Fe deficiency was imposed by omission of Fe (-Fe), or by inclusion of bicarbonate (supplied as 20 mM NaHCO3) in the nutrient solution in two contrasting peach rootstocks (GF-677; tolerant to Fe deficiency and Cadaman; sensitive to Fe deficiency) for 4 months. In the Fe-deprived leaves and roots, and especially in those treated with bicarbonate, a decrease in Fe concentrations was recorded. Omission of Fe resulted in an increase of the activity of root Fe(III)-chelate reductase (FCR) in both rootstocks, whereas FCR activity decreased in the bicarbonate-treated roots of Cadaman. The results obtained from the FCR assay were confirmed by an agarose-based staining technique used to localize FCR activity. Also, an agar-pH-test revealed that the roots of GF-677 exposed to (-Fe) treatment induced a strong H+ extrusion. In addition, Fe deficiency resulted in reduction of the total chlorophyll (CHL) content. Apart from the (-Fe)-treated leaves of GF-677, Fe deficiency caused a decline in the photosynthetic rate (P(n)) and stomatal conductance (g(s)), without changes of the intercellular CO2 concentration (C(i)), as well as a reduction in the maximum quantum yield of PSII (F(v)/F(m)) and the ratio between variable to initial fluorescence F(v)/F0. The above changes were particularly evident for the bicarbonate-treated leaves of Cadaman. On the other hand, Fe deficiency resulted in an increase of leaf superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and a depression of catalase (CAT) activity in the leaves and roots, irrespective of the rootstock. Although the non-enzymatic antioxidant activity (FRAP values) was increased in the roots of both rootstocks exposed to -Fe treatment, however, FRAP values were stimulated in the (-Fe)-treated leaves of GF-677 and decreased in the bicarbonate-treated leaves of Cadaman. The H2O2 content was increased in Fe-deprived tissues except for the (-Fe)-treated leaves and roots of GF-677. As a result of Fe deficiency, peroxidase (POD) activity and isoform expression were diminished in the tissues of Cadaman. However, in the tissues of GF-677 subjected to -Fe treatment POD activity was increased whereas an additional POD isoform was detected in the roots suggesting that expression of POD isoforms might be an important attribute linked to the tolerance to Fe deficiency.  相似文献

Ethylene concentration in the culture tubes of peach rootstock regenerants of three genotypes (Cadaman, GF-677, Myrobalan 29C) was increased by the inclusion of 20 µM salicylic acid (SA), methionine (METH) and ethephon (ETH) in the MS medium whereas it was decreased in regenerants exposed up to 20 µM AgNO3. In leaves of the regenerants the increase of ethylene concentration was accompanied with an increase of non-enzymatic antioxidant activity while remarkable genotype-depended changes in the activities of catalase, peroxidase and their isoenzymes were recorded suggesting that ethylene accumulation imposes oxidative stress responses. However, the results showed that some differences could be observed in the activity of isoenzymes in regenerants exposed to SA in respect to METH and ETH-treated ones.A. Heavy metal-contaminated sites are excellent areas to examine the antioxidative machinery responsible for physiological adaptations of many plant species.Superoxide dismutase (SOD), guaiacol peroxide (GPX), ascorbate peroxide (APX), catalase (CAT) activity and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) content were analyzed in leaves and roots of Viola tricolor (Viola) from contaminated soils (‘Bukowno’, ‘Saturn’, ‘Warpie’ heaps), and non-contaminated soil (‘Zakopane meadow’) to examine the level of oxidative stress and antioxidative response. In leaves, six isoforms of SOD were recognized. Roots possessed two additional bands, named manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD)-like form (MnSODI) and Cu/ZnSOD-like form (Cu/ZnSODIV). The H2O2 content in leaves ranged from 554 to 5 098 μmol H2O2/g f.w. and was negatively correlated with CAT activity. The non-contaminated population was characterized by the lowest CAT activity combined with the highest H2O2 concentration. Two isoforms of CAT, CAT-1 and CAT-2, were recognized in leaves of plants from non-contaminated and contaminated sites, respectively. In roots of individuals from two heaps (‘Warpie’ and ‘Saturn’), two distinct bands for each CAT isoform were observed. A slower migrating band may be an aggregate, exhibiting CAT and MnSODs activities. Both peroxidases (APX and GPX) presented the same pattern of activity, depending on the organ, indicating that in leaves and roots APX and GPX were regulated in parallel.Differences in enzyme activities and H2O2 content between plants from different contaminated sites were statistically significant, but were tightly maintained at a very similar level. Prolonged and permanent heavy metal stress evoked a very similar mode of antioxidative response in specimens of analyzed metalliferous populations not causing measurable oxidative stress. Thus, our results clearly indicate that V. tricolor is a taxon well adapted to heavy metal-contaminated soils, and that differences in enzyme activities and H2O2 content result from adjustment of plants to a variety of conditions.  相似文献

