Global convergence of delayed neural network systems   总被引:14,自引:0,他引:14  
In this paper, without assuming the boundedness, strict monotonicity and differentiability of the activation functions, we utilize a new Lyapunov function to analyze the global convergence of a class of neural networks models with time delays. A new sufficient condition guaranteeing the existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of the equilibrium point is derived. This stability criterion imposes constraints on the feedback matrices independently of the delay parameters. The result is compared with some previous works. Furthermore, the condition may be less restrictive in the case that the activation functions are hyperbolic tangent.  相似文献

In this paper, a chemostat model with Beddington-DeAnglis uptake function and impulsive state feedback control is considered. We obtain sufficient conditions of the global asymptotical stability of the system without impulsive state feedback control. We also obtain that the system with impulsive state feedback control has periodic solution of order one. Sufficient conditions for existence and stability of periodic solution of order one are given. In some cases, it is possible that the system exists periodic solution of order two. Our results show that the control measure is effective and reliable.  相似文献

This paper considers the robust stability of a class of neural networks with Markovian jumping parameters and time-varying delay. By employing a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, a sufficient condition for the global exponential stability of the delayed Markovian jumping neural networks is established. The proposed condition is also extended to the uncertain cases, which are shown to be the improvement and extension of the existing ones. The model proposed by Wilson and Cowan (1972) describes the dynamics of two interacting subpopulations of excitatory and inhibitory neurons. It has been used to model neural structures like the olfactory bulb, whisker barrels, and the subthalamo-pallidal system. It is well-known that this system can exhibit an oscillatory behavior that is amplified by the presence of delays. In the absence of delays, the conditions for stability are well-known. The aim of our paper is to clarify these conditions when delays are included in the model. The first ingredient of our methods is a new necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of multiple equilibria. This condition is related to those for local asymptotic stability. In addition, a sufficient condition for global stability is also proposed. The second and main ingredient is a stability analysis of the system in the frequency-domain, based on the Nyquist criterion, that takes the four independent delays into account. The methods proposed in this paper can be applied to analyse the stability of the subthalamo-pallidal feedback loop, a deep brain structure involved in Parkinson’s disease. Our stability conditions are easy to compute and characterize sharply the system’s parameters for which spontaneous oscillations appear.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of global robust exponential stabilization for a class of neural networks with reaction-diffusion terms and time-varying delays which covers the Hopfield neural networks and cellular neural networks is investigated. A feedback control gain matrix is derived to achieve the global robust exponential stabilization of the neural networks by using the Lyapunov stability theory, and the stabilization condition can be verified if a certain Hamiltonian matrix with no eigenvalues on the imaginary axis. This condition can avoid solving an algebraic Riccati equation. Finally, a numerical simulation illustrates the effectiveness of the results.  相似文献

In this paper, the global robust stability problem of delayed Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy Hopfield neural networks with discontinuous activation functions (TSFHNNs) is considered. Based on Lyapunov stability theory and M-matrices theory, we derive a stability criterion to guarantee the global robust stability of TSFHNNs. Compared with the existing literature, we remove the assumptions on the neuron activations such as Lipschitz conditions, bounded, monotonic increasing property or the assumption that the right-limit value is bigger than the left one at the discontinuous point. Finally, two numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed stability results.  相似文献

Postural stability in standing balance results from the mechanics of body dynamics as well as active neural feedback control processes. Even when an animal or human has multiple legs on the ground, active neural regulation of balance is required. When the postural configuration, or stance, changes, such as when the feet are placed further apart, the mechanical stability of the organism changes, but the degree to which this alters the demands on neural feedback control for postural stability is unknown. We developed a robotic system that mimics the neuromechanical postural control system of a cat in response to lateral perturbations. This simple robotic system allows us to study the interactions between various parameters that contribute to postural stability and cannot be independently varied in biological systems. The robot is a 'planar', two-legged device that maintains compliant balance control in a variety of stance widths when subject to perturbations of the support surface, and in this sense reveals principles of lateral balance control that are also applicable to bipeds. Here we demonstrate that independent variations in either stance width or delayed neural feedback gains can have profound and often surprisingly detrimental effects on the postural stability of the system. Moreover, we show through experimentation and analysis that changing stance width alters fundamental mechanical relationships important in standing balance control and requires a coordinated adjustment of delayed feedback control to maintain postural stability.  相似文献

This work is a theoretical consideration of steady-state kinetics of prompt and delayed fluorescence of chlorophyll a entering into the pigment matrices of photosynthetic units of photosystem II when the electron transport from the primary to secondary acceptor of this system is blocked. It has been shown that in such a system of quantum yields of prompt and delayed fluorescence are complementary. At low intensities of excitation light the quantum yield of delayed fluorescence is several times more than that of prompt fluorescence. With an increase in the light intensity the reverse situation is observed. The literature data given sustain the results obtained. it has also been unambiguously shown what values, when changed, may be responsible for the corresponding changes in prompt and delayed fluorescence yields.  相似文献

A model for the transmission of dengue fever in a constant human population and variable vector population is discussed. A complete global analysis is given, which uses the results of the theory of competitive systems and stability of periodic orbits, to establish the global stability of the endemic equilibrium. Recognising that the unique biomechanical properties of articular cartilage are a consequence of its structure, this paper describes a finite element methodology which explicitly represents this structure using a modified overlay element model. The validity of this novel concept was then tested by using it to predict the axial curling forces generated by cartilage matrices subjected to saline solutions of known molality and concentration in a novel experimental protocol. Our results show that the finite element modelling methodology accurately represents the intrinsic biomechanical state of the cartilage matrix and can be used to predict its transient load-carriage behaviour. We conclude that this ability to represent the intrinsic swollen condition of a given cartilage matrix offers a viable avenue for numerical analysis of degenerate articular cartilage and also those matrices affected by disease.  相似文献

When the genomic integrity of a cell is challenged, its fate is determined in part by signals conveyed by the p53 tumour suppressor protein. It was observed recently that such signals are not simple gradations of p53 concentration, but rather a counter-intuitive limit-cycle behaviour. Based on a careful mathematical interpretation of the experimental body of knowledge, we propose a model for the p53 signalling network and characterise the p53 stability and oscillatory dynamics. In our model, ATM, a protein that senses DNA damage, activates p53 by phosphorylation. In its active state, p53 has a decreased degradation rate and an enhanced transactivation of Mdm2, a gene whose protein product Mdm2 tags p53 for degradation. Thus the p53-Mdm2 system forms a negative feedback loop. However, the feedback in this loop is delayed, as the pool of Mdm2 molecules being induced by p53 at a given time will mark for degradation the pool of p53 molecules at some later time, after the Mdm2 molecules have been transcribed, exported out of the nucleus, translated and transported back into the nucleus. The analysis of our model demonstrates how this time lag combines with the ATM-controlled feedback strength and effective dampening of the negative feedback loop to produce limit-cycle oscillations. The picture that emerges is that ATM, once activated by DNA damage, makes the p53-Mdm2 oscillator undergo a supercritical Hopf bifurcation. This approach yields an improved understanding of the global dynamics and bifurcation structure of our time-delayed, negative feedback model and allows for predictions of the behaviour of the p53 system under different perturbations.  相似文献

In this paper, the delayed projection neural network for a class of solving convex programming problem is proposed. The existence of solution and global exponential stability of the proposed network are proved, which can guarantee to converge at an exact optimal solution of the convex programming problems.
