Static experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of environmental factors on nitrate (NO3?-N)-removal efficiency, such as NO3?-N loading, pH value, C/N ratio and temperature in activated sludge using Fe (II) as electron donor. The results demonstrated that the average denitrification rate increased from 1.25 to 2.23 mg NO3?-N/(L·h) with NO3?-N loading increased from 30 to 60 mg/L. When pH increased from 7 to 8, the concentration of NO3?-N and nitrite (NO2?-N) in effluent were all maintained at quite low levels. C/N ratio had little impact on denitrification process, i.e., inorganic carbon (C) source could still be enough for denitrification process with C/N ratio as low as 5. Temperature had a significant effect on the denitrification efficiency, and NO3?-N removal efficiency of 92.03%, 96.77%, 97.67% and 98.23% could be obtained with temperature of 25°C, 30°C, 35°C and 40°C, respectively. SEM, XRD and XRF analysis was used to investigate microscopic surface morphology and chemical composition of the denitrifying activated sludge, and mechanism of the nitrate-dependent anaerobic ferrous oxidation (NAFO) bacterias could be explored with this research.  相似文献

Effect of influent substrate ratio on anammox process was studied in sequencing batch reactor. Operating temperature was fixed at 35 ± 1 °C. Influent pH and hydraulic retention time were 7.5 and 6 h, respectively. When influent NO2 ?-N/NH4 +-N was no more than 2.0, total nitrogen removal rate (TNRR) increased whereas NH4 +-N removal rate stabilized at 0.32 kg/(m3 d). ΔNO2 ?-N/ΔNH4 +-N increased with enhancing NO2 ?-N/NH4 +-N. When NO2 ?-N/NH4 +-N was 4.5, ΔNO2 ?-N/ΔNH4 +-N was 1.98, which was much higher than theoretical value (1.32). The IC50 of NO2 ?-N was 289 mg/L and anammox activity was inhibited at high NO2 ?-N/NH4 +-N ratio. With regard to influent NH4 +-N/NO2 ?-N, the maximum NH4 +-N removal rate was 0.36 kg/(m3 d), which occurred at the ratio of 4.0. Anammox activity was inhibited when influent NH4 +-N/NO2 ?-N was higher than 5.0. With influent NO3 ?-N/NH4 +-N of 2.5–6.5, NH4 +-N removal rate and NRR were stabilized at 0.33 and 0.40 kg/(m3 d), respectively. When the ratio was higher than 6.5, nitrogen removal would be worsened. The inhibitory threshold concentration of NO2 ?-N was lower than NH4 +-N and NO3 ?-N. Anammox bacteria were more sensitive to NO2 ?-N than NH4 +-N and NO3 ?-N. TNRR would be enhanced with increasing nitrogen loading rate, but sludge floatation occurred at high nitrogen loading shock. The Han-Levenspiel could be applied to simulate nitrogen removal resulting from NO2 ?-N inhibition.  相似文献

A continuous-upflow biofilter packed with sponge iron was constructed for nitrate removal under an anaerobic atmosphere. Microbacterium sp. W5, a nitrate reducing and Fe(II) oxidizing strain, was added to the biofilter as an inoculum. The best results were achieved when NO3 ?-N concentration was 30 mg/L and Fe2+ was 800 mg/L. Nitrite in influent would inhibit nitrate removal and aqueous Fe2+ resulted in encrustation. Fe(II)EDTA would prevent cells from encrustation and the maximum nitrogen removal efficiency was about 90 % with Fe(II)EDTA level of 1100 mg/L. Nitrate reduction followed first-order reaction kinetics. Characteristics of biofilms were analyzed by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy.  相似文献

The upflow aerated biofilter with polyurethane foam cubes as the supporting medium was used for the investigation of nitrification studies on municipal sewage (secondary treated as well as untreated domestic sewage). In case of secondary treated sewage effluent, a synthetic composition of NH4 +-N and COD of each 50?mg/l was studied for a HRT variation of 24, 12, 8 and 6 hours. The ammonium removal efficiencies were found to be in the range of 98 to 100% with the steady-state effluent concentrations of NH4 +-N and NO2 ?-N in the range of 1–4 mg/l and 0.1–0.2?mg/l respectively. In case of domestic sewage system, nitrification studies along with suspended solids removal study was carried-out on untreated sewage for a HRT variation of 24, 12 and 6 hours. The ammonium removal efficiencies of 100% were observed for all the three HRT values at very high COD/NH4 +-N ratio of 15. The suspended solids removal efficiencies of 95 to 98% were observed with the average effluent suspended solids concentration of 5.9 to 15.9?mg/l. The experiments were conducted in non-backwash conditions of the biofilter. The study has revealed the best use of the upflow biofilter system for nitrification applications and suspended solids removal.  相似文献

