We demonstrate methods for the detection of architectural distortion in prior mammograms of interval-cancer cases based on analysis of the orientation of breast tissue patterns in mammograms. We hypothesize that architectural distortion modifies the normal orientation of breast tissue patterns in mammographic images before the formation of masses or tumors. In the initial steps of our methods, the oriented structures in a given mammogram are analyzed using Gabor filters and phase portraits to detect node-like sites of radiating or intersecting tissue patterns. Each detected site is then characterized using the node value, fractal dimension, and a measure of angular dispersion specifically designed to represent spiculating patterns associated with architectural distortion.Our methods were tested with a database of 106 prior mammograms of 56 interval-cancer cases and 52 mammograms of 13 normal cases using the features developed for the characterization of architectural distortion, pattern classification via quadratic discriminant analysis, and validation with the leave-one-patient out procedure. According to the results of free-response receiver operating characteristic analysis, our methods have demonstrated the capability to detect architectural distortion in prior mammograms, taken 15 months (on the average) before clinical diagnosis of breast cancer, with a sensitivity of 80% at about five false positives per patient.  相似文献

Considering the current low level of mechanization for domestic green onion planting and the high labor intensity of artificial planting, a 2ZYX-2 green onion ditching and transplanting machine, which can complete ditching, ridging, transplanting, repression, soil covering and other operations, is designed in this study. The Central Composite test design method was carried out with the speed of the transplanting machine, the depth of the opener and the horizontal position of the opener as the experimental factors and with the qualification ratio of perpendicularity, the variation coefficient of the plant spacing and the qualification ratio of the planting depth as the test index. Through the analysis of the model interaction and response surface, the change laws that the influence the machine’s forward speed, the depth of the opener and the horizontal position of the opener were studied. The regression model was optimized by Design-Expert 8.0.6 software, and the accuracy of the predicted results was verified by experiments. The optimal working parameters showed that the forward speed of the machine was 0.06 m/s, the depth of the opener was 102 mm, and the horizontal position of the opener was 29 mm. Under conditions of optimal working parameters, the qualification rate of the verticality was 86.83%, the coefficient of variation for the plant spacing was 2.77, and the pass rate of planting depth was 88.26%. The research related to the thesis can provide a reference for the mechanized planting of green onion, which is of great significance to the cost-effectiveness of the green onion industry.  相似文献

Toxoplasma gondii nucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase (NTPDase) 1 was crystallized in an intermediate tetrameric conformation. The crystal structure is similar to that of T. gondii NTPDase3 and represents an inactive conformation as the activating disulfide bridge is not reduced and the active site cleft between the two domains of each monomer is open. However, the arrangement of the monomers within the tetramer differs from that of the inactive form of NTPDase3 and may represent an intermediate conformation on the path of the closure motion of the tetramer induced upon activation. With the development and wide application of motion capture technology, the captured motion data sets are becoming larger and larger. For this reason, an efficient retrieval method for the motion database is very important. The retrieval method needs an appropriate indexing scheme and an effective similarity measure that can organize the existing motion data well. In this paper, we represent a human motion hierarchical index structure and adopt a nonlinear method to segment motion sequences. Based on this, we extract motion patterns and then we employ a fast similarity measure algorithm for motion pattern similarity computation to efficiently retrieve motion sequences. The experiment results show that the approach proposed in our paper is effective and efficient.  相似文献

A wide variety of nano-biotechnological applications are being developed for nanoparticles based on in vitro diagnostic and imaging systems. Some of these systems allow highly sensitive detection of molecular biomarkers. Frequently, the very low concentration of the biomarkers makes very difficult the mathematical simulation of the motion of nanoparticles based on classical, partial differential equations. We address the issue of incubation times for low concentration systems using Monte Carlo simulations. We describe a mathematical model and computer simulation of Brownian motion of nanoparticle–bioprobe–polymer contrast agent complexes and their hybridisation to immobilised targets. We present results for the dependence of incubation times on the number of particles available for detection, and the geometric layout of the DNA-detection assay on the chip.  相似文献

