污泥厌氧消化是在消化污泥微生物组的协调下将剩余污泥中有机物转化为甲烷的微生物过程。与传统厌氧消化过程不同,污泥厌氧消化系统的进料底物为含有大量微生物细胞及胞外多聚物等复杂大分子有机物的剩余污泥。因此,厌氧消化污泥微生物组的种群组成、功能及种群间互作关系等异常复杂,使厌氧消化污泥微生物组分析成为难点问题。但近年来高通量测序技术及生物信息学分析方法的快速发展为消化污泥微生物组研究提供了契机,并迅速推动了该研究领域的发展。本文从4个方面梳理、总结厌氧消化污泥微生物组的研究及应用现状:剩余活性污泥结构、组成及其厌氧消化;基于16SrRNA基因序列测序的微生物组研究;基于宏基因组及宏转录组分析的微生物组研究;厌氧消化污泥微生物组研究案例分析。最后我们提出了厌氧消化污泥微生物组研究亟待解决的关键科学问题。  相似文献

Increased attention has been given to minimization of sludge production from activated sludge process since environmental regulations are being more and more stringent in relation to excess sludge disposal. In a biological process, the more organic carbon utilized in carbon dioxide production, the fewer sludge produced, and vice versa. This paper, therefore, reviews strategies developed for minimization of excess sludge production, such as oxic-settling-anaerobic process, high dissolved oxygen process, uncoupler-containing activated sludge process, ozonation-combined activated sludge process, control of sludge retention time and biodegradation of sludge in membrane-assisted reactor. In these modified activated sludge processes, excess sludge production can be reduced by 20-100% without significant effect on process efficiency and stability. It is expected that this paper would be helpful for researchers and engineers to develop novel and efficient operation strategy to minimize sludge production from biological systems.  相似文献

活性污泥法已经被广泛应用于污水处理中.剩余污泥是此过程的副产物,其处理费用约占污水处理系统总成本的25%~60%,处理不当则会带来严重的二次污染,成为目前污泥处理研究的难点之一.利用嗜热微生物降解污泥操作方便、经济性较好且易于管理,具有良好的应用前景.本文对污泥降解中的嗜热微生物、嗜热微生物污泥降解机理以及污泥降解过程中起重要作用的嗜热蛋白酶和脂肪酶的最新研究进展进行综述,归纳总结了影响嗜热微生物降解污泥的主要影响因素,并对嗜热微生物在污泥消化方面的应用研究进行展望.  相似文献

This article shows the development of a quantitative sludge reduction test method, which uses the sludge consuming aquatic worm Lumbriculus variegatus (Oligochaeta, Lumbriculidae). Essential for the test are sufficient oxygen supply and the presence of a non-stirred layer of sludge for burrowing of the organisms. The test eliminates the unwanted effects of the organisms' movements, so-called bioturbation, on oxygen transport and (therefore) on sludge reduction. We used fresh untreated activated sludge grown on sewage, in order to stay close to the daily practice of sludge treatment. By separating sludge and worms, sludge reduction and worm growth are quantified independently and accurately. Predation by L. variegatus approximately doubles the decay rate of activated sludge. A minimum ratio of initial worm to sludge biomass (W(0)/S(0)) of about 0.4g worm/g sludge dry mass is required. Under the test conditions 20-40% of the predated sludge is converted into worm biomass. Our test is simple, reproducible and accurate and is done with equipment generally available in any laboratory, yielding results within a few days. The test can also be used to assess the application of mixtures of different aquatic organisms, but does not provide enough information for the design of a sludge treatment reactor.  相似文献

Anaerobically digested sewage sludge with a variety of moisture content, namely 81%, 86%, 90% and 98%, were anaerobically cultured at 35 degrees C under light. Phototrophic bacteria grew in the 86% moisture sludge (bacteriochlorophyll a, 0.46 g/L), 90% sludge (bacteriochlorophyll a, 0.36 g/L) and 98% sludge (bacteriochlorophyll a, 0.04 g/L) with methane production. Phototrophic bacteria could not grow in the 81% moisture sludge (bacteriochlorophyll a 0.004 g/L). Phototrophic bacteria could assimilate about 46% of the extracellular ammonium in the 90% moisture sludge. Phototrophic bacteria utilized organic compounds competing with methanogens; therefore, methane yield from the 90% moisture sludge under the light conditions was lower than that under the dark conditions. Phototrophic bacteria could grow in anaerobically digested sludge with relatively low moisture content, and assimilated extracellular ammonium in the sludge. The quality of digested sludge with phototrophic bacterial biomass for fertilizer could be improved compared with that without phototrophic bacterial biomass.  相似文献

