田鼠属的一些近缘种间具有独特的社会行为多态性。例如Microtusochrogaster和M .pinetorum为一夫一妻制 ,而M .montanus和M .pennsylvanicus则为独居和一夫多妻制。无论是在野外还是人工饲养的条件下 ,单配制的田鼠其雌、雄成年个体一经交配即在两者之间形成长期的配偶关系并且双亲共同哺育后代。已证明神经多肽加压素 (Vasopressin)参与了田鼠单配制行为的神经调控。本篇综述了过去以及近期关于加压素调控田鼠配偶关系形成的研究结果和进展。首先 ,阐述了加压素V1a受体 (V1aR)在脑分布的种间差异 ,并以此来鉴别特定脑区在配偶关系形成中的功能 ;其次 ,探讨了运用V1aR拮抗物的药理学方法来决定究竟哪些脑区参与配偶关系的形成 ,还描述了田鼠种间V1aR基因结构和功能的不同 ,以及这些不同对V1aR在大脑的分布和行为调控潜在的作用机制 ;最后 ,讨论了最新的研究结果 ,即对一夫多妻制田鼠进行脑V1aR基因的改造 ,从而使之表现出一夫一妻制田鼠的行为。总之 ,了解复杂的社会性行为的遗传和神经机制可以加深我们对种间和种内行为分歧进化的理解  相似文献

Insular occurrences of steppe vegetation are a common feature of the northern Mongolian mountain taiga. Steppe vegetation is limited here to southern slopes, whereas northern slopes and valley bottoms are principally wooded with light and dark taiga forests. In a case study in the valley of the river Eroo at Khonin Nuga Research Station in the western Khentey Mountains, we searched for evidence of an anthropogenic versus natural origin of steppe vegetation on the southern slopes. Pollen data of three profiles covering the last 2500 years showed continuous presence of steppe throughout the late Holocene with human influence restricted to the recent past. Virtual absence of charcoal in the soil on and beneath three steppe slopes suggested that the present steppe grasslands are not replacing former forests burnt by humans or lightning. The floodplains in the center of the Eroo valley were recently deforested. This is suggested by the pollen analysis and by interviews with local people on landuse history. Steppe grasslands of the study area have probably never been used as pastures. Pastoral nomads traditionally avoided the Eroo valley near Khonin Nuga because of difficult access and high densities of wolves and bears. All our data suggest that the present vegetation pattern of the western Khentey with steppes (and single small Ulmus pumila trees) on south-facing slopes occurring as islands in the mountain taiga is driven by climate and relief and is not the result of human activities as suggested for other regions of Asia.  相似文献

The larvae of blow fly (Trypocalliphora braueri) are known to cause a subcutaneous myiasis in bird nestlings mainly in Nearctic species, while only a few records are available from the Palaearctic. Here, we report on infestations of this insect ectoparasite in two passerine species, Meadow Pipit (Anthus pratensis) and Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica), breeding in the Central European mountain range Krkonoše. The infestation of T. braueri parasite was relatively low in studied bird species (3.0% of infested nests in Meadow Pipit and 4.2% in Bluethroat) but varied strongly between years (0–33% of infested nests/year/species). The presence of the parasitic blow fly larvae was apparently controlled by temperature; they were found only during warm summers. The combination of parasite infection and heavy rainfalls in a critical period significantly reduced nestling survival.  相似文献

Capsule Foraging sites with low vegetation height and density, but with high arthropod biomass, are selected.

Aims To test the hypothesis that on intensively grazed moorland, breeding Meadow Pipits forage for nestling food where arthropod prey are most readily available, and therefore that foraging site choice is a function of prey abundance and vegetation structure.

Methods Observations of adults provisioning nestlings were made from hides positioned close to 19 nests within grazed, 3.3-hectare experimental plots at Glen Finglas, Scotland. Vegetation height and density and arthropod abundance from mapped foraging sites were compared with control sites. Prey items fed to nestlings were quantified and compared with their relative abundance.

Results Meadow Pipits selected foraging sites with significantly lower vegetation height and density, but with significantly higher arthropod biomass. Our data suggest that within foraging sites, Meadow Pipits select particular prey types to provision nestlings, in particular, Lepidoptera larvae, adult Tipulidae and Arachnida.