Morpho-physiological and biochemical responses of Arabidopsis thaliana (accession N1438) to bicarbonate-induced iron deficiency were investigated. Plants were grown in cabinet under controlled conditions, in a nutrient solution containing 5 μM Fe, added or not with 10 mM NaHCO3. After 30 days, bicarbonate-treated plants displayed significantly lower biomass, leaf number and leaf surface area as compared to control plants, and slight yellowing of their younger leaves was observed. Potassium (K+) content was not modified by bicarbonate treatment in roots, whereas it was significantly diminished in shoots. Their content in ferrous iron (Fe2+) and in leaf total chlorophylls was noticeably lower than in control plants. Root Fe(III)-chelate reductase and phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPC) activities were significantly enhanced, but leaf ribulose 1.5-bisphosphate carboxylase (Rubisco) activity was decreased.  相似文献

Peach is an important stone fruit crop cultivated at commercial scale in Pakistan. While, appropriate selection of rootstock has significant impact on the quality of peach fruit. Therefore, in the current study the influence of three rootstocks viz. ‘GF-677′, ‘Peshawar Local’ and ‘Swat Local’ were evaluated on the quality of ‘Flordaking’ peaches following cold storage during two consecutive years. The fruit from these rootstocks were kept at 0 °C for five weeks were studied for various fruit physical (weight loss, colour, firmness) and biochemical (pH, soluble solids content (SSC), titratable acidity (TA), SSC:TA ratio, fruit juice pH, sugars (total, reducing and non-reducing sugars), ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and free radicals scavenging activities) were evaluated. During both years, fruit harvested form trees grafted on ‘GF-677′ exhibited reduced fruit weight loss, changes in Chroma (C*) and highest fruit firmness, Lightness (L*), ascorbic acid contents and radical scavenging activities as compared to fruit harvested from tree grafted on other rootstocks. In conclusion, the post-harvest quality of scion ‘Flordaking’ peach fruit was significantly influenced and best quality can be obtained when it is grafted on ‘GF-677′ rootstock.  相似文献

Can elevated CO(2) improve salt tolerance in olive trees?   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
We compared growth, leaf gas exchange characteristics, water relations, chlorophyll fluorescence, and Na+ and Cl concentration of two cultivars (‘Koroneiki’ and ‘Picual’) of olive (Olea europaea L.) trees in response to high salinity (NaCl 100 mM) and elevated CO2 (eCO2) concentration (700 μL L−1). The cultivar ‘Koroneiki’ is considered to be more salt sensitive than the relatively salt-tolerant ‘Picual’. After 3 months of treatment, the 9-month-old cuttings of ‘Koroneiki’ had significantly greater shoot growth, and net CO2 assimilation (ACO2) at eCO2 than at ambient CO2, but this difference disappeared under salt stress. Growth and ACO2 of ‘Picual’ did not respond to eCO2 regardless of salinity treatment. Stomatal conductance (gs) and leaf transpiration were decreased at eCO2 such that leaf water use efficiency (WUE) increased in both cultivars regardless of saline treatment. Salt stress increased leaf Na+ and Cl concentration, reduced growth and leaf osmotic potential, but increased leaf turgor compared with non-salinized control plants of both cultivars. Salinity decreased ACO2, gs, and WUE, but internal CO2 concentrations in the mesophyll were not affected. eCO2 increased the sensitivity of PSII and chlorophyll concentration to salinity. eCO2 did not affect leaf or root Na+ or Cl concentrations in salt-tolerant ‘Picual’, but eCO2 decreased leaf and root Na+ concentration and root Cl concentration in the more salt-sensitive ‘Koroneiki’. Na+ and Cl accumulation was associated with the lower water use in ‘Koroneiki’ but not in ‘Picual’. Although eCO2 increased WUE in salinized leaves and decreased salt ion uptake in the relatively salt-tolerant ‘Koroneiki’, growth of these young olive trees was not affected by eCO2.  相似文献