Enteroviruses associate with aerobically and anaerobically digested sludge were determined before the addition of the sludge to a sludge lagoon. The fate of sludge-associated viruses was followed during detention of sludge in the lagoon and after application of sludge to land for disposal. While digested sludge was being added to the lagoon, enteroviruses were readily detected in grab samples of sludge from the lagoon. Sludge-associated viruses dropped to low or undetectable levels after disposal of sludge on land and during periods when addition of digested sludge to the lagoon was suspended. Changes in the levels of fecal coliforms in the lagooned sludge paralleled changes in the numbers of enteroviruses. Enteroviruses were not detected in water from deep wells located on the sludge disposal site or near the lagoon. During the initial part of the study, poliovirus serotypes accounted for greater than 90% of the viruses identified. Later, poliovirus serotypes comprised less than 40% of the virus isolates, and echoviruses and Coxsackieviruses were the most common enteroviruses identified.  相似文献

The increasing production of sewage sludge is a problem for wastewater treatment plants today. Research has sought to improve sludge processing efficiency and minimization. This study examined the changes in the rheological features of secondary sludge as a function of ultrasonic specific energy. It has been analyzed the dependency of steady state viscosity on shear rate and the hysteresis area. Steady state viscosity and the hysteresis area decreased significantly with increased ultrasonic specific energy. This may be due to the disruption of sludge flocks leading to a less rigid internal structure. The centrifugation of ultrasonicated sludge increased the total solid content by approximately 21%, leading to dewatered sludge. This sludge showed less elasticity, viscosity and thixotropy than untreated sludge.  相似文献

Raw sludge was found to be very protective of poliovirus plaque-forming ability at all temperatures studied, but digested sludge had variable effects that were highly dependent upon the experimental conditions. In low concentrations and at relatively low inactivation temperatures, digested sludge is nearly as protective of poliovirus as raw sludge. However, at higher tempeatures and concentrations, digested sludge caused a significant acceleration of poliovirus inactivation. The difference between the protective capability of raw and digested sludge is not due to loss of protective material, because this component is present in the solids of digested sludge as well as in those of raw sludge. Instead, the difference is due to a virucidal agent acquired during digestion. Addition of this agent to the solids of either raw or digested sludge reverses the protective potential of these solids during heat treatment of poliovirus.  相似文献

Nutrient removal and sludge age in a sequencing batch reactor   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The aim of this work was to establish a relation between the mean cellular retention time and the ability of activated sludge to remove phosphate and ammonium. A sequencing batch reactor (SBR) with a total volume of 1.94 m3 was fed with municipal wastewater and was operated under four different organic loading rates to obtain sludge ages of 23, 16, 6, and 3 days. The operational strategy included fill, anaerobic, aerobic, settling and draw phases. The experimental work lasted 445 days. Biological phosphate removal was achieved with sludge ages from 6 to 23 days. The highest PO4-P removal rate observed was of 98% and corresponds to a 16-day sludge age; phosphate removal increased with the sludge age. A sludge age of 3 days resulted in a chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal rate of 81% and a sludge age of 23 days in a removal rate of 99%. Full nitrification was observed with a sludge age of 16 days. Nitrification increased with the sludge age. The 3-day sludge age did not allow nitrification. The phosphate concentrations in the biomass were inversely proportional to the sludge age.  相似文献

