Effect of Desipramine on a Glycoprotein Sialyltransferase Activity in C6 Cultured Glioma Cells

The tricyclic antidepressant desipramine, when added to culture medium, gave rise in C6 rat glioma cells to a decrease of the activity of the enzyme asialofetuin sialyltransferase. The inhibition was dose and time dependent and was observed in both multiplying cells and cells blocked with 2 mM thymidine or depletion of amino acids. This inhibition was rather specific to the sialyltransferase, as under the conditions where this enzyme was inhibited up to 70%, other enzymes such as dolichol phosphate mannose synthetase, glutamine synthetase, and glycerol phosphate dehydrogenase remained unaffected. This inhibition was not reversed after removal of desipramine from the medium and was not observed by direct addition of desipramine to the sialyltransferase incubation assay. Under the same conditions, W-7 [N-(6-aminohexyl)-5-chloro-1-naphthalenesulfonamide], which is known to be a potent calmodulin antagonist and an inhibitor of calmodulin-dependent kinases, gave the same concentration-dependent inhibition profile of sialyltransferase as desipramine, whereas H-7 [1-(5-isoquinolinylsulfonyl)-2-methylpiperazine], which is an inhibitor of protein kinase C and cyclic nucleotide-dependent kinases, had no effect. So, it is suggested that desipramine inhibits the sialyltransferase activity in C6 glioma cells through a calmodulin-dependent system.     

根结线虫天敌真菌的筛选研究初报

从土壤和病株上分离到10个线虫的天敌真菌菌株,其中有三个菌株较有希望,烛台霉属(Candelabrello sp.)一个。孤孢属(Monacrosporium spp.)两个,菌株代号分别为CN_7;CN_(?)和CN_5。 据试验:CN_7较好,菌丝体生长的温度范围是20～33℃,最适宜的温度范围是25～30℃,以式捕捉环捕食线虫,对培养基选择性不强,最适宜的pH值是6.0～7.5,但在pH4.5～8.0都能进收缩行捕捉,捕捉器官形成量多,捕虫势强且稳定,在水中也能形成捕捉环并捕食线虫。     

Preliminary study of the distribution of the toxic elements As,Cd, and Hg in human hair and tissues by RNAA

In order to study the relationships between trace element concentrations of hair and internal body burdens, a radiochemical NAA technique has been used for determination of the elements As, Cd, and Hg in autopsy samples of liver, kidney-cortex, lung, and hair from 24 male persons who died by accident. High significant positive correlations were observed between the As concentration in hair and in kidney-cortex, and between Cd and Zn concentrations in kidney-cortex. The contents of Cd, both for lung and kidney-cortex, were related to the smoking habits of the subjects.

     

多胚水稻ApⅢ（双13）的胚胎学观察

对多胚水稻（Ｏｒｙｚａ ｓａｔｉｖａ Ｌ．）ＡｐⅢ的大量成熟颖果、人工萌发的幼苗和开花后３～５ ｄ 的幼嫩颖果进行的整体解剖和显微制片观察表明：ＡｐⅢ的５０００粒成熟颖果中,８９．０％ 含单胚单苗,８．９％ 和１．２％分别含双胚双苗和三胚三苗;７００多粒幼嫩颖果中,９０．０％ ～９５．０％ 含单胚,５．０％ ～７．０％ 含双胚。因制片的数目有限,未见到含三胚的;在含单胚和多胚颖果中,胚均位于同一胚囊的珠孔端,未见到胚囊以外存在不定胚。根据上述结果,似可以认为ＡｐⅢ单粒颖果的双胚和三胚是由同一胚囊内的卵细胞和１或２个助细胞受精或不受精发育而来的     