The Wei River is the largest tributary of the Yellow River in China. To understand the sources and cycling of nitrate in the Wei River, we determined the concentrations and nitrogen and oxygen isotopic values of nitrate from water samples. Our results revealed that NO3?-N dominated the inorganic N and ranged from 0.1 to 8.8 mg/L (averaging 3.3 mg/L). Although this NO3?-N concentration does not exceed the World Health Organization's drinking water standard of 10 mg/L, the NO3?-N content of most water samples exceeded 3 mg/L, indicating poor water quality. The NO3?-N concentrations and δ15N-NO3? values demonstrate that there are significant differences in the spatial distribution of nitrogen between the tributaries and the main stream of the Wei River. In addition, a negative linear relationship (r2 = 0.63) between NO3?-N concentrations and δ18O-NO3? values suggests mixing between two distinct sources (fertilizer and manure or sewage). Furthermore, we infer that the main source of nitrate is not manure or sewage itself, but rather the nitrification of NH4+ in manure and sewage. Finally, no obvious denitrification processes were observed. These results expand our understanding of sewage as a major source of nitrate to the Wei River, emphasizing the role of nitrification.  相似文献

The green-tide macroalga, Ulva prolifera, was tested in the laboratory to determine its nutrient uptake and photosynthesis under different conditions. In the nutrient concentration experiments U. prolifera showed a saturated uptake for nitrate but an escalating uptake in the tested range for phosphorus. Both N/P and NO3 ?/NH4 + ratios influenced nutrient uptake significantly (p?<?0.05) while the PSII quantum yield [Y(II)] (p?>?0.05) remained unaffected. The maximum N uptake rate (33.9?±?0.8 μmol g?1 DW h?1) and P uptake rate (11.1?±?4.7) was detected at N/P ratios of 7.5 and 2.2, respectively. U. prolifera preferred NH4 +-N to NO3 ?-N when the NO3 ?-N/NH4 +-N ratio was less than 2.2 (p?<?0.05). But between ratios of 2.2 and 12.9, the uptake of NO3 ?-N surpassed that of NH4 +-N. In the temperature experiments, the highest N uptake rate and [Y(II)] were observed at 20 °C, while the lowest rates were detected at 5 °C. P uptake rates were correlated with increasing temperature.  相似文献

Microorganism with simultaneous nitrification and denitrification ability plays a significant role in nitrogen removal process, especially in the eutrophic waters with excessive nitrogen loads. The nitrogen removal capacity of microorganism may suffer from low temperature or nitrite nitrogen source. In this study, a hypothermia aerobic nitrite-denitrifying bacterium, Pseudomonas tolaasii strain Y-11, was selected to determine the simultaneous nitrification and denitrification ability with mixed nitrogen source at 15 °C. The sole nitrogen removal efficiencies of strain Y-11 in simulated wastewater were obtained. After 24 h of incubation at 15 °C, the ammonium nitrogen fell below the detection limit from an initial value of 10.99 mg/L. Approximately 88.0 ± 0.33% of nitrate nitrogen was removed with the initial concentration of 11.78 mg/L and the nitrite nitrogen was not detected with the initial concentration of 10.75 mg/L after 48 h of incubation at 15 °C. Additionally, the simultaneous nitrification and denitrification nitrogen removal ability of P. tolaasii strain Y-11 was evaluated using low concentration of mixed NH4+-N and NO3?–N/NO2?–N (about 5 mg/L-N each) and high concentration of mixed NH4+–N and NO3?–N/NO2?–N (about 100 mg/L-N each). There was no nitrite nitrogen accumulation at the time of evaluation. The results demonstrated that P. tolaasii strain Y-11 had higher simultaneous nitrification and denitrification capacity with low concentration of mixed inorganic nitrogen sources and may be applied in low temperature wastewater treatment.  相似文献

