From the aerial parts of Helichrysum chasmolycicum P.H Davis, which is an endemic species in Turkey, the flavonoids apigenin, luteolin, kaempferol, 3,5-dihydroxy-6,7,8-trimethoxyflavone, 3,5-dihydroxy-6,7,8,4′-tetramethoxyflavone, apigenin 7-O-glucoside, apigenin 4′-O-glucoside, luteolin 4′-O-glucoside, luteolin 4′,7-O-diglucoside, kaempferol 3-O-glucoside, kaempferol 7-O-glucoside and quercetin 3-O-glucoside were isolated. The methanol extract of the aerial parts of H. chasmolycicum showed antioxidant activity by DPPH method (IC50 0.92 mg/mL). Antimicrobial activity test was performed on the B, D, E extracts and also 3,5-dihydroxy-6,7,8-trimethoxyflavone and kaempferol 3-O-glucoside which were the major flavonoid compounds obtained from aerial parts of H. chasmolycicum by microbroth dilutions technique. The E (ethanol-ethyl acetate) extract showed moderate antimicrobial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, B (petroleum ether-60% ethanol-chloroform) extract and 3,5-dihydroxy-6,7,8-trimethoxyflavone showed moderate antifungal activity against Candida albicans.  相似文献

The major flavonoids in Riccia crystallina are naringenin and its 7-O-glucoside, apigenin 7-O-glucoside and apigenin 7-O-glucuronide and derivatives. Ricciocarpus natans is a rich source of luteolin 7,3′-di-O-glucuronide and also contains the 7-O-glucuronides of apigenin and luteolin and the 3′-O-glucuronide of luteolin. A parallel between the production of biosynthetically simple flavonoids and reduced morphology is evident among these liverworts.  相似文献

A new iridoid, 5β,6β-dihydroxyantirrhide (1) was isolated from the dried leaves of Pseuderanthemum carruthersii (Seem.) Guill. var. atropurpureum (Bull.) Fosb. (Acanthaceae), together with 13 known compounds, including two iridoids, linarioside and antirrhinoside; five phenylethanoids, echipuroside A, verbascoside, isoverbascoside, isomartynoside and osmanthuside B; and six flavonoids, luteolin 7-O-β-d-glucopyranoside, luteolin 7-O-rutinoside, apigenin 7-O-rutinoside, apigenin 6-C-α-l-arabinopyranosyl–8-C-β-l-arabinopyranoside, apigenin 6,8-di-C-α-l-arabinopyranoside and apigenin 6-C-β-d-xylopyranosyl–8-C-α-l-arabinopyranoside. Their chemical structures were elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR as well as HR-ESI-MS spectroscopic analysis. Some purified compounds were evaluated the acetylcholinesterase inhibition and cytotoxic activities against the HeLa cervical cancer cell line and the MCF-7 breast cancer cell line at the concentration of 100 μg/mL. Luteolin 7-O-β-d-glucopyranoside exhibited cytotoxic activities against both the HeLa cervical cancer cell line and the MCF-7 breast cancer cell line. Verbascoside and isoverbascoside showed strong cytotoxic activity against the MCF-7 breast cancer cell line. The tested compounds showed the AChE inhibitory activity fairly weak.  相似文献

We examined the foliar flavonoids of Chrysanthemum arcticum subsp. arcticum and yezoense, and related Chrysanthemum species. Five flavonoid glycosides (luteolin 7-O-glucoside and 7-O-glucuronides of luteolin, apigenin, eriodictyol and naringenin) were isolated from these taxa. Luteolin 7-O-xylosylglucoside, luteolin, apigenin and quercetin 3-methyl ether were found in subsp. yezoense as very minor compounds that were not recognised by high-performance liquid chromatography/photodiode array (HPLC/PDA). The related species C. yezoense contained acacetin 7-O-rutinoside and some methoxylated flavone aglycones as major compounds. Thus, C. arcticum was distinguished from C. yezoense according to their flavonoid profiles.  相似文献

