In order to improve the luminescent performance of silicate blue phosphors, Sr(1.5‐x)‐(1.5y)Mg0.5SiO4:xEu2+,yCe3+ phosphors were synthesized using one‐step calcination of a precursor prepared by chemical co‐precipitation. The crystal structure and luminescent properties of the phosphors were analyzed using X‐ray diffraction and fluorescence spectrophotometry, respectively. Because the activated ions (Eu2+) can occupy two different types of sites (Sr1 and Sr2), the emission spectrum of Eu2+ excited at 350 nm contains two single bands (EM1 and EM2) in the wavelength range 400–550 nm, centered at 463 nm, and the emission intensity first increases and then decreases with increasing concentrations of Eu2+ ions. Co‐doping of Ce3+ ions can greatly enhance the emission intensity of Eu2+ by transferring its excitation energy to Eu2+. Because of concentration quenching, a higher substitution concentration of Ce3+ can lead to a decrease in the intensity. Meanwhile, the quantum efficiency of the phosphor is improved after doping with Ce3+, and a blue shift phenomenon is observed in the CIE chromaticity diagram. The results indicate that Sr(1.5‐x)‐(1.5y)Mg0.5SiO4:xEu2+,yCe3+ can be used as a potential new blue phosphor for white light‐emitting diodes.  相似文献

Hierarchical nanostructures with highly exposed active surfaces for high‐performance pseudocapacitors have attracted considerable attention. Herein, a one‐step growth of (Ni xCo1?x)9Se8 solid solution series in various conductive substrates as advanced electrodes for flexible, foldable supercapacitors is developed. The formation of (NixCo1?x)9Se8 solid solution is confirmed by Vegard's law. Interestingly, the as‐grown (NixCo1?x)9Se8 solid solution series spontaneously crystallized into nanodendrite arrays with hierarchical morphology and fractal feature. The optimized (Ni0.1Co0.9)9Se8 nanodendrites deliver a specific capacitance of 3762 F g?1 at a current density of 5 A g?1 and remains 94.8% of the initial capacitance after 5000 cycles, owing to the advantage from fractal feature with numerous exposed () surface as well as fast ion diffusion. The as‐assembled flexible (Ni0.1Co0.9)9Se8@carbon fiber cloth (CFC)//PVA/KOH//reduced graphene oxide@CFC device exhibits an ultrahigh energy density of 17.0 Wh kg?1@ 3.1 kW kg?1, outperforming recently reported pseudocapacitors based on nickel‐cobalt sulfide and selenide counterparts. This study provides rational guidance toward the design of fractal feature with superior electrochemical performances due to the significantly increased electrochemical active sites. The resulting device can be easily folded, pulled, and twisted, enabling potential applications in high‐performance wearable and gadget devices.  相似文献

