Description of a new species of the genus Glenea from Tibet, China (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Lamiinae, Saperdini)

A new species, Glenea jinisp. n. is described from Tibet, China. It can be separated from other species of the genus Glenea Newman by the complicated black and ochre markings as well as characters of the genitalia.     

An aberrant species of Nipponocercyon from Sichuan, China (Coleoptera, Hydrophilidae, Sphaeridiinae)

A detailed examination of specimens of Cryptopleurum sichuanicum Ryndevich, 2005 from high altitudes of Sichuan Province, China, revealed that the species belongs in the genus Nipponocercyon Satô, 1963 previously endemic to Japan. The species is here transferred in Nipponocercyon, and Nipponocercyon sichuanicus (Ryndevich, 2005), comb. n. is redescribed and compared with Nipponocercyon shibatai Satô, 1963. The male genitalia of Nipponocercyon sichuanicus is described for the first time. An adapted diagnosis of Nipponocercyon is provided, and reasons for the inclusion of Nipponocercyon sichuanicus into Nipponocercyon and the general distribution of the genus are discussed.     

Contribution to the knowledge of the leaf-beetle fauna (Coleoptera,Chrysomelidae) of Eastern Kazakhstan

Chrysolina undulata asperata Lopatin is promoted to the species Chrysolina asperata Lop., stat. n., and is redescribed. A new species, Chrysolina tatianae Mikhailov sp. n. closely related to Ch. ordinata Gebl., is described from the Narymo-Bukhtarminskaya Depression, based on the adults and 2nd-instar larva. New data on the ecology and distribution of Chrysolina kabaki Lop., Ch. katonica Lop., and Ch. oirota Lop. are given.     

The Tipulidae (Diptera) of northern Morocco with a focus on the Rif region,including the description of a new species of Tipula (Lunatipula) and an updated checklist for Morocco

An overview of the Tipulidae known to occur in northern Morocco with an emphasis on the Rif mountains is given, incorporating new distribution data based on recently collected material in the area. Dolichopeza (Dolichopeza) hispanica, Tipula (Lunatipula) subpustulata, and Tipula (Yamatotipula) afriberia afriberia are recorded for the first time for the Rif. Tipula (L.) stimulosa Mannheims, 1973 and T. (Vestiplex) vaillanti vaillanti Theowald, 1977 are reported for the first time for the Rif and Morocco. Tipula (Lunatipula) pseudocinerascens Strobl, 1906 and Tipula (Savtshenkia) confusa van der Wulp, 1883 are recorded for the first time for the Rif, Morocco and North Africa. A new species of the subgenus Lunatipula, T. (L.) pjotri n. sp., is described and illustrated. Nephrotoma exastigma, previously reported for the Rif, seems to be absent in Morocco. Reports of Tipula (Emodotipula) obscuriventris Strobl, 1900 for Morocco actually refer to T. (E.) leo. This brings the number of Tipulidae for Morocco to 39 species and for the Rif to 28. An updated checklist of the Tipulidae of Morocco is provided.     

Revision of Phaedon Latreille from China (Coleoptera:Chrysomelidae)

Sixteen species of the genus Phaedon Latreille are revised and illustrated from China, including five new species described herein, namely P. geminatus sp. nov., P. huizuensis sp. nov., P. igori sp. nov., P. insolitus sp. nov., P. prosternalis sp. nov. All species are redescirbed or original described. Figures of important morphological features are provided. The natural history of some species are provided including the host plants records. A key to species of Phaedon from China is presented. The type specimens of the new species described here are deposited in Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences(IZCAS), Mauro Daccordi collection(MDC), Horst Kippenberg collection(HKC) and Zoological Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences(ZIN).     

Contribution to the knowledge of the genus Ainu (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae: Stenochiinae)

The genus ErulipusFairmaire, 1903 (previously in the subfamily Tenebrioninae, tribe Helopini), after the study of the type species (Erulipus fruhstorferiFairmaire, 1903), is transferred to the genus AinuLewis, 1894 (subfamily Stenochiinae, the tribe Cnodalonini) as a subgenus. Consequently, two new combinations are established: Ainu (Erulipus) fruhstorferi (Fairmaire, 1903), comb. nov. and Ainu (s. str.) multicolor (Pic, 1927), comb. nov. The syntypes of Erulipus fruhstorferi and Erulipus multicolorPic, 1927 are studied and the new synonym is proposed: Erulipus fruhstorferi?=?Ainu grandisRen and Yuan, 2005, syn. nov. Two new species are described from China: Ainu linwenxini Nabozhenko & Ren, sp. nov. (Taiwan) and Ainu basifemoratum Nabozhenko & Ren, sp. nov. (Yunnan). Both the new species are closely related to A. sichuanumRen and Yuan, 2015.     

