In this paper the recent population changes of the Wild Boar in different European countries is analysed through the study of hunting statistics. A simultaneous increase in numbers is observed throughout the whole area during the period 1965–1975. From 1975 onwards the population stabilizes itself apart from in peripheral areas like Finland. Potentially favourable factors which play a part in this process are discussed and certain reproductive and dispersive characteristics which favour its invasive behaviour are discussed.  相似文献

The influence of trophoblast-specific beta 1-glycoprotein (TSG) on the degranulation of mast cells and their saturation with heparin was studied. Introduction of the TSG into the population of mast cells of the rat peritoneal fluid practically does not change their degranulation, but lowers the degree of their saturation with heparin. An antibiotic alone increases the saturation of the cells with heparin. The serum of an allergic animal markedly stimulates the degranulation and lowers the degree of saturation of the mast cells with heparin. In an experimental model (antibiotic--the serum of the allergic mast cells) the mast cells transform into very clear (heparin-free) cells and the degree of saturation is at minimum. The TSG introduction into this system stabilizes the population of mast cells and markedly increases the degree of their saturation with heparin. Although the degranulation is rather intensive, it is less expressed, than in the experimental model. This suggests the presence of TSG receptors on the mast cells (targets of allergic reactions). The possibility to use TSG preparations in the therapy of allergic diseases is discussed.  相似文献

Summary Extremely asymmetric nuclear hybrids have been obtained via protoplast fusion in an intergeneric combination. Irradiated (cobalt60,100 krad) kanamycinresistant Petunia hybrida mesophyll protoplasts were chemically fused with wild-type mesophyll protoplasts of Nicotiana plumbaginifolia. Eighty-six hybrid colonies were selected on kanamycin-containing medium, and twenty-four of these could be induced to regenerate numerous shoots. Cytological analysis of the regenerants showed the presence of a few chromosome fragments in some lines, and even a metacentric chromosome in yet another line. Besides additional chromosome fragments some lines only possessed typical Nicotiana chromosomes, and this at the diploid (2n = 2X = 20) as well as the tetraploid (2n = 2X = 40) level. Biochemical analysis showed that all regenerants had neomycin phosphotransferase activity (NPTII), which suggests that intergenomic recombination and or translocation events took place at least in those lines where no additional chromosome fragments could be detected. The presence of the NPTII gene was shown by Southern hybridization. All regenerants tested were fertile, and the segregation ratios for the kanamycin gene (for self and backcross pollinations to the recipient partner) for some of the regenerants correspond with Mendelian rules for a monogenic dominant marker. Most of the regenerants showed abnormal segregation ratios; in this case, no correlation could be made between segregation ratio and chromosome composition.Our results demonstrate the existence of intergenomic recombination and translocations evens in nuclear somatic hybrid plants obtained via gamma-fusion.  相似文献

In surviving slices of rat hippocampus, isolated from 1 to 4 weeks after septal lesioning by ibotenic acid, extracellular and intracellular responses were recorded in region CA3. Spontaneous and evoked epileptiform focal discharges are described, synchronous with paroxysmal depolarization shifts (PDS) of the membrane potential and with burst activity of cells. It is shown that the development of synchronized population reactions and PDS have an "all or nothing" character. The values of the resting potential and input resistance of the neurons did not differ significantly from those of cells in the control group of slices. Histological analysis showed destruction of neurons in the dorsal part of the septum, with cells of the medial septum being unaffected. Acidic proteinase from the trout spawn is 640 fold purified (yield 22%). Purification includes autolysis, acid treatment, ammonium sulphate fractionation, G-100 Sephadex gel-filtration, ion-exchange chromatography on DEAE-cellulose. Molecular mass of the enzyme under study is 70 kDa according to the data of gel-filtration. Acidic proteinase displays its greatest activity towards hemoglobin (pH 4.0, 37 degrees C) and is inhibited completely by EDTA, by 50%--by Pb2+ and soya inhibitor of trypsin and 2.8 times activated by Zn2+. Enzyme activity is not affected by dithiotreitol, iodine acetate, phenylmethylsulphonylfluoride parachloromercurybenzoate, Hg2+, Na+, Co2+, Ca2+.  相似文献

KMR plasmids controlling antibiotic resistance and the capacity for production of the colonization antigen were identified in wild strains of E. coli (026, 0126, 0124) and S. sonnei isolated from patients with acute intestinal diseases. The strains of E. coli 026 and E. coli 0126 carried p KMR207-1 plasmid determining resistance to chloramphenicol and tetracycline and the adhesive properties. The molecular weight of the plasmid is 98 mD. The strain of S. sonnei carried p KMR 208-1 plasmid responsible for resistance to streptomycin, chloramphenicol and tetracycline and the adhesive properties. The molecular weight of this plasmid is 98 mD. The resistance to streptomycin and tetracycline and the capacity for the synthesis of the colonization antigen in E. coli 0214 was controlled by p KMR209 plasmid with the molecular weight of 2.66 mD. The restriction analysis suggests that p KMR207a-1 and p KMR 207b-1 plasmids detected in E. coli of different serotypes were identical, since they could be broken with BamH1 endonuclease into equal numbers of fragments similar by their molecular weights. p KMR207-1 and p KMR208-1 plasmids differed in their sensitivity to BamH-1 endonuclease. However, they were broken into 6 fragments similar by their molecular weights. p KMR207-1 and p KMR208-1 plasmids are probably closely related but not identical.  相似文献

To study the effect of the intensity, duration, spectral composition, and diameter of the light spot on the amplitude and shape of the response of single rods of the frog retina, potentials were recorded intracellularly. The rods tested could be divided into two groups on the basis of their responses to light spots of different spectral composition: those with maxima of sensitivity at 507 ± 8 nm and 442 ± 8 nm. With an increase in the intensity of light the response amplitude rose gradually and the time for the response to rise to its maximum was shortened. A bright flash temporarily inhibited the sensitivity of the cell to subsequent test flashes. If light spots of larger diameter (1000–1500 µ) were presented a delayed depolarization wave, due to illumination of the distant surroundings of the receptor, was observed in the course of recovery of the photic response; this effect was maximal for stimulation with red light and it was evidently induced by horizontal cell activity. The correlation was studied between the hemolymph pH value and the locomotion rate in the mollusc Lymnaea stagnalis at different degree of activation of the food-procuring behavior. It is established that the hemolymph pH value remains unchanged in the satiated (hungry), freely moving Lymnaea individuals, and, hence, it does not determine the locomotor activity of molluscs in these functional states. In the course of food consumption, locomotion decreases significantly, which is due to an observed decrease of the hemolymph pH. This effect is realized through the corresponding changes of electrical activity of motoneurons of the locomotor network of the Lymnaea nervous system (PeA-cluster). It is suggested that the pH value plays the modulating role in coordination of activities of the nervous centers of the mollusc nutrition and locomotion.  相似文献
