Population fluctuations ofGlaux maritima, along a transect on a Baltle sea shore meadow, were recorded between 1979 and 1983. A bimodal distribution in numbers along the transect reflects the variation in factors regulating numbers: The two maintenance systems of the species, vegetative propagation and sexual reproduction play different roles. Vegetative propagation is fast and responds quickly to variations in the environment. The seeds germinate in strongly fluctuating temperatures which are triggered by disturbances such as flooding, damaging the vegetation.  相似文献

Summary Nauclea diderrichii (De Wild, and Th. Dur.) Merill (Rubiaceae), an indigenous hardwood of West Africa, is increasingly being grown commercially. This study investigates the potential for vegetative propagation and clonal selection, and raises some fundamental questions about the physiology of apical dominance and of plagiotropism. Rooting ability was high, with up to 100% rooting in 2–4 weeks, when different Indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) concentrations and leaf areas were tested. Auxin applications greatly increased the numbers of roots per cutting. The decapitation of unbranched plants revealed clonal variation in apical dominance and also in the establishment of outright dominance by the two shoots formed from the outgrowth of the axillary buds of the opposite leaves at the top node. Regression analysis of the Dominance Ratio (length of dominant: length of the sub-dominant shoot at the time of achieving dominance) against overall lateral bud activity (r = 0.82), showed that when the two top shoots co-dominate they provide a more powerful source of Correlative Inhibition than when one of the top shoots dominates the other. The imposition of plagiotropism in the axillary bud occurred over a period of a few days as the terminal and axillary buds emerged from the stipule. Growth of accessory buds on intact plants and debranched cuttings was orthotropic. These results are discussed with regard to the role of the leaf in root formation and the understanding of dominance relationships, branching and crown development in trees.  相似文献

本文报道我国特有的一种绿藻门植物-泡状饶氏藻营养细胞的超微结构特征,植物体由3层细胞组成,外层细胞最小,细胞质比较丰富,含有较多的各种细胞器,液泡体积较小,中层细胞具有很大的中央液泡,细胞质成为贴壁的薄层,各种细胞器结构仍清晰可见,内层细胞极度液泡化,细胞质呈现退化状态,周生的片状叶绿体上有许多大小不等的穿孔,使叶绿体呈网孔状外貌,叶绿体主要由许多成对的类囊体组成,叶绿体上往往有几个蛋白核,蛋白核经常被1或2条类囊体穿过,呈现分隔状,本文也报道了泡状饶氏藻的线粒体,质体,内质网,高尔基体和核内微管的结构特征,根据泡状饶氏藻的类囊体形态与Ulva mutabilis非常相似以及蛋白核的超微结构特征,它与石莼科植物可能有较密切的亲缘关系,属于绿藻门中进化的类群。  相似文献

Summary In 30 genotypes of ramie (Boehmeria nivea L. Gaud.) there were significant genotypic differences in the weight of reproductive parts (male + female flowers), vegetatively propagating parts (clump and rhizome) and non-propagating vegetative parts (leaf and root). The weight of reproductive parts was significantly and positively associated with the weight of vegetatively propagating parts. Path-coefficient analysis revealed that the selection of genotypes with a high weight of reproductive parts should be based on genotypes with a high weight of vegetatively propagating parts.  相似文献

Summary The formation and subsequent growth of roots by cuttings of poinsettia, hydrangea, rose and azalea in various propagation media, Jiffy-7, Jiffy-9 and Grodan under different conditions of aeration was investigated. The interrelationships of the effects of air content of the media, temperature and light intensity on the rooting of poinsettia cuttings was also studied.With low air contents (0 cm moisture tension) in the propagation media the formation and growth of roots was strongly inhibited. The rooting performance of rose appeared to be less affected by the poor aeration. Increasing air content improved rooting but best results were obtained at moisture tensions of 4 to 8 cm. Rooting seems to be better correlated with oxygen diffusion rate (ODR) than with air content.For poinsettia cuttings the optimum temperature for rooting was 24 to 28°C. At low temperatures rooting was delayed while at higher temperatures it was almost completely inhibited. Callus formation increased with temperature but decreased with increasing moisture tension. Conditions which induced large callus formation inhibited root formation.High light intensity during rooting reduced overall rooting performance and the inhibition was most pronounced in conjunction with high moisture tensions.Report No. 255.  相似文献

