Developing advanced supercapacitors with both high areal and volumetric energy densities remains challenging. In this work, self‐supported, compact carbon composite electrodes are designed with tunable thickness using 3D printing technology for high‐energy‐density supercapacitors. The 3D carbon composite electrodes are composed of the closely stacked and aligned active carbon/carbon nanotube/reduced graphene oxide (AC/CNT/rGO) composite filaments. The AC microparticles are uniformly embedded in the wrinkled CNT/rGO conductive networks without using polymer binders, which contributes to the formation of abundant open and hierarchical pores. The 3D‐printed ultrathick AC/CNT/rGO composite electrode (ten layers) features high areal and volumetric mass loadings of 56.9 mg cm?2 and 256.3 mg cm?3, respectively. The symmetric cell assembled with the 3D‐printed thin GO separator and ultrathick AC/CNT/rGO electrodes can possess both high areal and volumetric capacitances of 4.56 F cm?2 and 10.28 F cm?3, respectively. Correspondingly, the assembled ultrathick and compact symmetric cell achieves high areal and volumetric energy densities of 0.63 mWh cm?2 and 1.43 mWh cm?3, respectively. The all‐component extrusion‐based 3D printing offers a promising strategy for the fabrication of multiscale and multidimensional structures of various high‐energy‐density electrochemical energy storage devices.  相似文献

Hierarchical hollow NiCo2S4 microspheres with a tunable interior architecture are synthesized by a facile and cost‐effective hydrothermal method, and used as a cathode material. A three‐dimensional (3D) porous reduced graphene oxide/Fe2O3 composite (rGO/Fe2O3) with precisely controlled particle size and morphology is successfully prepared through a scalable facile approach, with well‐dispersed Fe2O3 nanoparticles decorating the surface of rGO sheets. The fixed Fe2O3 nanoparticles in graphene efficiently prevent the intermediates during the redox reaction from dissolving into the electrolyte, resulting in long cycle life. KOH activation of the rGO/Fe2O3 composite is conducted for the preparation of an activated carbon material–based hybrid to transform into a 3D porous carbon material–based hybrid. An energy storage device consisting of hollow NiCo2S4 microspheres as the positive electrode, the 3D porous rGO/Fe2O3 composite as the negative electrode, and KOH solution as the electrolyte with a maximum energy density of 61.7 W h kg?1 is achieved owing to its wide operating voltage range of 0–1.75 V and the designed 3D structure. Moreover, the device exhibits a high power density of 22 kW kg?1 and a long cycle life with 90% retention after 1000 cycles at the current density of 1 A g?1.  相似文献

High energy density Li‐ion hybrid flow capacitors are demonstrated by employing LiMn2O4 and activated carbon slurry electrodes. Compared to the existing aqueous flow electrochemical capacitors, the hybrid one exhibits much higher energy densities due to the introduction of high capacity Li‐insertion materials (e.g., LiMn2O4 in the present work) as the flowable electrode with asymmetrical cell configuration. A record energy density, i.e., 23.4 W h kg?1 at a power of 50.0 W kg?1 has been achieved for aqueous flow capacitors tested at static condition reported to date. A full operational Li‐ion flow capacitor tested in an intermittent‐flow mode has also been demonstrated. The Li‐ion hybrid flow capacitor shows great promise for high‐rate grid applications.  相似文献

Vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) layered nanostructures are known to have very stable crystal structures and high faradaic activity. The low electronic conductivity of V2O5 greatly limits the application of vanadium oxide as electrode materials and requires combining with conducting materials using binders. It is well known that the organic binders can degrade the overall performance of electrode materials and need carefully controlled compositions. In this study, we develop a simple method for preparing freestanding carbon nanotube (CNT)‐V2O5 nanowire (VNW) composite paper electrodes without using binders. Coin cell type (CR2032) supercapacitors are assembled using the nanocomposite paper electrode as the anode and high surface area carbon fiber electrode (Spectracarb 2225) as the cathode. The supercapacitor with CNT‐VNW composite paper electrode exhibits a power density of 5.26 kW Kg?1 and an energy density of 46.3 Wh Kg?1. (Li)VNWs and CNT composite paper electrodes can be fabricated in similar manner and show improved overall performance with a power density of 8.32 kW Kg?1 and an energy density of 65.9 Wh Kg?1. The power and energy density values suggest that such flexible hybrid nanocomposite paper electrodes may be useful for high performance electrochemical supercapacitors.  相似文献