This paper reports the effect of particle size on the thermoluminescence (TL) of undoped ZnS nanoparticles. ZnS nanoparticles were prepared using a chemical precipitation method in which mercaptoethanol was used as the capping agent. The nanoparticles were characterized by X‐ray diffraction, field emission gun‐scanning electron microscopy and high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy. When the concentrations of mercaptoethanol used are 0, 0.005, 0.01, 0.015, 0.025, 0.040 and 0.060 M, the sizes of the nanoparticles are 2.86, 2.81, 2.69, 2.40, 2.10, 1.90 and 1.80 nm, respectively. Initially, the TL intensity of UV‐irradiated ZnS nanoparticles increases with temperature, attains a peak value Im for a particular temperature Tm, and then decreases with further increases in temperature. The values of both Im and Tm increase with decreasing nanoparticle size. Whereas the activation energy decreases slightly with decreasing nanoparticle size, the frequency factor decreases significantly as the nanoparticle size is reduced. The order of kinetics for the TL glow curve of ZnS nanoparticles is 2. Expressions are derived for the dependence of activation energy (Ea) and Tm on nanoparticle size, and good agreement is found between the experimental and theoretical results. High‐quality CdxZn1 – xSe and CdxZn1 – xSe/ZnS core/shell quantum dots (QDs) emitting in the violet–green spectral range have been successfully prepared using hydrothermal methods. The obtained aqueous CdxZn1 – xSe and CdxZn1 – xSe/ZnS QDs exhibit a tunable photoluminescence (PL) emission (from 433.5 nm to 501.2 nm) and a favorable narrow photoluminescence bandwidth [full width at half maximum (FWHM): 30–42 nm]. After coating with a ZnS shell, the quantum yield increases from 40.2% to 48.1%. These CdxZn1 – xSe and CdxZn1 – xSe/ZnS QDs were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray diffraction, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. To further understand the alloying mechanism, the growth kinetics of CdxZn1 – xSe were investigated through measuring the fluorescence spectra and X‐ray diffraction spectra at different growth intervals. The results demonstrate that the inverted ZnSe/CdSe core/shell structure is formed initially after the injection of Cd2+. With further heating, the core/shell structured ZnSe/CdSe is transformed into alloyed CdxZn1 – xSe QDs with the diffusion of Cd2+ into ZnSe matrices. With increasing the reaction temperature from 100 °C to 180 °C, the duration time of the alloying process decreases from 210 min to 20 min. In addition, the cytotoxicity of CdxZn1 – xSe and CdxZn1 – xSe/ZnS QDs were investigated. The results indicate that the as‐prepared CdxZn1 – xSe/ZnS QDs have low cytotoxicity, which makes them a promising probe for cell imaging. Finally, the as‐prepared CdxZn1 – xSe/ZnS QDs were utilized to ultrasensitively and selectively detect Hg2+ ions with a low detection limit (1.8 nM).  相似文献

The Eu2+‐induced enhancement of defect luminescence of ZnS was studied in this work. While photoluminescence (PL) spectra exhibited 460 nm and 520 nm emissions in both ZnS and ZnS:Eu nanophosphors, different excitation characteristics were shown in their photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectra. In ZnS nanophosphors, there was no excitation signal in the PLE spectra at the excitation wavelength λex > 337 nm (the bandgap energy 3.68 eV of ZnS); while in ZnS:Eu nanophosphors, two excitation bands appeared that were centered at 365 nm and 410 nm. Compared with ZnS nanophosphors, the 520 nm emission in the PL spectra was relatively enhanced in ZnS:Eu nanophosphors and, furthermore, in ZnS:Eu nanophosphors the 460 nm and 520 nm emissions increased more than 10 times in intensity. The reasons for these differences were analyzed. It is believed that the absorption of Eu2+ intra‐ion transition and subsequent energy transfer to sulfur vacancy, led to the relative enhancement of the 520 nm emission in ZnS:Eu nanophosphors. In addition, more importantly, Eu2+ acceptor‐bound excitons are formed in ZnS:Eu nanophosphors and their excited levels serve as the intermediate state of electronic relaxation, which decreases non‐radiative electronic relaxation and thus increases the intensity of the 460 nm and 520 nm emission dramatically. In summary, the results in this work indicate a new mechanism for the enhancement of defect luminescence of ZnS in Eu2+‐doped ZnS nanophosphors. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The luminescence properties of praseodymium (Pr3+) ion in potassium bromide (KBr) host have been investigated. The excitation bands observed in the region 220–300 nm are attributed to the transitions from 4f level to the 5d crystal field splitting levels of Pr3+ ion. Emission bands originated due to transition of 3P23H6 (564 nm), 3P03H6 (604 nm), 1D23P4 (721 nm) and 3P03F2 (659 nm) have been observed. Optical absorption, photoluminescence (PL) and thermoluminescence (TL) studies confirms the trivalent state of Pr3+ ion in KBr host. Trap parameters for the TL glow curve have been calculated and the values are tabulated by using Chen's peak shape method. The lattice cell parameters of Pr3+ doped KBr single crystals are a = b = c = 6.596 Å, α = β = γ = 90°. From the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrograph analysis, the particle size ranges from a few micrometres to 5 μm. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrum exhibits two resonance signals at magnetic fields of 2895 and 3106 gauss with g‐values of 2.32 and 2.16, respectively, calculated using Lande's formula.  相似文献