Pigments, chlorophyll fluorescence, dark respiration, and the antioxidant system in the shaded peel of green ‘Anjou’ pear (Pyrus communis L.) and its bud mutation, red ‘Anjou’, were compared in response to high peel temperature, high light alone or in combination to determine the protective role of anthocyanins under high temperature with or without light. Under high temperature treatment alone, no difference in the maximum quantum yield of PSII (FV/FM) was detected between red ‘Anjou’ and green ‘Anjou’; the superoxide dismutase activity and the glutathione pool were up-regulated in green ‘Anjou’ peel but remained unchanged in red ‘Anjou’ peel. Under high temperature coupled with high light, the FV/FM of green ‘Anjou’ peel was decreased to a lower value than that of red ‘Anjou’, and significant interaction was detected between temperature and light for both cultivars. Furthermore, the difference in FV/FM between red ‘Anjou’ and green ‘Anjou’ under high temperature coupled with high light was significantly larger than that under high light alone, indicating that this larger difference was caused by the interaction between high temperature and high light as no significant difference was detected in FV/FM between the two cultivars under high temperature treatment alone at any sampling point. It is concluded that the elevated anthocyanin level in the shaded peel of red ‘Anjou’ does not alter its thermotolerance in the dark, but makes it more tolerant of high temperature under high light.  相似文献

Iron chlorosis is an important problem in peach trees, but differences exist between peach rootstocks in their tolerance to Fe chlorosis in calcareous soils. The purpose of this investigation was to characterize the tolerance of different rootstocks to Fe chlorosis induced by bicarbonate in nutrient solution. The rootstocks studied included peach (Nemaguard), plums (Brompton, San Julian A and Puebla de Soto 101) and almond × peach hybrids (Adafuel and GF677). Young plants obtained from rooted cuttings or from in vitro culture techniques were grown individually, under controlled conditions, in flasks with 700 mL of aerated nutrient solution low in iron and with or without 10 mM bicarbonate or 10 mM phosphate. Susceptiblity to bicarbonate-induced chlorosis was inversely correlated with both the Fe content in young leaves and the reducing capacity of roots, but not with the phosphorus content in young leaves. The plum Puebla de Soto 101 and the hybrid GF677 showed the lowest degree of chlorosis and the highest reducing capacity. Phosphate did not induce chlorosis.  相似文献

Expression of the gene (OsCA1) coding for carbonic anhydrase (CA) in leaves and roots of rice was induced by environmental stresses from salts (NaCl, NaHCO3 and Na2CO3), and osmotic stress (10%, w/v, PEG 6000). CA activity of rice seedlings more than doubled under some of these stresses. Transgenic Arabidopsis over-expressing OsCA1 had a greater salt tolerance at the seedling stage than wild-type plants in 1/2 MS medium with 5 mM NaHCO3, 50 mM NaCl, on 100 mM NaCl. Thus CA expression responds to environmental stresses and is related to stress tolerance in rice.  相似文献

Mouse peritoneal macrophages activated by bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) were incubated with human α2-macroglobulin converted to its ‘fast’ form with either trypsin or methylamine before being stimulated with phorbol myrystate acetate. Both α2-macroglobulin-trypsin and α2-macroglobulin-methylamine inhibited macrophage production of superoxide anion (O2) while native α2-macroglobulin had little effect except at high concentration. The α2-macroglobulin ‘fast’ forms, which bind with a Kd of about 8 nM, inhibited 50% generation of O2(ID50) at a concentration of 7 nM while α2-macroglobulin inhibited O2 production with an ID50 of 141 nM. The ‘fast’ forms of α2-macroglobulin may play a role in the feedback regulation of inflammatory reactions.  相似文献

