The olfactory responses of the native parasitoids Doryctobracon areolatus (Szépligeti) and Asobara anastrephae (Muesebeck) and of the exotic parasitoid Diachasmimorpha longicaudata (Ashmead) to guava (Psidium guajava L.) infested or not with fruit fly larvae were evaluated. D. areolatus and D. longicaudata females responded to the odors of uninfested rotting guavas, although D. areolatus was also attracted to fruits at the initial maturation (turning) stage. The females of these species recognized the volatiles of guavas containing Ceratitis capitata (Wied.) larvae. However, in bioassays involving fruits with larvae of different instars, D. longicaudata females were not able to separate between fruits containing C. capitata larvae at the initial instars and larvae at the third instar. In the evaluations of volatiles released by guavas containing C. capitata and Anastrepha fraterculus (Wied.) larvae, the D. longicaudata females were oriented toward the volatiles of fruits containing both host species, but differed significantly from volatiles of guavas containing C. capitata larvae. The D. areolatus females also showed responses to both species, although with a preference for volatiles of fruits containing A. fraterculus larvae. The A. anastrephae females were oriented toward the odors of fruits infested with both fruit fly species. In the shade house, D. longicaudata females were oriented to volatiles of rotting fruits containing larvae or not, but could not significantly differentiate between hosts. D. areolatus females were not attracted toward fruits on the ground in the shade house, regardless of host, suggesting that this parasitoid does not forage on fallen fruits.  相似文献

Essential oils extracted from 17 higher plants belonging to different families were screened against Botryodiplodia theobromae and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides causing stem end rot disease and anthracnose disease in mango respectively. The essential oil of Eupatorium cannabinum was found to be fungitoxic in nature against both the mango-rotting fungi. Eupatorium oil was standardized through physico-chemical and fungitoxic properties. Gas Liquid Chromatography (GLC) analysis of the oil led to the identification of 16 components, which represented 77.97% of the oil. Germacrene D (16.11%) was found to be the major component. The oil showed a broad fungitoxic spectrum and was recorded to be more efficient than some synthetic fungicides. The oil also showed an inhibitory effect on pectinase and cellulase enzymes. The oil enhanced the shelf life of mango fruits by protecting from fungal rotting when tested as a fumigant. The LD50 of Eupatorium oil was found to be 22.01 ml/kg body weight on mammalian mice.  相似文献

Summary In Costa Rica individual Hamelia patens trees produce fruit throughout the year and experience dramatic changes in rates of fruit removal and rotting. During some moths, most fruits rot because they are not removed. Rotting fruits increase the probability that other fruits on the same infructescence will rot. When removal rates are high, fruits are taken as soon as their seeds become viable but before the fruit is completely ripe. Experimental removal of fruits produced significantly higher ripening rates than on control infructescences. This response allows Hamelia to ripen more fruit and increase the number of fruits taken when dispersers are abundant (e.g., during migration). The proximate mechanism of this response probably includes reallocation of energy conserved when partially ripe fruits are removed. Responding to fluctuating disperser populations likely increases dispersal success and may function as the ultimate cause.  相似文献

Heterais exul, previously known from Brazil and Argentina, was collected from a number of lakes and streams in the Lakes Region of Chile (between Valdivia and Puerto Montt). It was found in a wide variety of habitats: on leaf litter, detritus, algae, rotting wood, emergent vegetation, and clean sandy bottoms. Heterias, Pseudasellus, and Fritzianira are placed in synonymy, but Fritzianira is maintained as a subgenus of Heterias because of its lack of an antenna) scale. The 3 Australian species of Heterias and H. exul are believed to have evolved from a common freshwater Gondwanaland ancestor.  相似文献

Biosteres arinsanus (Sonan) (=B. oophilus Fullaway) showed a strong preference forDacus dorsalis Hendel overCeratitis capitata (Wiedemann) in choice tests using papaya fruits infested with eggs of both hosts in laboratory studies. The yeast Cryptococcus albidus, originally isolated from mature strawberry fruits, was tested for antagonistic activity against Botrytis cinerea, the causal agent of grey mould in strawberries. Conidial germination and germ tube growth of conidia of B. cinerea were inhibited by a cell suspension of the antagonist in aqueous strawberry fruit pulp suspension (1%) after 6 and 24 hours of incubation. Application of a cell suspension (1 × 106 cells/ml) on detached strawberry leaf disks incubated at 10°C reduced incidence and conidiophore density of B. cinerea by 86 and 99%, respectively, but effectiveness was reduced at higher temperatures. Treatments with C. albidus during bloom of strawberries reduced incidence of grey mould on ripe strawberry fruits after harvest by 33, 28 and 21% in three years of field trials. The effectiveness of the yeast was increased when formulation substances (alginate, xanthan and cellulose) were added to the cell suspension.  相似文献