福建武夷山甜槠群落能量的研究

在生物量、生产力研究基础上,对武夷山甜槠（Ｃａｓｔａｎｏｐｓｉｓ ｅｙｒｅｉ（Ｃｈａｍ ｐ．ｅｘ Ｂｅｎｔｈ．） Ｔｕｔｃｈ．）群落各组分的热值、群落能量现存量、能量年净固定量以及太阳能转化效率进行了研究。结果表明：（１）甜槠群落各组分样品的干重热值具有一定的差异,树皮热值最高,细根热值最低。（２）甜槠群落的能量现存量达７８０５８４．１ ｋＪ·ｍ － ２,其中地上部分为６７８９１３．８ ｋＪ·ｍ － ２,占总量的８６．９８％ ;地下部分为１０１６７０．３ ｋＪ·ｍ － ２,占１３．０２％ 。（３）甜槠群落的能量年净固定量（１９９２年）为２６８５６．２ ｋＪ·ｍ － ２·ａ－ １,林地太阳光合有效辐射能的转化效率为１．２９６％ 。     

大豆结瘤突变体成分的初步分析及其对硝酸还原酶活性和结瘤的影响

超结瘤大豆（Ｇｌｙｃｉｎｅ ｍ ａｘ （Ｌ．） Ｍｅｒｒ．） ｎｔｓ ３８２ 和不结瘤大豆Ｎｏｄ ４９ 的叶和根组织水提取物经Ｓｅｐｈａｄｅｘ Ｇ２５ 过滤、洗脱,再根据洗脱物对硝酸还原酶（ＮＲ）活性的影响可划分为４ 个组分（ｆｒａｃｔｉｏｎ）样品,即ｎｔｓ ３８２（Ｎｏｄ ４９） Ｆ１、ｎｔｓ ３８２（Ｎｏｄ ４９） Ｆ２、ｎｔｓ ３８２（Ｎｏｄ ４９） Ｆ３ 和ｎｔｓ ３８２（Ｎｏｄ ４９） Ｆ４。其中, ｎｔｓ３８２ Ｆ２ 和Ｆ４ 抑制ＮＲ 活性作用在接种ＵＳＤＡ１１０ 后明显下降, 但接种的ｎｔｓ ３８２ Ｆ２ 却能提高大豆Ｂｒａｇｇ 的结瘤数达一倍, 而接种的ｎｔｓ ３８２ Ｆ３ 和Ｆ４ 的作用不明显。ＮＲ 活性抑制因子不是刺激结瘤的因子, 刺激结瘤的因子主要分布在接种的ｎｔｓ３８２ Ｆ２ 部分中。与这一现象相反, Ｎｏｄ ４９ Ｆ２ 和Ｆ４ 抑制ＮＲ活性的作用在接种后更强, 且也抑制大豆ｎｔｓ ３８２ 的结瘤, 其中Ｎｏｄ ４９ Ｆ４ 抑制结瘤的作用基本不能逆转。抑制结瘤因子主要分布在接过种的Ｎｏｄ ４９ Ｆ４ 部分中     

九种罕见的人类染色体异常核型报告

Superhelical torsion controls DNA interstrand cross-linking by antitumor cis- diamminedichloroplatinum(II).

Negatively supercoiled, relaxed and linearized forms of pSP73 DNA were modified in cell-free medium by cis-diamminedichloroplatinum(II) (cisplatin). The frequency of interstrand cross-links (ICLs) formed in these DNAs has been determined by: (i) immunochemical analysis; (ii) an assay employing NaCN as a probe of DNA ICLs of cisplatin; (iii) gel electrophoresis under denaturing conditions. At low levels of the modification of DNA (<1 Pt atom fixed per 500 bp) the number of ICLs formed by cisplatin was radically enhanced in supercoiled in comparison with linearized or relaxed DNA. At these low levels of modification, the frequency of ICLs in supercoiled DNA was enhanced with increasing level of negative supercoiling or with decreasing level of modification. In addition, the replication mapping of DNA ICLs of cisplatin was consistent with these lesions being preferentially formed in negatively supercoiled DNA between guanine residues in both the 5'-d(GC)-3' and the 5'-d(CG)-3' sites. Among the DNA adducts of cisplatin the ICL has the markedly greatest capability to unwind the double helix. We suggest that the formation of ICLs of cisplatin is thermodynamically more favored in negatively supercoiled DNA owing mainly to the relaxation of supercoils.
