Distribution of pathogens and their antibiotic resistance in lower respiratory infection of patients with head injuries

Objective To investigate the distribution of pathogens and their antibiotic resistance in head injuried patients with lower respiratory infections,and help doctors to use antibiotic reasonably.Method The pathogens isolated from 113 sputum specimens of lower respiratory infection of patients with head injuries were identified and tested by VITEK-2 microbe identification and drug-sensitivity system.Result A total of 179 strains pathogenic bacteria were obtained from the 113 patients.Among them 122 were Gram-negative bacteria,accounted for 68.1%,in which Klebsiella,Stenotrophomonas maltophilia and Enterobacter were the main Gram-negative bacilli;38 were Gram-positive bacteria,accounted for 21.2%,in which Staphylococcus were the main Gram positive cocci;19 were fungi,accounted for 10.6%.Conclusion The major cause of the bacterial infection of lower respairatory tract in head injuried patients is Gram-negative bacteria.Clinical doctors should pay attention to regular inspection of pathogenic infection and its drug resistance evaluation,and administer appropriate antibiotics.