Enzymatic activity in the activated-sludge floc matrix   总被引:45,自引:0,他引:45  
The enzymatic activity of activated sludge was investigated with special emphasis on the localization of the enzymes in the sludge floc matrix. Activated sludge from an advanced activated-sludge treatment plant, performing biological N and P removal, was used. An enzymatic fingerprint was established using a panel of six different enzymes. The fingerprint revealed peptidase as the most dominating specific enzyme tested. By monitoring sludge bulk enzymatic activity over a 3-month period using fluorescein diacetate as an enzyme substrate, considerable variations in activity were observed even over short periods (a few days). The variation in esterase activity was to some extent correlated to the presence of humic compounds in the sludge, but not to the sludge protein content. Comparison of full sludge enzyme activity to the activity of a batch-grown sludge culture indicated that enzymes accumulated in sludge flocs. A large proportion of the exoenzymes were immobilized in the sludge by adsorption in the extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) matrix. This was demonstrated by extraction of EPS from the activated sludge using cation exchange. Contemporary to the release of EPS a very large fraction of the exoenzymes was released into the water. This showed that the exoenzymes should be considered to be an integrated part of the EPS matrix rather than as direct indicators of the microbial activity or biomass.  相似文献

A membrane bioreactor (MBR) and an activated sludge process (ASP) were operated side by side to evaluate the change of sludge supernatant characteristics and the evolution of the sludge fouling propensity. The MBR sludge had a higher organic concentration and more biopolymer clusters (BPC) in the supernatant compared with ASP. BPC increased in both concentration and size in the MBR. The results show that the change in the liquid-phase property had a profound effect on the sludge fouling propensity. MBR operation transformed typical activated sludge to MBR sludge with a higher fouling propensity. Distinct from the ASP, membrane filtration retained soluble microbial products (SMP) within the MBR, and the vast membrane surface provided a unique environment for the transformation of SMP to large size BPC, leading to further sludge deposition on the membrane surface. Thus, membrane filtration is the crucial cause of the inevitable fouling problem in submerged MBRs.  相似文献

This article presents the results of research on preserving sludge from meat industry waste waters. The sludge precipitated by chemical purification of effluents contains considerable amounts of proteins and fats which under certain conditions can be used for feeding to animals. The preservation of sludge was based on lactic fermentation conducted with the use of Lactobacillus delbrückii. Molasses, as the source of sugars which are necessary in the process of silage, were added to the sludge. Basic conditions for preserving sludge through this method, such as addition of molasses, sludge moisture and fat content, were established. The results of the research imply that silage of sludge from the meat industry effluents can be a good way of preserving sludge and converting it into a fodder.  相似文献

High-rate anaerobic digestion can be applied in upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactors for the treatment of various wastewaters. In upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactors, sludge retention time is increased by a natural immobilization mechanism (viz. the formation of a granular type of sludge). When this sludge is cultivated on acid-containing wastewater, the granules mainly consist of an acetoclastic methanogen resembling Methanothrix soehngenii. This organism grows either in rods or in long filaments. Attempts to cultivate a stable sludge consisting predominantly of Methanosarcina sp. on an acetate-propionate mixture as substrate by lowering the pH from 7.5 during the start-up to approximately 6 failed. After 140 days of continuous operation of the reactor a filamentous organism resembling Methanothrix soehngenii prevailed in the sludge. The specific methanogenic activity of this sludge on acetate-propionate was optimal at pH 6.6 to 6.8 and 7.0 to 7.2, respectively.  相似文献

The effect of pre-loading and in situ loading of cobalt onto a cobalt-limited granular sludge on the performance of methanol fed bioreactors was investigated. One upflow anaerobic sludge bed (UASB) reactor was inoculated with cobalt pre-loaded sludge (24h; 30 degrees C; 1 mM CoCl2) and a second UASB with unloaded sludge. The UASB reactors (30 degrees C; pH 7) were operated for 77 days at 8 h hydraulic retention time and organic loading rates ranging from 5 to 20 g COD.L reactor(-1).d(-1). Cobalt pre-loading clearly stimulated the methanogenic activity of the sludge with methanol as the substrate, e.g., after 30 days of reactor operation this activity was 5.8 times higher than that of the cobalt unloaded sludge. During the experiment, part of the cobalt leached from the pre-loaded sludge, i.e., 54% of the cobalt content was lost during the 77 days of reactor operation. Sequential metal extraction showed that losses mainly occurred from the exchangeable and carbonate fraction and in the sludge remaining cobalt was mainly present in the organic/sulfide fraction of the sludge. In situ loading of cobalt in the unloaded UASB reactor on day 57 by adding 31 microM cobalt to the influent for a 24-h period (16% of the cobalt present in the loaded sludge at day 11) resulted in a 4 time increase of the methanogenic activity of the sludge with methanol as the substrate at the end of the reactor experiment, while the accumulated amount of cobalt in the sludge only amounted to 6% of the cobalt accumulated in the loaded sludge (on day 11). This study showed that both pre-loading sludge and in situ loading are adequate for achieving an increased reactor performance of methanol fed UASB reactors operating under cobalt limitation. However, the in situ dosing procedure needs substantially lower amounts of cobalt, while it also gives significantly smaller losses of cobalt with the effluent.  相似文献