Here we describe a new species ofCorydalis sectCorydalis (Fumariaceae), namely C.hirtipes B.U. Oh et J.G. Kim. This species, from the central part of Korea, is clearly distinguished from other species of sectCorydalis by its simple, unicellular hairs that are densely distributed on the stems, peduncles, and petioles. It is also distinctive from its close relative C.albipetala in having ternate leaves, lobate or parted leaflets, dentate or cleft bracts, and broad, fusiform fruits.  相似文献

作者研究团队先前从酸枣果的氯仿提取物中精制得到其低极性范围的活性组合物Fr.2a,发现Fr.2a与多种抗生素联用显示出广泛的协同抗菌作用。该研究在Fr.2a的基础上利用硅胶柱层析对酸枣果氯仿提取物中其他极性范围内的活性成分进行了分离纯化,得到精制物Fr.B,并对精制物Fr.B进行GC MS、核磁共振氢谱、红外光谱分析,以确定Fr.B的组成成分;通过抗菌谱分析和细胞通透性分析,以明确Fr.B的抗菌增效谱和抗菌增效机制;采用熔和法将精制物Fr.B制备成软膏,通过小鼠伤口感染模型评价该软膏对抗生素的增效效果。结果表明:(1)由酸枣果氯仿提取物进一步精制得到的Fr.B组分,主要包含反油酸、油酸、顺 10 十六碳烯醇、棕榈酸等脂肪酸类化合物。(2)Fr.B分别与庆大霉素、妥布霉素、氨苄青霉素、氯霉素、红霉素、夫西地酸、制霉菌素、酮康唑和两性霉素B等多种抗生素联用时显示出广泛的协同抗菌作用。(3)Fr.B可破坏细胞膜和细胞壁的完整性而增强细菌细胞的通透性。(4)在体内和体外Fr.B均能显著增强红霉素对耐甲氧西林金黄色葡萄球菌(MRSA)的杀菌作用,从而提高红霉素对MRSA菌株引起的伤口感染的治疗效果。研究表明,本研究所得到的Fr.B具有广谱的抗菌增效活性,能够增强红霉素对伤口耐药菌感染的治疗效果。该研究结果为克服微生物对抗生素的耐药性提供了新的思路和解决方案。  相似文献

Experimental self-, cross- and interspecific pollinations were carried out inBulbophyllum weddellii, B. involutum andB. ipanemense (Orchidaceae). The last two species are closely related, butB. weddellii is somewhat more distant. The three species are self-compatible, with pollination by a vector necessary for fruit formation. In all crossing types, high rates of fruit abortion and formation of seeds without embryos were observed, particularly in interspecific crosses that involvedB. weddellii. Crosses between the more closely relatedB. involutum andB. ipanemense produced fruit formation rates and seed viability similar to those obtained in intraspecific crosses. These results agree with current hypotheses that suggest that interspecific crossing rates reflect phylogenetic proximity. Examination of pollen tube growth and aborted fruits suggests that a series of factors may be involved in the high abortion rate for fruits and large proportion of seeds without embryos. The low interspecific fertility noted forB. weddellii andB. involutum is important in the maintenance of isolation between these species that are sympatric, flower in the same period and share the same pollinators.  相似文献

Localization and changes in the activity of -glucosidase were investigated in wheat caryopsis and glumes infected with Stagonospora nodorum as well as in lily ovaries and harvested tomato fruits both inoculated with Botrytis cinerea. It was established that the pathogen invasion caused splitting of wheat seed coat, xylem blocking in lily carpel and decay in tomato fruits. B. cinerea invasion evoked disorders of the embryogenesis accompanied by a decreased activity of -glucosidase in all ovules. The activity of the enzyme was not changed considerably in wheat seeds as the infection occurred in the late embryonal stages and the embryonal processes were not affected. In the seeds of harvested tomatoes distant from the invaded area the enzyme activity was not changed as well.  相似文献