The direct effect of the four catecholamines (adrenaline, noradrenaline, dopamine and isoproterenol) on superoxide anion radicals () was investigated. The reaction between 18‐crown‐6‐ether and potassium superoxide in dimethylsulfoxide was used as a source of . The reactivity of catecholamines with was examined using chemiluminescence, reduction of nitroblue tetrazolium and electron paramagnetic resonance spin‐trapping techniques. 5,5‐Dimethyl‐1‐pyrroline‐N‐oxide was included as the spin trap. The results showed that the four catecholamines were effective and efficient in inhibiting chemiluminescence accompanying the potassium superoxide/18‐crown‐6‐ether system in a dose‐dependent manner over the range 0.05–2 mm in the following order: adrenaline > noradrenaline > dopamine > isoproterenol, with, IC50 = 0.15 ± 0.02 mm 0.21 ± 0.03 mm , 0.27 ± 0.03 mm and 0.50 ± 0.04 mm , respectively. The catecholamines examined also exhibited a strong scavenging effect towards when evaluated this property by the inhibition of nitroblue tetrazolium reduction (56–73% at 1 m concentration). A very similar capacity of scavenging was monitored in the 5,5‐dimethyl‐1‐pyrroline‐N‐oxide spin‐trapping assay. The results suggest that catecholamines tested may involve a direct effect on scavenging radicals. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Cerium‐doped Sr4Al14O25 phosphor is prepared using a single‐step combustion synthesis and its X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), photoluminescence (PL) and thermoluminescence (TL) properties are characterized. XRD reveals the formation of the desired phase in the prepared sample. SEM micrographs of the prepared Sr4Al14O25 phosphor show that the particle size is 10 µm. The prepared Sr4Al14O25, along with Sr4Al14O25:Cex (x = 0.5–5 mol%) shows a PL emission peak at 314 nm under UV excitation of 262 nm wavelength due to 5d → 4f transition. The phosphor is suitable for higher concentrations of Ce ions. The TL glow peak reveals three clearly visible distinct peaks at temperatures around 130, 231 and 336ºC. The three peaks are separated by deconvolution and kinetic parameters calculated using Chen's peak shape method. The calculation shows that the reaction follows second‐order kinetics with activation energy (E) values of 0.52, 0.81 and 1.12 eV, and frequency factor (s) values of 5.58 × 105, 4.53 × 107 and 4.57 × 108 s‐1 for the three individual peaks. A series of controllable emissions SrWO4:Eu3+ and charge‐compensated SrWO4: (m = 0.01 or 0.20) phosphors was successfully prepared via a simple co‐precipitation method. The energy transfer mechanism was studied based on the Huang's theory. A low magnitude of Huang‐Rhys factor (10?2) was calculated using phonon sideband spectra. The Judd–Ofelt parameters Ωλ (λ = 2, 4 and 6) of Eu3+‐activated SrWO4 doped with charge compensation were obtained. The calculated Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage chromaticity coordinates were found to be about (0.67, 0.33) for SrWO4: and charge‐compensated SrWO4: phosphors, which coincided with the National Television Standard Committee system standard values for red. A white light emission was obtained under 362 nm excitation. The correlated color temperature was computed by a simple equation to characterize light sources. Thus, warm white light‐emitting diodes with higher Ra can be constructed by combining as‐prepared high efficiency, low correlated color temperature and high color purity phosphor.  相似文献

