, with 11 being lower yielding than the 29 yield-based selections. On the basis of s i 2 and yield rank-sum, 31 genotypes were selected, with 11 being lower yielding than the yield-bases selections. Obviously, yield is sacrificed when the rank-sum method is used in the selection process. However, selection based on yield alone may not be adequate when GE interaction is significant because of testing in diverse environments.  相似文献

Thirty one selected bean lines were evaluated in the field for ability to support N2 fixation when intercropped with maize which received 0, 30 and 60 kg N ha–1 as ammonium sulphate. The amount of fixed N2 was estimated using the natural variation of 15N and wheat as the standard non-fixing crop. Nitrogen as low as 15 kg N ha–1 at sowing suppressed nodule weight and activity (acetylene reduction activity) but not nodule number, suggesting that the main effect of mineral N was on nodule development and function. 15N data revealed a high potential of the bean genotypes to fix N2, with the most promising ones averaging between 50–60% of seed N coming from fixation. Bean lines CNF-480, Puebla-152, Mexico-309, Negro Argel, CNF-178, Venezuela-350 and WBR22-3, WBR22-50 and WBR22-55 were ranked as good fixers.  相似文献

In a study of androgenesis in 90 Norwegian genotypes of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.), heritabilities ranged from h b 2 =0.46 to 0.80. Very high or completely positive genotypic correlations were found between most characters of androgenetic response (e.g. embryo-like structures per 100 anthers, plants per 100 embryo-like structures, albino plants per 100 anthers, green plants per 100 anthers). Three genotypes, 2 Norwegian (7-5 and 9-5) and 1 Danish (245), which had significantly different androgenetic responses were selected to study the genetic control of the processes. Genotypes 7-5 and 9-5 were highly embryogenie, 7–5 and 245 were relatively high producers of green plants, while 9-5 was unable to produce green plants. The six possible reciprocal crosses between these three genotypes were made, and 10 or 11 F1 plants from each cross were used for anther culture experiments. The cross 7-5 x 245 showed average superiority over both parents for total plant regeneration and green plant production, results not previously reported. The phenotypic correlations estimated among progenies from the crosses ranged from r=-0.99*** to 0.81***. These considerable changes, relative to the results of the screening experiment, are most likely the result of changed allele frequencies caused by the strong selection of parents in these crosses, and a relatively simple genetical control. This is also inferred from the large transgressive segregation observed.Abbreviations ANT anthers - ELS embryo-like structures - ALB albino plants - GRP green plants - DH doubled haploid plants  相似文献

The heritability, the number of segregating genes and the type of gene interaction of nine agronomic traits were analysed based on F2 populations of synthetic oilseedBrassica napus produced from interspecific hybridization ofB. campestris andB. oleracea through ovary culture. The nine traits—plant height, stem width, number of branches, length of main raceme, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, length of pod, seed weight per plant and 1000-seed weight—had heritabilities of 0.927, 0.215, 0.172, 0.381, 0.360, 0.972, 0.952, 0.516 and 0.987 respectively, while the mean numbers of controlling genes for these characters were 7.4, 10.4, 9.9, 12.9, 11.5, 21.7, 20.5, 19.8 and 6.4 respectively. According to estimated coefficients of skewness and kurtosis of the traits tested, no significant gene interaction was found for plant height, stem width, number of branches, length of main raceme, number of seeds per pod and 1000-seed weight. Seed yield per plant is an important target for oilseed production. In partial correlation analysis, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod and 1000-seed weight were positively correlated with seed yield per plant. On the other hand, length of pod was negatively correlated (r = -0.69) with seed yield per plant. Other agronomic characters had no significant correlation to seed yield per plant. In this experiment, the linear regressions of seed yield per plant and other agronomic traits were also analysed. The linear regression equation wasy = 0.074x8 + 1.819x9 + 6.72x12 -60.78 (R 2 = 0.993), wherex 8, x9 and x12 represent number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod and 1000-seed weight respectively. The experiment also showed that erucic acid and oil contents of seeds from F2 plants were lower than those of their maternal parents. However, glucosinolate content was higher than that of the maternal plants. As for protein content, similar results were found in the F2 plants and their maternal parents. It was shown that the four quality traits, i.e. erucic acid, glucosinolate, oil content, and protein content, had heritability values of 0.614, 0.405, 0.153 and 0.680 respectively.  相似文献
