光敏核不育水稻农垦58s育性转换始期,以涂叶法和灌根法对长日、短日处理植株饲喂的45Ca可自叶片或根部转入功能器官(叶、幼穗),转入量随标记强度的增加而增加;植株吸收的45Ca可明显提高长日照下稻株的花粉可育率和自交结实率,而短日照下稻株的效应则相反。  相似文献

本文选用5个常规粳稻品种和3小光敏感核不育系与湖北光敏感核不育水稻农垦58S杂交,用花粉育性、套袋自交结实率、自然结实率和大田目测4种育性指标同时鉴定同一植株育性,观察分析杂种后代在长日下植株育性的表现。结果表明:光敏核不育水稻不育性的遗传行为表现为受1对隐性主基因控制,不同的遗传背景对不育性的遗传行为表现有不同程度的影响。  相似文献

以籼稻两用雄性核不育系(简称两用系)培矮64S为供体,通过花药培养,获得了26个愈伤系共1969株花粉植株。根据花粉一代(H1)的倍性和育性,可把它们分为三种类型,即a)单倍体:有1个愈伤系41株全为单倍体植株;b)不分离型:有19个愈伤系的群体育性不分离,全部植株均在不育期表现败育,其它性状有差异但不显著;c)分离型:其余6个愈伤系表现分离,其中3个各有2-7株单倍体植株出现,并且这些愈伤系中均  相似文献

比较了(光敏s/正常品种)F_1及F_2为供体亲本,对在花药培养时所获得的花粉植株中不育个体/全部花粉植株之比例的影响。结果表明,以F_1为供体亲本,在所获得的二倍体花粉植株(A_1)中,不育株(长日下)约占20%左右;而从F_2分离的不育株为供体亲本,相应的比例为90%左右。对获得不育的花粉植株而言,供体亲本经过F_2的选择,在花粉一代中可以提高育种效率3—4倍。指出,以培育光敏感雄性不育系为目的的花药培养,与一般育种之花药培养采用杂种F_1为供体亲本不同,不仅应对杂种F_2代在长日照条件下进行不育株的选择,而且应在短日照下对这种不育株作育性转换的双重选择。以这种个体作为花药培养的供体亲本,可以大大提高育种效率。 在长日照下表现不育的花粉植株的育性转换具多样性。来自同一组合的不育花粉植株在晚造(短日照)条件下,其花粉有的染色,频率高且稳定;有的虽然可变为染色,但频率不高或不稳定或二者兼有;有些却一直不为Ⅰ-KⅠ染色,或即使染色频率也在10%以下。这一结果与收集全国各地15个光敏核不育系在本昕同期种值条件下的反应十分吻合。这说明通过花药培养,从特定的组合培育出所需要的光敏/光温互作或温敏型的核不育系的可能性是存在的。  相似文献

在胞质型水稻雄性不育系IR66707A和IR69700A经离体培养而获得的136个体细胞克隆中,发现了温敏核不育突变5例。这类突变体在广州地区的自然气候下,早季至晚季前期表现为不育,晚季后期表现为可育。盛夏,在幼穗发育至花粉形成阶段对部分突变材料进行短日照处理,发现对短日照敏感的不育系农垦58S转换为可育,而供试的5例突变及另一对照培矮64S却与未经处理的材料一样仍表现为不育,表明它们的育性与日照长度的变化无关。在同一发育时期进行低温处理的结果显示,低温处理10d及10d以上者可发生育性转换,自交结实率在17.23%-42.19%之间,而未经处理的材料仍然表现不育,表明它们的育性转换与温度有关。以正常品种为父本与突变体杂交,F1全部为可育;F2可育与不育个体的分离比为3:1;以F1为父本与之测交,TF1代中可育与不育个体的分离比为1:1。遗传分析表明,这种温敏核不育突变为一对隐性核基因所控制。获得了由胞质型雄性不育变为胞核型雄性不育的突变体,这在体细胞克隆变异领域中是一种典型的突变。  相似文献

Archaeological data are frequently cited in support of the idea that big game hunting drove the evolution of early Homo, mainly through its role in offspring provisioning. This argument has been disputed on two grounds: (1) ethnographic observations on modern foragers show that although hunting may contribute a large fraction of the overall diet, it is an unreliable day-to-day food source, pursued more for status than subsistence; (2) archaeological evidence from the Plio-Pleistocene, coincident with the emergence of Homo can be read to reflect low-yield scavenging, not hunting. Our review of the archaeology yields results consistent with these critiques: (1) early humans acquired large-bodied ungulates primarily by aggressive scavenging, not hunting; (2) meat was consumed at or near the point of acquisition, not at home bases, as the hunting hypothesis requires; (3) carcasses were taken at highly variable rates and in varying degrees of completeness, making meat from big game an even less reliable food source than it is among modern foragers. Collectively, Plio-Pleistocene site location and assemblage composition are consistent with the hypothesis that large carcasses were taken not for purposes of provisioning, but in the context of competitive male displays. Even if meat were acquired more reliably than the archaeology indicates, its consumption cannot account for the significant changes in life history now seen to distinguish early humans from ancestral australopiths. The coincidence between the earliest dates for Homo ergaster and an increase in the archaeological visibility of meat eating that many find so provocative instead reflects: (1) changes in the structure of the environment that concentrated scavenging opportunities in space, making evidence of their pursuit more obvious to archaeologists; (2) H. ergaster's larger body size (itself a consequence of other factors), which improved its ability at interference competition.  相似文献

