Rhabdochona (Rhabdochona) parastromatei sp.n. is characterized by its relatively large body size, 16 teeth in pros tome, right spicule 0.48-0.50 mm and left 0.10-0.12 mm in length, 9–10 pairs of caudal papillae, a single adanal papilla, eggs in female 0.029-0.044 by 0.018-0.025 mm in size, and by having a marine fish host.  相似文献

A new ascarid of elasmobranchs, Terranova amoyensis sp. n., is described from the intestine of the red stringray, Dasyatis akajei (Müller and Henle), from Taiwan Strait. This is the second report from this genus with a gubernaculum in fish. The new species differs from its congeners mainly in the following combination of characters: the 3 lips are unequal in size and different in shape, i.e., the subventral lips are asymmetric bilaterally and larger than the dorsal lip; the latter lip is bilaterally symmetrical. The ventriculus is spherical, and the cecum is short relative to the esophagus. Spicules are unequal in size, 1.48 mm long for the right spicule and 1.34 mm for the left spicule, or 4.3 and 3.9% of body length, respectively. Nineteen pairs of caudal sessile papillae (excluding phasmids) are present, of which 13 pairs are precloacal; pairs 14 and 15 lie close together on either side of the cloaca, composing ad-cloacal papillae (the pair near the tail end are twins). The remaining 4 pairs of postcloacal papillae form a group near the tail tip (pair 18 also twins and near the phasmids). The gubernaculum is I-shaped. The excretory pore is located on top of a coniform prominence whose location is just behind or between the bases of the 2 subventral lips. The vulva is prominent at one-third of the anterior part of the body; the distance from the vulva opening to the anterior body end is 17.4 mm (13.61-21.41), 26.8% (25.14-28.93%) of the body length.  相似文献

Abstract

Tetrameres (Tetrameres) tarapungae n.sp. is described from specimens from the proventriculus of juvenile red-billed gulls from Kaikoura, New Zealand. The male is characterised by having two short rows of lateral cervical cuticular spines that do not extend beyond the middle of the oesophagus, a body length of 2.2–2.6 mm, and the larger spicule longer than half the body length. The male tail bears four pairs of subventral papillae and two pairs of lateral papillae. The pathology of the infections is described briefly.  相似文献

Two new species of habronematid nematodes are described in birds from the Area de Conservacion Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Torquatoides trogoni n. sp., in Trogon massena, can be distinguished from T. torquata, T. bengalensis, and T. crotophaga in lacking lateral alae. Among species lacking lateral alae, the new species differs from T. balanocephala in having 14 versus 8-10 cephalic cuticular plaques, 21-22 versus 13-17 pairs of preanal papillae, and a beak-shaped versus U-shaped gubernaculum. The new species differs from T. singhi in body length, in having 21-22 versus 10 pairs of precloacal papillae, longer spicules, and larger eggs. The new species differs from T. crotophaga, the only other species known from Central America, in lacking lateral alae, and having 14 versus 6 cephalic cuticular plaques, 21-22 versus 17 pairs of precloacal and 3 versus 2 pairs of postcloacal papillae, and a gubernaculum. Excisa ramphastina n. sp., in Ramphastos sulfuratus, can be distinguished from E. excisa, E. biloba, E. buckleyi, E. dentifera, and E. khalili in having 1 lateral ala versus none, cervical papillae anterior versus posterior to the nerve ring, and asymmetrical caudal alae. Excisa ramphastina is similar to E. curvata in having cervical papillae anterior to the nerve ring but differs in having 1 lateral ala versus none, asymmetrical caudal alae, an average spicule ratio of 1:4.4 versus 1:3.3, and 4 versus 2 pairs of sessile papillae. The new species differs from E. columbi in having 1 versus 2 lateral alae, in the length of the spicules, in having a different spicule ratio, and in the numbers of sessile papillae.  相似文献