This study has been aimed at providing a qualitative and quantitative evaluation of selected phytochemicals such as phenolic acids, flavonoids, oleuropein, fatty acids profile, and volatile oil compounds, present in wild olive leaves harvested in Portugal, as well as at determining their antioxidant and cytotoxic potential against human melanoma HTB‐140 and WM793, prostate cancer DU‐145 and PC‐3, hepatocellular carcinoma Hep G2 cell lines, as well as normal human skin fibroblasts BJ and prostate epithelial cells PNT2. Gallic, protocatechuic, p‐hydroxybenzoic, vanillic acids, apigenin 7‐O‐glucoside, luteolin 7‐O‐glucoside, and rutin were identified in olive leaves. The amount of oleuropein was equal to 22.64 g/kg dry weight. (E)‐Anethole (32.35%), fenchone (11.89%), and (Z)‐3‐nonen‐1‐ol (8%) were found to be the main constituents of the oil volatile fraction, whereas palmitic, oleic, and alpha‐linolenic acid were determined to be dominating fatty acids. Olive leaves methanol extract was observed to exerted a significant, selective cytotoxic effect on DU‐145 and PC‐3 cell lines. Except the essential oil composition, evaluated wild olive leaves, with regard to their quantitative and qualitative composition, do not substantially differ from the leaves of other cultivars grown for industrial purposes and they reveal considerable antioxidant and cytotoxic properties. Thus, the wild species may prove to be suitable for use in traditional medicine as cancer chemoprevention.  相似文献

Apigenin, a member of the flavone subclass of flavonoids, has long been considered to have various biological activities. Its glucosides, in particular, have been reported to have higher water solubility, increased chemical stability, and enhanced biological activities. Here, the synthesis of apigenin glucosides by the in vitro glucosylation reaction was successfully performed using a UDP-glucosyltransferase YjiC, from Bacillus licheniformis DSM 13. The glucosylation has been confirmed at the phenolic groups of C-4′ and C-7 positions ensuing apigenin 4′-O-glucoside, apigenin 7-O-glucoside and apigenin 4′,7-O-diglucoside as the products leaving the C-5 position unglucosylated. The position of glucosylation and the chemical structures of glucosides were elucidated by liquid chromatography/mass spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The parameters such as pH, UDP glucose concentration and time of incubation were also analyzed during this study.  相似文献

C-glycosylation, for the biogenesis of C-glycosylflavones, has been demonstrated to occur at the flavanone level for axenically-cultured Spirodela polyrhiza clone 7003. 4′,5,7-Trihydroxy[2-14C] flavanone (naringenin) was incorporated in a parallel manner into apigenin 7-O-glucoside and apigenin 8-C-glucoside (vitexin) and into luteolin 7-O-glucoside and luteolin 8-C-glucoside (orientin). In addition the data suggests that the enzyme which oxidizes flavanone (chalcone) to flavone is irreversible under the described experimental conditions.  相似文献