This article reports on the optical properties of Er3+ ions doped CdO–Bi2O3–B2O3 (CdBiB) glasses. The materials were characterized by optical absorption and emission spectra. By using Judd–Ofelt theory, the intensity parameters Ωλ (λ = 2, 4, 6) and also oscillatory strengths were calculated from the absorption spectra. The results were used to compute the radiative properties of Er3+:CdBiB glasses. The concentration quenching and energy transfer from Yb3+–Er3+ were explained. The stimulated emission cross‐section, full width at half maximum (FWHM) and FWHM × values are also calculated for all the Er3+:CdBiB glasses. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Copper‐doped zinc sulfide (ZnS:Cu) nanoparticles with varying concentrations of capping agent were prepared using a chemical route technique. These particles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy and X‐ray diffraction (XRD). Optical absorption studies showed that the absorption edge shifted towards the blue region as the concentration of the capping agent increased. Using effective mass approximation, calculation of the nanoparticle size indicated that effective band gap energy increases with decreasing particle size. The thermoluminescence (TL) properties of sodium hexameta phosphate (SHMP)‐passivated ZnS:Cu nanoparticles were investigated after UV irradiation at room temperature. The TL glow curve of capped ZnS:Cu showed variations in TL peak position and intensity with the change in capping agent concentration. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra of ZnS:Cu nanoparticles excited at 254 nm exhibited a broad green emission band peaking around 510 nm, which confirmed the characteristic feature of Zn2+ as well as Cu2+ ions as the luminescent centres in the lattice. The PL spectra of ZnS:Cu nanoparticles with increasing capping agent concentrations revealed that the emission becomes more intense and shifted towards shorter wavelengths as the sizes of the samples were reduced. Zr1−xCexO2 with x = 0.005, 0.01, 0.02, and 0.03 samples were synthesized using a combustion technique. The X-ray diffraction results revealed that Ce-doped ZrO2 nanoparticles were in a monoclinic structure up to 1 mol% Ce concentration. The increase in the Ce concentration caused more distortion in the monoclinic structure of zirconia. The samples showed a mixed phase (monoclinic + tetragonal) beyond 1 mol% Ce content. The crystallite size (D) and strain (ε) were calculated from the Williamson–Hall equation. The D decreased from 25 ± 1 to 20 ± 1 nm and ε increased from 0.03 to 0.28% with an increase in Ce concentration. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra of Zr1−xCexO2 showed emission in the blue region under an excitation wavelength of 290 nm. Zr0.995Ce0.005O2 showed the highest PL intensity with an average lifetime of 0.93 μs, and the PL intensity decreased with the increase in the Ce concentration. Thermoluminescence (TL) glow curves of Zr1−xCexO2 were measured after gamma irradiation (500 Gy) with a heating rate of 5 K s−1. The TL curve of Zr0.995Ce0.005O2 showed two prominent peaks at 412 K (peak 1) and 600 K (peak 2). The first TL glow peak was shifted towards a higher temperature at 440 K above 1 mol% Ce concentration. Repetitive TL measurements on the same aliquot exhibited excellent repeatability. Kinetic parameters associated with the TL peaks were calculated using the curve fitting method. Peak 1 followed non-first-order kinetics. The value of the activation energy of the 440 K peak was found to be 0.95 ± 0.01 eV for Zr0.99Ce0.01O2. These findings showed that Zr1−xCexO2 might be used in lighting and radiation dosimeter applications.  相似文献

Thanks to the understanding of the relationships between the residence lifetime τM of the coordinated water molecules to macrocyclic Gd‐complexes and the rotational mobility τR of these structures, and according to the theory for paramagnetic relaxation, it is now possible to design macromolecular contrast agents with enhanced relaxivities by optimizing these two parameters through ligand structural modification. We succeeded in accelerating the water exchange rate by inducing steric compression around the water binding site, and by removing the amide function from the DOTA‐AA ligand [1,4,7,10‐tetraazacyclododecane‐1,4,7,10‐tetraacetic acid mono(p‐aminoanilide)] ( L ) previously designed. This new ligand 10[2(1‐oxo‐1‐p‐propylthioureidophenylpropyl]‐1,4,7,10‐tetraazacyclodecane‐1,4,7‐tetraacetic acid ( L 1 ) was then covalently conjugated to API [O‐(aminopropyl)inulin] to get the complex API ‐(GdL 1 )x with intent to slow down the rotational correlation time (τR) of the macromolecular complex. The evaluation of the longitudinal relaxivity at different magnetic fields and the study of the 17O‐NMR at variable temperature of the low‐molecular‐weight compound ( GdL 1 ) showed a slight decrease of the τM value ( = 331 ns vs.  = 450 ns for the Gd L complex). Consequently to the increase of the size of the API ‐(GdL 1 )x complex, the rotational correlation time becomes about 360 times longer compared to the monomeric GdL 1 complex (τR = 33,700 ps), which results in an enhanced proton relaxivity.  相似文献

