The previous few decades have seen the development of biosensors and their use in monitoring of pesticides in food and environmental samples. Although inhibition‐based biosensors have been subject of several recent research works, their performance characteristics greatly depend on the type of immobilization and the presence of interfering compounds in the samples. Moreover, sensitivity, detection limits, and rapidity of the response are few of the other major features that need to be investigated further if they are to become operationally user‐friendly. This review will highlight research carried out in the past on biosensors that are based on enzyme inhibition for determination of organophosphorus compounds and carbamate pesticides. 相似文献

Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) has the potential to recover the soil hydrological properties of marginal lands. Nitrogen (N) and landscape position are the key factors in impacting these soil properties under switchgrass. The specific objective of this study was to investigate the responses of N rate (low, 0 kg N/ha and high, 112 kg N/ha) and landscape positions (shoulder and footslope) on near‐surface soil hydrological properties that included: infiltration rate (qs), saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ksat), bulk density (ρb), penetration resistance (SPR), water retention (SWR), pore‐size distribution (PSD), and carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) fractions under switchgrass production. Data showed that, in general, the N and landscape position significantly influenced soil hydrological properties. Higher N rate decreased ρb (1.23 and 1.36 g/cm3 at 0–5 and 5–15 cm, respectively) and SPR (1.06 and 1.53 MPa at 0–5 and 5–15 cm, respectively) at both depths and increased the qs, Ksat and Green–Ampt estimated sorptivity (S) and hydraulic conductivity (Ks) parameters, and SWR (0–5 cm depth) at 0 and ?0.4 kPa matric potentials (ψm). Furthermore, footslope position significantly decreased ρb, SPR at 0–5 and 5–15 cm depths, and increased the qs, Ksat, S, Ks, and SWR (0–5 cm depth) at every ψm ranged from 0 to ?30.0 kPa. The higher N rate increased the coarse mesopores (60–1,000 μm) and total pores, whereas, footslope position increased the coarse mesopores, micropores (<60 μm), and total pores. Data from this study showed that planting switchgrass with 112 kg N/ha under footslope position helped in improving the soil hydrological properties, those can be beneficial in enhancing the biomass yield under marginal lands. 相似文献

It is essential to characterize the cellular properties of mesenchymal stem cell populations to maintain quality specifications and control in regenerative medicine. Biofunctional materials have been designed as artificial matrices for the stimulation of cell adhesion and specific cellular functions. We have developed recombinant maltose-binding protein (MBP)-fused proteins as artificial adhesion matrices to control human mesenchymal stem cell (hMSC) fate by using an integrin-independent heparin sulfate proteoglycans-mediated cell adhesion. In this study, we characterize cell adhesion-dependent cellular behaviors of human adipose-derived stem cells (hASCs) and human bone marrow stem cells (hBMSCs). We used an MBP-fused basic fibroblast growth factor (MF)-coated surface and fibronectin (FN)-coated surface to restrict and support, respectively, integrin-mediated adhesion. The cells adhered to MF exhibited restricted actin cytoskeleton organization and focal adhesion kinase phosphorylation. The hASCs and hBMSCs exhibited different cytoplasmic projection morphologies on MF. Both hASCs and hBMSCs differentiated more dominantly into osteogenic cells on FN than on MF. In contrast, hASCs differentiated more dominantly into adipogenic cells on MF than on FN, whereas hBMSCs differentiated predominantly into adipogenic cells on FN. The results indicate that hASCs exhibit a competitive differentiation potential (osteogenesis vs. adipogenesis) that depends on the cell adhesion matrix, whereas hBMSCs exhibit both adipogenesis and osteogenesis in integrin-mediated adhesion and thus hBMSCs have noncompetitive differentiation potential. We suggest that comparing differentiation behaviors of hMSCs with the diversity of cell adhesion is an important way to characterize hMSCs for regenerative medicine. 相似文献

Protein Data Bank (PDB) is a freely accessible archive of the 3-D structural data of biological molecules. Structure based studies offers a unique vantage point in inferring the properties of a protein molecule from structural data. This is too big a task to be done manually. Moreover, there is no single tool, software or server that comprehensively analyses all structure-based properties. The objective of the present work is to develop an offline computational toolkit, PDB@ containing in-built algorithms that help categorizing the structural properties of a protein molecule. The user has the facility to view and edit the PDB file to his need. Some features of the present work are unique in itself and others are an improvement over existing tools. Also, the representation of protein properties in both graphical and textual formats helps in predicting all the necessary details of a protein molecule on a single platform. 相似文献

Neuroblastoma is associated with chromosomal aberrations of 1p and 1q in a majority of cases. Some nonrandom secondary changes were observed in this study. The role of these changes in the development and progression of neuroblastoma is examined. Chromosomal analysis was performed on 33 children with neuroblastoma using fine needle aspiration cultures. Metaphases were observed in 57.5% of cases. 86.6% showed the involvement of chromosome 1. Double minutes and unidentifiable markers was also observed. The most frequent secondary changes included add(4)(q35), add(11)(p13), add(14)(q32), add(16)(q12). add(17)(p13), add(19)(q12) and add(21)(q22). Minority of cases showed deletions and translocations. Ploidy pattern ranged from diploid to hypotetraploid. The present study substantiates aberration of chromosome 1 in the form of deletions, additions, duplications and iso-chromosome with some notable secondary abnormalities. 相似文献