To date, information is wanting with regard to the use of new exotic parasitoids against olive fruit fly, Bactrocera (=Dacus) oleae (Gmelin) (Diptera: Tephritidae), a serious pest of olives Olea europaea L., in the Mediterranean basin. We investigated the oviposition response and developmental biology on B. oleae of Fopius (=Biosteres) arisanus (Sonan) (=Opius oophilus Fullaway) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), an egg-pupal parasitoid of tephritid fruit flies, never tested before as a potential parasitoid of this host. Our results showed that olive fruits infested with B. oleae eggs exerted a relevant attraction to gravid F. arisanus and represented a stimulus for oviposition. Nevertheless they were not as attractive to female parasitoids as the Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann (Diptera: Tephritidae), eggs infested papaya fruits (Carica papaya L.). In our experimental conditions, F. arisanus completed development in B. oleae within 33 ± 1.7 days (males) and 35 ± 1.6 (females). Increases in host egg to female parasitoid ratios of 1:1, 5:1, 10:1 and 20:1 corresponded with decreases in the percentage of B. oleae parasitisation and host killing but corresponded also with increases in absolute parasitisation. Our findings are discussed in light of possibilities of utilising F. arisanus for biological control of olive fruit fly.  相似文献

The microecology of Blastomyces dermatitidis, the dimorphic etiologic agentof the potentially fatal systemic fungal infection, blastomycosis, is not well defined.Blastomyces dermatitidis may occur periodically at natural sites, perhaps aided by rotting organic material, animal droppings and physical changes. Semi-quantitative growth studies of B. dermatitidis on 2% agar plates determined the ability toutilize or tolerate a variety of substrates including simple and complex molecules as carbon source, and organic and inorganic nitrogen sources. Allantoin, creatinine, quanidoacetic acid, guanidine and cysteine may be used as sole nitrogen source. Allantoin in combination with dextrose, glycerol, lichenen, celloboise and other wood by-products support growth of B. dermatitidis at room temperature. The nutritional conversion of the fungus to the yeast form at room temperature, well demonstrated on allantoin/glycerol/yeast extract media, appears to be affected by certain inorganic compounds. The organism tolerates low to moderate levels of alpha-pinene, tannic acid, shikimic acid, veratryl alcohol, vanillic acid, and polyethyleneglycol-200. There are significant differences among isolates regarding growth on various substances at 20° and 37° centigrade. It appears that a variety of wood by-products and animal waste substrates, in combination, support the growth of B. dermatitidis. Their role in the ecological niche of B. dermatitidis, and the importance of nutritional dimorphism in the natural environment warrants further investigation. Botryodiplodia disease caused by Botryodiplodia theobromae is a recently disease of some Annona cultivars in Egypt, particularly in Behera Governorate, characterized by stem purple lesions, dieback, flowers, and fruits dry and soft rot. Six fungal and bacterial bioagents, i.e., Trichoderma koningii, Trichoderma hamatum, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Pseudomonas putida, Tilletiopsis minor, and Tilletiopsis washingtonensis were tested either solely or at different amalgamations against Botryodiplodia disease, as foliar spraying using three Annona cultivars, i.e., Balady and Abd El-Razik (Annona squamosa) and Hindy (Annona cherimola). In vitro, studies revealed a significant inhibition towards the conidial germination of B. theobromae as well as on the disease incidence on artificially inoculated branches and fruits in the presence of the aforementioned bioagents. An unmistakable reduction in the disease was conspicuous under the action of multi-bioagent conduct. The bioagents were tested during 2003 and 2004 agricultural seasons under the field conditions at Nobaria, (Behera Governorate). A single application and all possible mixture of two or three of the bioagents were applied at 15 days intervals as a foliar spray. Botryodiplodia disease severity and sporulation of the pathogen were always reduced, when the multi-bioagents were applied. When Trichoderma spp. and Pseudomonads spp. were blended together, the disease was greatly abridged in the three tested cultivars compared to any of the sole bioagents. The multi-bioagents were more effective than any sole or even double treatments. The application of multi-bioagents also resulted in a significant increase of fruit yield.  相似文献

Four (14) new and seven known limonoids were isolated from the EtOH extract of the fruits of Melia toosendan. The structures of the new compounds were established on the basis of spectroscopic methods to be 12-O-methyl-1-O-deacetylnimbolinin B (1), 12-O-methy-1-O-tigloyl-1-O-deacetylnimbolinin B (2), 12-O-ethylnimbolinin B (3), and 1-O-cinnamoyl-1-O-debenzoylohchinal (4). Additionally, two new tirucallane-type triterpenoids, named meliasenins S (5) and T (6), were obtained from the same fractions during purification of the limonoids.  相似文献

