对原产湖北五峰的红花玉兰新变种多瓣红花玉兰（Magnolia wufengensis var. multitepala L.Y.Ma et L.R.Wang）作了描述。新变种与红花玉兰原变种(M. wufengensis var. wufengensis)花色相近,整个花被片内外均为红色,内面略淡。主要区别在于：新变种花被片12、15、18、24;花被片阔倒卵状匙形、倒卵状匙形或窄倒卵状匙形;花色浓淡不同植株间有深红、红、浅红之差别;自然状态下可育,蓇葖果发育良好。

Anemone fulingensis W. T. Wang & Z. Y. Liu, a new species of the Ranunculaceae discovered from Fuling, Chongqing, China, is described and illustracted. In having sessile involucre bracts, 4-5-sepalled flowers, filiform filaments, and pantocolpate pollen it should be a member of Anemone sect. Stolonifera (Ulbr.) Juz., and from all other species of that section differs in its peculiar moniliform rhizome consisting of 2-10 tubers. In view of the fact that in Anemone the tubers are present in certain different evolutionary lines, and their appearance is a secondary phenomenon, this new species should be considered advanced in sect. Solid phase synthesis of tariquidar-related modulators of ABC transporters preferring breast cancer resistance protein (ABCG2)

Aiming at structural optimization of potent and selective ABCG2 inhibitors, such as UR-ME22-1, from our laboratory, an efficient solid phase synthesis was developed to get convenient access to this class of compounds. 7-Carboxyisatoic anhydride was attached to Wang resin to give resin bound 2-aminoterephthalic acid. Acylation with quinoline-2- or -6-carbonyl chlorides, coupling with tetrahydroisoquinolinylethylphenylamine derivatives, cleavage of the carboxylic acids from solid support and treatment with trimethylsilydiazomethane gave the corresponding methyl esters. Among these esters highly potent and selective ABCG2 modulators were identified (inhibition of ABCB1 and ABCG2 determined in the calcein-AM and the Hoechst 33342 microplate assay, respectively). Interestingly, compounds bearing triethyleneglycol ether groups at the tetrahydroisoquinoline moiety (UR-COP77, UR-COP78) were comparable to UR-ME22-1 in potency but considerably more efficient (max inhibition 83% and 88% vs 60%, rel. to fumitremorgin c, 100%) These results support the hypothesis that solubility of the new ABCG2 modulators and of the reference compounds tariquidar and elacridar in aqueous media is the efficacy-limiting factor.     

Plasmonic-based platforms for diagnosis of infectious diseases at the point-of-care

Infectious diseases such as HIV-1/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB), hepatitis B (HBV), and malaria still exert a tremendous health burden on the developing world, requiring rapid, simple and inexpensive diagnostics for on-site diagnosis and treatment monitoring. However, traditional diagnostic methods such as nucleic acid tests (NATs) and enzyme linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) cannot be readily implemented in point-of-care (POC) settings. Recently, plasmonic-based biosensors have emerged, offering an attractive solution to manage infectious diseases in the developing world since they can achieve rapid, real-time and label-free detection of various pathogenic biomarkers. Via the principle of plasmonic-based optical detection, a variety of biosensing technologies such as surface plasmon resonance (SPR), localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR), colorimetric plasmonic assays, and surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) have emerged for early diagnosis of HIV-1, TB, HBV and malaria. Similarly, plasmonic-based colorimetric assays have also been developed with the capability of multiplexing and cellphone integration, which is well suited for POC testing in the developing world. Herein, we present a comprehensive review on recent advances in surface chemistry, substrate fabrication, and microfluidic integration for the development of plasmonic-based biosensors, aiming at rapid management of infectious diseases at the POC, and thus improving global health.     

BiHC,a T-Cell–Engaging Bispecific Recombinant Antibody,Has Potent Cytotoxic Activity Against Her2 Tumor Cells

Among different cancer immunotherapy approaches, bispecific antibodies (BsAbs) are of great interest due to their ability to recruit immune cells to kill tumor cells directly. Various BsAbs against Her2 tumor cells have been proposed with potent cytotoxic activities. However, most of these formats require extensive processing to obtain heterodimeric bispecific antibodies. In this study, we describe a bispecific antibody, BiHC (bispecific Her2-CD3 antibody), constructed with a single-domain anti-Her2 and a single-chain Fv (variable fragment) of anti-CD3 in an IgG-like format. In contrast to most IgG-like BsAbs, the two arms in BiHC have different molecular weights, making it easier to separate hetero- or homodimers. BiHC can be expressed in Escherichia coli and purified via Protein A affinity chromatography. The purified BiHC can recruit T cells and induce specific cytotoxicity of Her2-expressing tumor cells in vitro. The BiHC can also efficiently inhibit the tumor growth in vivo. Thus, BiHC is a promising candidate for the treatment of Her2-positive cancers.     

卧龙乌头的名实问题

发现卧龙乌头Aconitum wolongense W．T. Wang的模式实际上包含两种植物,即毛果甘青乌头A． tanguticum (Maxim．)Stapf．var．trichocarpum Hand.-Mazz．和展毛大渡乌头A．franchetii Fin.et Gagnep．var．villosum W．T. Wang,故将该种予以归并。

蔓赤车的一个新异名

根据对产自湖南的蔓赤车Pelliona scabra Benth．标本的研究,结合在头序赤车P．cephaloidea W． t. Wang模式产地湖南南岳衡山的野外调查,发现头序赤车的模式标本是采自幼雌花序时期的蔓赤车,故将头序赤车作为蔓赤车的新异名,头序赤车组作为赤车组的新异名。