A novel bacterium, strain SZ28, identified as Acinetobacter sp., showed anaerobic denitrification ability using Mn(II) as the electron donor. Nitrate-nitrogen concentration decreased from nearly 16.52–mg L?1 to 4.4–mg L?1, without accumulation of nitrite as an intermediate, with a maximum of 0.063–mg NO3?-N L?1 h?1, reaching a peak of 0.085–mg NO3?-N L?1 h?1 in sodium acetate. The nitrate removal rate reached 0.067–mg NO3?-N L?1 h?1, 0.059–mg NO3?-N L?1 h?1, and 0.078 mg NO3?-N L?1 h?1 using Mn(II), S(II), and Fe(II) as electron donors, respectively. The optimum pH was 6.0, with a removal rate of 0.063–mg NO3?-N L?1 h?1  相似文献

Constructed wetlands (CWs) have received increasing attentions for their N removal performances, especially regarding NH4+-N. Different influent NH4+-N concentration may influence N removal efficiency in practice, while the effects of different NH4+-N concentrations on microorganisms removing N in CWs are poorly understood. In this study, surface flow CWs planted with Myriophyllum (M). aquaticum were established to investigate the influences of different NH4+-N concentrations on the composition, structure, and interactions of microbial community. Our findings suggested 105 mg/L NH4+-N CWs achieved highest N removal rate, removing 89.30 % NH4+-N and 92.34 % TN from the influent. The results of real-time quantitative polymerase chain reactions (qPCR) indicated abundances of nitrifying genes (nxrA) and denitrifying genes (narG, nirS, nirK, and nosZ) were increased by increasing NH4+-N concentrations, and the strongest effects were observed in narG (8-fold) and nosZ genes (11-fold). Different NH4+-N concentrations was proved to alter composition and structure of microbial communities via high-throughput sequencing, e.g. denitrifiers including Brevendomonas.sp, Dokdonella.sp and Rhodococcus.sp were enriched obviously with increasing NH4+-N concentrations. In addition, network showed interactions among microbial populations and positive interactions were dramatically shifted and enhanced by increasing NH4+-N concentrations.  相似文献

The effects of wastewater loading rates and two macrophyte species on treatment of sugar factory stabilization pond effluent were investigated in a pilot-scale free water surface constructed wetland (FWS CW) system in western Kenya. For 12 months, four CWs were operated at a hydraulic loading rate of 75 mm day−1 and four at 225 mm day−1. Half the CWs were planted with Cyperus papyrus and half with Echinochloa pyramidalis. Water samples were taken at the inlets and outlets and analyzed for TP, TDP, NH4-N, and TSS. Mass removal rates of the selected water quality parameters were compared during three periods designated the short rain (period 1), dry (period 2), and long rain (period 3) seasons. There was a significant linear relationship between the mass removal rate of TP, NH4-N, and TSS and the mass load, and season had a significant effect on the mass removal rate of TSS, NH4-N, and TDP. Mass loading rates for TDP were about 78% of those for TP, whereas TDP comprised 78–99% of TP mass outflow rates, indicating a release of dissolved P within the CWs. The only significant difference between the two macrophyte species was associated with mass removal of NH4-N, with more efficient removal in CWs planted with C. papyrus than those with E. pyramidalis. TP mass removal rates were 50–80% higher when a mean water loss for CWs 6–8 during periods 1 and 2 was assumed to represent evapotranspiration for all CWs in period 3 instead of pan evaporation data. This illustrated the importance of accurate estimations of evapotranspiration for pollutant mass removal rates in CWs in tropical climates.  相似文献

The growth of Salvinia molesta D.S. Mitchell was studied in a greenhouse using controlled-temperature water-baths at 16, 19 and 22°C and 4 different nitrogen compounds (NO3?, NH4+, NH4NO3 and urea) at levels up to 60 mg N l?1. Little growth occurred at 16°C even if 20 mg N l?1 was supplied together with other nutrients including phosphorus (2 mg H2PO4-P l?1). The highest relative growth rate and total dry matter production occurred at 22°C when plants were supplied with 20 mg NH4-N l?1. At this temperature, the NH4+ ion was superior to the NO3? ion or urea as a nitrogen source (almost doubling the biomass), but was not significantly better than NH4NO3. Over a period of 19 days for plants receiving 0.02 mg NH4-N l?, biomass increased 4-fold at 16°C, 9-fold at 19°C and 10-fold at 22°C. In contrast, for plants receiving 20 mg NH4-N l?1, biomass increased 4-fold at 16°C, 18-fold at 19°C and 38-fold at 22°C.  相似文献

