The potential of 24 indigenous isolates of Purpureocillium lilacinum (Paecilomyces lilacinus) (Thom) Samson collected from different agro-climatic zones of India was investigated against the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita. The studies were conducted in vitro (larvicidal, ovicidal and egg-parasitising capacity) and under naturally infested field conditions with selected strains. Repeated field trials were conducted with talc-based preparations of fungal strains at 10 kg ha?1, which were applied mixed in farm yard manure (FYM) at 1.5 t ha?1. Results (in vitro) showed that all tested isolates were capable to parasitise eggs, inhibit egg hatching and cause juvenile mortality of M. incognita at various levels. Based on the performance under in vitro studies, eight isolates (NDPL-01, ANDPL-02, SHGPL-03, HYBPL-04, AHDPL-05, PTNPL-06, SNGPL-07 and VNSPL-08) were re-tested to confirm the results. HYBDPL-04 was found causing highest mortality (80%), inhibition of egg hatching (90%) as well as parasitisation of M. incognita eggs (75%). Under field trials also, the best protection of root-knot disease of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum L.), in terms of reduction of galls (61%) and reproductive factor (Pf/Pi (RF) = 0.2) was achieved through application of HYBDPL-04 + FYM compared to control and other tested isolates. It also enhanced marketable yield of tomato up to 43%. It is concluded that the HYBDPL-04 strain of P. lilacinum is highly effective for management of root-knot disease of tomato under naturally infested field conditions. Sm3+ ions doped strontium lithium lead borate glasses (SLLB:Sm) were prepared using a conventional melt‐quenching technique. The glasses were analyzed using X‐ray diffractometry and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, optical absorption, fluorescence spectral analysis, and fluorescence lifetime decay. The Judd–Ofelt (J–O) parameters and radiative parameters of the SLLB:Sm10 glass (1.0 mol% Sm3+ ion‐doped glass) were calculated using J–O theory. From the emission spectra, among all the synthesized glass, SLLB:Sm10 glass had the highest emission intensity for 4G5/2→6H11/2 transition (610 nm). Emission parameters, such as stimulated emission cross‐section and optical gain bandwidth, were calculated. For all concentrations of Sm3+ ions, the decay profile showed an exponential nature and decreased when the Sm3+ ion concentration was increased due to a concentration quenching effect. Interspecific competition can occur when species are unable to distinguish between conspecific and heterospecific mates or competitors when they occur in sympatry. Selection in response to interspecific competition can lead to shifts in signalling traits—a process called agonistic character displacement. In two fan-throated lizard species—Sitana laticeps and Sarada darwini—females are morphologically indistinguishable and male agonistic signalling behaviour is similar. Consequently, in areas where these species overlap, males engage in interspecific aggressive interactions. To test whether interspecific male aggression between Si. laticeps and Sa. darwini results in agonistic character displacement, we quantified species recognition and signalling behaviour using staged encounter assays with both conspecifics and heterospecifics across sympatric and allopatric populations of both species. We found an asymmetric pattern, wherein males of Si. laticeps but not Sa. darwini showed differences in competitor recognition and agonistic signalling traits (morphology and behaviour) in sympatry compared with allopatry. This asymmetric shift in traits is probably due to differences in competitive abilities between species and can minimize competitive interactions in zones of sympatry. Overall, our results support agonistic character displacement, and highlight the role of asymmetric interspecific competition in driving shifts in social signals. 相似文献

Microbial plant interaction plays a major role in the sustainability of plants. The understanding of phytomicrobiome interactions enables the gene-editing tools for the construction of the microbial consortia. In this interaction, microbes share several common secondary metabolites and terpenoid metabolic pathways with their host plants that ensure a direct connection between the microbiome and associated plant metabolome. In this way, the CRISPR-mediated gene-editing tool provides an attractive approach to accomplish the creation of microbial consortia. On the other hand, the genetic manipulation of the host plant with the help of CRISPR-Cas9 can facilitate the characterization and identification of the genetic determinants. It leads to the enhancement of microbial capacity for more trait improvement. Many plant characteristics like phytovolatilization, phytoextraction, phytodesalination and phytodegradation are targeted by these approaches. Alternatively, chemical communications by PGPB are accomplished by the exchange of different signal molecules. For example, quorum-sensing is the way of the cell to cell communication in bacteria that lead to the detection of metabolites produced by pathogens during adverse conditions and also helpful in devising some tactics towards understanding plant immunity. Along with quorum-sensing, different volatile organic compounds and N-acyl homoserine lactones play a significant role in cell to cell communication by microbe to plant and among the plants respectively. Therefore, it is necessary to get details of all the significant approaches that are useful in exploring cell to cell communications. In this review, we have described gene-editing tools and the cell to cell communication process by quorum-sensing based signaling. These signaling processes via CRISPR- Cas9 mediated gene editing can improve the microbe-plant community in adverse climatic conditions. 相似文献

An efficient protocol has been developed for the synthesis of a small library of 3′-deoxy-3′-(4-substituted-triazol-1-yl)-5-methyluridine using Cu(I)-catalyzed Huisgen–Sharpless–Meldal 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of 3′-azido-3′-deoxy-5-methyluridine with different alkynes under optimized condition in an overall yields of 76%–92%. Here, the azido precursor compound, i.e., 3′-azido-3′-deoxy-5-methyluridine was chemoenzymatically synthesized from D-xylose in good yield. Some of the alkynes used in cycloaddition reaction were synthesized by the reaction of hydroxycoumarins or naphthols with propargyl bromide in acetone using K2CO3in excellent yields. All synthesized compounds were unambiguously identified on the basis of their spectral (IR, 1H-, 13C NMR spectra, and high-resolution mass spectra) data analysis. 相似文献