Abstract

Since the computational work on the relaxation process toward the equilibrium state by Fermi, Pasta, and Ulam (FPU) [1], the stochastic behaviors in one dimensional lattice models have been studied by many physicists numerically and theoretically. The objective of those studies is to understand the origin of thermodynamical properties from the microscopic particle motions which are determined by the deterministic equations of motion. In the FPU work, since the given energy was too small and anharmonicity was too weak, thermodynamic irreversibility phenomena, which lead to the equipartition of energy among modes, were not observed. Many studies after this work confirmed the existence of the threshold for the chaotic motions [2] [3]. However, the relation of the chaotic motion in the system with many degrees of freedom to the thermodynamical properties is not well understood [4]. The steady lattice thermal conduction in one dimensional lattice poses an interesting problem in this; respect. A clear linear internal temperature gradient was not observed in the FPU model [5], while it was observed in the the ding-a-ling model by Casati et al. [6] and the diatomic Toda lattice (DTL) by Mokross and Büttner [7]. Recently, the system size dependence of the coefficient of thermal conductivity has been studied [8][9] and the Fourier's law of heat conduction is begining to be confirmed in the DTL.  相似文献

A number of theoretical dopaminergic D 2 models were constructed using comparative modelling techniques. The models constructed were based on the recently published crystal structure of rhodopsin. D 2 models were constructed without any ligands bound in the active site and also with the endogenous agonist, dopamine, bound in the active site. Comparison of the bound and unbound models revealed the importance of the chi angle of serine 197 and the effect this has on the bending of helix 5 when an agonist is present in the binding site.  相似文献

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS3 helicase couples adenosine triphosphate (ATP) binding and hydrolysis to polynucleotide unwinding. Understanding the regulation mechanism of ATP binding will facilitate targeting of the ATP-binding site for potential therapeutic development for hepatitis C. T324, an amino acid residue connecting domains 1 and 2 of NS3 helicase, has been suggested as part of a flexible hinge for opening of the ATP-binding cleft, although the detailed mechanism remains largely unclear. We used computational simulation to examine the mutational effect of T324 on the dynamics of the ATP-binding site. A mutant model, T324A, of the NS3 helicase apo structure was created and energy was minimized. Molecular dynamics simulation was conducted for both wild type and the T324A mutant apo structures to compare their differences. For the mutant structure, histogram analysis of pairwise distances between residues in domains 1 and 2 (E291-Q460, K210-R464 and R467-T212) showed that separation between the two domains was reduced by ~10% and the standard deviation by ~33%. Root mean square fluctuation (RMSF) analysis demonstrated that residues in close proximity to residue 324 have at least 30% RMSF value reductions in the mutant structure. Solvent RMSF analysis showed that more water molecules were trapped near D290 and H293 in domain 1 to form an extensive interaction network constraining cleft opening. We also demonstrated that the T324A mutation established a new atomic interaction with V331, revealing that an atomic interaction cascade from T324 to residues in domains 1 and 2 controls the flexibility of the ATP-binding cleft.  相似文献

Abstract

Motor dysfunction is consistently reported but understudied in schizophrenia. It has been hypothesized that this abnormality may reflect a neuro-developmental disorder underlying this illness. The main goal of this study was to analyze movement patterns used by participants with schizophrenia and healthy controls during overarm throwing performance, using a markerless motion capture system. Thirteen schizophrenia patients and 16 healthy control patients performed the overarm throwing task in a markerless motion capture system. Participants were also examined for the presence of motor neurological soft signs (mNSS) using the Brief Motor Scale. Schizophrenia patients demonstrated a less developed movement pattern with low individualization of components compared to healthy controls. The schizophrenia group also displayed a higher incidence of mNSS. The presence of a less mature movement pattern can be an indicator of neuro-immaturity and a marker for atypical neurological development in schizophrenia. Our findings support the understanding of motor dysfunction as an intrinsic part of the disorder of schizophrenia.  相似文献