The present investigation was aimed towards analyzing the potential of consortia of native filamentous microalgal strains (MC2), native unicellular microalgal strains (MC3), and selected microalgae from germplasm (MC1) in terms of nutrient removal, water quality improvement, and biomass production using primary treated sewage water. Highest NO3-N (90 %) and PO4-P (97.8 %) removal was obtained with MC2-inoculated sewage water. Highest decrease in total dissolved solids to 806 from 1,120 mg L?1 and highest increase in dissolved oxygen of 9.0 from 0.4 mg L?1 were obtained using MC2-inoculated sewage water on the sixth day. The biomass production was also highest in MC2 (1.07 g L?1) followed by MC1 and MC3 (0.90 and 0.94 g L?1, respectively) on the sixth day. The consortium of filamentous strains from native environment not only proved promising in nutrient removal efficiency but also led to enhanced biomass. The present study highlighted the utility of such a consortium for sewage wastewater treatment and the promise of sewage water as a growth medium for biomass production.  相似文献

Aerobic granular sludge was successfully cultivated with the effluent of internal circulation (IC) reactor in a pilot-scale sequencing batch reactor (SBR) using activated sludge as seeding sludge. N removal was investigated in the start-up of aerobic granulation process. Initially, the phenomenon of partial nitrification was observed and nitrite accumulation rates (NO2 ?-N/NO x ? -N) were between 84.6 and 99.1?%. It was potentially caused by ammonium oxidizing bacteria (AOB) in the seeding activated sludge, high external environmental temperature (~32?°C) and free ammonia (FA) concentration. After 50?days’ running, the aerobic granules-based bioreactor demonstrated perfect performance in simultaneous removal of organic matter and ammonia nitrogen, and average removal efficiencies were maintained above 93 and 96?%, respectively. The maximum nitrogen removal efficiency of 83.1?% was achieved after the formation of aerobic granules. The average diameter of mature aerobic granular sludge mostly ranged from 0.5 to 1.0?mm. Furthermore, one typical cyclic test indicated that pH and DO profiles could be used as effective parameters for biological reactions occurring in the aerobic/anoxic process. The obtained results could provide further information on the cultivation of aerobic granular sludge with practical wastewater, especially with regard to nitrogen-rich industrial wastewater.  相似文献

We investigated the effects of removing near-stream Rhododendron and of the natural blowdown of canopy trees on nutrient export to streams in the southern Appalachians. Transects were instrumented on adjacent hillslopes in a first-order watershed at the Coweeta Hydrologic Laboratory (35°03′N, 83°25′W). Dissolved organic carbon (DOC), K+, Na+, Ca2+, Mg2+, NO3 -N, NH4 +-N, PO4 3−-P, and SO4 2− were measured for 2 years prior to disturbance. In August 1995, riparian Rhododendron on one hillslope was cut, removing 30% of total woody biomass. In October 1995, Hurricane Opal uprooted nine canopy trees on the other hillslope, downing 81% of the total woody biomass. Over the 3 years following the disturbance, soilwater concentrations of NO3 -N tripled on the cut hillslope. There were also small changes in soilwater DOC, SO4 2−, Ca2+, and Mg2+. However, no significant changes occurred in groundwater nutrient concentrations following Rhododendron removal. In contrast, soilwater NO3 -N on the storm-affected hillslope showed persistent 500-fold increases, groundwater NO3 -N increased four fold, and streamwater NO3 -N doubled. Significant changes also occurred in soilwater pH, DOC, SO4 2−, Ca2+, and Mg2+. There were no significant changes in microbial immobilization of soil nutrients or water outflow on the storm-affected hillslope. Our results suggest that Rhododendron thickets play a relatively minor role in controlling nutrient export to headwater streams. They further suggest that nutrient uptake by canopy trees is a key control on NO3 -N export in upland riparian zones, and that disruption of the root–soil connection in canopy trees via uprooting promotes significant nutrient loss to streams. The present work was aimed at analysing the role of inoculated microalgae in nutrient dynamics, bioremediation and biomass production of sewage water. Preliminary microscopic analyses of sewage water revealed the presence of different algal groups, with predominance of Cyanophyta. Among the inoculated strains, Calothrix showed highest dry cell weight (916.67 mg L?1), chlorophyll and carotenoid content in tap water + sewage water (1:1) treatment. Significant removal of NO3-N ranging from 57–78% and PO4-P (44–91%) was recorded in microalgae inoculated tap water + sewage water. The total dissolved solids and electrical conductivity of tap water + sewage water after incubation with Calothrix sp. decreased by 28.5 and 28.0%, accompanied by an increase in dissolved oxygen from 4.4 to 6.4 mg L?1 on the 20th day. Our investigation revealed the robustness of Calothrix sp. in sequestering nutrients (N and P), improving water quality and proliferating in sewage water.  相似文献