Arginine vasopressin (VP) is neurohypophysial hormone has been implicated in stimulating contractile activity of the male reproductive tract in the testis. Higher levels of VP decrease sperm count and motility. However, very little is known about the involvement of VP in controlling mammalian reproductive process. The goal of this study was to confirm that effect of VP receptor (AVPR2) on sperm function in capacitation condition. Deamino [Cys 1, D-ArgS] vasopressin (dDAVP), an AVPR2 agonist that operates only on AVPR2, was used. Also, Mouse spermatozoa were incubated with various concentrations of dDAVP (10−11–10−5 M) and sperm motility, capacitation status, Protein Kinase A activity (PKA), tyrosine phosphorylation, fertilization, and embryo development were assessed using computer-assisted sperm analysis, Combined Hoechst 33258/chlortetracycline fluorescence, Western blotting, and in vitro fertilization, respectively. AVPR2 was placed on the acrosome region and mid-piece in cauda epididymal spermatozoa, but the caput epididymal spermatozoa was mid-piece only. The high dDAVP treatment (10−8 and 10−5 M) significantly decreased sperm motility, intracellular pH and PKA substrates (approximately 55 and 22 kDa) and increased Ca2+ concentration. The highest concentration treatment significantly decreased PKA substrate (approximately 23 kDa) and tyrosine phosphorylation (approximately 30 kDa). VP detrimentally affected capacitation, acrosome reaction, and embryo development. Treatment with the lowest concentration (10−11 M) was not significantly different. Our data have shown that VP stimulates ion transport across sperm membrane through interactions with AVPR2. VP has a detrimental effect in sperm function, fertilization, and embryonic development, suggesting its critical role in the acquisition of fertilizing ability of mouse spermatozoa. These research findings will enable further study to determine molecular mechanism associated with fertility in capacitation and fertilization. It is also an important pivotal precondition to the progress of diagnostic test to identify infertility and to apply male contraception.  相似文献

The costs to females of participating in extrapair copulationsis an interesting but hitherto neglected topic in behavioralecology. An obvious potential cost to females is male physicalsanctions. However, although retaliation and punishment by malepartners has been proposed as a basic cost for female extrapairbehavior in theory, it has not been experimentally demonstrated.We studied the breeding biology of the lesser gray shrike (Laniusminor) and combined field observations and a field experimentto show that (1) there is a high intrusion rate during the female'sfertile period, and extrapair copulations occur in this population;(2) by detaining females during the fertile phase, males wereinduced to retaliate physically against their partners, therebyincreasing costs related to female extrapair behavior; and (3)there were no obvious costs to males of punishing their mates.DNA fingerprinting reveals that extrapair paternity is rareor absent in this population. Although we cannot conclude thatmonogamy at the genetic level is the result of male retaliation,we do show that male physical sanction is a cost that deceptivefemales have to assume. Males' strategies based on coercionshould be considered when explaining variation in extrapairpaternity across species.  相似文献

Before sterile mass-reared mosquitoes are released in an attempt to control local populations, many facets of male mating biology need to be elucidated. Large knowledge gaps exist in how both sexes meet in space and time, the correlation of male size and mating success and in which arenas matings are successful. Previous failures in mosquito sterile insect technique (SIT) projects have been linked to poor knowledge of local mating behaviours or the selection of deleterious phenotypes during colonisation and long-term mass rearing. Careful selection of mating characteristics must be combined with intensive field trials to ensure phenotypic characters are not antagonistic to longevity, dispersal, or mating behaviours in released males. Success has been achieved, even when colonised vectors were less competitive, due in part to extensive field trials to ensure mating compatibility and effective dispersal. The study of male mating biology in other dipterans has improved the success of operational SIT programmes. Contributing factors include inter-sexual selection, pheromone based attraction, the ability to detect alterations in local mating behaviours, and the effects of long-term colonisation on mating competitiveness. Although great strides have been made in other SIT programmes, this knowledge may not be germane to anophelines, and this has led to a recent increase in research in this area.  相似文献

T-007 strain of Drosophila melanogaster is known to show recombination in males. The present study established the following points: (1) Clustering occurrence of recombinant, unequal recovery of complementary products of recombination, relatively high frequency of recombination around centromeric region, and relatively frequent occurrence of mosaic phenontype flies-all of these seem to indicate that a considerable fraction of male recombination in the T-007 strain is of premeiotic, or somatic origin, although a fraction still could be of meiotic origin; (2) Male recombination occurs in the third as well as in the second chromosomes, and the frequencies of recombinations are comparable between these two chromosome pairs.  相似文献