Sodium ion batteries (NIBs) have become attractive promising alternatives to lithium ion batteries in a broad field of future energy storage applications. The development of high‐performance anode materials has become an essential factor and a great challenge toward satisfying the requirements for NIBs, advancement. This work is the first report on GeS2 nanocomposites uniformly distributed on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) as promising anode materials for NIBs prepared via a facile hydrothermal synthesis and a unique carbo‐thermal annealing. The results show that the GeS2/rGO hybrid anode yields a high reversible specific capacity of 805 mA h g?1 beyond the theoretical capacity, an excellent rate capability of 616 mA h g?1 at 5 A g?1, and a cycle retention of 89.4% after 100 cycles. A combined ex situ characterization study reveals that the electrochemically driven amorphization plays a key role in achieving efficient sodium storage by accommodating excess sodium ions in the electrode materials. Understanding the sequential conversion‐alloying reaction mechanism for GeS2/rGO hybrid anodes provides a new approach for developing high‐performance energy storage applications.  相似文献

The charge storage characteristics of a composite nanoarchitecture with a highly functional 3D morphology are reported. The electrodes are formed by the electropolymerization of aniline monomers into a nanometer‐thick polyaniline (PANI) film that conformally coats graphitic petals (GPs) grown by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition (MPCVD) on conductive carbon cloth (CC). The hybrid CC/GPs/PANI electrodes yield results near the theoretical maximum capacitance for PANI of 2000 F g?1 (based on PANI mass) and a large area‐normalized specific capacitance of ≈2.6 F cm?2 (equivalent to a volumetric capacitance of ≈230 F cm?3) at a low current density of 1 A g?1 (based on PANI mass). The specific capacitances remain above 1200 F g?1 (based on PANI mass) for currents up to 100 A g?1 with correspondingly high area‐normalized values. The hybrid electrodes also exhibit a high rate capability with an energy density of 110 Wh kg?1 and a maximum power density of 265 kW kg?1 at a current density of 100 A g?1. Long‐term cyclic stability is good (≈7% loss of initial capacitance after 2000 cycles), with coulombic efficiencies >99%. Moreover, prototype all‐solid‐state flexible supercapacitors fabricated from these hybrid electrodes exhibit excellent energy storage performance.  相似文献

Smart construction of ultraflexible electrodes with superior gravimetric and volumetric capacities is still challenging yet significant for sodium ion batteries (SIBs) toward wearable electronic devices. Herein, a hybrid film made of hierarchical Fe1?xS‐filled porous carbon nanowires/reduced graphene oxide (Fe1?xS@PCNWs/rGO) is synthesized through a facile assembly and sulfuration strategy. The resultant hybrid paper exhibits high flexibility and structural stability. The multidimensional paper architecture possesses several advantages, including rendering an efficient electron/ion transport network, buffering the volume expansion of Fe1?xS nanoparticles, mitigating the dissolution of polysulfides, and enabling superior kinetics toward efficient sodium storage. When evaluated as a self‐supporting anode for SIBs, the Fe1?xS@PCNWs/rGO paper electrode exhibits remarkable reversible capacities of 573–89 mAh g?1 over 100 consecutive cycles at 0.1 A g?1 with areal mass loadings of 0.9–11.2 mg cm?2 and high volumetric capacities of 424–180 mAh cm?3 in the current density range of 0.2–5 A g?1. More competitively, a SIB based on this flexible Fe1?xS@PCNWs/rGO anode demonstrates outstanding electrochemical properties, thus highlighting its enormous potential in versatile flexible and wearable applications.  相似文献

A hybrid nanoarchitecture aerogel composed of WS2 nanosheets and carbon nanotube‐reduced graphene oxide (CNT‐rGO) with ordered microchannel three‐dimensional (3D) scaffold structure was synthesized by a simple solvothermal method followed by freeze‐drying and post annealing process. The 3D ordered microchannel structures not only provide good electronic transportation routes, but also provide excellent ionic conductive channels, leading to an enhanced electrochemical performance as anode materials both for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) and sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs). Significantly, WS2/CNT‐rGO aerogel nanostructure can deliver a specific capacity of 749 mA h g?1 at 100 mA g?1 and a high first‐cycle coulombic efficiency of 53.4% as the anode material of LIBs. In addition, it also can deliver a capacity of 311.4 mA h g?1 at 100 mA g?1, and retain a capacity of 252.9 mA h g?1 at 200 mA g?1 after 100 cycles as the anode electrode of SIBs. The excellent electrochemical performance is attributed to the synergistic effect between the WS2 nanosheets and CNT‐rGO scaffold network and rational design of 3D ordered structure. These results demonstrate the potential applications of ordered CNT‐rGO aerogel platform to support transition‐metal‐dichalcogenides (i.e., WS2) for energy storage devices and open up a route for material design for future generation energy storage devices.  相似文献

