The purpose of this study was to determine if the differences in anaerobic power between males and females could be accounted for by differences in body composition, strength, and neuromuscular function. A total of 82 untrained men and 99 women took part in the study. Body composition, somatotype, isometric strength, neuromuscular function were measured, and four anaerobic power tests performed. The men were significantly different from the women on all strength, power, and neuromuscular measurements except reaction time and on all anthropometric and somatotype dimensions except ectomorphy. Strength and anthropometric dimensions were similarly related to anaerobic power values within each sex. Relative fat (%fat) exerted different degrees of influence on sprint and jump performances in each sex. Removing the influence of anthropometric, strength, and neuromuscular differences by analysis of covariance reduced, but did not remove, the significant differences between the sexes. Therefore, factors other than lean body mass, leg strength, and neuromuscular function may be operating in short-term, explosive power performances to account for the differences between the sexes. The task-specific nature of anaerobic power tests and the relatively large influence of anthropometric factors on power production were confirmed. 相似文献

Tractability, or how easily animals can be trained and controlled, is an important behavioural trait for the management and training of domestic animals, but its genetic basis remains unclear. Polymorphisms in the serotonin receptor 1A gene (HTR1A) have been associated with individual variability in anxiety‐related traits in several species. In this study, we examined the association between HTR1A polymorphisms and tractability in Thoroughbred horses. We assessed the tractability of 167 one‐year‐old horses reared at a training centre for racehorses using a questionnaire consisting of 17 items. A principal components analysis of answers contracted the data to five principal component (PC) scores. We genotyped two non‐synonymous single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the horse HTR1A coding region. We found that one of the two SNPs, c.709G>A, which causes an amino acid change at the intracellular region of the receptor, was significantly associated with scores of four of five PCs in fillies (all Ps < 0.05) and one PC in colts (P < 0.01). Horses carrying an A allele at c.709G>A showed lower tractability. This result provides the first evidence that a polymorphism in a serotonin‐related gene may affect tractability in horses with the effect partially different depending on sex. 相似文献

The group III metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype 7 (mGlu7) is an important regulator of glutamatergic and GABAergic neurotransmission and known to mediate emotionality and male social behavior. However, a possible regulatory role in maternal behavior remains unknown to date. Adequate expression of maternal behavior is essential for successful rearing and healthy development of the young. By understanding genetic and neural mechanisms underlying this important prosocial behavior, we gain valuable insights into possible dysregulations. Using genetic ablation as well as pharmacological modulation, we studied various parameters of maternal behavior in two different mouse strains under the influence of mGlu7. We can clearly show a regulatory role of mGlu7 in maternal behavior. Naïve virgin female C57BL/6 mGlu7 knockout mice showed more often nursing postures and less spontaneous maternal aggression compared to their heterozygous and wildtype littermates. In lactating C57BL/6 wildtype mice, acute central activation of mGlu7 by the selective agonist AMN082 reduced arched back nursing and accelerated pup retrieval without affecting maternal aggression. In addition, in lactating CD1 wildtype mice the selective mGlu7 antagonist XAP044 increased both pup retrieval and maternal aggression. With respect to receptor expression levels, mGlu7 mRNA expression was higher in lactating vs virgin C57BL/6 mice in the prefrontal cortex, but not hypothalamus or hippocampus. In conclusion, these findings highlight a significant role of the mGlu7 receptor subtype in mediating maternal behavior in mice. Region‐dependent studies are warranted to further extend our knowledge on the specific function of the brain glutamate system in maternal behavior. 相似文献

Domestication is a condition in which the breeding, care and feeding of animals are, at least in part, controlled by humans. Information regarding the changes in the protein composition of eggs in response to domestication is very limited. Such data are prerequisite for improvements in the reproduction of domesticated fish. The aim of this study was to examine the impact of domestication on the proteome of pikeperch eggs using two-dimensional differential in-gel electrophoresis. We analysed high-quality eggs from domesticated and wild pikeperch fish to reveal proteins that were presumably only related to the domestication process and not to the quality of eggs. Here, we show that domestication has a profound impact on the protein profile of pikeperch eggs. We identified 66 differentially abundant protein spots, including 27 spots that were more abundant in wild-caught pikeperch eggs and 39 spots that were enriched in eggs collected from domesticated females. Eggs originating from wild-caught females showed higher expression levels of proteins involved in folding, apoptotic process, purine metabolism and immune response, whereas eggs of domesticated females showed higher expression levels of proteins that participated mainly in metabolism. The changes in metabolic proteins in eggs from domesticated females can reflect the adaptation of pikeperch to commercial diets, which have profoundly distinct compositions compared with natural diets. The decrease in the abundance of proteins related to immune response in eggs from the domesticated population suggests that domestication may lead to disturbances in defence mechanisms. In turn, the lower abundance of heat shock proteins in eggs of domesticated fish may indicate their adaptation to stable farming conditions and reduced environmental stressors or their better tolerance of stress from breeding. The proteins identified in this study can increase our knowledge concerning the mechanism of the pikeperch domestication process. 相似文献

factors was conducted. Results: The patients with normal tension glaucoma
(NTG) and open-angle glaucoma (OAG) have higher TLCPD and lower ICP than
healthy subjects, with obvious heterogeneity. The greater heterogeneity may arise
from different ICP measurements and from different countries or regions. FPR
performs better than TLCPD in some ways. Conclusion: Both FPR and TLCPD
can be used as indicators of NTG and OAG, and FPR is more effective than

