An homologous series of acylated flavan-3-ols and procyanidins have been isolated, together with the known procyanidins B-1, B-3 and trimer, from the bark of Salix sieboldiana. Chemical and spectroscopic evidence led to the assignments of their structures as the 3-O-(1,6-dihydroxy-2-cyclohexene-1-carboxylic acid ester) of (+)-catechin and the 1-hydroxy-6-oxo-2-cyclohexene carboxylic acid esters of (+)-catechin and procyanidins B-1, B-3 and trimer.  相似文献

Rat ghrelin, a 28-amino acid residue peptide with an octanoyl group at the side chain of Ser3, was synthesized chemically by applying Fmoc/tBu strategy. An ester linkage between octanoic acid and the hydroxyl function of Ser3 was found to be maintained without serious damage during the final deprotection with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA). The most notable finding was the counter-ion-dependent stability change of the octanoyl moiety in the molecule. After consolidation of the counter-ion to TFA (TFA form), the octanoyl group persisted stably upon dissolution in water, whereas in the case of the acetate-form peptide, both de-octanoylation and dehydration (formation of the dehydro-Ala residue) occurred in aqueous solution at the same Ser3 residue. The amounts of these degraded products varied with factors such as solvent, temperature and times of lyophilization. These experimental findings lay the basis for performing the bioassay of ghrelin, which has an octanoyl moiety involved in its numerous biological activities thus far revealed.  相似文献

Two iridoid glycosides have been isolated from Viburnum betulifolium. Viburnalloside, the major leaf glycoside, is composed of an iridoid aglucone acylated at C-1 with isovaleric acid and with a di-O-acetyl-β-D-allopyranosyl moiety attached through a glycosidic bond to C-11. Decapetaloside (10-hydroxyiridodial glucoside) has been isolated from the bark. The structure and absolute configuration of viburnalloside have been established by spectroscopic means, and those of decapetaloside by chemical correlation with adoxoside.  相似文献

Flavonoid glycosides have been isolated from a species of the (primitive) order of liverworts, Calobryales, for the first time. The endemic New Zealand species, Haplomitrium gibbsiae, was found to contain acylated derivatives of apigenin-7-glucoside, apigenin 7,4′-diglucoside and isoscutellarein-7-glucoside, all of which are unique to the Bryophytes. The possible taxonomic and phylogenetic relevance of these findings is discussed.  相似文献

Four new ( 1 – 4 ) and one known ( 5 ) acylated iridoid glycosides were isolated from the aerial parts of Veronicastrum sibiricum (L.) Pennell . The chemical structures of the isolated compounds were determined to be 3″,4″‐dicinnamoyl‐6‐O‐rhamnopyranosyl‐10‐O‐bergaptol‐5,7‐bisdeoxycynanchoside ( 1 ), 3″,4″‐dicinnamoyl‐6‐O‐rhamnopyranosylpaulownioside ( 2 ), 2″,4″‐dicinnamoyl‐6‐O‐rhamnopyranosylcatalpol ( 3 ), 3″,4″‐dicinnamoyl‐6‐O‐rhamnopyranosylaucubin ( 4 ), and 3″,4″‐dicinnamoyl‐6‐O‐rhamnopyranosylcatalpol ( 5 ) using spectroscopic techniques. Among these compounds, compound 5 increased antioxidant response element (ARE) luciferase activity.  相似文献

Aims

Data on the association between the ghrelin Leu72Met polymorphism and type 2 diabetes are conflicting. A meta-analysis was performed on this topic.

Methods

We searched for case–control studies using electronic databases (Medline and PubMed) and reference lists of studies. Odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) assuming dominant, recessive and homozygote comparison genetic models were calculated.

Results

Six case–control studies involving a total of 3417 cases and 3081 controls were included in this meta-analysis. No association was found between the ghrelin Leu72Met polymorphism and type 2 diabetes risk in the overall population in dominant, recessive and homozygote comparison models. However, in subgroup analyses stratified by ethnicity, we found that the risk for type 2 diabetes was decreased in subjects with Met72 + genotypes in Caucasians (OR = 0.79, 95% CI: 0.64–0.98, Pz = 0.030).

Conclusion

The ghrelin Leu72Met polymorphism was protective against type 2 diabetes in Caucasians. Future studies performed in larger sample size are needed to allow a more definitive conclusion.  相似文献