Summary Free-living nitrogen-fixingNostoc PCC 73102, a filamentous heterocystous cyanobacterium originally isolated from coralloid roots of the cycadMacrozamia sp., were examined for the presence of an uptake hydrogenase (H2ase) enzyme. In vivo and in vitro hydrogen uptake measurements were used to study activities and SDS-PAGE and Western immunoblots to reveal occurrence of the hydrogenase protein. Also, transmission electron microscopy and immunocytological labeling were used to study the cellular and subcellular distribution of H2ase in theNostoc cells. In vivo measurements demonstrated an active uptake of hydrogen in both light and darkness. Light stimulated in vivo hydrogen uptake with approximately 100%, and this was further doubled by increasing the pH2, from 56 to 208 M H2. An in vitro hydrogen uptake of 1.1 mol H2/ mg (protein)/h was observed when using phenazinemethosulphate as e-acceptor. Western immunoblots revealed that a polypeptide with a molecular weight of about 55 kDa was immunologically related to uptake H2ase holoenzyme purified fromAlcaligenes latus. Immunolocalization demonstrated that the H2ase protein was located both in heterocysts and vegetative cells. A higher specific labeling was associated with the cytoplasmic membranes where the vegetative cells are in contact with each other and where they actually are dividing into two vegetative cells. Using the particle analysis of an image processor, approximately equal H2ase-gold labeling per cell area was observed in the nitrogen-fixing heterocysts compared to the photosynthetic vegetative cells. 本文对天麻种子消化入侵的紫萁小菇菌丝及营养繁殖茎消化蜜环菌过程中,细胞超微结构的变化进行了研究。观察结果表明:紫萁小菇侵入种胚后,染菌胚细胞的细胞器逐渐消失,其细胞质产生囊状体起消化菌丝的作用,存在于胚细胞中的紫萁小菇菌丝有脱壁或失去细胞质成为空腔等变化;种子萌发形成的原球茎消化紫萁小菇的方式同胚萌发阶段类同。蜜环菌侵入原球茎分化的营养繁殖茎后,皮层细胞产生消化酶类颗粒或囊状体包围并分解蜜环菌菌丝;被皮层细胞消化的菌丝残物或部分菌丝进入皮层内面的大型细胞,此时大型细胞的代谢功能显著增强,该细胞中的各种水解酶颗粒及液泡等完成对菌体物质的最终同化。紫萁小菇及蜜环菌先后在天麻有性繁殖和无性繁殖阶段侵染供给其营养,但菌丝被消化过程中的细胞形态变化、被消化方式不完全一致。  相似文献

A single specimen of the early Middle Cambrian (Ordian) orthothecimorph hyolith Gudugu-wan hardmani with preserved gut filling has been discovered in the Montejinni Limestone, Wiso Basin, northern Australia. This represents only the eighth such occurrence worldwide. The specimen is unique among orthothecimorphs in retaining the gut filling in combination with the external mould of the operculum and invites revision of the accepted soft-part recon struction in this group, whereby the opercular lateral processes are now recognized to be ventral. Thus orthothecimorph conchs, if horizontal in life, would have been oriented ventral side down, while hyolithomorphs adopted the reverse orientation: horizontal, ventral side up.  相似文献

本文应用透射电镜对朱顶红成熟花粉水合、活化和萌发的动态过程中营养细胞质的结构和组成变化进行了观察。成熟花粉具质体、线粒体、内质网、高尔基体。微丝束以聚集体的形式存在。花粉活化后,细胞器的数目和结构发生显著变化:质体和线粒体的片层明显增加,内质网片层狭窄,高尔基体活跃产生小泡,脂体降解及微丝聚集体散开。花粉萌发后,细胞质中出现周质微管和被刺小泡,此期细胞器的变化不明显。微丝以纤丝状遍布整个花粉管中。  相似文献
