This study evaluated the results of fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) from the first four years of organized mammography screening for breast cancer in Oslo, particularly our policy in differentiating in situ and invasive carcinoma. Lesions were aspirated directly, ultrasound guided, by stereotaxic device or biopsy localization plate. All lesions were aspirated by cytopathologists working with the radiologists at the breast diagnostic centre. Smears were evaluated immediately for assessment of adequacy and a preliminary diagnosis was given to the surgeon. When FNAC revealed malignancy, diagnostic terms were as follows: (1) invasive carcinoma; (2) ductal carcinoma in situ of comedo type (high nuclear grade), cannot evaluate infiltration; (3) ductal carcinoma in situ of low nuclear grade and (4) papillary tumour, cannot evaluate infiltration. There were 953 cases, 70% of which were nonpalpable. Insufficient material was obtained in 5.8%. Absolute and complete sensitivity were 81% and 91%, respectively. Specificity was 85%. There were 448 histologically proven carcinomas. 383 of these were invasive. 362 carcinomas (in situ and invasive) (80.8%) were diagnosed directly on FNAC. Distinction between invasive and in situ carcinoma was possible in 294 of 320 directly diagnosed invasive carcinomas (91.8%). PPV of a diagnosis of invasive carcinoma was 97%. Our data showed that definitive cytological diagnosis of invasive carcinoma was possible in more than 90% of fully diagnostic smears and allowed definitive primary surgery in these women.  相似文献

Four experimental sites located in different climatic regions in Norway were inoculated with Mycocentrospora acerina in 1985. In 1986, crop rotation experiments including carrot, barley, grass, red clover, onion and potato, were established at these sites. Incidence of M. acerina on the foliage and the roots of carrots after storage were recorded in 1989/90 and 1994/95. The 3 yr rotation only slightly reduced the inoculum of M. acerina in the soil. Red clover and grass were the most effective crops in reducing the inoculum, potato and barley were less effective, and onion had no effect on the inoculum. Differences in M. acerina infection on carrots between 3, 6 and 8 yr of rotation with barley and grass were not statistically significant.  相似文献

Teeth from specified members of the two suborders of Late Cretaceous Multituberculata and two Late Cretaceous therians were studied. The enamel was prismatic on all teeth. In the therian representatives and the representatives of the suborder Ptilodontoidea of the Multituberculata, the prism diameters and densities per unit area were similar to those of recent mammals. In the representatives of the suborder Taeniolabidoidea the prisms were very large and their density per unit area was 5 to 8 times lower than in recent mammals. It is suggested that gigantoprismatic enamel is a characteristic of Taeniolabidoidea and could be used as a taxonomic criterion in multituberculate systematics.  相似文献

Evolution has led to changes in the gross anatomy of the arthropod hearts. Changes are also seen in the ultrastructural organization of the cardiomyofiber. Thus the myofilament organization and the membrane systems (T-system and SR) vary within both Chelicerata, Crustacea and Uniramia. Yet, the variation is not haphazard, but constitutes a pattern which cannot be deduced from the gross anatomy. In the three taxa the evolutionary tendency seems to be towards a more strict sarcomeral organization of the myofilaments. This is due to parallelism. The organization of the membrane systems and the spatial relation of the interior couplings are not identical for all arthropods. However, no variations has so far been detected within one and the same order, despite differences in adaptation and size. These systems are conservative and it is suggested that they could be useful in studies of arthropod phylogeny.  相似文献

The heart of the pycnogonids Nymphon (Chaetonymphon) macronyx G. O. Sars and Boreonymphon cf. abyssorum Norman is pseudotubular and lacks an epicardium and an endocardium. The body wall forms the roof over the heart lumen. The myocardium is innvervated, and forms the lateral walls of the heart. Myofibres are absent in the midventral floor. This part is formed by cells of the horizontal septum attached to the gut complex. The myofibres are short. Interdigitating intercalated discs have not been observed, but lateral overlaps are common. Z-, I- and A-bands are seen in the sarcomere. The 2-bands are diffuse and irregular. The sarcolemma invaginates and forms a sparse system of clefts; a poorly developed T-system is indicated. Its presence supports the view that a T-system is inherent in the arthropod myocardium. Couplings are not related to any specific sarcomere band level. It is implied that the thin-walled pseudotubular heart in pycnogonids is a result of a reduction, and that it functions more like a channel than a heart.  相似文献

The present paper discusses the use of myocardial ultrastructure, and its merits, in studies of crustacean phylogeny. It is argued that different modifications of the heart do not affect the membrane systems of the myofibers and that the membrane systems are independent of size and/or adaptation of the species. Finally, the phylogenetic implications of the membrane systems are considered. Using the myocardial membrane systems in addition to the cephalothorax (carapace), compound eyes, respiratory system and heart anatomy, a new phylogenetic arrangement of the larger eumalacostracan orders (Anaspidacea, Amphipoda, Cumacea, Decapoda, Euphausiacea, Isopoda, Mysidacea, Tanaidacea) is suggested. The isopods are regarded as a sister group to the other eumalacostracans.  相似文献