Conclusions In intensively grazed upland systems, it appears that Meadow Pipits select foraging sites that optimize total food abundance and accessibility. In order to understand how anticipated changes to livestock farming in Europe will affect grassland birds, we recommend that future studies should investigate the foraging and vigilance behaviour, diet composition and breeding success of a variety of bird species provisioning nestlings under a range of livestock management scenarios.  相似文献

本研究分离鉴定了来自赣南脐橙基地橘小实蝇Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel)雌性和雄性成虫生殖系统中的可培养细菌.采用LB培养基分离纯化和菌株16S rRNA基因序列分析相结合的方法,从饲养10 d的橘小实蝇雌雄成虫生殖系统,获得15株具有不同表观特征的细菌,分属变形菌门Proteobacteria、拟杆菌门Bacteroidetes、放线菌门Actinobacteria和厚壁菌门Firmicutes.橘小实蝇雌雄成虫生殖系统共同拥有4个相同属,分别是不动杆菌属Acinetobacter、苍白杆菌属Ochrobactrum、金黄杆菌属Chryseobacterium和芽孢杆菌属Bacillus.雌性成虫特有无色杆菌属Achromobacter、剑菌属Ensifer、鞘脂杆菌属Sphingobacterium、微杆菌属Microbacterium和细球菌属Micrococcus;雄性成虫特有假单胞菌属Pseudomonas和拟杆菌属Bacteroides.其中,不动杆菌属菌株数量最多,分别占雌、雄成虫生殖系统菌株数量的35.00%和31.58%,为橘小实蝇生殖系统可培养的优势细菌属.橘小实蝇雌性和雄性成虫生殖系统的内生细菌存在差异,为研究橘小实蝇性别与内生细菌的协同进化提供信息,也为分析内生细菌在橘小实蝇生殖系统中的功能奠定基础.  相似文献

花绒寄甲Dastarcus helophoroides(Fairmaire)是松褐天牛Monochamus alternatus的有效寄生性天敌,为了解花绒寄甲在江西赣南苏区对松褐天牛种群数量的控制作用,开展了花绒寄甲在赣南松树林内自然分布、寄生率及松褐天牛种群情况的调查。结果表明,花绒寄甲在赣南松树林内分布广泛,对松褐天牛的自然寄生率为2.56%-22.41%,平均寄生率为11.74%,其中马尾松纯林的寄生率最高(14.81%),其次马尾松混交林(10.95%),湿地松纯林寄生率最低(2.56%),前两项差异不显著,后者与前两者均差异显著(P0.05);花绒寄甲的种群数量动态与其寄主松褐天牛的种群数量动态是一致的,呈正相关关系(R2=0.8399),花绒寄甲在野外主要以1-2头幼虫寄生1头松褐天牛幼虫的寄生方式营寄生生活(占79.10%)。因此在赣南松林中,花绒寄甲种群数量较低,必须大量补充人工繁育的寄甲,才能达到控制松褐天牛防治松材线虫病的目的。  相似文献

Proceptive behaviours are used by animals to indicate interest in opposite-sex conspecifics. These behaviours can be affected by an individual's nutritional status. Two mutually exclusive hypotheses have been proposed to account for the effects of food availability on reproduction. These are the metabolic fuels hypothesis and the reproduction at all costs hypothesis. It is not known if food availability affects proceptive behaviours such as scent marking, over-marking, and self-grooming. In this study, we tested the hypothesis that food-deprived and nonfood-deprived meadow voles, Microtus pennsylvanicus, differ in the number of scent marks they deposit, the proportion of over-marks they deposit, and the amount of time they spend self-grooming when they encounter the scent marks of opposite-sex conspecifics. We tested this hypothesis by exposing meadow voles that either had continuous access to food or were food-deprived for either 6hours or 24hours to the scent marks of an opposite-sex conspecific. Due to differences in the natural history of male and female meadow voles, we predicted that female voles' behaviour will best be explained by the metabolic fuels hypothesis whereas males' behaviour will best be explained by the reproduction at all costs hypothesis. We found that both male and female voles deprived of food for either 6hours or 24hours spent less time self-grooming compared to nonfood-deprived voles. However, food availability did not affect the scent marking and over-marking behaviour of male and female voles. Differences in the effects of food availability on these proceptive behaviours are discussed within the context of the natural history of meadow voles.  相似文献

