This study investigates intra- and inter-generic variation in the chaetotaxy pattern of members of the Gyrodactylidae and compares these data with those from other monogenean groups elucidated by other workers. The staining of surface sensillary structures has revealed areas of homology between the two genera Gyrodactylus and Ooegyrodactylus, which have markedly contrasting modes of reproduction. Although species specific maps have been elucidated for members of the genus Gyrodactylus, no evolutionary trends in their sensillary patterns could be determined. Members of the family Gyrodactylidae are shown to possess a cluster of 3 × 2 sensilla, similar in their size and arrangement to the post-ocular (spo) cluster of sensilla in polyopisthocotyleans, although on the opposite surface. A comparable cluster of sensilla is lacking in monopisthocotyleans. This information gathered from chaetotaxy supports the proposal that the order Gyrodactylidea is close to the polyopisthocotylean line of monogenean evolution.  相似文献

The antennal morphology and chaetotaxy were studied in 52 species of the endogean carabid genus Typhlocharis, using scanning electron microscopy and light microscopy. The antennae are composed of 11 antennomeres (scape, pedicel, and nine flagellomeres). We found considerable variation between species in the third antennomere, with short‐stem and long‐stem forms, and flagellomere morphology, distinguishing two morphs: rounded (subovoid, subspheric and subquadrate, morph 1) and reniform shapes (morph 2). Antennal sensilla are grouped in six types of sensilla trichodea, three types of sensilla basiconica, one type of sensilla coeloconica, and one type of sensilla campaniformia. The distribution of sensilla along the antennomeres is described. The “rings” of trichoid sensilla in the antennomere body are affected by its shape and there is interspecific variation in the pattern of sensilla coeloconica in antennomere 11°, a novelty for the genus. The types of sensilla found in Typhlocharis are compared to those described in other Carabidae and the potential functionality and taxonomic interest of those variable antennal features are discussed. A correlation between the flagellomere morphology and the presence/absence of a stridulatory organ is suggested. In this paper, we describe the new genus Pauropygus gen. n. which includes three minute species, blind and unpigmented, living in interstitial littoral habitats in tropical or subtropical countries. Two of these species are new to science (type species Pauropygus projectus sp. n. from New Caledonia and Pauropygus pacificus sp. n. from China); the third one, originally described in the genus Cryptopygus (Cryptopygus caussaneli Thibaud, 1996), has a larger pantropical distribution. We synonymize here Cryptopygus riebi Barra, 1997 from South Africa with Pauropygus caussaneli. Two paratypes of the Mexican species Cryptopygus axayacatl Palacios & Thibaud, 2001 turned also to be Pauropygus caussaneli, while the holotype and remaining paratypes of this species support its placement in Proisotomodes. Among the Cryptopygus complex, Pauropygus gen. n. is easily recognized by characters of mouthparts (presence of two large projections on pleural fold, basolateral field with 6 chaetae, modified mouthparts) and reduced sensillar chaetotaxy (tergal sensilla 2-3,0-1/0-1,0-1,1-2,1-2,1-3, microsensilla reduced in number: 00/0-100, with sensilla situated in p-row on the abdomen). Small size, absence of eyes and pigment are also shared by all its species. The three species belonging to the genus differ by sensillar chaetotaxy.  相似文献

获得蜚蠊目昆虫触角感受器外部形态的资料,为蟑螂的系统学研究积累一些新的基础资料.使用KYKYAMRAY 1000B型扫描电镜蜚蠊目8种昆虫触角感受器进行观察和拍照,然后进行比较分析.观察结果表明,蜚蠊目昆虫的触角均分布有毛形感器、刺形感器和锥形感器.蜚蠊目昆虫触角感受器的外部形态在科、属水平表现的差异程度与昆虫的分类地位相符合.触角感受器的形态结构也许能成为鉴别蜚蠊目科和属的有用特征.  相似文献

The total diversity of the monogenean genus Gyrodactylus is evaluated. There are 409 potentially valid species names within the genus, recorded from c. 400 host species. Five species have been placed within Fundulotrema and an additional 51 Gyrodactylus species names represent synonyms, nomina nuda or have been reassigned to other non-viviparous monogenean genera. While the majority of Gyrodactylus species (59%) are recorded from single hosts, some have a much broader broad range.  相似文献