Background and aims

Climate warming, nitrogen (N) deposition and land use change are some of the drivers affecting ecosystem processes such as soil carbon (C) and N dynamics, yet the interactive effects of those drivers on ecosystem processes are poorly understood. This study aimed to understand mechanisms of interactive effects of temperature, form of N deposition and land use type on soil C and N mineralization.

Methods

We studied, in a laboratory incubation experiment, the effects of temperature (15 vs. 25 °C) and species of N deposition (NH4 +-N vs. NO3 ?-N) on soil CO2 efflux, dissolved organic C (DOC) and N (DON), NH4 +-N, and NO3 ?-N concentrations using intact soil columns collected from adjacent forest and grassland ecosystems in north-central Alberta.

Results

Temperature and land use type interacted to affect soil CO2 efflux, concentrations of DON, NH4 +-N and NO3 ?-N in most measurement times, with the higher incubation temperature resulted in the higher CO2 efflux and NH4 +-N concentrations in forest soils and higher DON and NO3 ?-N concentrations in grassland soils. Temperature and land use type affected the cumulative soil CO2 efflux, and DOC, DON, NH4 +-N and NO3 ?-N concentrations. The form of N added or its interaction with the other two factors did not affect any of the C and N cycling parameters.

Conclusions

Temperature and land use type were dominant factors affecting soil C loss, with the soil C in grassland soils more stable and resistant to temperature changes. The lack of short-term effects of the deposition of different N species on soil C and N mineralization suggest that maybe there was a threshold for the N effect to kick in and long-term experiments should be conducted to further elucidate the species of N deposition effects on soil C and N cycling in the studied systems.  相似文献

Seasonal and diurnal variations of in-stream NO3-N concentration oscillations were studied through high-frequency measurements of streamwater’s physical, chemical parameters (in-stream NO3-N concentration, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH) and hydrometeorological variables (stream discharge, solar radiation) under hydrologically stable conditions. The study was carried out in 2006, within the 42 km2 forested Pade? stream watershed in the southwestern part of Slovenia, which is characterized by distinctive hydrogeological settings (flysch) and climate conditions (transitional area between the Mediterranean and continental climate). Fine temporal data resolution (15-min interval) enabled identification of the factors responsible for seasonal variability in the diurnal pattern of the streamwater NO3-N concentrations versus seasonal and diurnal behavior of meteorological and other water chemistry constituents. The observed seasonal variability of in-stream NO3-N daily oscillations indicates the important role of primary production uptake, particularly during seasons when deciduous vegetation is dormant and light levels in the stream are high. Highest daily NO3-N concentration amplitudes (0.3 mg/l-N) and daily changes in the NO3-N flux (0.4–0.5 g/s-N) were observed in spring; the NO3-N concentration oscillations in summer showed a considerably smaller effect of the in-stream uptake (maximum NO3-N daily concentration amplitude 0.1 mg/l-N; daily change in the NO3-N flux 0.02 g/s-N). Seasonal shifts in the timing of daily maximum (up to 6 h) and minimum NO3-N concentrations (between 1 and 3 h) provided some additional indications of seasonal changes in the in-stream primary production uptake and its relation to the terrestrial component of the forested watershed.  相似文献

