Abstract: | A Revision of the cranial morphology of Middle and Late Permian East European Dinomorpha (Theromorpha, Eotherapsida) resulted in a clarification of the taxonomic relationships within this group. As the system was constructed, four parameters, i.e., morphological, biomorph, and geographical and stratigraphic ranges, were taken into account in each subordinate taxon. The taxon Theromorpha is ranked as class, since it was primarily formed as a pilidosic group (covered with hair), in contrast to the class Reptilia, a pholidosic group (covered with scales). |
