Potassium and phosphorus transport and signaling in plants   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Nitrogen(N), potassium(K), and phosphorus(P) are essential macronutrients for plant growth and development, and their availability affects crop yield. Compared with N, the relatively low availability of K and P in soils limits crop production and thus threatens food security and agricultural sustainability. Improvement of plant nutrient utilization efficiency provides a potential route to overcome the effects of K and P deficiencies. Investigation of the molecular mechanisms underlying how plants sense, absorb, transport, and use K and P is an important prerequisite to improve crop nutrient utilization efficiency. In this review, we summarize current understanding of K and P transport and signaling in plants, mainly taking Arabidopsis thaliana and rice(Oryza sativa) as examples. We also discuss the mechanisms coordinating transport of N and K, as well as P and N.  相似文献

Protein kinases are major players in various signal transduction pathways. Understanding the molecular mechanisms behind plant responses to biotic and abiotic stresses has become critical for developing and breeding climate-resilient crops. In this review,we summarize recent progress on understanding plant drought, salt, and cold stress responses, with a focus on signal perception and transduction by different protein kinases, especially sucrose nonfermenting1(SNF1)-related protein kinases(Sn RKs),mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK) cascades,calcium-dependent protein kinases(CDPKs/CPKs),and receptor-like kinases(RLKs). We also discuss future challenges in these research fields.  相似文献

The ongoing pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by a novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2,also named as 2019-nCoV or HCoV-19)poses an unprecedented threat to public health(Zhu et al.,2020;Wang et al.,2020;Jiang et al.,2020).The novel HCoV-19 virus has rapidly spread into multiple countries across the world since it was first reported in December 2019.The World Health Organization(WHO)declared COVID-19 as a pandemic on 11th March 2020.As of 4th July, over 10 million confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported in over 200 countries/regions with more than 0.5 million deaths, including 85,287 documented cases and 4,648 deaths in China(WHO,2020a).  相似文献

Dear Editor, A series of studies had focused on the ecological stability of human microbiome (Lozupone et al.,2012;Faith et al.,2013;Moya and Ferrer,2016).Despite the continuous perturbation and the highly personalized composition within the human microbiome (Human Microbiome Project,2012),healthy adults stably maintain their microbial communities in terms of space and time (Faith et al.,2013;Moya and Ferrer,2016;Oh et al.,2016).This stability is proved to be critical for the well-being of human body (Lozupone et al.,2012).On the contrary, major shifts in microbial community composition are often related to diseases (Lynch and Pedersen,2016).  相似文献

Dear Editor, The ongoing coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)global pandemic is caused by a novel coronavirus, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),which instigates severe and often fatal symptoms. As of September 4th,2020,more than 26 million cases of COVID-19 and almost 900,000 deaths have been reported to WHO.Based on Kissler and colleagues'modeled projections of future viral transmission scenarios,a resurgence in SARS-CoV-2 could occur over the next five years(Kissler et al.,2020).Research and clinical trials are underway to develop vacci-nes and treatments for COVID-19,but there are currently no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19(www.who.int),and therapeutic and prophylactic interventions are urgently needed to combat the outbreak of SARS-CoV-2.Of partic-ular importance is the identification of drugs which are effective,less-intrusive,most socioeconomic, and ready-to-use.  相似文献

Advances in high-throughput sequencing(HTS)have fostered rapid developments in the field of microbiome research, and massive microbiome datasets are now being generated. However, the diversity of software tools and the complexity of analysis pipelines make it difficult to access this field. Here,we systematically summarize the advantages and limitations of micro-biome methods. Then,we recommend specific pipelines for amplicon and metagenomic analyses, and describe commonly-used software and databases,to help researchers select the appropriate tools.Furthermore,we introduce statistical and visualization methods suit-able for microbiome analysis, including alpha-and beta-diversity,taxonomic composition, difference compar-isons,correlation,networks,machine learning,evolu-tion,source tracing, and common visualization styles to help researchers make informed choices. Finally,a step-by-step reproducible analysis guide is introduced. We hope this review will allow researchers to carry out data analysis more effectively and to quickly select the appropriate tools in order to efficiently mine the bio-logical significance behind the data.  相似文献

Dear Editor, Primary localized cutaneous amyloidosis (PLCA) is a skin-limited disorder characterized by deposition of amyloid material in the superficial dermis.According to clinical characteristics,PLCA is divided into lichen, macular, and nodular amyloidosis.PLCA is found worldwide but has a higher incidence in South America and Southeast Asia, such as in Brazil and China (Chang et al.,2014;Tey et al.,2016).  相似文献

Although intestinal microbiome have been established as an important biomarker and regulator of cancer development and therapeutic response, less is known about the role of microbiome at other body sites in cancer.Emerging evidence has revealed that the local microbiota make up an important part of the tumor microenvironment across many types of cancer,espe-cially in cancers arising from mucosal sites, including the lung, skin and gastrointestinal tract. The populations of bacteria that reside specifically within tumors have been found to be tumor-type specific, and mechanistic studies have demonstrated that tumor-associated microbiota may directly regulate cancer initiation,pro-gression and responses to chemo-or immuno-thera-pies.This review aims to provide a comprehensive review of the important literature on the microbiota in the cancerous tissue, and their function and mechanism of action in cancer development and treatment.  相似文献
