Because the use of percutaneous intervention is increasing for the closure of the patent ductus arteriosus, the procedure-related complications are also on rise, with migration of the device being most common. The routine practice is to remove the migrated duct occluder device under cardiopulmonary bypass. Amplatzer duct occluder used in a 4-month-old infant dislodged into the descending thoracic aorta. It was removed by the posterolateral thoracotomy under mild hypothermia through juxtaductal aortotomy between the aortic cross-clamps. The use of cardiopulmonary bypass is thus avoided. 相似文献

The rich wealth of Citrus genetic resources makes India to enjoy a remarkable position in the “Citrus belt of the world”. We have
developed CIBMAN, a unique database on Citrus biodiversity of Manipur which comprises 33 accessions collected through
extensive survey for more than three years. CIBMAN provides integrated access to Citrus species through sophisticated web interface
which has following capabilities a) morphological details, b) socio-economic details, c) taxonomic details and d) geographical
distribution. Morphological variability among Citrus accessions is due to variance in their genome which contributes to diverse
agronomical traits and diverse bioactive compounds of high value. This diverse gene pool can be potential source for genetic
improvement of existing cultivars and rootstocks. Systematic collection, characterization and conservation of the underutilized or
lesser exploited varieties is required for incorporating in breeding program and conserve the germplasm from ever going on
genetic erosion. This database will be useful for scientific validations and updating of traditional wisdom in bioprospecting aspects
especially industrialization of Citrus found in the state. Further, the features will be suited for detailed investigation on potential
medicinal and edible Citrus that make CIBMAN a powerful tool for sustainable management.

Being poor man''s apple, banana has a wide popularity worldwide. It''s one of the important horticultural crops used irrespective of
rich and poor alike. Manipur along with the other states of Northeast India harboured with plenty of wild and cultivated species of
banana that are not fully explored. A data base named DEBDOM has been developed here describing the diversity of banana
resources of Manipur and it comprises twenty eight genotypes of Musaceae. The database DEBDOM provides a sophisticated web
base access to the details of the taxonomy, morphological characteristics, utility as well as sites of collection of Musa genotypes, and
it would have contribute as a potential gene pool sources for the conservation, sustainability as well as for crop improvement in the
future breeding programmes.

This database will be useful for scientific validations and updating of traditional wisdom in bioprospecting aspects. It will be useful in analyzing the insect biodiversity for the development of virgin resources and their industrialization. Further, the features will be suited for detailed investigation on potential medicinal and edible insects that make MEIMAN a powerful tool for sustainable management. Inflammation has been reported to play an important role in cardiac surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass due to systemic endotoxemia. In order to develop strategies against this injury in future we studied the combined effect of a number of inflammatory mediators in myocardial ischemia/reperfusion. Coronary sinus blood samples of ten patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) were obtained at three time intervals (1) before onset of bypass (2) 30 min after cross clamp, and (3) 10 min after removal of cross clamp. The samples were subjected to evaluate levels of nitric oxide byproducts (nitrite and nitrate and citrulline), inflammatory cytokines (interleukin-2, interferon- and interleukin-6), adhesion molecules, (CD62L and CD54), ratio of cell surface markers (CD4/CD8 and TCR/) cell activation markers (CD69 and HLA DR) and second messengers (protein kinase C, inositol 1,4,5 triphosphate and intracellular calcium levels). Ischemia and further reperfusion resulted in significant rise in nitrite and nitrate levels (p < 0.001), interleukin-6 (p < 0.01), CD62L (p < 0.001), CD69 (p < 0.05), protein kinase C (p < 0.001) and intracellular calcium (p < 0.001). A fall in CD4/CD8 ratio was observed on reperfusion. These changes during CABG show that ischemia/reperfusion leads to a release of an array of pro-inflammatory mediators of tissue injury, which could lead to pathophysiological changes. Hence the study suggests the need of some protective therapies against these inflammatory markers. 相似文献
