Various chemicals commonly found in food (twelve monosaccharides, nine sugar alcohols, twenty triglycerides, eleven unsaturated fatty acids and nine saturated fatty acids) were tested in different concentrations for their ability to attract and sustain feeding by the dried-fruit mite,Carpoglyphus lactis (L.). 125I-Wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) binding parameters of human urothelial cell lines of different grades of transformation (TGrll and TGrlll) were compared. The values of association constant (Ka) and the number of binding sites/cell for HCV29 (TGrll) cell line were about 3×106M–1 and over 4×107, respectively. Two TGrlll cell lines, HCV29T and Hu549 revealed lower values for Ka, and considerably higher numbers of binding sites/cell (about 3×108 and 2×108, respectively). Binding of125I-WGA to total cellular proteins resolved by SDS-PAGE and transferred to nitrocellulose showed multiple diffused bands in the range of 58–180 kDa. Some of these bands were characteristic for TGrll cells (124 kDa) or TGrlll cells (135 and 148 kDa).Abbreviations TGr

Abstract Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) of 33 strains of Hafnia alvei were isolated and purified. LPS content of the dry bacterial mass ranged from 1.2 to 4.5%. All examined lipopolysaccharides contained glucose, glucosamine, heptose, 3-deoxy-octulosonic acid and often galactose. Rhamnose, mannose, galactosamine, mannosamine and unidentified amino sugars were found in some H. alvei strains. Sialic acid was present in LPS of one strain. d -3-Hydroxybutyryl groups also were identified in lipopolysaccharides of 5 strains of this genus.

We sequenced bacteriophage T4 genes 2 and 3 and the putative C-terminal portion of gene 50. They were found to have appropriate open reading frames directed counterclockwise on the T4 map. Mutations in genes 2 and 64 were shown to be in the same open reading frame, which we now call gene 2. This gene codes for a protein of 27,068 daltons. The open reading frame corresponding to gene 3 codes for a protein of 20,634 daltons. Appropriate bands on polyacrylamide gels were identified at 30 and 20 kilodaltons, respectively. We found that the product of the cloned gene 2 can protect T4 DNA double-stranded ends from exonuclease V action. 相似文献

Abstract In DOC-PAGE, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of Proteus mirabilis R14/1959 (Rb-type) mutant showed a ladder-like migration pattern indicating the presence of a high molecular weight polysaccharide chain. The isolated polysaccharide, called T-antigen because of similarity with the T1 chain of Salmonella friedenau LPS, contained d -glucose, d -galacturonic acid ( d -GalA), and d -GlcNAc in molar ratios 2:1:1 and was structurally different from the O-antigen of the parental S-strain P. mirabilis S1959 but identical to the O-antigen of another S-strain Proteus penneri 42. The importance of a d -GalA( l -Lys)-containing epitope, most likely present in the core region of LPS, and of GalA present in the T-antigen chain in manifesting the serological specificity of P. mirabilis R14/1959 were revealed using rabbit polyclonal homologous and heterologous R- and O-specific antisera and the appropriate antigens, including synthetic antigens which represent partial structures of various Proteus LPS. 相似文献

of NK cells was dependent on its initial value both in healthy control and Ab Bomirski melanoma bearing hamsters. If natural

Summary Arginine rich basic proteins from cytoplasm of Ehrlich ascites tumor cells have been separated and partially characterized. All proteins show a cationic character with the following isoelectric points: 8.45, 8.60, 8.70, 8.90, and possess various amount of arginine. The protein of the highest molecular weight (75000) has the greatest amount of arginine (18.1%), specific radioactivity (19760 cpm/mg, min) and isoelectric point (8.9). The significance of those proteins in the cytoplasm of tumor cells has been discussed briefly. 相似文献