Ascarops talpa sp. n. (Nematoda: Spirocercidae) is described from the small intestine of the Formosan mole, Talpa micrura insularis, from Taiwan. It is most similar to A. kutassi (Shul'ts, 1927) and A. tuvensis Sulimov, 1961. Ascarops kutassi differs by having a smaller ratio of left to right spicule length (1:4 vs. 1:5.5), no caudal alae, by its preanal papillae that are not equidistant from one another, and in its area rugosa which extends 1.25 mm anterior to the anus. Ascarops tuvensis differs by having a smaller ratio of left to right spicule length (1:3.8 vs. 1:5.5), by its preanal papillae that are not equidistant from one another, and in its area rugosa which covers only the ventral tip of the tail.  相似文献

Heliconema hainanensis sp. nov. collected from Uroconger lepturus (Richardson) (Anguilliformes: Congridae), Muraenesox cinereus (Forsskål) and Congresox talabonoides (Bleeker) (Anguilliformes: Muraenesocidae) in the South China Sea was described using light and scanning electron microscopy. The new species differs from its congeners by the following morphology: pseudolabia, the number and arrangement of caudal papillae (4 pairs of pedunculate precloacal papillae arranged in 2 groups of 2 and 2 pairs and 6 pairs of pedunculate postcloacal papillae arranged in 4 groups of 1, 2, 1 and 2 pairs), the length of spicules [left spicule 0.51-0.69 mm, right spicule 0.20-0.27 mm, spicule (right:left) ratio 1:2.20-2.69] and the morphology of the female tail tip. In addition, specimens of the new species collected from the three different hosts and specimens of an unidentified species of Heliconema collected from U. lepturus were characterised using molecular methods by sequencing the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) of ribosomal DNA. Analyses and comparison of the ITS sequence of H. hainanensis sp. nov. with Heliconema sp. support the validity of the new species based on morphological observations. An identification key to the species of Heliconema is also provided.  相似文献

Two new species of Diorfilaria, Dirofilaria macrodemos and Dirofilaria panamensis, are described from the subserosa of Central and South American sloths. Dirofilaria macrodemos, described from the three-toed sloth, Bradypus tridactylus, in Guyana, is characterized and differentiated from other dirofilarias by its length (female 214mm, male 64mm), relatively long tail (female 140 micron, male 110 micron), and the number and distribution of the caudal papillae (7 pairs) in the male. Dirofilaria panamensis, parasite of the two-toed sloth, Cholopeus hoffmanni, in Panama, was previously described as Dirofilaria incrassata by Caballero (1947), but can be distinguished from both D. macrodemos and D. incrassata on the basis of body size (female 66 mm long by 360 micron wide, male 34 mm long by 250 micron wide), tail length (female 80 micron, male 80 micron), and number (6 pairs) of caudal papillae in the male.  相似文献

A new species of Oswaldofilaria is described from Tropidurus torquatus (Tropiduridae: Iguania); its prevalence at the rocky study area at Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil, was approximately 30% and its mean intensity 3.13 +/- 2.51. Oswaldofilaria chaboudi n. sp. is distinct from the thirteen Oswaldofilaria species known in Australia, Africa and South-America in having the following characteristics: oesophagus medium-sized, left spicule 1 mm long and high spicular ratio (about 5), tail extremity ornated in both sexes with a bifurcated projection, and tooth-like structures near phasmids in the female. A long left spicule and high spicular ratio are convergent derived characters also found in a parasite of Australian crocodilians, O. kanbaya, and in several species of the closely related genus Befilaria, such as the Central American B. puertoricensis from polychrotids. Oswaldofilaria in South America is represented by eight species. Within these, a primitive group that is parasitic in Iguanidae, Polychrotidae (Iguania) and Crocodylidae and that possesses a long oesophagus is recognised, together with two distinct derived lines: three species with numerous, aligned precloacal papillae, parasitic in Teiidae (Laterato) and Scincidae (Scincomorpha), and O. chabaudi n. sp., in which this character is absent. Tropidurids (Tropiduris and Plica) had previously been reported in the host range of two oswaldofilarine genera, Oswaldofilaria and Piratuba, and their parasites assigned to known species described from other groups of lizards.  相似文献