The chaetotaxy of Codonocephalus urniger (Rudolphi, 1819) cercariae recovered from Lymnaea palustris in a brackish water lake in Bulgaria is described and figured. Comparisons with Diplostomum spathaceum (Rudolphi, 1819) and D. pseudospathaceum Niewiadomska, 1984 cercariae indicate a similar general pattern in the distribution of sensilla but with marked differences in their number and arrangement on the ventral sucker, tail stem and furcae. Data on the chaetotaxy of other diplostomid species are used to reveal the similarities and variations in some complexes within the members of Diplostomidae with known cercarial chaetotaxy.  相似文献

Keys to four known species of the genus Dermacentor from Siberia and Far East of the USSR are based on their nymphs and larvae. Analysis of laboratory cultures served as a basis for distinguishing differential characters of preimaginal phases. Stability of characters in the distribution area of each species was verified on natural material from many geographical localities. A wide range of structures was used for species identification as follows: peculiarities of scutum, peritreme, anal valve, organs of gnathosoma, chaetotaxy and morphometrical characteristics and ratios. Keys can be used for identifying species from the European part of the USSR and north-eastern Kazakhstan.  相似文献

Silver nitrate staining was used to investigate the number and arrangement of argentophillic structures (epidermal plates, sensilla, excretory pores) of three species of strigeid miracidia, Ichthyocotylurus erraticus (Rudolphi, 1809), I. variegatus (Creplin, 1825) and Apatemon gracilis (Szidat, 1928). The epidermal plates of all three species of miracidia were arranged in four tiers according to the formula (6 + 9 + 4 + 3) = 22, while the number and distribution of sensilla were also found to be identical. Modifications to the nomenclature of Dimitrov et al. (1989) for miracidial chaetotaxy are proposed.Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was also employed to examine the surface structures of deciliated miracidia of Ichthyocotylurus spp., confirming the position and revealing the form of body sensilla.  相似文献

The pollination of the genus Arum (Araceae) is mainly achieved by deception, the floral odour mimicking the pollinator ovipositing site. In order to discover the sensory organs involved in this attraction, we have studied the antennae of five species of psychodine moth-flies (former Psychoda sensu lato=Psychodini), pollinators of Arum spp. The antennae of the five Psychodini reveal seven types of sensilla: multiporous tribranched sensilla basiconica (sensilla ascoidea), multiporous sensilla basiconica, multiporous sensilla coeloconica, multiporous sensilla auricillica, uniporous sensilla basiconica, aporous sensilla chaetica, aporous Böhm’s sensilla. Each species possesses three, five or six of these sensillum types. All the multiporous sensilla are probably olfactory receptors while the uniporous sensilla basiconica must possess a contact chemoreceptive function. The multiporous tribranched sensilla basiconica (s. ascoidea), present in all the species, are the best candidates for the reception of the odours given off by the ovipositing sites and the inflorescences of Arum. The multiporous sensilla basiconica and the multiporous sensilla coeloconica may be involved respectively as CO2 receptors or thermoreceptors. Psychoda phalaenoides, which is the main pollinator of A. maculatum, is the species which possesses the largest number of antennal sensilla. The sexual dimorphism, studied only in Psycha grisescens, as concerns the number of sensilla and the absence of a sensillum type which differ according to sex, is difficult to interpret.  相似文献

Abstract  The Australian subgenus Sinella ( Sinella ) Brook is revised. Two species are recognised. A new species from New South Wales and South Australia, Sinella ( Sinella ) samueli , is described and the widely distributed species Sinella ( Sinella ) termitum Schött is redescribed based on examination of a specimen from the type series and fresh collections from a wide range of localities in south-eastern Australia. The key for identification of species of the genus Rhipicephalus (the fauna of the USSR) on the larval phase is based on the material reared under laboratory conditions. The structure of scutum, organs of gnathosoma and coxae, chaetotaxy of idiosoma and gnathosoma were used for differential diagnosis. In addition morphometric characteristics of the above structures and their proportions were used. A special attention has been given to coexistence of species in sympatric zones, which was revealed or confirmed as a result of identification of species of the genus on larva in the ranges of the fauna of the USSR.  相似文献