In our study, one-month-old Melissa officinalis plants were subjected to Fe-deficiency treatments, such as 10 µM Fe (as direct iron deficiency, DD), and 30 µM Fe + 10 mM NaHCO3 + 0.5 g l?1 CaCO3 (as indirect iron deficiency, ID), and 30 µM Fe (as control) for 14 d. Both Fe-deficiency types reduced plant growth, photosynthetic pigment contents, an active Fe content in roots and leaves, root Fe(III)-reducing capacity, Fe-use efficiency, maximal quantum yield of PSII photochemistry, a ratio of variable to basic fluorescence, and activities of antioxidant enzymes, while they increased lipid peroxidation and a H2O2 content in leaves. These effects were more pronounced in plants exposed to ID with bicarbonate than those of DD plants. We showed that sodium nitroprusside (SNP), as NO donor, could ameliorate the adverse effects of bicarbonate on above traits. The methylene blue, as NO blocker, reversed the protective effects conferred by SNP in the ID-treated plants as well as DD plants. These findings suggests that NO protects photosynthesis and growth of IDtreated plants as well as DD plants by contribution in availability and/or delivery of metabolically active iron or by changing activities of reactive oxygen species-scavenging enzymes.  相似文献

A collection of bacterial strains obtained from a wide-range origin was screened for ability to promote growth in two types of Prunus rootstocks in a commercial nursery. Only few strains promoted growth significantly and consistently, and a strong specificity for the rootstock cultivar was observed. Irrigation of plants with Pseudomonas fluorescens EPS282 and Pantoea agglomerans EPS427 significantly increased plant height and root weight of the plum Marianna 2624 and the peach–almond hybrid GF-677, respectively. Plant height showed a higher rate of growth in early stages of development (2.6–3.5 times the non-treated controls), but the effect decreased with plant age. However, in aged plants growth promotion was more significant on root weight (1.9 times the non-treated controls) than on plant height. The efficacy of growth promotion and the persistence of strains in the root environment were dependent on the bacterial inoculum concentration applied. Increases in root development were maximum at inoculum concentrations of up to 8 log10 CFU ml–1 (ca 10 log10 CFU L–1 of potting mix). Population levels at the optimum inoculum concentration were around 7 log10 CFU g f.w.–1 root material at early stages of development and decreased to 4 log10 CFU g f.w.–1 after several months of development. The best plant growth-promoting strains were very diverse in secondary metabolite production and antagonistic ability against several plant pathogens.  相似文献

Induction of plant allelochemicals is of particular ecological importance for interactions with herbivores that can make use of induced metabolites by incorporating them for their own defence. Induction patterns in white mustard, Sinapis alba, were investigated following herbivory of the turnip sawfly, Athalia rosae, which sequesters plant glucosinolates. Larvae of different age were allowed to feed for 24 h on young leaves of premature, non-flowering plants. Changes in primary and secondary metabolites were recorded in the damaged leaves (local) and in the adjacent leaves and stems (systemic) for several days. Organ- and time-specific patterns were evident. Local responses included increases in glucosinolate concentrations, soluble and insoluble myrosinase activity and glucose levels, while systemic responses in leaves were restricted to increases in myrosinase activities and glucose. All effects were strongest immediately after feeding and declined mostly within a day. Stems had overall lower constitutive levels of glucosinolates and myrosinase activities than leaves. Feeding by one large larva had a greater impact on the plant's physiology than feeding by three small ones, even though both treatments resulted in quantitatively similar leaf destruction. Local increase in glucosinolate concentration could be beneficial for larvae, while conspecifics feeding on induced adjacent leaves might be negatively affected due to higher myrosinase activity levels. The results are discussed in the context of the ‘optimal defence theory’ and the ‘lethal plant defence paradox’.  相似文献

Hydroponically grown Hawkeye soybeans with N supplied as NO 3 did not show any measurable pH decrease of the nutrient solution during the first week of Fe deficiency as has been observed for other Fe-efficient dicotyledonous species. Only after prolonged Fe stress with no renewal of the nutrient solution could an unspecific pH reduction be measured as a consequence of a decrease in the NO 3 content of the solution. On the other hand, Fe stress induced H+ efflux could be localized at the root tip region by day foru of-Fe treatment when intact plants were transferred from the nutrient solution to agar medium containing the pH indicator dye bromocresol purple. However, the activity of this H+ pump obviously was too weak to neutralize HCO3-ions simultaneously excreted from older root parts and to acidify the bulk nutrient solution. Thus no remobilization of iron precipitated on older parts of the roots occurred and the plants remained chlorotic.Electron microscopy of the H+ extruding zone revealed hypodermal transfer cells with wall protuberances surrounded by cytoplasm especially rich in mitochondria. No transfer cells occurred in the rhizodermis as seen in other Fe-efficient dicots. Some cortical cells also showed transfer cell features with wall protuberances in the intercellular spaces. Often wall ingrowths were surrounded by a periplasmic space which reduced the potential surface amplification of the plasma membrane. It is concluded that the weak capacity of Hawkeye soybeans for Fe stress-induced H+ extrusion correlates with their less intense wall labyrinth formation as compared with other dicotyledonous species with higher Fe efficiency.  相似文献