Excess inorganic nitrogen in water poses a severe threat to enviroment. Removal of inorganic nitrogen by heterotrophic nitrifying–aerobic denitrifying microorganism is supposed to be a promising and applicable technology only if the removal rate can be maintained sufficiently high in real wastewater under various conditions, such as high concentration of salt and wide range of different nitrogen concentrations. Here, a new heterotrophic nitrifying–aerobic denitrifying bacterium was isolated and named as Pseudomonas mendocina TJPU04, which removes NH4+-N, NO3-N and NO2-N with average rate of 4.69, 5.60, 4.99 mg/L/h, respectively. It also maintains high nitrogen removal efficiency over a wide range of nitrogen concentrations. When concentration of NH4+-N, NO3-N and NO2-N was up to 150, 150 and 50 mg/L, 98%, 93%, and 100% removal efficiency could be obtained, respectively, after 30-h incubation under sterile condition. When it was applied under non-sterile condition, the ammonia removal efficiency was slightly lower than that under sterile condition. However, the nitrate and nitrite removal efficiencies under non-sterile condition were significantly higher than those under sterile condition. Strain TJPU04 also showed efficient nitrogen removal performance in the presence of high concentration of salt and nitrogen. In addition, the removal efficiencies of NH4+-N, NO3-N and TN in real wastewater were 91%, 52%, and 75%, respectively. These results suggest that strain TJPU04 is a promising candidate for efficient removal of inorganic nitrogen in wastewater treatment.

In the present study, improved moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) was applied to enhance the nutrient removal ability of the municipal wastewater. A total of 18 indigenous bacterial isolates were screened from the sewage sludge sample and nitrate reductase, nitrite reductase and hydroxylamine oxidase was analyzed. The strains Pseudomonas aeruginosa NU1 and Acinetobacter calcoaceticus K12 produced 0.87 ± 0.05 U/mg and 0.52 ± 0.12 U/mg hydroxylamine oxidase, 1.023 ± 0.062 U/mg and 1.29 ± 0.07 U/mg nitrite reductase, and 0.789 ± 0.031 U/mg and 1.07 ± 0.13 U/mg nitrate reductase. Nitrogen and phosphate removal improved by the addition of nutrient sources and achieved > 80% removal rate. pH and temperature of the medium also affected nutrient removal and improved removal was achieved at optimum level (p < 0.05). MBBR was designed with R1 (aerobic), R2 and R3 (anoxic) reactors. MBBR reactors removed acceptable level phosphorus removal properties up to 7.2 ± 3.8%, 42.4 ± 4.6%, and 84.2 ± 13.1% in the R1, R2, R3 and R4 reactors, respectively. Denitrification rate showed linear relationship at increasing concentrations nitrogen content in the reactor and denitrification rate was 1.43 g NO2-N /m2/day at 1.5 g NO2-N /m2/day. Dehydrogenase activity was assayed in all reactors and maximum amount was detected in the aerobic biofilm reactor. Based on the present findings, MBBRs and the selected bacterial strains are useful for the degradation domestic wastewater with minimum working area.  相似文献

This study evaluates the potential of subsurface flow (SSF) constructed wetlands (CWs) for tertiary treatment of wastewater at four shorter HRTs (1–4 days). The CWs were planted with Typha angustata, which was observed in our earlier study to be more efficient than Phragmites karka and Scirpus littoralis. The CWs comprised four rectangular treatment cells (2.14 m × 0.76 m × 0.61 m) filled with layers of gravel of two different sizes (approximately 2.5 cm and 1.5 cm diameter) to a depth of 0.61 m. The inflow rates of the secondary effluent in the four cells were accordingly fixed at 300 L d?1, 150 L d?1, 100 L d?1 and 75 L d?1, respectively, for 1, 2, 3 and 4 days HRT. The hydraulic loads ranged between 59.05 mm d?1 and 236.22 mm d?1.The wastewater inflow into the CW system as well as the treated effluent were analyzed, using standard methods, at regular intervals for various forms of nitrogen (NH4-N, NO3-N and TKN), orthophosphate-P and organic matter (BOD and COD) concentrations over a period of five weeks after the development of a dense stand. The higher HRT of 4 days not only helped maximum removal of all the pollutants but also maintained the stability of the treatment efficiency throughout the monitoring period. For the nutrients (NH4-N, NO3-N and TKN), HRT played a more significant role in their removal than in case of organic matter (BOD3 and COD). More than 90% of NO3-N and TKN and 100% of NH4-N were removed from the wastewater at 4 days HRT.At lower HRTs, the mass loading rate was higher with greater fluctuation. However mass reduction efficiency of the T. angustata CW for all forms of nitrogen was >80% with the HRTs of 2, 3 and 4 days.  相似文献