研究了云南省昆明市西山和丽江市玉龙雪山的粉叶小檗(Berberis pruinosa Franch.)叶、花瓣和果实特征的变异式样。粉叶小檗幼叶背面具明显的白色粉霜,而成熟叶,尤其是秋冬季的老叶,叶片背面的白色粉霜几乎完全脱落,并呈灰绿色。虽然粉叶小檗花瓣先端存在缺裂和全缘两种变异式样,但是这些变异式样在居群内是连续的。粉叶小檗成熟果实紫黑色,表面具显著而稳定的白色粉霜。结合文献分析和植物标本观察,将B. pruinosa var. brevifolia Ahrendt、B. pruinosa var. longifolia Ahrendt、B. pruinosavar.serratifoliaAhrendt和易门小檗处理为粉叶小檗的异名。此外,还为粉叶小檗指定了后选模式,即Delavay 493 (P00716556)。  相似文献

In this study we have isolated and characterized yeasts from the soil, leaves and fruits of the indigenous Moroccan Argan tree (Argania spinosa) in two locations: the coastal city of Essaouira and a drier, more stressed environment in Taroudant city. Factorial and classification analyses of the metabolic profiles showed that the yeasts from the soil and those from the fruit seemed to form distinctive groups while those from the leaves were common to the two groups. Associating the profiles with yeast species, the soil isolates seemed to be dominated by profiles associated with basidiomycetous yeasts (Bullera variabilis, association to Filobasidium capsuligenum, and Rhodotorula glutinis) while those of the fruits were associated with ascomycetous yeasts (Pichia angusta and Zygoascus hellenicus). Most profile groups were shared between the leaves and one of the other biotopes owing to the semi-deciduous character of the Argan leaves that dominate in the rhizospheric soil and to the fibrous and low flesh fruits of Argan. Although most metabolic profile groups were represented in both sampling locations, certain groups were encountered only in Taroudant samples among which a group of four yeasts that grew at 44 °C. The Taroudant samples also presented the two most osmo-tolerant yeasts capable of growing at 15% NaCl and 125% sucrose. Some of the yeast strains showed very promising activities of polygalacturonase (0.40 units/g protein) without any pectinesterase activity while others strongly inhibited the gray rot mould Botrytis cinerea, and could be good candidates for the post-harvest control of this mould on fruits.  相似文献

Utilization of the extrafloral nectaries (EFNs) and fruits of Canavalia lineata and C. cathartica by ants was investigated at 30 sites in Japan. The fruits of C. lineata and C. cathartica were inhabited by five and eight ant species, respectively. Ant nesting periods and their utilization of EFNs differed between C. lineata and C. cathartica. Canavalia lineata flowers once a year, and periods of EFN-utilization and fruit-nesting by ants do not overlap. The fruit-nesting ants on C. lineata seem to invade the plant from the holes made by moth larvae or breaches made by decay. The ants nesting on the fruits of C. lineata may defend the plant against seed herbivores because they feed on moth larvae. Canavalia cathartica flowers several times over a year, and fruits are found throughout the year; therefore, periods of EFN-utilization and fruit-nesting by ants are overlapped. Canavalia cathartica offers year-round nesting sites and food for ants, and therefore may receive a higher defensive effect from ants than C. lineata. Handling editor: Graham Stone.  相似文献

Investigations were carried out on the effects of Penicillium digitatum and Fusarium oxysporum on the nutritional value of pawpaw (Carica papaya). Decreases were observed in ash content, phosphorus, sodium, reducing sugars and ascorbic acid levels of fruits infected with P. digitatum, but increases in calcium and potassium content. In fruits infected by F. oxysporium, there were decreases in phosphorus, calcium, sodium ascorbic acid and reducing sugar levels; but the levels of ash content increased. The total protein level increased in the fruits infected with both fungi. These results revealed a reduction in fruit quality.  相似文献

Behaviors of 18 species of birds eating fruits of Hippophae rhamnoides spp. sinensis were observed from September 2003 to March 2004. Their foraging patterns were found to be very different and can be divided into five classes: (1) direct swallowing the fruits on crown of the shrubs and sometimes regurgitating seeds soon after; (2) carrying the fruits to their perching sites and swallowing; (3) pecking the fruits from the shrubs to the ground, eating pulp and seeds but leaving pericarp; (4) pecking through the pericarp, eating pulp and leaving pericarp and seeds; (5) pecking through the pericarp on the top of fruits, and only eating seeds. These foraging patterns have different effects on seed dispersal of H. rhamnoides spp. sinensis. The germination experiment of three groups of seeds (seeds from feces, dry fruits and extracted seeds from dry fruits) was carried out. Although ingestion processes of birds had some adverse effects on the seed germination of H. rhamnoides spp. sinensis, the seeds from feces still have a relatively higher germination ratio. H. rhamnoides spp. sinensis provides food to a variety of frugivorous birds, and the birds disperse its seeds.