Summary A spontaneous mutation arising in Festuca pratensis has the effect of stabilizing the pigmentproteolipid complexes of thylakoid membranes so that leaf tissue does not turn yellow during senescence. Inheritance of the non-yellowing character was analysed in crosses between the wild-type cultivar Rossa and a mutant line Bf 993. Electrophoretic variants of cytoplasmic phosphoglucoisomerase coded by alleles of the nuclear gene Pgi-2 were used to identify hybrids during intercrossing. About 96% of the F1 progeny were heterozygous and all were phenotypically yellowing. In the F2 generation yellow green segregated in a ratio of 2.141, not significantly different from 31. In the backcross between F1 and Bf 993 the ratio was 11 yellow green. There was no indication of linkage to Pgi-2. Senescence of detached Bf 993 and Rossa leaves was compared with that of the F1 hybrid. The hybrid behaved in an essentially identical fashion to the wildtype parent, and in marked contrast to the mutant, in all aspects of the senescence syndrome investigated, including loss of chlorophyll, carotenoids and the light-harvesting chlorophyll-protein of thylakoid membranes, and elevation of the particulate protein chlorophyll ratio in the terminal stages. It is concluded that there exists in Festuca pratensis a nuclear gene, designated Sid (senescence-induced degradation) which regulates turnover of hydrophobic components of photosynthetic membranes in ageing leaf tissue and which occurs in at least two allelic forms, y (yellow) dominant over g (green).Abbreviations PGI phosphoglucoisomerase - Pgi nuclear gene coding for PGI - TSH tris buffer containing 2-mercaptoethanol - SDS sodium dodecyl sulphate - Chl chlorophyll - LHCP light-harvesting chlorophyll a/b binding protein - ELISA enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay  相似文献

By employing complex and highly specialized immunochemical methods, several investigators have achieved purification of human α-fetoprotein (AFP) found in fetal serum and/or sera of patients with hepatoma. The present report describes a simpler method which results in the isolation of homogeneous preparation of AFP from human cord serum. AFP was purified by sequential use of Affi-Gel Blue affinity, DE-52 diethylaminoethyl cellulose ion-exchange, immunoadsorption with anti-albumin covalently coupled to Sepharose 4B, and Sephacryl S-200 molecular sieve chromatographic techniques. The homogeneity of the purified AFP was established by subjecting it to polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, analytical isoelectric focusing, molecular sieve chromatography and immunological techniques. The purified AFP has a molecular weight of approximately 68,000 as determined by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate and molecular sieve chromatography, and upon isoelectric focusing yielded a single band pI = 4.8. In addition, the purified AFP gives a single precipitin line when tested against rabbit antiserum to whole human hepatoma serum proteins, and no line(s) of precipitin when tested against rabbit antiserum to normal serum proteins.  相似文献

Many migratory bird species are undergoing population declines as a result of potentially multiple, interacting mechanisms. Understanding the environmental associations of spatial variation in population change can help tease out the likely mechanisms involved. Common Cuckoo Cuculus canorus populations have declined by 69% in England but increased by 33% in Scotland. The declines have mainly occurred in lowland agricultural landscapes, but their mechanisms are unknown. At both the local scale within the county of Devon (SE England) and at the national (UK) scale, we analysed the breeding season distribution of Cuckoos in relation to habitat variation, the abundance of host species and the abundance of moth species whose caterpillars are a key food of adult Cuckoos. At the local scale, we found that Cuckoos were more likely to be detected in areas with more semi‐natural habitat, more Meadow Pipits Anthus pratensis (but fewer Dunnocks Prunella modularis) and where, later in the summer, higher numbers of moths were captured whose larvae are Cuckoo prey. Nationally, Cuckoos have become more associated with upland heath characterized by the presence of Meadow Pipit hosts, and with wetland habitats occupied by Eurasian Reed Warbler Acrocephalus scirpaceus hosts. The core distribution of Cuckoos has shifted from south to north within the UK. By the end of 2009, the abundance of macro‐moth species identified as prey had also declined four times faster than that of species not known to be taken by Cuckoos. The abundance of these moths has shown the sharpest declines in grassland, arable and woodland habitats and has increased in semi‐natural habitats (heaths and rough grassland). Our study suggests that Cuckoos are likely to remain a very scarce bird in lowland agricultural landscapes without large‐scale changes in agricultural practices.  相似文献