Responses of two Prunus rootstocks to KCl induced salinity in vitro   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The in vitro response of two Prunus rootstocks: GF 677 (Prunus persica × Prunus amygdalus), and Nemared (Prunus persica) to increasing concentrations of KCl of the culture medium was studied. Shoots were grown in vitro for 8 weeks on an Murashige and Skoog medium supplemented with 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 40 or 80 mM KCl. By increasing KCl concentration from 0 to 40 mM, the number of shoots per explant was not significantly affected for both rootstocks. However, Nemared rootstock formed more shoots per explant than GF 677 under respective KCl concentrations of the medium. Inclusion of 80 mM KCl in the medium resulted in a reduction of growth of both rootstocks. Sodium, Fe, Mn, and Zn concentration in tissues of Nemared rootstock were significantly higher than the respective values of GF 677.  相似文献

Among the most important quality parameters of irrigation water used for greenhouse crops, alkalinity of water is considered critical due to its impact on soil or growing medium solution pH. In this study, plant growth, Fe content, photosynthetic pigment content, maximal quantum yield of PSII photochemistry (Fv/Fm), performance index (PI), leaf relative water content (LRWC), and soluble sugars concentration were investigated in nongrafted and grafted tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. cv. Red stone) plants onto five rootstocks of eggplant (Solanum melongena cv. Long purple), datura (Datura patula), orange nightshade (Solanum luteum Mill.), local Iranian tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum), and field tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. cv. Cal.jn3), exposed to 0, 5, and 10 mM NaHCO3 concentrations, to determine whether grafting could improve alkalinity tolerance of tomato. Significant depression of leaf area, leaf and stem dry mass, shoot and root Fe content and LRWC under high NaHCO3 level was observed in both grafted and ungrafted plants. The highest reduction in the shoot Fe content was observed at 10 mM sodium bicarbonate in control plants (greenhouse tomato). Moreover, at high HCO3 ? level, the highest percentage of LRWC reduction was also recorded in ungrafted plants. Values of Fv/Fm and PI decreased significantly at 5 and 10 mM NaHCO3 irrespective of rootstock type. The present study revealed that soluble sugars content, photosynthetic pigments content, Fv/Fm and PI values in plants grafted onto datura rootstock were higher than those in nongrafted and rest of the grafted plants. Thus, the use of datura rootstock could provide a useful tool to improve alkalinity tolerance of tomato plants under NaHCO3 stress.  相似文献

A chicken pectoralis muscle membrane fraction enriched in a Mg2+- or Ca2+-activated (‘basic’) ATPase was obtained by sucrose gradient centrifugation. Enzymatic properties of the ‘basic’ ATPase were determined and used to localize its enzymatic activity in situ by ultrastructural cytochemistry. The enzyme was activated by Mg2+ or Ca2+ but not by Sr2+, Ba2+, Co2+, Ni2+ or Pb2+. It was present in a membranous fraction with a buoyant density of 1.10-1.12 (24–27.5% (w/w) sucrose). ‘Basic’ ATPase activity had a sedimentation pattern similar to the putative plasma membrane enzymes, 5′-nucleotidase and leucyl β-naphthylamidase, but different from that of sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ ATPase. Also unlike sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ ATPase, ‘basic’ ATPase was resistant to N-ethylmaleimide and aldehyde fixatives, was active in a medium containing a high Ca2+ concentration (3 mM), and was lost when exposed to Triton X-100 or deoxycholate. In cytochemical studies, a low Pb2+ concentration was used to capture the enzymatically released phosphate ions. Under conditions which eliminated interfering (Na+ + K+) ATPase and sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ ATPase activities, electron-dense lead precipitates were present at the plasmalemma and T-system membranes. These studies suggest that ‘basic’ ATPase activity is associated with plasmalemma and T-system membranes of skeletal muscle.  相似文献