从农业资源与环境、农业生产与经济、农业人口与社会3个评价维度构建了区域农业可持续发展指标体系, 运用主成分分析法、熵值法、模糊Borda法、因子分析法及聚类分析法和GIS技术, 通过组合评价方法定量研究湖南省农业可持续发展区域分异现状。结果表明: 湖南省农业可持续发展在区域上总体呈现出不平衡的发展状态, 农业可持续发展综合水平以长株潭城市群为核心, 由东至西递减; 农业人口与社会可持续发展水平南北低中部高, 东部强西部弱; 农业生产与经济可持续发展水平围绕湘北洞庭湖农业区和湘南农业综合区向外围递减; 农业资源与环境可持续发展水平表现为一横两纵优势带和南北两个落后圈。 相似文献

为探究谷胱甘肽和没食子酸对紫淮山花色苷的辅色作用,本文研究了谷胱甘肽和没食子酸对紫淮山花色苷降解率、热稳定性及色差的影响。试验表明,谷胱甘肽和没食子酸能有效抑制花色苷的降解,且最佳添加量分别为0.03%和0.2%。在此添加量条件下,紫淮山花色苷在50、70、90℃水浴中的热降解均符合一级降解反应动力学规律。添加谷胱甘肽和没食子酸的紫淮山花色苷降解速率常数(k)小于对照组,半衰期(t 1/2)和活化能(Ea)高于对照组,说明谷胱甘肽和没食子酸能够增强花色苷的热稳定性。色差测定结果表明,经谷胱甘肽和没食子酸辅色后的紫淮山花色苷,其明度指数(L*)和色品指数(a*、b*)较对照组变化缓慢,颜色的稳定性增强。 相似文献

生境质量是影响地区生态系统服务价值和保护地球生态系统中生物多样性的重要因素。以地处三大自然区交汇带的甘肃省为研究对象,在定量估算地区2000—2018年生境质量水平基础上,基于图谱变化分析理论和InVEST模型,探索地区生境质量时空分异格局及其图谱转移状态和变化强度。结果表明: 2000—2018年,甘肃省生境质量总体维持中等水平并略有提升,在空间上自北向南呈逐级递增的阶梯式变化特征,在数量上则高低并存;从图谱转移视角分析,甘肃省生境质量格局较为稳定,未发生状态转移的图谱单元占主导,而在发生了生境质量状态转移的图谱单元中,“较高较低”、“较高高”、“较高低”这6类状态间的互换转移最显著,空间分布也较为集聚; “北剧南和”是甘肃省生境质量变化强度的主要格局,自北向南依次为“强变区”、“复合区”、“温缓区”和“平和区”4类变化强度区。 相似文献

南北疆区域经济差异化三维生态足迹自然资本利用的时空演变 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
如何刻画自然资源消费在区域间的流转机制及其对生态的影响,是测度区域可持续发展的难点。采用改进后的三维生态足迹模型并引入存量流量利用比和资本流量占用率,对2003—2018年新疆区域三维生态足迹进行核算,并分别测度新疆各地州市自然资本利用的程度,聚焦南北疆地区自然资本利用的差异性,利用偏最小二乘法(PLS)找出影响生态足迹变化的动因,最后结合基尼系数及差异系数量化南北疆经济差异程度,从自然和经济视角探究南北疆可持续发展态势与差异。结果表明:①2003—2018年新疆人均生态足迹持续增长,增长幅度为119.94%,人均生态承载力基本保持在1.7 hm~2左右,流量资本占用强度不断增加,生态赤字问题愈发严重。②研究期内,南北疆地区生态足迹的增长幅度和速度存在明显空间差异,呈现"北高快,南低慢"的态势。各地州市生态赤字情况呈现不同程度的增长趋势,高值区为北疆的克拉玛依市及天山北坡经济带。③第一产业增加值对生态足迹正向驱动作用最为显著,第三产业增加值对生态足迹起到逆向驱动作用。④2003—2018年间,南北疆地区基尼系数维持在0.4—0.5之间,处于中警警度水平,南北疆区域经济差异系数变化波动不大,北疆区域经济差异系数明显高于南疆区域。 相似文献
