The three anthocyanins, delphinidin 3-O-beta-galactopyranoside-3',5'-di-O-beta-glucopyranoside (1), delphinidin 3-O-beta-galactopyranoside-3'-O-beta-glucopyranoside (2) and cyanidin 3-O-beta-galactopyranoside-3'-O-beta-glucopyranoside (3), and the 3-O-beta-galactopyranosides of delphinidin (4) and cyanidin (5) were isolated from the bluish white berries and compound umbel of Siberian dogwood, Cornus alba 'Sibirica'. The ornamental autumn leaves and the characteristic purplish red bark of this variety were found to contain only pigment 5.  相似文献

Diagnostic cardiac ultrasounds are an environment-friendly and non-ionising imaging technology. However, ultrasounds are not biologically inert, and their use might have profound clinical impact. This paper summarizes the known effects of cardiac ultrasound—compared to other major imaging techniques—to exposed patients and to clinically exposed physicians practising ultrasound imaging. Furthermore, this review also provides an overview of the evidences on the biological effects of diagnostic ultrasound—which suggest that ultrasound with frequency, intensity and duration fully in the diagnostic range have significant molecular, cellular and organ effects.

A better understanding of these effects may improve our understanding of the complex interactions between ultrasound and biological tissues and may open new avenues to therapeutic applications based on the ultrasound-modulated cell functions, such as membrane transduction, apoptosis, cell permeability and thrombolysis.  相似文献

This study examined four genes encoding for predicted membrane proteins selected from the genome sequences of Leptospira interrogans. Genes were cloned and the proteins expressed in E. coli. Immunoblotting analysis of the recombinants with sera from early and convalescent phases of a leptospirosis patient showed that two proteins, namely Lp29 and Lp49, were reactive with serum from both phases of the illness. These data were further confirmed in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay using sera from both phases of seventeen confirmed leptospirosis specimens, suggesting that these proteins are presented to the host immune system during infection. In the early phase, anti-Lp29 IgM was detected in all sera when microscopic agglutination tests (MAT), the reference method for diagnosis of leptospirosis, were negative. The gene encoding Lp49 is conserved among five tested leptospiral pathogenic serovars, while Lp29 is present in serovars that are predominant in urban settings. These recombinant antigens might be valuable for serodiagnosis of both phases of leptospirosis.  相似文献

Summary .  Bayesian experimental design for a clinical trial involves specifying a utility function that models the purpose of the trial, in this case the selection of patients for a diagnostic test. The best sample of patients is selected by maximizing expected utility. This optimization task poses difficulties due to a high-dimensional discrete design space and, also, to an expected utility formula of high complexity. A simulation-based optimal design method is feasible in this case. In addition, two deterministic algorithms that perform a systematic search over the design space are developed to address the computational issues.  相似文献

In the evaluation of diagnostic accuracy of tests, a gold standard on the disease status is required. However, in many complex diseases, it is impossible or unethical to obtain such a gold standard. If an imperfect standard is used, the estimated accuracy of the tests would be biased. This type of bias is called imperfect gold standard bias. In this article we develop a nonparametric maximum likelihood method for estimating ROC curves and their areas of ordinal-scale tests in the absence of a gold standard. Our simulation study shows that the proposed estimators for the ROC curve areas have good finite-sample properties in terms of bias and mean squared error. Further simulation studies show that our nonparametric approach is comparable to the binormal parametric method, and is easier to implement. Finally, we illustrate the application of the proposed method in a real clinical study on assessing the accuracy of seven specific pathologists in detecting carcinoma in situ of the uterine cervix.  相似文献

Every proposed vegetation classification is sooner or later confronted with an accumulation of new data, which has to be assigned to existing vegetation units. Calculation of similarity indices between new relevés (vegetation plots) and constancy columns of established vegetation units is a suitable method for computerised assignment of relevés to these units. This paper compares several similarity indices using simulated data set where either randomly distributed or diagnostic species prevail in the species composition of the tested relevé. Traditional indices, based only on species composition, produce different results than similarity indices that consider species fidelity. However, both types of indices failed in some situations and thus cannot be widely accepted as suitable methods of additional relevé assignment. Therefore a combined Frequency-Positive Fidelity Index (FPFI) is proposed. This new index includes compositional similarity of an assigned relevé with vegetation unit and retains the advantages and lacks the disadvantages of tested indices. 制备一种精确的破伤风抗体定量试剂,用于人源破伤风抗体的定量及人群破伤风抗体水平的测定。以人源破伤风免疫球蛋白国家标准品建立定量反应曲线,经系统优化后建立双抗原夹心法定量检测系统。定量反应曲线显示,抗体浓度在10~120m IU/m l之间,相关系数r=0.9993。精密度(CV)≤7%。实际应用验证,未经(TTC)免疫的献血员中,具有保护性抗体水平(0.01 IU/m l)的比例只占12.2%。经3针(TTC)免疫后,抗体水平均大于0.01 IU/m l,经动物体内中和试验法(NT)定量的3批破伤风免疫球蛋白,用制备的酶联免疫破伤风抗体定量试剂测定,其回收率分别为109%、98%和93%。结论,该试剂可用于破伤风抗体的精确定量。  相似文献