Pistachio (Pistacia vera L.; Anacardiaceae) is native of aride zones of Central and West Asia and distributed throughout the Mediterranean basin. In Italy, a pistachio cultivar of high quality is typical of Bronte (Sicily), an area around the Etna volcano, where the lava land and climate allow the production of a nut with intense green colour and aromatic taste, very appreciated in international markets. Pistachio nuts are a rich source of phenolic compounds, and have recently been ranked among the first 50 food products highest in antioxidant potential. Pistachio nuts are often used after removing the skin, which thus represents a significant by-product of pistachio industrial processing. The present study was carried out to better characterize the phenolic composition and the antioxidant activity of Bronte pistachios, with the particular aim to evaluate the differences between pistachio seeds and skins. The total content of phenolic compounds in pistachios was shown to be significantly higher in skins than in seeds. By HPLC analysis, gallic acid, catechin, eriodictyol-7-O-glucoside, naringenin-7-O-neohesperidoside, quercetin-3-O-rutinoside and eriodictyol were found both in pistachio seeds than in skins; furthermore, genistein-7-O-glucoside, genistein, daidzein and apigenin appeared to be present only in pistachio seeds, while epicatechin, quercetin, naringenin, luteolin, kaempferol, cyanidin-3-O-galactoside and cyanidin-3-O-glucoside are contained only in pistachio skins. The antioxidant activity of pistachio seeds and skins were determined by means of four different assays (DPPH assay, Folin-Ciocalteau colorimetric method and TEAC assay, SOD-mimetic assay). As expected on the basis of the chemical analyses, pistachio skins have shown to possess a better activity with respect to seeds in all tests. The excellent antioxidant activity of pistachio skins can be explained by its higher content of antioxidant phenolic compounds. By HPLC-TLC analysis, gallic acid, catechin, cyanidin-3-O-galactoside, eriodictyol-7-O-glucoside and epicatechin appeared to be responsible for the antioxidant activity of pistachio skin, together with other unidentified compounds. In conclusion, our work has contributed to clarify some particular characteristics of Bronte pistachios and the specific antioxidant power of pistachio skins. Introduction of pistachios in daily diet may be of undoubted utility to protect human health and well-being against cancer, inflammatory diseases, cardiovascular pathologies and, more generally, pathological conditions related to free radical overproduction. On the other hand, pistachio skins could be successfully employed in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry.  相似文献

Eight flavonoids were isolated from the leaves of Salix alba. One, apigenin 7-O-(4-p-coumarylglucoside), is a new natural compound; another, terniflorin, the 6-isomer, is an artefact. The flavonoids of 2 samples of Conocephalum conicum gametophyte tissue have been studied, one from U.S.A. and the other from Germany. Common to both samples were vicenin-2, lucenin-2, the 7-O-glucuronides of apigenin, chrysoeriol and luteolin and the previously unknown 7-O-glucuronide 4′-O-rhamnosides of apigenin, chrysoeriol and luteolin. Additionally the German sample contained the 7,4′-di-O-glucuronides of apigenin and luteolin and a new compound, apigenin 7-O-diglucuronide 4′-O-glucuronide. The North American sample contained, additionally, luteolin 7,3′-di-O-glucuronide, luteolin 7-O-glucuronide 3′,4′-di-O-rhamnoside (a new triglycoside) and 2 further derivatives of luteolin 7-O-glucuronide. Evidence is presented for the existence of geographic faces of C. conicum and for the qualitative invariability of the flavonoid patterns with changing season or environment.  相似文献

The flavonoid patterns of plants of Elodea canadensis, E. ernstae and E. nuttallii apigenin were investigated. The main flavonoids of E. canadensis are apeginin, luteolin and chrysoeriol 7-O-diglucuronides, of E. nuttalli apigenin and luteolin 7-O- diglucuronides, and of E. ernstae apigenin and luteonin 7-O-monoglucoronides. The qualitative stability of these flavonoid patterns is checked by chromatographic comparison of various populations from a wide area of the three species, it is shown that the flavonoid patterns are valuable criteria for the separation of these species.  相似文献

Five flavonols, four flavones and one C-glycosylflavone were isolated from the leaves of Cathcartia villosa which is growing in the Himalayan Mountains. They were characterized as quercetin 3-O-vicianoside (1), quercetin 7,4′-di-O-glucoside (3), quercetin 3-O-rutinoside (4), quercetin 3-O-glucoside (5), quercetin 3-O-arabinosylarabinosylglucoside (6) (flavonols), luteolin (7), luteolin 7-O-glucoside (8), apigenin (9), chrysoeriol (10) (flavones), and vicenin-2 (11) (C-glycosylflavone) by UV, LC-MS, acid hydrolysis, NMR and/or HPLC and TLC comparisons with authentic samples. On the other hand, two flavonols 1 and kaempferol 3-O-vicianoside (2) were isolated and identified from the flowers of the species. Flavonoids were reported from the genus Cathcartia in this survey for the first time. Their chemical characters were chemotaxonomically compared with those of related Papaveraceous genera, Meconopsis and Papaver.  相似文献

