From three Fouquieria sp. 12 iridoid glucosides were isolated and identified. Eight of these were structurally related to galioside (monotropein methylester), while four were hydroxy substitution products of deoxyloganin. The effects of a hot water extract and fractional extracts from rabbiteye blueberry (Vaccinium ashei reade) leaves (BBL) on lipid metabolism were studied in obese Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty (OLETF) rats. Feeding the hot water extract and fractional extracts from BBL alleviated hepatic triglyceride accumulation in the rats. Additionally, feeding with the flavonol glycoside (FG) and proanthocyanidin (PA) fractions lowered serum cholesterol levels in the obese rats. The results from measurements of the hepatic enzyme activity indicate that the hypolipidemic effects of the hot water extract and the PA fraction might be attributable to enhanced lipolysis in the liver. The reduced serum levels of C-reactive protein, an inflammatory cytokine, by the chlorogenic acid + rutin fraction and FG fraction might be associated with alleviating the metabolic abnormalities in obese rats. These results indicate that the BBL extracts, and especially FG and PA, exerted hypolipidemic effects on obese OLETF rats and suggest that an infusion of BBL can be useful as a dietary hypolipidemic component.  相似文献

Fourteen species representing nine genera of the Hydrangeaceae Dumortier were surveyed for their flavonoid pigments. All taxa exhibited profiles based upon common flavonols. Myricetin was seen in two genera: Jamesia and Decumaria. Jamesia was further distinguished by the absence of kaempferol or its glycosides. A complex array of 3-O-mono-, 3-O-di- and 3-O-triglycosides was observed, although not all species had all levels of glycosylation. Decumaria barbara was unique within the species studied in its possession of 3,7-di- and 3,7-triglycosides. The overall pattern of flavonol glycosides observed for the Hydrangeaceae closely resembles that found in herbaceous genera of Saxifragaceae. The comparatively low frequency of myricetin contrasts with its high occurrence in herbaceous genera.  相似文献

Investigations of rhubarb and the bark of Rhaphiolepis umbellata led to the isolation of new flavan-3-ol glucosides. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of 1H and 13C NMR analysis hydrolytic studies as (+)-catechin 5-O-β-d-glucopyranoside and (?)-catechin 7-O-β-d-glucopyranoside.  相似文献

Twenty-one flavonoid glycosides were isolated from the leaves of 22 North AmericanVitis L. taxa, representing two subgenera and five series. Three chemical groups were evident: one producing flavonols, flavones, and C-glycosylflavones, a second producing flavonols and flavones, and a third producing only flavonols. These three chemical groups did not correspond to any of the subgeneric groupings based on morphology. However, flavonoid distributions within series in each subgenus correlate well with morphological data. Parallel flavonoid evolution within each series is thought to account for this lack of subgeneric and interserial flavonoid distinction. The flavonoid data indicate that seriesCordifoliae of subgenusVitis, particularlyV. vulpina L., is the most closely related group to subgenusMuscadinia (Planch.)Rehder, and represents an evolutionary link between the two subgenera.  相似文献

New distributional recores of hydroxycinnamoyl spermidines (HCS), including novel trisubstituted HCSs and flavonol glycosides, in pollen of Higher Hamamelidae are presented. The 51 taxa analyzed by HPLC and TLC included members of the families Fagaceae (Castanoideae, Fagoideae, Quercoideae), Betulaceae, Juglandaceae, Myricaceae, Hamamelidaceae, Rosaceae, and Buxaceae (Simmondsia). The results support generic concepts in the Higher Hamamelidae derived from morphological and chloroplast DNA data and support a close evolutionary relationship between the Higher Hamamelidae and the Rosidae.  相似文献

Catabolism of flavonol glucosides was investigated in plant cell suspension cultures using kaempferol 3-O-β-d-glucoside and kaempferol 7-O-β-d-glucoside labelled with 14C either in the glucose or in the flavonol moiety. Catabolic rates of glucosides were compared with those of free glucose and kaempferol. All substrates were degraded efficiently by cell cultures of mungbean, soybean, garbanzo bean and parsley. Based on 14CO2-formation, glucose from position 3 of kaempferol is 3–5 times more rapidly metabolized than that from position 7. The flavonol nucleus from both isomers is, however, oxidized to the same extent with a considerable portion of the flavonol being incorporated into insoluble polymeric cell material.  相似文献

Quercetin 3-O-(6″-O-galloyl)-β-d-glucoside has been identified as a constituent of Tellima grandiflora (Saxifragaceae). In all, twelve gallates were encountered: two isomeric gallates of quercetin 3-O-glucoside and two of quercetin 3-O-galactoside, a similar set involving kaempferol, and a similar set involving myricetin.  相似文献
