For the first time dioecy inMikania and in the tribeEupatorieae is described and discussed. The condition is known only in members of theMikania swartziana Griseb. complex, a group of eight species, all endemic to the Greater Antillean Islands of Cuba, Hispaniola, and Jamaica.  相似文献

Selecting native species for restoration is often done without proper ecological background, particularly with regard to how native and invasive species interact. Here, we provide insights suggesting that such information may greatly enhance restoration success. The performance of the native vine, Pueraria lobata, and that of the invasive bitter vine, Mikania micrantha, were investigated in South China to test how priority effects (timing and rate of germination and seedling growth) and competition (phytochemical effects and competitive ability) impact invasive plant performance. We found that, in the absence of competition, the germination rate of M. micrantha, but not of P. lobata, was significantly affected by light availability. P. lobata seedlings also performed better than those of M. micrantha during early growth phases. Under competition, negative phytochemical effects of P. lobata on M. micrantha were strong and we found M. micrantha to have lower performance when grown with P. lobata compared to when grown by itself. Relative interaction indexes indicated that, under interspecific competition, P. lobata negatively affected (i.e., inhibited) M. micrantha, whereas M. micrantha positively affected (i.e., facilitated) P. lobata. Higher photosynthetic efficiency and soil nutrient utilization put P. lobata at a further advantage over M. micrantha. Field trails corroborated these experimental findings, showing little recruitment of M. micrantha in previously invaded and cleared field plots that were sown with P. lobata. Thus, P. lobata is a promising candidate for ecological restoration and for reducing impacts of M. micrantha in China. This research illustrates that careful species selection may improve restoration outcomes, a finding that may also apply to other invaded ecosystems and species.  相似文献

The study is based on four leaf parameters: leaf width (LW), lobe length (LL), leaf size (LS) and leaf shape which is calculated as LW to leaf length (LW/LL) ratio. Under different environmental conditions, LL is an isometric character, LW shows positive allometry, whereas LW/LL shows negative allometry. Regression analysis results indicated that there is no significant difference either in slopes or in regression coefficients between investigated sites. Thus, in this study, we found that allometric relationships between leaf parameters and LS are character specific and that they tended not to differ significantly between Tilia cordata Mill. outer leaves exposed to different environmental conditions. Also, there are no significant interpopulation differences for both principal component PC1 and PC2 scores. The stepwise discriminant functional analysis results allowed us to identify a set of two leaf parameters (LS and LL) with a moderate discriminating ability (59.8%). T. cordata outer leaves are significantly larger and broader in the reference area (R-leaves) than leaves from polluted (P-leaves) site. The data also indicated that there is a relatively larger petiole size in R-leaves than in P-leaves. We found that in P-leaves, LW increased faster with increasing LS than in R-leaves.  相似文献

Coumarin ( 1 ) and kaurane‐type diterpenes are considered the bioactive constituents of Mikania glomerata and M. laevigata, used in Brazil to treat respiratory affective disorders. The seasonal variation of 1 , ortho‐coumaric acid ( 2 ), benzoylgrandifloric acid ( 3 ), cinnamoylgrandifloric acid ( 4 ), and kaurenoic acid ( 5 ) in leaves of both species, cultivated in full sunlight and under shade levels of 40 and 80%, was quantified by HPLC. Compound 2 was detected solely in M. laevigata in concentrations below the limit of quantification. Coumarin was not found in M. glomerata, whereas its concentration reached 0.94±0.24% (w/w) in M. laevigata farmed in summer under 80% shading. Both Mikania species produced higher amounts of kaurane diterpenes when cultivated in plenty of sunlight. Hence, maximum contents of 1 are reached in M. laevigata cultivated under high shading, but with reduced concentrations of 3 – 5 . Conversely, M. glomerata should be cultivated under full sunlight and harvested in winter for highest concentrations of kaurane‐type diterpenes.  相似文献

Houttuynia cordata (HC) has been commonly used as many traditional remedies in local areas of Japan. Although many pharmacological activities of HC have been reported, the mechanism underlying the effect of HC remains unknown. We conducted the interview survey in Japan to verify how HC was actually used. The interview survey revealed that HC poultice (HCP) prepared from smothering fresh leaves of HC was most frequently used for the treatment of purulent skin diseases including furuncle and carbuncle with high effectiveness. Ethanol extract of HCP (eHCP) showed anti-bacterial effects against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and showed an anti-biofilm activity against MRSA. eHCP showed dose-dependent inhibition of S. aureus lipoteichoic acid (LTA)-induced interleukin-8 and CCL20 production in human keratinocyte without any cytotoxicity. These results suggest that HCP is effective for skin abscess and its underlying mechanism might be the complicated multiple activities for both bacteria and host cells.  相似文献