Tetrameres (Tetrameres) tinamicola sp. n. is described from the crested tinamou, Eudromia elegans, of Argentina. The new species is most similar to other alate species of the subgenus Tetrameres, but it can be differentiated on the basis of its large size, length and structure of the left spicule, and arrangement of the 5 subventral and 3 sublateral pairs of postanal papillae. A review of the subgenus Petrowimeres is presented including the reassignment of several species to the subgenus Tetrameres.  相似文献

Ackertia globulosa sp. n. (Nematoda: Filarioidea) is described from the pulmonary arteries of the striped mouse, Lemniscomys striatus striatus (L.), in Kenya. Distinguishing features are the small size of the adults; the short left spicule and arrangement of the caudal papillae (3 pairs preanal, 4 pairs postanal) of the male; small projecting lobes on the tail of the females; and 10 to 12 refractile globules in the microfilarial sheath. The microfilariae are found in the skin, mostly of the ear. The probable intermediate host is a hard tick, Haemaphysalis leachi.  相似文献

Syncuaria mackoi n. sp. is described, based on light and scanning electron microscopy, from the stomach of the black stork Ciconia nigra in Bulgaria. The new species is characterised by: body length 7.18–8.30 mm (males) and 10.13–11.40 mm (females); cordons anastomosing about the level of the middle of the muscular oesophagus and consisting of delicate cuticular plates; bifurcate deirids 7–9 μm long; lateral longitudinal cuticular band-like swellings; nine pairs of pedunculate caudal papillae, i.e. four precloacal and five postcloacal, the latter forming two groups (2 + 3); sixth pair of postcloacal papillae sessile; left spicule 854–907 μm long; right spicule 138–154 μm in length, with a curved distal end resembling a horn and a short lateral projection at some distance from its tip; and vagina vera provided with an anteriorly-directed blind appendix. The specimens identified as S. ciconiae (Gil’bert, 1927) by Macko (1964) from C. nigra in Slovakia are considered as belonging to S. mackoi. A pair of small cupolae situated dorsally and ventrally between bases of cordons of the new species is described for the first time in this genus; they are recognised as homologous to the pair of spines in the same position previously described in S. diacantha Petter, 1961 and S. plegadisi Digiani, 1999.  相似文献

Lemdana latifi n. sp. was found in connective tissues around the trachea and crop and in the body-cavity of seven of 14 Malayan red jungle fowl Gallus gallus spadiceus. The new species is described and illustrated. Morphologically it is most closely related to Lemdana pavonica and Lemdana francolini. Lemdana latifi is distinguished from the eight valid species of Lemdana by the mean spicular ratio of 1.7:1; the right spicule with a right margin 18–29% (15–31 m; mean 24 m) longer than the left margin; the distal half of the left spicule twisted and S-shaped; and the absence of unpaired papillae at tip of male tail. The new species has smaller adults, a shorter left spicule and a shorter glandular oesophagus than those of L. pavonica and a wider male, shorter spicules and a longer muscular oesophagus than those of L. francolini. The male of L. latifi is 7–9 (8.1)mm long, the left spicule 164–215 (184)m long and the right spicule 98–117 (108)m long. The female is 17–23 (21)mm in length. Sheathed microfilariae from blood smears are 78–100 m long and those from the uterus are 89–103 m long. This is the sixth valid species of Lemdana in the Phasianidae.  相似文献

Mermithid nematodes, Strelkovimermis amphidis n. sp., emerged from chironomid imagos from Lake Itasca in Minnesota in the fall of 1996, 1997 and from Long Lake in the fall of 1998. The species is distinguished from the other 11 members of the genus by the long cephalic papillae, absence of an excretory pore, pointed termini in both sexes, large amphids, body diameter decrease at the vulva, long vagina, and the absence of lateral genital papillae. Strelkovimermis amphidis n. sp. is the fifth member of this genus recorded from Lake Itasca. The presence of and nature of the bursal sleeve is suggested as a useful distinguishing characteristic. The ratios involving spicule axis length, diameter of the body at the genital pore, and the length of the tail are also discussed in distinguishing species of Strelkovimermis. 新种大连滑刃线虫.Aphelenchoides dalianensis sp.nov.采自中国辽宁省大连市老铁山的枯死黑松.新种的鉴别特征为:体较短(雌虫:571.5~658.0 μm;雄虫:436.8~520.0μm),口针纤细(雌虫:10.0~12.7 μm;雄虫:9.2~11.8μm)具有基部球,侧线4条.雌虫阴门位于虫体60%~75%处,尾型特殊,具蜗牛触角状分叉的尾尖突;雄虫尾部向腹面弯曲成拐杖形,有1简单尾尖突,交合刺小(10.0~12.9μm),乳突3对,无交合伞.新种的近似种是大核滑刃线虫A.macronucleatus,主要区别在于大核滑刃线虫的雌虫仅具一简单尾尖突,雄虫加热杀死后呈"L"形,而非新种的"J"形.应用限制性酶切图谱(PCR-ITS-RFLP)的方法以及DNA测序为新种提供了分子生物学的证据.  相似文献