Systematic studies on the family Phytoseiidae were first conducted at the beginning of the 20th century but increased greatly after the Second World War. Various classifications have been proposed based on different characters such as: dorsal, ventral, and leg chaetotaxy; the shape of ventrianal and sternal shields; the shape of the insemination apparatus (spermatheca) and spermatodactylus; the number of teeth on the movable digit of chelicera; and dorsal and ventral adenotaxy. The genus concepts developed over the last five decades can be divided into two main categories or hypotheses. The first, supported mainly by Chant and McMurtry, focuses on dorsal and ventral chaetotaxy, and the genera so defined usually include a great number of species. The second category, proposed by Athias‐Henriot, considers the shape of the insemination apparatus as the key character, and the genera so defined usually include a limited number of species. From a diagnostic point of view, both classifications have a valid structure, but the question investigated herein was: which of the two classifications or hypotheses fits phylogenetic evolution? To answer this, we conducted molecular phylogenetic analyses (using the genes ITS and 12S rRNA) on the genus Neoseiulus, which has been subjected to classification based on the two main genus concepts. The results showed that the first hypothesis (Chant and McMurtry) leads to polyphyly of the genus Neoseiulus, while the second (Athias‐Henriot) leads to paraphyly of the genus. The results show that acarologists who first decided that the insemination apparatus was of evolutive importance could be correct as the shape of the insemination apparatus seems to better fit evolutive clades than dorsal and ventral chaetotaxy. The morphology of this organ, however, must be more accurately studied to better define homologies. The study of gill and skin parasites of three fishes species belonging to the genus Clarias: C. camerunensis, C. jaensis and C. pachynema, from the Nyong basin (Cameroon), revealed the presence of two new Monogenean species of the genus Gyrodactylus Nordmann: G. camerunensis n. sp. and G. nyongensis n. sp. parasite of Clarias camerunensis, C. jaensis and C. pachynema. Gyrodactylus camerunensis n. sp. is clearly distinguished from G. nyongensis n. sp. by the smaller size of the haptor sclerites. These two new species differ also from their closest African relatives of the genus Gyrodactylus, G. rysavyi, G. clarii and G. alberti, by the morphology and size of the haptorail sclerites. Details of the segmental chaetotaxy of the legs of 47 species of Uropodina are given. On the basis of the ontogenetic development of the chaetotaxy, the Uropodina may be divided into two groups which coincide with the concepts of the Lower (Polyaspidoidea) and Higher (Uropodoidea) Uropodina of certain authors. Chaetotactic criteria do not support the classification of the Polyaspidini and Trachyuropodini sensu Hirschmann and Z-Nicol within the Oplitinae Hirschmann & Z-Nicol, the Diarthrophallini within the Uroactiniinae Hirschmann & Z-Nicol or the genus Trachytes within the Uropodini.

用扫描电镜观察了1种软蜱和4属8种硬蜱的成虫以及血蜱属3种若虫的须肢感器的外部形态;同时用透射电镜观察了波斯锐缘蜱、中华革蜱和亚洲璃眼蜱3种成虫须肢感器的内部结构.结果表明,须肢感器的外部形态在硬蜱各属成虫之间存在着一定的差异,主要表现在感器形状、顶端感毛数目、类型及形态,基部感毛数目及形态等几个方面.同属各种间差异不大.血蜱属幼期和波斯锐缘蜱幼期之间也有一定的差异,主要表现在感器形状、顶端感毛数目以及基部感毛数目、形态和排列方式.须肢顶端感毛的内部结构在三种蜱中都可分为A、B两种类型.A型具两个腔:其一为圆形腔,内有树突;另一为新月形腔,无树突.靠近感毛顶端有通道通向外界.B型感毛在三种蜱中差异较大,其共同点是只具有一个含有树突的腔.  相似文献

Traditionally, zooplankton studies have been carried out on larger species and later developmental stages, at least in the case of copepods. This fact is due to the difficulty of distinguishing between all the morphologically very similar species and genus, especially at immature stages. Nowadays, however molecular techniques allow us to discriminate these species easily. We have developed a RFLP (Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism) technique to distinguish between the species of the genus Clausocalanus which are present at our study zone, the Central Cantabrian Sea. This genus belongs to the “small” fraction of mesozooplankton (500-200 μm), and it has been scarcely studied even though it is an important component of the mesozooplankton. This technique allows identification of individuals and from small body parts.  相似文献
