Various chemicals commonly found in food (twelve monosaccharides, nine sugar alcohols, twenty triglycerides, eleven unsaturated fatty acids and nine saturated fatty acids) were tested in different concentrations for their ability to attract and sustain feeding by the dried-fruit mite,Carpoglyphus lactis (L.). Oleic acid, -d-glucose and some triglycerides act as phagoincitants and phagostimulants, whiled-fucose and trilaurin are phagodeterrents.  相似文献

125I-Wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) binding parameters of human urothelial cell lines of different grades of transformation (TGrll and TGrlll) were compared. The values of association constant (Ka) and the number of binding sites/cell for HCV29 (TGrll) cell line were about 3×106M–1 and over 4×107, respectively. Two TGrlll cell lines, HCV29T and Hu549 revealed lower values for Ka, and considerably higher numbers of binding sites/cell (about 3×108 and 2×108, respectively). Binding of125I-WGA to total cellular proteins resolved by SDS-PAGE and transferred to nitrocellulose showed multiple diffused bands in the range of 58–180 kDa. Summary The localization of vasopressin, serotonin and angiotensin II in the endothelial cells of renal and mesenteric arteries was investigated using the pre-embedding peroxidase-antiperoxidase technique for electron microscopy. Vasopressin-and serotonin-positive endothelial cells were present in both renal and mesenteric arteries while angiotensin II-positive cells were observed in the mesenteric artery exclusively. Both arteries showed less than 10% immunoreactive cells. The lack of angiotensin II in the endothelial cells of the renal artery suggests that there may be subtle physiological differences between the renal and mesenteric arteries with respect to the local control of blood flow.  相似文献

Abstract Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) of 33 strains of Hafnia alvei were isolated and purified. LPS content of the dry bacterial mass ranged from 1.2 to 4.5%. All examined lipopolysaccharides contained glucose, glucosamine, heptose, 3-deoxy-octulosonic acid and often galactose. Rhamnose, mannose, galactosamine, mannosamine and unidentified amino sugars were found in some H. alvei strains. Sialic acid was present in LPS of one strain. d -3-Hydroxybutyryl groups also were identified in lipopolysaccharides of 5 strains of this genus.
SDS-PAGE of the lipopolysaccharides was presented in the paper. According to these results two core types exist in H. alvei .  相似文献

Four bi-antennary glycan fractions of theN-acetyllactosamine-type, derived from a Lewis lung carcinoma (LL2) cell subline resistant to theAleuria aurantia agglutinin were studied by 400 MHz1H-NMR spectroscopy. By this method, their antennae were found to be terminated either by (2-3 or 6)-linkedN-acetylneuraminic acid or (1-3)-linked galactose residues. The fragile site at Xq27.3 is an unstable microsatellite repeat, p(CCG)n. In fragile-X syndrome pedigrees, this sequence exhibits variable amplification, the length of which correlates with fragile-site expression. There is a direct relationship between increased p(CCG)n copy number and propensity for instability: individuals having large amplifications exhibit somatic variation due to increased instability. The instability of the p(CCG)n repeat, when transmitted through affected pedigrees, explains the unusual segregation patterns of fragile-X phenotype, referred to as the Sherman paradox. All individuals of fragile-X genotype were found (where testing was possible) to have a parent with amplified p(CCG)n repeat, indicating that few, if any, cases of fragile-X syndrome are not familial.  相似文献

The localization of neuropeptide Y (NPY) and atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) in the endothelial cells of human umbilical blood vessels was studied using the pre-embedding peroxidase-antiperoxidase (PAP) technique for electron microscopy and avidin-biotin-complex (ABC) immunostaining for endothelial cells cultured from umbilical vein. Subpopulations of NPY- and ANP-immunoreactive endothelial cells were present in term umbilical vein and artery. The umbilical vein contained more positive cells than the artery. The percentage of NPY- and ANP-immunoreactive umbilical vein cells in culture was 32% and 44%, respectively, out of a total of 3013 cells examined. The possibility that these potent vasoactive substances located in the endothelial cells of the non-innervated umbilical vessels are involved in the local regulation of blood flow is discussed.  相似文献

The modulation of NK activity by muramyl dipeptides derivatives against Ab (amelanotic) Bomirski melanoma and human erythroleukemia K562 cells was studied in vitro. The stimulatory effect was observed for 3 of 7 muramyl dipeptides: MDP(L-Ala)C921, MDPC857 and L18-MDP(Ala) in relation to cytotoxic activity of NK cells obtained from peripheral blood and spleen of healthy and Ab Bomirski melanoma bearing hamsters. An increased of cytotoxic activity NK cells isolated from animals before and during the transplantable phase of the tumor against K562 was found. A similar stimulation was received for NK cells obtained from animals against their own melanoma cells. The most significant influence of examined MDP derivatives on the cytotoxic activity of NK cells were obtained from animals between 10 to 12 days of tumor growth. The extent of the modulation of cytotoxic activity of NK cells was dependent on its initial value both in healthy control and Ab Bomirski melanoma bearing hamsters. If natural cytotoxic activity was high the stimulatory effect of the examined MDP derivatives was only slightly expressed.  相似文献