A low temperature-assisted and oxalyl dihydrazide fuel-induced combustion synthesized series of uncalcined MgAl2O4:Eu3+ nanophosphors showed an average crystallite size of ~20 nm, and bandgap energy (Eg) of 4.50–5.15 eV, and were validated using density functional theory and found to match closely with the experimental values. The photoluminescence characteristic emission peaks of Eu3+ ions were recorded between 480 and 680 nm. The nanophosphors excited at 392 nm showed f–f transitions assigned as 5D07FJ (J = 0, 1, 2, and 3). The optimized MgAl2O4 phosphors had Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage coordinates in the red region, a correlated colour temperature of 2060 K, and a colour purity of 98.83%. The estimated luminescence quantum efficiency ( η) was observed to be ~63% using Judd–Ofelt analysis. Electrochemical and photocatalytic performance were explored and indicated its multifunctional applications. Therefore, MgAl2O4:Eu3+ nanophosphors could be used for the fabrication of light-emitting diodes, industrial dye degradation, and as electrodes for supercapacitor applications.  相似文献

Free radical activity towards superoxide anion radical (), hydroxyl radical (HO?) and 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH?) of a series of novel thiazolidine‐2,4‐dione derivatives (TSs) was examined using chemiluminescence, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and EPR spin trapping techniques. 5,5‐Dimethyl‐1‐pyrroline‐N‐oxide (DMPO) was applied as the spin trap. Superoxide radical was produced in the potassium superoxide/18‐crown‐6 ether dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide. Hydroxyl radical was generated in the Fenton reaction (Fe(II) + H2O2. It was found that TSs showed a slight scavenging effect (15–38% reduction at 2.5 mmol/L concentration) of the DPPH radical and a high scavenging effect of (41–88%). The tested compounds showed inhibition of HO? ‐dependent DMPO‐OH spin adduct formation (the amplitude of EPR signal decrease ranged from 20 to 76% at 2.5 mmol/L concentration. Our findings present new group compounds of relatively high reactivity towards free radicals. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

ZnS:Mn nanoparticles were prepared by a chemical precipitation method and characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), field emission gun scanning electron microscope (FEGSEM), and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Capping agent (mercaptoethanol) concentrations used were 0 M, 0.005 M, 0.01 M, 0.015 M, 0.025 M, 0.040 M, and 0.060 M, and resulted in nanoparticles sizes of 2.98 nm, 2.9 nm, 2.8 nm, 2.7 nm, 2.61 nm, 2.2 nm and 2.1 nm, respectively. The thermoluminescence (TL) glow curve was recorded by heating the sample exposed to UV‐radiation, at a fixed heating rate 1°C sec–1. The TL intensity initially increased with temperature, attained a peak value Im for a particular temperature, and then decreased with further increase in temperature. The peak TL intensity increased with decreasing nanoparticle size, whereas the temperature corresponding to the peak TL intensity decreased slightly with reducing nanocrystal size. As a consequence of increase in surface‐to‐volume ratio and increased carrier recombination rates, the TL intensity increased with decreasing nanoparticle size. It was found that, whereas activation energy slightly decreased with decreasing nanoparticle size, the frequency factor decreased significantly with reduction in nanoparticle size. Here, unbiased water splitting with 2% solar‐to‐hydrogen efficiency under AM 1.5 G illumination using new materials based on GaSb0.03P0.97 alloy is reported. Freestanding GaSbxP1?x is grown using halide vapor phase epitaxy. The native conductivity type of the alloy is modified by silicon doping, resulting in an open‐circuit potential (OCP) of 750 mV, photocurrents of 7 mA cm?2 at 10 sun illumination, and corrosion resistance in an aqueous acidic environment. Alloying GaP with Sb at 3 at% improves the absorption of high‐energy photons above 2.68 eV compared to pure GaP material. Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy and illuminated OCP measurements show that the conduction band of GaSbxP1?x is at ?0.55 V versus RHE irrespective of the Sb concentration, while photocurrent spectroscopy indicates that only radiation with photon energies greater than 2.68 eV generate mobile and extractable charges, thus suggesting that the higher‐laying conduction bands in the Γ 1 valley of the alloys are responsible for exciton generation.  相似文献

