Annotated checklist of the Hydraenidae (Coleoptera: Staphylinoidea) recorded from Iran

According to our analysis of literature sources on the family Hydraenidae (Coleoptera: Staphylinoidea) of Iran, it is represented by 67 species and three genera: Hydraena Kugelann, 1794 (21 species), Limnebius Leach, 1815 (six species) and Ochthebius Leach, 1815 (40 species). Twenty-two species are supposed to be endemic to Iran. Here, for the first time, we summarize species distribution data in Iranian provinces and present them in a checklist of Iranian Hydraenidae. We also present two additional species lists: one with incorrect records (one species and one subspecies) and the other with unidentified species.

Biotransformation of monoterpenes by Oocystis pusilla

The biotransformation of several monoterpenes by the locally isolated unicellular microalga, Oocystis pusilla was investigated. The metabolites were identified by thin layer chromatography and GC/MS. The results showed that O. pusilla had the ability to reduce the C=C double bond in (+)-carvone to yield trans-dihydrocarvone and traces of cis-dihydrocarvone. O. pusilla also converted (+)-limonene to trans-carveol, as the main product, and yielded carvone and trans-limonene oxide. Furthermore, (−)-linalool was converted to trans-furanoid and trans-pyranoid linalool oxide, thymol was converted to thymoquinone, (−)-carveol was converted to carvone and trans-dihydrocarvone, (−)-menthone and (+)-pulegone were converted to menthol, (L)-citronellal was converted to citronellol, and (+)-β-pinene was converted to trans-pinocarveol.     

Annotated checklist of Iranian Hydrophilidae (Coleoptera: Polyphaga: Hydrophiloidea)

This checklist comprises all species of Hydrophilidae (Coleoptera: Hydrophiloidea) quoted in the literature referring to Iran and confirmed by our study. In total, 104 species within 17 genera and five subfamilies, Hydrophilinae (eight genera, 63 species), Chaetarthriinae (three genera, five species), Enochrinae (single genus, 20 species), Acidocerinae (single genus, three species) and Sphaeridiinae (four genera, 13 species), are listed for the fauna of Iran. Three species are endemic; four species are recorded here for the first time from Iran, and nine species are excluded from Iranian fauna.     

An annotated checklist of Iranian aquatic Polyphaga: Georissidae,Helophoridae, Hydrochidae,Spercheidae, Curculionidae and Erirhinidae (Insecta: Coleoptera)

Abstract

The checklist comprises all species of six families of Iranian aquatic Polyphaga (Coleoptera). In total, 43 species/subspecies within the families, Georissidae (one species), Helophoridae (25 species and two subspecies), Hydrochidae (three species), Spercheidae (one species), Curculionidae (nine species) and Erirhinidae (two species) are listed for the fauna of Iran. Helophorus (Rhopalohelophorus) nanus Sturm, 1836 Sturm, J. (1836), Deulschlands Fauna in Abbildungen nach der Natur mit Beschreibungen. V. Abtheilung. Die Inseclen. Zehntes Bändchen. 伊朗粉虱寄生蜂种类记述(膜翅目:广腹细蜂科、姬小蜂科、蚜小蜂科)

本文报道了伊朗寄生粉虱的25种寄生蜂,分别隶属于膜翅目的广腹细蜂科、姬小蜂科和蚜小蜂科,其中15种寄生蜂种类为伊朗的分布新纪录(标有*号者)。
