A strain of Streptomyces, MBRL 179T, isolated from a sample from a Limestone quarry located at Hundung, Manipur, India, was characterized by polyphasic taxonomy. The strain formed a monophyletic clade with Streptomyces spinoverrucosus NBRC 14228T (16S rRNA gene sequence similarity of 99.3 %) in the Neighbour-joining tree. DNA–DNA hybridization experiment gave a DNA–DNA relatedness value of 34.7 % between MBRL 179T and S. spinoverrucosus NBRC 14228T. Strain MBRL 179T contained LL-diaminopimelic acid, xylose, glucose, and mannose in the whole cell-wall hydrolysates along with small amount of ribose. The major polar lipids detected were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylinositolmannoside, with other unknown phospholipids and aminophospholipid. MK-9(H6), MK-9(H8) and MK-9(H4) were the predominant menaquinones detected. The major fatty acids were anteiso-C16:0 (28.1 %), iso-C16:0 (20.3 %), C16:0 (9.4 %) and anteiso-C17:0 (8.3 %). The G+C content of the genomic DNA was 71.1 %. Based on the polyphasic experiment results, the strain MBRL 179T merits recognition as a representative of a novel species of the genus Streptomyces for which the name Streptomyces muensis sp. nov. is proposed; the type strain is MBRL 179T (=JCM 17576T = KCTC 29124T). 相似文献

Glycan fragmentation forms an integral part of the current research in glycomics. Creation of a database of glycan fragments and their masses for known glycan structures is an important step in the interpretation of mass spectra for the identification of unknown glycan structures. This paper introduces the concept of positional nomenclature, gives a systematic representation of glycan structure of any size, and hence develops a method for theoretically generating all possible first and second generation fragments resulting from glycosidic and cross ring cleavages. Matrix equations are developed for the calculation of theoretical masses. Algorithm is presented for iterative generation of all fragments and calculation of their masses. This method is applicable to glycan analytical techniques using MS, MS/MS, and multistage MS (MSn) with different ionization methods, derivatives, or ions used. The method is adaptable to computer program and has been verified for theoretical masses reported in literature. Rules for the theoretical validation of the fragments are presented. 相似文献

AbstractMillettia pachycarpa (Bentham), a perennial climbing tree, found endemic in north-east India used by tribes for treating various ailments. To ascertain the potential of M. pachycarpa for pest management, the present investigation was formulated against a polyphagous pest, Spodoptera litura (Fabricius). Growth inhibitory activity of various extracts and extract fractions was evaluated against third instar larvae of S. litura through topical as well as diet incorporation method. It was observed that dichloromethane extract showed very good growth inhibition in both topical (GI50 7.77?ppm) and diet incorporation methods (GI50< 5?ppm). The growth inhibitory potential of this plant is also demonstrated by the presence of various abnormalities and reduction in larval and pupal weight. 相似文献

Numerous researches have been carried out in Zingiber zerumbet Smith. Since 1944 till date. Z. zerumbet is a monocotyledonous perennial medicinal plant belonging to Zingiberaceae family. It is commonly known as shampoo ginger.
It has many different local names depending on their area of collection and vegetation. It is called as ‘Singkha’ in Manipuri.
Various compounds have been reported to be isolated from Z. zerumbet and they serve a very potent and reliable drug candidate for the various diseases. They have been investigated for its prospects
of effectiveness against number of activities in in vitro as well as in vivo and mechanisms that may be involved in chemo
preventive measures and various pharmaceutical studies. 相似文献