The effects of sewage sludge, used to improve fertility of replaced soil, on vegetation were studied in limestone quarry restoration. Plant community growing in the first stages after sludge application was surveyed in six quarries of NE Spain. Areas with a mixture of sewage sludge and residual soil were compared to areas where the application consisted only of residual soil (a mixture of previous top soil and mine spoils). Sewage sludge was hypothesized to increase total biomass and cover, modifying species composition and delaying the early successional recover of the community. The results showed that both biomass and plant cover increased because of sewage sludge addition. The floristic composition was dominated by ruderal species that did not show any dependence on sewage sludge application. Convergence on similarity between sludge and control plots was not detected along a 5‐year period. Although species richness was significantly lower in sludge plots, diversity and equitability indexes did not show differences between treatments. The results did not show differences in the proportion of non‐native species. The proportion of legumes was lower in sludge plots. These results show that the plant communities resulting from the addition of sewage sludge to the soil used in limestone quarry restoration have more biomass and cover, but less number of species, and they do not show a clear trend to converge to those areas restored only with non‐amended soil.  相似文献

研究了污泥生物沥滤对重金属(Cu、Pb和Zn)形态、营养物质和SO42-存在形式的影响,分析生物沥滤污泥土地利用的适用性。结果表明:生物沥滤后,污泥上清液中重金属通过固液分离而去除,污泥中Cu、Pb和Zn的去除率分别为84.1%、34.8%和80.0%,残存于污泥中的重金属含量大幅降低,且生物有效性低,提高了污泥土地利用的安全性。污泥经生物沥滤后氮、磷和钾的流失分别为38.2%、52.1%和42.8%,但仍能保持较好的肥效。采用X-射线衍射光谱分析发现,残留于污泥中的SO24-主要与Ca2 相结合,较为稳定,生物沥滤后的污泥施用于土地后对环境影响较小。  相似文献

The alkaline phosphatase activities (APA) and phosphorus fractions in activated sludge during wastewater treatment were studied. Our results showed that the phosphorus concentration and fractions in activated sludge were highly correlated with the characteristics of influents. Inorganic phosphorus (IP) and non-apatite inorganic phosphorus (NAIP) were the main phosphorus fractions of sludge. A larger phosphorus concentration was found in activated sludge due to the more readily mobilizable and bio-available forms. The APA in sludge was directly correlated with mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS) in activated sludge. The APA in the sludge is implicated the depletion of organic phosphorus forms in sludge, whilst also implying its less inhibition of inorganic phosphorus in sludge. The APA and phosphorus fractions in different sludge samples from the same wastewater treatment plant were quite stable. This stability shows their tight interactions in sludge.  相似文献

林地利用被认为是污泥资源化利用的重要方式,但施用污泥对林木根系生长的影响报道较少。本研究通过根箱试验,分析表施和混施10%污泥对速生树种团花不同土层根系形态、土壤pH值和电导率动态变化及根系重金属含量的影响,并拟合土壤pH值、电导率和根系重金属含量与根长的关系。结果表明: 与不施污泥(对照)相比,混施污泥显著抑制了团花根长、根表面积和根体积增长,混施污泥120和240 d后,0~20 cm土层总根长分别为不施污泥的76.9%和67.4%;表施污泥对团花根长和根表面积的影响不显著,但显著提高了根体积。混施污泥显著提高了土壤pH值和电导率及根系重金属含量,混施污泥0~20和20~40 cm土层根系镉含量分别是不施污泥的11.5和10.0倍。线性回归拟合分析显示,不同处理0~20 cm土层的电导率与根长均呈显著负相关;表施和混施污泥根系镉含量与根长呈极显著负相关。上述结果表明,混施污泥抑制了团花根系生长,这可能是由于混施污泥提高了土壤电导率和根系镉含量所致,而表施污泥对团花根系生长的作用不明显。  相似文献