Pteromalid parasitoids (Hymenoptera) of Oulema oryzae (Kuwayama) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) from Japan, with notes on Pteromalus bifoveolatus

The present paper discusses three Japanese species of Pteromalidae reared from cocoons of the rice beetle Oulema oryzae (Kuwayama, 1929) (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae). Pteromalus cyclostomus Ishizaki sp. nov. is described. Spaniopus monospilus (Thomson, 1878) and Usubaia liparae Kamijo, 1983 are newly recognized as parasitoid wasps of O. oryzae , and the former is also recorded from Japan for the first time. Pteromalus bifoveolatus Förster, 1861 is also newly recorded from Japan, with a new host record from Samia cynthia pryeri (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae).     

A new genus of seed beetles (Coleoptera,Chrysomelidae, Bruchinae) in Baltic amber

The new genus and new species of seed beetles (Copeoptera, Chrysomelidae, Bruchinae) Electrocaryedon poinari gen. et sp. nov. are described from the Late Eocene Baltic amber. This new genus differs from the genus Caryedon Schoenherr, 1823 in the completely separate procoxal cavities, not shortened lateral carina on pronotum, and wider body with sparse setae.     

新疆羽纹藻属（硅藻门）的中国新记录

2001年7月至8月,在新疆维吾尔自治区17个采样地采集硅藻标本,经光镜观察,共鉴定出羽纹藻属(硅藻门)的中国新记录5种2变种,即:喜盐羽纹藻Pinnularia halophilaKrammer、模糊型羽纹藻P.obscuriformisKram-mer、奥瑞恩达羽纹藻P.oriundaKrammer、瑞卡德羽纹藻P.reichardtiiKrammer、近曲缝羽纹藻P.substreptorapheKrammer、近曲缝羽纹藻博恩变种P.substreptoraphevar.bornholmianaKrammer和淡绿型羽纹藻小变种P.viridiformisvar.minorKrammer,并对其分类学特征以及生境特征进行了描述。为新疆的藻类资源提供了基础资料,为中国淡水羽纹藻科志书的编写积累了资料。     

中国光鞘薪甲属一新纪录种再描记（鞘翅目：薪甲科）

记述光鞘薪甲属中国新纪录种Corticaria elongata(Gyllenhal,1827),对该种进行了重新描记,提供了该属中国已知种名录。     

A new species of Borgatomelissa Patiny, 2000 from eastern Morocco: Borgatomelissa flavimaura n. sp. (Hymenoptera,Andrenidae)

Until now, two species of Borgatomelissa Patiny, 2000 have been described, both from loci typici located in the Near East and eastern Africa. Borgatomelissa brevipennis (Walker, 1871), the most widespread taxon, has also been found in the southern Sahelo-Sudanian belt of the Sahara. A third species from eastern Morocco is described in the present study: Borgatomelissa flavimaura n. sp. In addition to taxonomic insights, the new species sheds a new light on the biogeography of the genus.     

New species and new faunistic records of the family Meloidae Gyllenhal, 1810 (Coleoptera: Tenebrionoidea) from China,with a list of meloid species from Xinjiang

Mylabris (Eumylabris) bolognai Pan sp. nov. is described and illustrated. Meanwhile, one newly recorded subgenus, Meloe (Meloegonius) Reitter, 1911, and two newly recorded species, Meloe (Meloegonius) cicatricosus Leach, 1815 and Mylabris (Argabris) impedita impedita (Heyden, 1883), from China are reported and illustrated. Furthermore, a list of meloid species from Xinjiang is carried out, and Euzonitis quadrimaculata (Pallas, 1782) is newly recorded from Xinjiang.     

