Seasonal variation in body size and nutritional condition of juvenile walleye pollock Theragra chalcogramma was examined to elucidate the mechanism underlying their first-winter survival on the continental shelf of the Doto area, northern Japan, based on monthly samples collected over 2 years. Stored lipid mass was highest during autumn, but 93% (2004) and 80% (2005) of lipids were exhausted by the onset of winter. Lipid levels in the winter of 2004 remained low (7–14% of the autumnal maximum), and there was reduced growth rate until the spring, whereas in 2005 lipid levels were higher and more variable (10–46% of the maximum) and some growth occurred. An analysis of the allometric relationships between body size and stored energy showed that larger individuals accumulated disproportionately more energy in the autumn, but the advantage disappeared prior to the winter. In January 2004, stored lipid energy was low throughout the Doto continental shelf relative to the continental slope area. These results suggest that winter feeding opportunities on the shelf are severely limited but not completely absent. Previous studies have shown that winter temperatures on the shelf are lower than those in the slope area. It is possible that juvenile T. chalcogramma survive winter on the shelf without a high level of pre-winter lipid storage because the occasional feeding in the cold shelf water benefits energy conservation.  相似文献

The effect of long-term (77 day) exposure of carp Cyprinus carpio to low concentrations of waterborne iron (1 mg Fe-dextran l−1) on accumulation and cellular distribution of iron in the liver was assessed using Perl's staining and histological observations and morphometric measurements. Accumulation of iron in the liver occurred after 14 days of exposure, when the majority of the iron was found in the sinusoidal endothelium with lower amounts in the cytoplasm and nuclei of hepatocytes. Upon further treatment the iron was predominantly distributed in the cytoplasm of the hepatocytes either as granules or diffusive iron and in macrophages.  相似文献

Summary Aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylase (AHH) and tyrosine aminotransferase (TAT) activities were determined in rat liver cell lines after frozen storage, long-term culture, and transformation in vitro. Levels of AHH activity after 17 months in frozen storage were comparable to levels prior to freezing. During long-term culture the AHH levels of the cell lines tended to decrease. Transformed lines had variable levels of AHH activity. Cell lines retained measurable TAT activity following long-term culture and frozen storage. TAT activity of transformed cells was comparable to that of normal lines. Prolonged frozen storage did not induce transformation up to one year.  相似文献

1. D(-)-beta-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase specific activity of rat liver mitochondria changes during ontogenesis: at birth, the activity is low, then increases to a maximum at 12 days, decreases until 50 days to keep constant thereafter. At the same time, mitochondrial protein amount increases regularly while succinatecytochrome c reductase specific activity slightly increases after birth to keep constant afterwards. 2. The observed changes in activity of D(-)-beta-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase are not related to possible interactions between the enzyme and phospholids since addition of lecithin to mitochondria does not change the activity. 3. Electrophoresis of mitochondrial proteins isolated from rats at different development stages demonstrates the presence of a protein band characterized by the same electrophoretic mobility as beta-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase and by significative changes of its proportion during maturation: the relative amount of this protein increases from the new-born to the 10-12 days old rat, to decrease afterwards. 4. These findings may signify that the increased activity of the enzyme with a maximum at 10-12 days followed by a decrease is related to the rate of the enzymes biosynthesis.  相似文献

Dexamethasone in the medium perfusin isolated rabbit livers caused a fast-acting and reversible effect on liver pyruvate kinase. The effect was to lower th assayable V activity (units/g tissue) without changing the concentration (nmol/g enzyme protein). In effect, glucocorticoid lowered the specific activity (units/nmol of enzyme) by direct action on liver. The effect on liver pyruvate kinase is mediated by a relatively stable alteration; 30 min after perfusate (with steroid) was replaced by perfusate (without steroid), the effect remained strongly evident.  相似文献