BaGd2‐xO4:xEu3+ and Ba1‐yGd1.79‐2yEu0.21Na3yO4 phosphors were synthesized at 1300°C in air by conventional solid‐state reaction method. Phosphors were characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectra, photoluminescence (PL) spectra and thermoluminescence (TL) spectra. Optimal PL intensity for BaGd2‐xO4:xEu3+ and Ba1‐yGd1.79‐2yEu0.21Na3yO4 phosphors at 276 nm excitation were found to be x = 0.24 and y = 0.125, respectively. The PL intensity of Eu3+ emission could only be enhanced by 1.3 times with incorporation of Na+ into the BaGd2O4 host. Enhanced luminescence was attributed to the flux effect of Na+ ions. However, when BaGd2O4:Eu3+ phosphors were codoped with Na+ ions, the induced defects confirmed by TL spectra impaired the emission intensity of Eu3+ ions. A rapid, simple, selective and precise fluorimetric method was developed and validated for determination of a selective xanthine oxidase inhibitor; febuxostat (FBX) in pharmaceutical formulations and in human plasma. The proposed method is based on quenching effect of FBX on the fluorescence intensity of terbium (Tb3+) through fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) from Tb3+ to FBX. The formed complex was measured at λex. 320 nm/λem. 490 nm against a reagent blank. Fluorescence intensity of Tb3+ was diminished when FBX was added. A linear relationship between the fluorescence quenching value of the formed complex and the concentration of FBX was investigated. The reaction conditions and the fluorescence spectral properties of the complex have been studied. The linearity range of the developed method was 1.0–16.0 μg/ml. The suggested method was applied successfully for the estimation of FBX in bulk powder, dosage forms and spiked plasma samples with excellent recoveries (96.79–98.89%). In addition, the developed method has been successfully applied for determination of FBX in real plasma samples collected from healthy volunteers with good recoveries (82.06–85.65%). All obtained results of the developed method were statistically analyzed and validated according to ICH (International Conference on Harmonization) guidelines.  相似文献

Samples of the Ba9(Lu2‐xYx)Si6O24:Ce3+ (x = 0–2) blue‐green phosphors were synthesized by solid‐state reactions. All the samples exhibited a rhombohedral crystal structure. As the Y3+ concentration increased, the diffraction peaks shifted to the small angle region and the lattice parameters increased due to the larger ionic radius of Y3+ (r = 0.900 Å) compared with that of Lu3+ (r = 0.861 Å). Under 400 nm excitation, samples exhibited strong blue‐green emissions around 490 nm. The emission bands had a slight blue shift that resulted from weak crystal‐field splitting with increasing Y3+ concentration. Luminescence intensity and quantum efficiency (QE) decreased with increasing Y3+ concentration. The internal QE decreased from 74 to 50% and the external QE decreased from 50 to 34% as x increased from 0 to 2. The thermal stability of the Lu series was better than that of the Y‐series. The excitation band peak around 400 nm matched well with the emission light from the efficient near‐ultraviolet (NUV) chip. These results indicate promising applications for these NUV‐based white light‐emitting diodes.  相似文献