The evolution of leks may be explained by several hypotheses. The ‘female preference’ hypothesis, which states that females favour males that have aggregated, has recently gained some empirical support. Low-quality, unattractive males may, however, settle near attractive males, as predicted by the ‘hotshot’ hypothesis. We tested whether black grouse Tetrao tetrix females use auditory cues to find the preferred leks, and whether males respond to vocal display emitted on leks. We conducted a playback experiment with male vocal display (rookooing) on leks, where the visiting females and displaying males were counted. The number of males tended to increase more on playback leks. Specifically, the number of 1-year-old males was greater on playback sites than on control sites. Also, the number of females, in relation to the lek size before the start of the experiment tended to increase. In addition, we used aviary playback trials to test whether females distinguish between single-male and multi-male displays. In a choice test, females showed greater preference for the ‘multi-male’ tape. The tendency for increased male numbers on playback leks resulted from increased visits of young, mobile males which were attracted to leks that they perceived to be large. This suggests a ‘hotshot’-type mechanism in the settlement of young males. Because females also responded to the supplemented auditory advertisement, or directly to the increased number of males, the ‘female preference’ hypothesis is also supported. Females may, at least in part, base their decision of which lek to visit on auditory cues, but visual contact to males may be also needed.  相似文献

An inbred line (OK1) of Drosophila melanogaster , recently derived from a natural population in Oklahoma, has been found by Woodruff and Thompson to exhibit a low frequency of spontaneous male recombination when outcrossed to marker stocks. There is also a reciprocal-cross effect, such that recombination is found only if OK1 males are used in the initial cross. When OK1 females are used, however, male recombination is again found if their male progeny are used for a subsequent cross.-In the present cytological analysis, chromosome behavior at male meiosis was studied in reciprocal crosses between the OK1 line and both a marker gene stock and an inversion stock. If the recombination events were "conventional" and premeiotic (gonial) in origin, no chromosome aberrations would be expected during meiosis. If they were "conventional" and meiotic, some dicentric bridges with free fragments would be expected in the inversion heterozygote, but none should be present in the marker gene cross.-The results demonstrated that the occurrence of recombination in males is most likely a meiotic event, though the occurrence of some limited premeiotic recombination can not be disproven. Meiosis was found to be perfectly normal in all crosses lacking male recombination. In all of the inversion stock and noninversion marker stock crosses that showed male recombination, however, anaphase bridges were found at both first and second meiotic divisions. These were often accompanied by more than the single fragment expected from a conventional inversion bridge and fragment situation. In extreme cases, almost complete pulverization of one or more autosomes was found.-All metaphase I stages were perfectly normal, suggesting that no comparable breakage occurs in premeiotic gonial mitoses. The form of chromosome damage is similar in many ways to that produced by some DNA synthesis inhibitors, or by some viral or mycoplasma infections. This possibility is discussed, and some of the evolutionary implications of the system are briefly considered.  相似文献

We studied masturbatory behavior of males over a 14-mo period in free-ranging Japanese macaques (Macaca fuscata yakui) on Yakushima island, Japan. We distinguished 2 types: (1) masturbation only and (2) masturbation with final ejaculation. Both types occurred in all 15 adult troop males. We calculated masturbation only as an index (M/h). It occurred over the whole year; however, it was more frequent during the mating than during the non-mating periods. Masturbation with ejaculation was restricted to the mating period. Male mating success correlated positively with social status. Both rate of masturbation only and masturbatory ejaculations increased as male social status and male mating success declined. Lower-ranking males had higher rates of masturbation only, i.e., they spent more time masturbating than higher-ranking males did. Lower-ranking males also had higher proportions of ejaculates for masturbation, while higher-ranking males used most of their ejaculates for mating.  相似文献

Summary The genetics and clinical delineation of male pseudohermaphroditism are reviewed. These disorders are categorized initially by their genetic etiology-cytogenetic, Mendelian, or teratogenic. It is especially important to distinguish cytogenetic forms, usually associated with 45,X/46,XY mosaicism, from Mendelian (genetic) forms because in the former the prevalence of gonadoblastomas or dysgerminomas is about 15–20%. Genetic forms include (1) those associated with a multiple malformation pattern, (2) those due to an error in adrenal or testicular hormonal biosynthesis, (3) complete testicular feminization, (4) incomplete testicular feminization, (5) Reifenstein syndrome, (6) pseudovaginal perineoscrotal hypospadias, and (7) agondia, and possibly other conditions. Incomplete testicular feminization and the Reifenstein syndrome may or may not represent varied expressivity of the same trait. The designation pseudovaginal perineoscrotal hypospadias is appropriate only if specific constellations of clinical features are present and if no metabolic abnormalities are demonstrable. Etiology and available genetic data are reviewed for each of these disorders.  相似文献