The male blowfly, Phormia regina Meigen shows preference among a variety of natural and artificial foods. In a laboratory study preference was observed among sweet and fermenting juices as well as between liver and fish. The preferences between fresh and fermenting juices were based not only on component sugars, but also on other components, namely, amino acids, alcohol salts and presumably other chemical compounds. The preference between decaying liver and fish was probably based partly on the composition and concentration of amino acids in these foods. A variety of amino acids were found in foods and some of these amino acids were shown to be excitatory, some inhibitory and others neutral. Salts were also observed to be present in the juices; and in a laboratory study NaCl at lower concentrations acted synergestically with 0.1 M sucrose and at higher concentrations repulsive. It is suggested that feeding preference is based on several chemicals which behave either in an excitatory, additive, neutral, inhibitory or synergistic manner. The ratio of excitants to inhibitants is important in deciding the direction of preference.
Résumé P. regina Meigen mâle préfere certains aliments naturels ou artificiels. Au laboratoire ses préférences parmi les jus sucrés sont les suivantes: orange > miel > pomme > sucrose 0.1 M; et parmi les aliments en décomposition: sucrose 0.1 M > foie > poisson. Les jus frais sont préférés aux jus fermentés. Les préférences ne dépendent pas seulement de la nature des sucres, mais aussi des acides aminés, de l'alcool, des sels et probablement d'autres substances chimiques. Le foie contient à la fois le plus grand nombre et la concentration la plus élevée en acides aminés, ce qui explique partiellement le goût pour le foie. Expérimentalement on peut classer les acides aminés en stimulants, inhibiteurs et neutres. Des sels ont été notés dans les jus, mais aucune analyse qualitative et quantitative n'en a été faite. Mélangé à du sucrose à 0.1 M, NaCl agit en synergie aux faibles concentrations, devient neutre à 0.175 M et à des concentrations supérieures le sucrose seul est préféré au mélange avec NaCl. Cependant, un mélange de NaCl à 0.25 M (bien qu'une telle concentration soit peu probable dans des jus végétaux) avec du sucrose à 0.1 M était préféré à l'eau. Il en est déduit que les préférences alimentaires. dans la nature sont orientées par plusieurs substances chimiques qui se comportent d'une façon stimulante, additive, neutre, inhibitrice ou synergique, et que les préférences alimentaires sont relatives. Le rapport de stimulants sur inhibiteurs est important dans la détermination du sens de la préférence.

非酒精性脂肪性肝病大鼠肝组织瘦素受体表达的变化   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
目的检测高脂饮食诱发的非酒精性脂肪性肝病(non-alcoholic fatty liver disease,NAFLD)大鼠肝组织瘦素受体的表达,探讨NAFLD瘦素抵抗的发生机制及瘦素抵抗在NAFLD发病中的作用.方法采用高脂饮食制备Wistar大鼠NAFLD模型;ELISA法测定大鼠血清瘦素(leptin,LP)浓度;全自动生化分析仪测血清甘油三酯(triglyceride,TG)、空腹血糖(fasting blood glucose,FBG),比色法测游离脂肪酸(free fatty acid,FFA),放射免疫法测空腹血清胰岛素(fasting insulin,FINS),计算空腹状态下胰岛素抵抗指数;对肝组织分别进行HE染色、苏丹Ⅳ染色、瘦素受体免疫组化染色,并进行半定量分析.利用SAS 8.0统计软件处理实验数据.结果模型组大鼠肝组织瘦素受体表达比正常组明显减弱,且与血清瘦素浓度、游离脂肪酸、胰岛素敏感指数、肝细胞脂变、炎症活动度显著负相关,相关系数分别为r = -0.83,-0.71, -0.65,-0.83, -0.87.多元线性回归分析显示,瘦素受体表达减弱是肝脂变的独立影响因素.结论肝组织瘦素受体表达减弱是NAFLD瘦素抵抗的重要病理机制之一,瘦素抵抗与胰岛素抵抗相互作用,共同促进了脂肪肝的发生发展.  相似文献