Leaf physiological and biochemical adaptive strategies and more particularly the possible involvement of polyamines and polyphenols in salt stress tolerance were investigated. Three almond rootstocks (GN15, GF677 and bitter almond) were subjected to 0, 25, 50 and 75 mM NaCl for 30 days. The dry mass of leaves, stems and roots decreased with increasing salt concentration in the irrigation solution regardless of genotype. Photosynthetic assimilation rate decreased in the three almond rootstocks, but more so in GF677 and bitter almond. The accumulation of toxic ions was greater in the leaves than in the roots in all genotypes. GN15 accumulated less Na+ and Cl than GF677 and bitter almond. GF677 accumulated polyphenols, but had less anthocyanin and antioxidant activity in its leaves compared to bitter almond. It seems that GN15 was more able to tolerate the excess of toxic ions using anthocyanins which are abundant in its red leaves and free polyamines for a more efficient response to stress. However, most of the antioxidant activity was found in the leaves and was lower in the roots. Given that the upper part of the tree will be of a different cultivar after grafting, this advantage may not be relevant for the tree’s survival. GF677 showed a different antioxidant strategy; it maintained a stable carotenoids content and accumulated polyphenols in its leaves. The three rootstocks used different strategies to deal with the excess of salt in the growth medium.  相似文献

Comparative studies on the effect of nitrogen (N) form on iron (Fe) uptake and distribution in maize (Zea mays L. cv Yellow 417) were carried out through three related experiments with different pretreatments. Experiment 1: plants were precultured in nutrient solution with 1.0×10–4 M FeEDTA for 6 d and then exposed to NO3–N or NH4–N solution with 1.0×10–4 M FeEDTA or without for 7 d. Experiment 2: plants were precultured with 59FeEDTA for 6 d and were then transferred to the solution with different N forms, and 0 and 1.0×10–4 M FeEDTA for 8 d. Experiment 3: half of roots were supplied with 59FeEDTA for 5 d and then cut off, with further culturing in treatment concentrations for 7 d. In comparison to the NH4-fed plants, young leaves of the NO3-fed plants showed severe chlorosis under Fe deficiency. Nitrate supply caused Fe accumulation in roots, while NH4–N supply resulted in a higher Fe concentration in young leaves and a lower Fe concentration in roots. HCl-extractable (active) Fe was a good indicator reflecting Fe nutrition status in maize plants. Compared with NO3-fed plants, a higher proportion of 59Fe was observed in young leaves of the Fe-deficient plants fed with NH4–N. Ammonium supply greatly improved 59Fe retranslocation from primary leaves and stem to young leaves. Under Fe deficiency, about 25% of Fe in primary leaves of the NH4-fed plants was mobilized and retranslocated to young leaves. Exogenous Fe supply decreased the efficiency of such 59Fe retranslocation. The results suggest that Fe can be remobilized from old to young tissues in maize plants but the remobilization depends on the form of N supply as well as supply of exogenous Fe.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the synergistic hepatoprotective effect of lignans from Fructus Schisandrae chinensis (LFS) with Astragalus polysaccharides (APS) on chronic liver injury in male Sprague-Dawley rats. Subcutaneous injection of 10% CCl4 twice a week for 3 months resulted in significantly (p<0.001) elevated serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), asparate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activities compared to controls. In the liver, significantly elevated levels (p<0.001) of malondialdehyde (MDA), lowered levels of reduced glutathione (GSH) (p<0.05) and catalase (CAT) (p<0.001), superoxide dismutase (SOD) (p<0.01)were observed following CCl4 administration. ‘LFS+ASP’ treatment of rats at doses of ‘LFS (45 mg/kg)+APS (150 mg/kg)’ and ‘LFS (135 mg/kg)+APS (450 mg/kg)’ displayed hepatoprotective and antioxidative effects than the administration of either LFS or APS, as evident by lower (p<0.005 or 0.001) levels of serum ALT, AST, ALP and hepatic MDA (p<0.001) concentration, as well as higher SOD (p<0.05 or 0.005), CAT activities(p<0.01 or 0.005), GSH concentration (p<0.05 or 0.005) compared to the toxin treated group. Histopathological examinations revealed severe fatty degeneration in the toxin group, and mild damage in groups treated with ‘LFS+APS’ were observed. The coefficients drug interaction (CDI) between each individual drug and their combination (at the same dose of their single treatment) of these foregoing parameters were all less than 1, indicating that LFS and APS display hepatoprotective and antioxidant properties and act in a synergistic manner in CCl4 induced liver injury in rats.  相似文献