中国新疆地区粉虱种类（半翅目：粉虱科）记述

记述了新疆地区粉虱5属6种,即欧洲甘蓝粉虱Aleyrodes proletella(Linnaeus),葡萄穴粉虱Aleurolobus shantungi Tang,非洲小粉虱Bemisia afer(PriesnerHosny),烟粉虱Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius),桑粉虱Pealius mori(Takahashi),温室白粉虱Trialeurodes vaporariorum(Westwood),其中葡萄穴粉虱为新疆新记录种。并且用扫描电镜对其伪蛹进行拍照,并依据玻片标本进行了描述。编制了新疆地区粉虱分类检索表。     

Pachybrachis (Coleoptera,Chrysomelidae, Cryptocephalinae) of Eastern Canada

SeventeenPachybrachis species occurring in eastern Canada [Ontario (ON), Québec (QC), New Brunswick (NB), Nova Scotia (NS), and Prince Edward Island (PE)] are treated by the authors. Two new national records were discovered, both from southernmost Ontario:P. cephalicus Fall andP. luctuosus Suffrian. Four species were new provincial records:P. cephalicus (ON),P. luctuosus (ON, QC),P. obsoletus Suffrian (NB),P. peccans (PE). A fully illustrated key to thePachybrachis of eastern Canada is provided and supported with extensive photographs, distribution maps, and plant associations.Three species were distributed from southern Ontario into at least one province in the Maritimes (P. nigricornis (Say),P. obsoletus SuffrianandP. peccans Suffrian). Six species were distributed along the shores of the Great Lakes (Erie, Michigan, and Ontario) and rivers (Ottawa, Saguenay and St. Lawrence), but unknown from central and northern ON and QC (P. bivittatus (Say),P. hepaticus hepaticus (F. E. Melsheimer),P. othonus othonus (Say),P. pectoralis (F. E. Melsheimer),P. spumarius SuffrianandP. trinotatus (F. E. Melsheimer)). Seven species were rare, five being found exclusively from southern ON (P. calcaratus Fall,P. cephalicus,P. luridus (Fabricius),P. subfasciatus (J. E. LeConte)andP. tridens (F. E. Melsheimer)), with two having, in addition, a disjunct population in QC (P. atomarius (F. E. Melsheimer)andP. luctuosus). One species was found to be the northern most extension of an eastern United States (US) distribution into the eastern townships of QC (P. m-nigrum (F. E. Melsheimer)). There were noPachybrachis that could be considered arctic, subarctic, or boreal species; no specimens were found from Labrador and Newfoundland, and all species had southern affinities.Pachybrachis atomarius,P. calcaratus,P. luridus,P. subfaciatus, andP. tridens, not seen over the last 30–70 years, may be extirpated from eastern Canada.     

北京的脊虎天牛属分类研究(鞘翅目:天牛科)

对分布于北京的10种脊虎天牛属甲虫开展了分类研究,恢复了北京脊虎天牛Xylotrechus pekingensis Pic,1939的地位,不再是宽带脊虎天牛Xylotrechus yanoi Gressitt,1934的异名,报道了本种在河北和陕西的新分布记录.提出双带脊虎天牛Xylotrechus bifenestratus Pic,1916是四带脊虎天牛Xylotrechus polyzonus (Fairmaire,1888)的新异名,两者的模式标本均产自北京.本文还报道了3种北京新记录种:显纹脊虎天牛X.ibex (Gebler,1825)、葡脊虎天牛X.pyrrhoderus Bates,1873和黑胸脊虎天牛X.robusticollis (Pic,1936).通过检视标本,很多新的分布信息被加入到相关的种类.最后本文提供了分布于北京的10种脊虎天牛属甲虫的分种检索表.     

A new contribution to the cytogenetic knowledge of Alticinae (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae)

Seven species of Alticinae, mostly from Spain, have been chromosomally surveyed from male meiotic or mitotic cells. The two Spanish species of Oedionychus, O. cinctus and O. limbatus, have shown a karyotype of 2n=16+X+Y, with a lower number of autosomes than in their congeneric Neotropical species, but sharing with them the giant distance-paired sex-chromosomes. The Uruguayan Macrohaltica transversa has a 11+X+y meioformula, which agrees with that found in four congeneric species and in most ones of the allied genus Altica. The meioformula of Hermaeophaga ruficollis 7+Xy, differs only slightly from that reported in another congeneric species. Moreover those of Longitarsus aeruginosus 11+Xy, L. australis 13+Xy, and Psylliodes obscuroaeneus 15+Xy(p,) are similar to some of those previously published for other species in both genera.     

Contributions to the knowledge of the leaf beetles (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) of Russia

A new species, Macroplea skomorokhovi sp. n., is described from the Russian Far East, and a key to species of the genus Macroplea Curtis is given. Cryptocephalus oxysternus Jacobson (Primorskii Territory) and Longitarsus truncatellus Weise (northern Caucasus) are recorded for the Russian fauna for the first time.