During a helminthological examination of marine fishes from south of the Minnan-Taiwan Bank Fishing Ground, Taiwan Strait, Fujian, China, a new cucullanid nematode, Dichelyne (Cucullanellus) jialaris n. sp., was removed from the intestine of the red seabream, Pagrus major (Temminck & Schlegel, 1834). The new species differs from its congeners mainly in the following characters: body size medium but with relative long spicules of 1.01 mm (0.97-1.06) in length or 20.0% (18.21-21.8%) of the body length; proximal end of spicules somewhat expanded and distal end rounded; gubernaculum I-shaped, slightly narrow in the middle part, both ends rounded; both anterior and posterior cloaca lips round or oval, prominent and unequal in size. The anterior cloaca lip is at least 2 times larger than the posterior one. There is a conspicuous papilliform structure within the central of anterior and posterior cloacal lip. Vulva of female is not prominent, slightly postequatorial; distance from vulva to anterior end of body is 4.3 (3.0-5.5) mm or 58.0% (54.0-62.0%) of the body length. Considering the result of comparing the structure of so-called unpaired median papilla with the 10 pairs of caudal petiolated papillae in the body of the same individual. the papilliform structures are just a backstop for the cloacal lips, this new species represents the first record of a nematode of the Dichelyne, subgenus Cucullanellus in marine fishes of China Sea.  相似文献

Molinacuaria indonesiensis n. sp. from the stomach of Rattus argentiventer, the ricefield rat, in Sukamandi, Java, Indonesia is described and figured from the examination of seven males and three females. The species is separated from the three other species of the genus, namely, M. bendelli (Adams & Gibson, 1969) Wong & Lankester, 1985, M. acholonui (Schmidt & Kuntz, 1972) Wong & Lankester, 1985 and M. gallinulae (Wang, 1966) Wong & Lankester, 1985. The species is characterised by (i) the larger body measurements, (ii) the presence of a fold rather than a deep groove separating the anterior cephalic region and the ptilina which form four distinct shields, (iii) the morphology of the four ptilina, each one being tripartite with a pointed middle section twice as long at the two lateral sections (iv) the number of papillae on the posterior end of the male (two pairs pre-cloacal, four pairs post-cloacal), (v) the morphology of the left spicule, and (vi) the female tail being straight with a terminal knob.  相似文献

One cestode and 3 species of nematodes are recorded from Pseudohydromys murinus and Pseudohydromys occidentalis (Muridae: Hydromyinae), from Papua New Guinea, for the first time. Heterakis fieldingi (Ascaridida: Heterakidea) has previously been known from Australia. Odilia sp. resembles Odilia praeputialis in the orientation of the synlophe and the number and size of ridges but differs in the length of spicule and lack of a praepuce. Protospirura kaindiensis n. sp. Rhabdochona guerreroensis n. sp. is described on the basis of specimens recovered from the intestine of Sicydium multipunctatum (Regan) (Gobiidae, Perciformes) from 2 localities in Mexico. This species is characterized by 12 teeth in the prostom (occasionally 11), asymmetrical numbers of postanal papillae, a broad distal tip of the larger (left) spicule with a small bifurcation covered by narrow cuticular membrane, a smaller (right) spicule with a dorsal barb on its distal tip, and filamented eggs.  相似文献