Adventitious roots of marsh-grown Pontederia cordata were examined to determine cortical development and structure. The innermost layer of the ground meristem forms the endodermis and aerenchymatous cortex. The outermost layer of the early ground meristem undergoes a precise pattern of oblique and periclinal cell divisions to produce a single or double layer of prohypodermis with an anchor cell for each radial file of aerenchyma cells. At maturity, endodermal cell walls are modified only by narrow Casparian bands. The central regions of the ground meristem become proaerenchyma and exhibit asymmetric cell division and expansion. They produce an aerenchymatous zone with barrel-shaped large cells and irregularly shaped small cells traversing the aerenchyma horizontally along radii; some crystalliferous cells with raphides are present in the aerenchyma. The walls of the hypodermis are modified early by polyphenols. The outermost layer of the hypodermis later matures into an exodermis with Casparian bands that are impermeable to berberine, an apoplastic tracer dye. The nonexodermal layer(s) of the hypodermis has suberin-modified walls. Radial files of aerenchyma are usually connected by narrow protuberances near their midpoints, the aerenchyma lacunae having been produced by expansion of cells along walls lining intercellular spaces. We are terming this type of aerenchyma development, which is neither schizogenous nor lysigenous, "differential expansion."  相似文献

 Foliar inclination angles, petiole morphology and dry matter partitioning between assimilative and support biomass were studied in shade-intolerant Populus tremula L. and shade-tolerant Tilia cordata Mill. along a natural light gradient across the canopy. The leaves of sub-canopy species T. cordata were on average exposed to lower irradiances, and they were also more horizontal with greater blade inclination angles (ϕB, defined as the angle between the leaf fall-line and the horizon; ϕB was positive for the leaves inclined upwards, and negative for the leaves inclined downwards) than those in P. tremula. Seasonal average daily integrated quantum flux density (Q int, mol m–2 day–1) and ϕB were not related in T. cordata, and only a weak negative effect of Q int on ϕB was detected in P. tremula. Nevertheless, when both species were pooled, there was a strong negative relationship between Q int and ϕB, implying that the leaves became progressively vertical with increasing height in the canopy. Interspecific differences in foliage inclination were mainly related to petiole morphology, in particular to petiole length, rather than to contrasting biomass investment patterns between assimilative and support tissues within the leaf. It was suggested that more horizontal leaves, resulting from the species-specific structure of petioles, partly explain the superior performance of shade-tolerant T. cordata in the understory and the sub-canopy. 【背景】薇甘菊为危险性入侵植物;同时椰子坚蚜为椰子上的重要害虫,对其防治方面的研究较少。研究薇甘菊次生物质对椰子坚蚜的生物活性可为薇甘菊的综合利用及椰子坚蚜的防治提供参考。【方法】采用室内生物测定的方法研究了薇甘菊4种溶剂提取物对椰子坚蚜的胃毒和触杀活性。【结果】供试的4种提取物中,正丁醇提取物和丙酮提取物对椰子坚蚜的胃毒水平较高,LC50分别为12.93和12.48 mg·m L-1,显著高于环己烷提取物和石油醚提取物。而4种提取物对椰子坚蚜的触杀毒力差异不显著,环己烷提取物、正丁醇提取物、丙酮提取物和石油醚提取物对椰子坚蚜的LC50分别为15.28、12.28、11.40和16.62 mg·m L-1。【结论与意义】薇甘菊提取物在椰子坚蚜防控中具有一定的应用潜力。  相似文献

利用SSH和RACE相结合的方法获得了薇甘菊乙醇酸氧化酶基因cDNA全长,并对该序列进行了生物信息学分析。随后将该基因的cDNA编码区克隆到原核表达载体pET-32a(+)中,构建重组表达质粒,转化到大肠杆菌Rosetta-gami(DE3)中进行表达。序列分析表明,薇甘菊乙醇酸氧化酶基因cDNA全长1 363 bp,编码369个氨基酸,命名为MmGO(GenBank登录号EU716626),推测的MmGO分子量为40.32 kDa,等电点为8.99。系统进化分析表明,MmGO与芸苔的GO序列亲缘关系比较近。将该基因重组到pET-32a(+)中进行原核表达,经0.1 mmol·L-1 IPTG,25℃诱导4 h,获得了具有较高表达水平的融合蛋白6×His MmGO,Western-blot证实表达的6×His-MmGO能与抗6×His的单抗发生特异性反应,分子量约为60 kDa,与预测的融合蛋白6×His-MmGO分子量相符。为进一步研究融合蛋白6×His-MmGO的活性和功能奠定了基础。  相似文献

研究薇甘菊Mikania micrantha乙醇提取物对假眼小绿叶蝉Empoasca vitis自然种群的控制作用,并比较其与常用药剂0.3%印楝素EC1000倍液、10%吡·仲EC500倍液的控制效果,结果表明薇甘菊乙醇提取物4gDW/100mL、2gDW/100mL、1gDW/100mL和2个常用药剂的种群干扰作用控制指数均小于1,其中控制效果最佳的是薇甘菊4gDW/100mL,其干扰作用控制指数最低,仅为0.2392,其次为0.3%印楝素ECl000倍液,干扰作用控制指数为0.2787。田间调查结果表明,薇甘菊乙醇提取物3个不同浓度的处理以及0.3%印楝素EC1000倍液处理下的蜘蛛数量与对照相比显著不差异,而10%吡·仲EC500倍液处理下蜘蛛的数量明显少于其它处理。室内观察表明,薇甘菊4gDW/100mL处理后,田间优势天敌银斑蛛Argyrodessp.、旋转后丘蛛Dipoenura cyclosides的取食量与对照没有显著差异,说明薇甘菊乙醇提取物对假眼小绿叶蝉天敌较安全。  相似文献
