精确调控成花转换, 确保植物在适宜环境下开花, 对于植物的成功繁殖和物种繁衍至关重要。开花由多种分子机制在转录、转录后和蛋白质水平进行调控。可变剪切(AS)是一种普遍的转录后水平调控过程, 可从单个基因产生多个转录本, 从而丰富转录组和蛋白质组的多样性。大量研究表明, 可变剪切在成花转换过程中发挥重要作用。根据发育和环境条件, AS能够影响mRNA的稳定性和/或蛋白亚型的功能, 从而调控开花相关基因的功能转录本和/或功能蛋白水平。揭示成花相关pre-mRNA的AS作用将进一步增进人们对开花相关基因功能以及整个成花转换调控网络的认识。该文归纳了涉及成花转换的AS研究进展, 并针对各个调控途径进行总结, 以期为进一步研究植物AS和成花转换调控机制提供参考。 相似文献

Nectar resorption and sugar translocation were studied in Cucurbita pepo (Cucurbitaceae) and Platanthera chlorantha (Orchidaceae) by micro-autoradiography. In both species, nectar was resorbed in pollinated and unpollinated flowers and ovules developing into seeds were found to be the main sugar sink. In C. pepo, the mobility of resorbed sugars in pollinated female flowers was higher than in unpollinated ones; male flowers showed lower mobility of resorbed sugar. In P. chlorantha, radioactivity was detected in pollinated flowers below and above labelled unpollinated ones: the nearer the flower, the stronger the accumulation of label in developing fruits. 相似文献

Here we document phenotypic differences between serpentine and nonserpentine ecotypes of Collinsia sparsiflora, as well as patterns of selection in these contrasting soil habitats. We transplanted the two parental ecotypes and experimental F2 hybrids into six field sites, and collected morphological, phenological and fitness data on emergent plants. To focus on edaphically mediated selection, rather than on pollinator-mediated selection, we used pollinator-exclusion cages. Transplanted parentals of the two ecotypes showed genetic differentiation for floral traits, but not for phenological traits or cotyledon size. For the F2 hybrids growing on serpentine soils, there was significant directional selection on cotyledon size, flower size and flower shape. However, the pattern of selection did not differ significantly between serpentine and nonserpentine sites. Overall, we did not see evidence for divergent selection on the two soil types. We conclude that differences in floral traits between the ecotypes do not reflect adaptation to physical conditions associated with soil type, and that there are unmeasured traits that must be contributing to ecotypic differentiation. 相似文献

Here, a new approach for quantifying rotational symmetry based on vector analysis was described and compared with information obtained from a geometric morphometric analysis and a technique based on distance alone. A new method was developed that generates a polygon from the length and angle data of a structure and then quantifies the minimum change necessary to convert that polygon into a regular polygon. This technique yielded an asymmetry score (s) that can range from 0 (perfect symmetry) to 1 (complete asymmetry). Using digital images of Geranium robertianum flowers, this new method was compared with a technique based on lengths alone and with established geometric morphometric methods used to quantify shape variation. Asymmetry scores (s) more clearly described variation in symmetry and were more consistent with a visual assessment of the images than either comparative technique. This procedure is the first to quantify the asymmetry of radial structures accurately, uses easily obtainable measures to calculate the asymmetry score and allows comparisons among individuals and species, even when the comparisons involve structures with different patterns of symmetry. This technique enables the rigorous analysis of polysymmetric structures and provides a foundation for a better understanding of symmetry in nature. 相似文献

Protective floral structures may evolve in response to the negative effects of floral herbivores. For example, water calyces--liquid-filled, cup-like structures resulting from the fusion of sepals--may reduce floral herbivory by submerging buds during their development. Our observations of a water-calyx plant, Chrysothemis friedrichsthaliana (Gesneriaceae), revealed that buds were frequently attacked by ovipositing moths (Alucitidae), whose larvae consumed anthers and stigmas before corollas opened. Almost 25% of per-plant flower production was destroyed by alucitid larvae over two seasons, far exceeding the losses to all other floral herbivores combined. Experimental manipulation of water levels in calyces showed that a liquid barrier over buds halved per-flower alucitid egg deposition and subsequent herbivory, relative to buds in calyces without water. Thus, C. friedrichsthaliana's water calyx helps protect buds from a highly detrimental floral herbivore. Our findings support claims that sepal morphology is largely influenced by selection to reduce floral herbivory, and that these pressures can result in novel morphological adaptations. 相似文献

- Orchids are a classic angiosperm model for understanding biotic pollination. We studied orchid species within two species‐rich herbaceous communities that are known to have either hymenopteran or dipteran insects as the dominant pollinators, in order to understand how flower colour relates to pollinator visual systems.
- We analysed features of the floral reflectance spectra that are significant to pollinator visual systems and used models of dipteran and hymenopteran colour vision to characterise the chromatic signals used by fly‐pollinated and bee‐pollinated orchid species.
- In contrast to bee‐pollinated flowers, fly‐pollinated flowers had distinctive points of rapid reflectance change at long wavelengths and a complete absence of such spectral features at short wavelengths. Fly‐pollinated flowers also had significantly more restricted loci than bee‐pollinated flowers in colour space models of fly and bee vision alike.
- Globally, bee‐pollinated flowers are known to have distinctive, consistent colour signals. Our findings of different signals for fly pollination is consistent with pollinator‐mediated selection on orchid species that results from the distinctive features of fly visual systems.

- Phenotypic intermediacy is an indicator of putative hybrid origin and has provided the main clues to discovering hybrid plants in nature. Mandevilla pentlandiana and M. laxa (Apocynaceae) are sister species with clear differences in floral phenotype and associated pollinator guilds: diurnal Hymenoptera and nocturnal hawkmoths, respectively. The presence of individuals with intermediate phenotypes in a wild population raises questions about the roles of visual and olfactory signals (i.e. corolla morphology and floral fragrances) as barriers to interbreeding, and how the breakdown of floral isolation occurs.
- We examined phenotypic variation in a mixed Mandevilla population, analysing the chemical composition of floral fragrances, characterising floral shape through geometric morphometrics and assessing individual grouping through taxonomically relevant traits and an unsupervised learning algorithm. We quantified the visitation frequencies of floral visitors and tracked their foraging movements using pollen analogues.
- The presence of morphologically intermediate individuals and pollen analogue movement suggested extensive hybridisation between M. laxa and M. pentlandiana, along with asymmetrical rates of backcrossing between these putative hybrids and M. laxa. Floral volatiles from putative hybrid individuals showed a transgressive phenotype, with additional compounds not emitted by either parental species.
- Our results suggest the presence of a hybrid swarm between sympatric M. pentlandiana and M. laxa and indicate that initial hybridisation events between these parental species are rare, but once they occur, visits between putative hybrids and M. laxa are common and facilitate continued introgression.

In this study, a colorimetric method was developed for rapid and sensitive determination of gallic acid (GA) by using floral‐like magnetic Fe3O4@MnO2 composite material with enhanced oxidase‐like activity. Fe3O4@MnO2 composite material is able to oxidize 3,3′,5,5′‐tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) to a blue product (oxTMB) with apparent color change and absorbance at 652 nm. GA can reduce the oxTMB yielding a fading blue color. Based on these results, a technique is proposed to detect GA quantitatively and qualitatively with UV–vis spectroscopy and bare eyes. A low detection limit of 0.105 μM and a detection range of 0.01 to 15 μM were obtained with UV–vis spectroscopy. This methodology possesses high potential for application in determination of GA. 相似文献
