The thermal behavior of the products obtained from magnesium interaction with powdered femoral bone and carbonate containing synthetic hydroxyapatite under conditions of pH fluctuation in aqueous medium has been investigated. The products, heat treated at different temperatures from 100 to 1300 degrees C, have been characterized by infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction technique. The results show that the interaction with magnesium ion destabilizes the apatitic structure and favours its thermal conversion into beta-tricalcium phosphate (beta-TCP). The replacement of magnesium with calcium in the beta-TCP crystal lattice hinders its subsequent thermal conversion into the alpha form. The influence of magnesium on the thermal stability is much more evident for carbonate-containing synthetic hydroxyapatite than for bone apatite.  相似文献

The effect of different concentrations of LiCl or KCl (0.6–20 meq/liter) on PHA-stimulated lymphocytes from young, old, and Down's syndrome subjects was studied. LiCl showed a dramatic enhancing effect on [3H]thymidine incorporation induced by a suboptimal dose of PHA in old subjects and Down's syndrome patients. An increase of [3H]thymidine incorporation in human lymphocytes stimulated by a suboptimal dose of PHA was also observed with KCl. This effect was higher in old subjects than that observed in young and Down's subjects. LiCl and KCl can modulate and partially restore the derangement in early events of mitogen stimulation which seems to be present in lymphocytes from both old and Down's syndrome subjects.  相似文献

The inhibitory effect of ricin, abrin, and modeccin on protein synthesis by a rabbit reticulocyte lysate is enhanced after preincubation of the toxins with GSH in the presence of a thiol:protein disulfide oxidoreductase purified from bovine liver. The same toxins, as well as the toxin from Viscum album, are reduced also by another thiol:protein disulfide oxidoreductase purified from rat liver cytosol.  相似文献

After cell fusion, polykaryocytes and heterokaryocytes were separated from single cells by a calf serum gradient. Fractions enriched with polykaryocytes were thus obtained. Heterokaryocytes with a prevalence of nuclei from either parental cell were distributed in different fractions of the gradient. The efficiency of the separation procedure is evaluated and its possible application to problems in cell hybridization techniques is discussed.  相似文献

A competitive, sensitive, and rapid enzyme-linked immunoadsorbent assay (ELISA) was developed for the determination of estriol in saliva and in plasma. Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was used as the label enzyme; separation between free and bound steroid was carried out by insolubilized antibody prepared by adsorbing purified IgG of rabbit anti-6-oxoestriol-6-(0-carboxymethyl)oxime-BSA on polystyrene balls. The enzyme activity was measured by a colorimetric reaction using o-phenylenediamine dihydrochloride and hydrogen peroxide as substrate. The sensitivity of the assay was 12 pg/tube.In order to compare ELISA to RIA estriol estimations in different biological fluids, we selected six women during normal pregnancy, from the 30th to the 40th week of gestation. Salivary estriol was assayed by direct and extraction methods, while the corresponding plasma samples of the same subjects were analyzed only for unconjugated estriol by an extraction method.A good agreement was found between the results obtained by RIA and ELISA: r=0.897, p <0.001 between direct RIA and direct ELISA in saliva; r=0.909, p < 0.001 between extraction RIA and direct ELISA in saliva; and r=0.916, p < 0.001 between extraction RIA and extraction ELISA in plasma. A good correlation (r=0.793, p<0.001) was present between plasma samples by RIA and saliva samples by ELISA (direct method).These results indicate that: 1. ELISA is a reliable method for the determination of estriol in plasma and saliva. 2. Saliva samples can be used for the assay of estriol and therefore for the assessment of fetal conditions during pregnancy.  相似文献

Crystallographic and spectroscopic studies were performed on the solid products obtained from magnesium and strontium interaction with carbonate-containing hydroxyapatite under aqueous conditions employing a cyclic pH variation technique. Low concentrations of magnesium and strontium make easier the transformation of carbonate-containing hydroxyapatite into β-tricalcium phosphate by heat treatment. At high concentration magnesium stabilizes the β-tricalcium phosphate crystal structure while the apatite crystal structure is maintained when the Ca/Sr molar ratio decreases. It is suggested that these ions are important in determining the structure of the calcium phosphate deposits in biological tissues during the physiological and pathological local pH variations.  相似文献

Four novel Gram-stain-positive, non spore forming and fructose-6-phosphate phosphoketolase-positive strains were isolated from the faeces of a cotton top tamarin (Saguinus oedipus) and an emperor tamarin (Saguinus imperator). Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA revealed that bifidobacterial strains TRE 1T exhibit close phylogenetic relatedness to Bifidobacterium catulorum DSM 103154 (96.0%) and Bifidobacterium tissieri DSM 100201 (96.0%); TRE DT and TRE HT were closely related to Bifidobacterium longum subsp. longum ATCC 15708T with similarity values of 97.4% and 97.5%, respectively; TRI 7T was closely related to Bifidobacterium tissieri DSM 100201 (96.0%). The Average Nucleotide Identity (ANI) and in silico DDH (isDDH) analysis with closest neighbour supported an independent phylogenetic position of all strains with values ranged from 74 to 85% for ANI and from 24 to 28% for isDDH. DNA base composition of the four strains was in the range of 58.3–63.5 mol% G + C. Based on the phylogenetic, genotypic and phenotypic data, the strains TRE 1T, TRE DT, TRE HT and TRI 7T clearly represent four novel taxa within the genus Bifidobacterium for which the names Bifidobacterium primatium sp. nov. (type strain TRE 1T = DSM 100687T = JCM 30945T), Bifidobacterium scaligerum sp. nov. (type strain TRE DT = DSM 103140T = JCM 31792T), Bifidobacterium felsineum sp. nov. (type strain TRE HT = DSM 103139T = JCM 31789T) and Bifidobacterium simiarum sp. nov. (type strain TRI 7T = DSM 103153T = JCM 31793) are proposed.  相似文献