Thirty-three Sonchus, one Embergeria, one Babcockia and five Taeckholmia species were surveyed for their phenolic constituents. The coumarins scopoletin and aesculetin were found as major constituents of Embergeria, Babcockia and Taeckholmia species, and in lesser amount in some Sonchus species. Six flavone glycosides were identified: apigenin 7-glucuronide, apigenin 7-rutinoside, luteolin 7-glucoside, luteolin 7-glucuronide, luteolin 7-rutinoside and luteolin 7-glucosylglucuronide and the systematic significance of their distribution is discussed.  相似文献

The major flavonoids of Marchantia polymorpha var. polymorpha and aquatica are the 7-O-β-d-glucuronides of apigenin and luteolin, luteolin 3′-O-β-d-glucuronide, luteolin 7,3′-di-O-β-d-glucuronide, and the 7,4′-di-O-β-d-glucuronides of apigenin and luteolin. These are accompanied by minor amounts of apigenin, luteolin, luteolin 3′,4′-di-O-β-d-glucuronide and luteolin 7,3′,4′-tri-O-β-d-glucuronide. Sophora microphylla, S. prostrata and S. tetraptera are distinguishable from one another by their leaf flavonoids. S. microphylla is distinguished by the present of rhamnosylvitexin and rhamnosylisovitexin and S. tetraptera by the presence of apigenin-7-O-rhamnosylglucoside-4′-O-glucoside and the 7-O-glucosides of apigenin, 7,4′-dihydroxyflavone, luteolin and 7,3′,4′-trihydroxyflavone. Five unprecedented furan-2-carbonyl C-glycosides, scleropentasides A–E, and two phenolic diglycosides, 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzyl 4-O-β-d-xylopyranosyl-(1  6)-β-d-glucopyranoside and 2,6-dimethoxy-p-hydroquinone 1-O-β-d-xylopyranosyl-(1  6)-β-d-glucopyranoside, were isolated from leaves and twigs of Scleropyrum pentandrum together with potalioside B, luteolin 6-C-β-d-glucopyranoside (isoorientin), apigenin 8-C-β-d-glucopyranoside (vitexin), apigenin 6,8-di-C-β-d-glucopyranoside (vicenin-2), apigenin 6-C-α-l-arabinopyranosyl-8-C-β-d-glucopyranoside (isoschaftoside), apigenin 6-C-β-d-glucopyranosyl-8-C-β-d-xylopyranoside, adenosine and l-tryptophan. Structure elucidations of these compounds were based on analyses of chemical and spectroscopic data, including 1D and 2D NMR. In addition, the isolated compounds were evaluated for their radical scavenging activities using both DPPH and ORAC assays.  相似文献

The natural flavonoids luteolin and luteoloside have anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-tumour, hypolipidemic, cholesterol lowering and neuroprotective effects, but their poor water solubility limits their application in industrial production and the pharmaceutical industry. In this study, luteolin-7-O-β-(6″-O-succinyl)-d -glucoside, a new compound that was prepared by succinyl glycosylation of luteolin by the organic solvent tolerant bacterium Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FJ18 in an 8.0% DMSO (v/v) system, was obtained and identified. Its greater water solubility (2293 times that of luteolin and 12 232 times that of luteoloside) provides the solution to the application problems of luteolin and luteoloside. The conversion rate of luteolin (1.0 g l−1) was almost 100% at 24 h, while the yield of luteolin-7-O-β-(6″-O-succinyl)-d -glucoside reached 76.2%. In experiments involving the oxygen glucose deprivation/reoxygenation injury model of mouse hippocampal neuron cells, the cell viability was significantly improved with luteolin-7-O-β-(6″-O-succinyl)-d -glucoside dosing, and the expressions of the anti-oxidant enzyme HO-1 in the nucleus increased, providing a neuroprotective effect for ischemic cerebral cells. The availability of biosynthetic luteolin-7-O-β-(6″-O-succinyl)-d -glucoside, which is expected to replace luteolin and luteoloside, would effectively expand the clinical application value of luteolin derivatives.  相似文献