A synthesis methodology is demonstrated to produce MoS2 nanoparticles with an expanded atomic lamellar structure that are ideal for Faradaic‐based capacitive charge storage. While much of the work on MoS2 focuses on the high capacity conversion reaction, that process is prone to poor reversibility. The pseudocapacitive intercalation‐based charge storage reaction of MoS2 is investigated, which is extremely fast and highly reversible. A major challenge in the field of pseudocapacitive‐based energy storage is the development of thick electrodes from nanostructured materials that can sustain the fast inherent kinetics of the active nanocrystalline material. Here a composite electrode comprised of a poly(acrylic acid) binder, carbon fibers, and carbon black additives is utilized. These electrodes deliver a specific capacity of 90 mAh g?1 in less than 20 s and can be cycled 3000 times while retaining over 80% of the original capacity. Quantitative kinetic analysis indicates that over 80% of the charge storage in these MoS2 nanocrystals is pseudocapacitive. Asymmetric full cell devices utilizing a MoS2 nanocrystal‐based electrode and an activated carbon electrode achieve a maximum power density of 5.3 kW kg?1 (with 6 Wh kg?1 energy density) and a maximum energy density of 37 Wh kg?1 (with 74 W kg?1power density).  相似文献

A novel sodium hybrid capacitor (NHC) is constructed with an intercalation‐type sodium material [carbon coated‐Na3V2(PO4)3, C‐NVP] and high surface area‐activated carbon derived from an eco‐friendly resource cinnamon sticks (CDCs) in an organic electrolyte. This novel NHC possesses a combination of high energy and high power density, along with remarkable electrochemical stability. In addition, the C‐NVP/CDC system outperforms present, well‐established lithium hybrid capacitor systems in all areas, and can thus be added to the list of candidates for future electric vehicles. A careful optimization of mass balance between electrode materials enables the C‐NVP/CDC cell to exhibit extraordinary capacitance performance. This novel NHC produces an energy density of 118 Wh kg?1 at a specific power of 95 W kg?1 and retains an energy density of 60 Wh kg?1 with high specific power of 850 W kg?1. Furthermore, a discharge capacitance of 53 F g?1 is obtained from the C‐NVP/CDC cell at a 1 mA cm?2 current density, along with 95% capacitance retention, even after 10 000 cycles. The sluggish kinetics of the Na ion battery system is successfully overcome by developing a stable, high‐performing NHC system.  相似文献

Potassium‐ion hybrid capacitors (PIHCs), elaborately integrate the advantages of high output power as well as long lifespan of supercapacitors and the high energy density of batteries, and exhibit great possibilities for the future generations of energy storage devices. The critical next step for future implementation lies in exploring a high‐rate battery‐type anode with an ultra‐stable structure to match the capacitor‐type cathode. Herein, a “dual‐carbon” is constructed, in which a three‐dimensional nitrogen‐doped microporous carbon polyhedron (NMCP) derived from metal‐organic frameworks is tightly wrapped by two‐dimensional reduced graphene oxide (NMCP@rGO). Benefiting from the synergistic effect of the inner NMCP and outer rGO, the NMCP@rGO exhibits a superior K‐ion storage capability with a high reversible capacity of 386 mAh g?1 at 0.05 A g?1 and ultra‐long cycle stability with a capacity of 151.4 mAh g?1 after 6000 cycles at 5.0 A g?1. As expected, the as‐assembled PIHCs with a working voltage as high as 4.2 V present a high energy/power density (63.6 Wh kg?1 at 19 091 W kg?1) and excellent capacity retention of 84.7% after 12 000 cycles. This rational construction of advanced PIHCs with excellent performance opens a new avenue for further application and development.  相似文献

Compact, light, and powerful energy storage devices are urgently needed for many emerging applications; however, the development of advanced power sources relies heavily on advances in materials innovation. Here, the findings in rational design, one‐pot synthesis, and characterization of a series of Ni hydroxide‐based electrode materials in alkaline media for fast energy storage are reported. Under the guidance of density functional theory calculations and experimental investigations, a composite electrode composed of Co‐/Mn‐substituted Ni hydroxides grown on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) is designed and prepared, demonstrating capacities of 665 and 427 C g?1 at current densities of 2 and 20 A g?1, respectively. The superior performance is attributed mainly to the low deprotonation energy and the facile electron transport, as elaborated by theoretical calculations. When coupled with an electrode based on organic molecular‐modified rGO, the resulting hybrid device demonstrates an energy density of 74.7 W h kg?1 at a power density of 1.68 kW kg?1 while maintaining capacity retention of 91% after 10,000 cycles (20 A g?1). The findings not only provide a promising electrode material for high‐performance hybrid capacitors but also open a new avenue toward knowledge‐based design of efficient electrode materials for other energy storage applications.  相似文献

Vanadium pentoxide–reduced graphene oxide (rGO) free‐standing electrodes are used as electrodes for supercapacitor applications, eliminating the need for current collectors or additives and reducing resistance (sheet resistance 29.1 Ω □?1). The effective exfoliation of rGO allows improved electrolyte ions interaction, achieving high areal capacitance (511.7 mF cm?2) coupled with high mass loadings. A fabricated asymmetric flexible device based on rGO/V2O5‐rGO (VGO) consists of approximately 20 mg of active mass and still delivers a low equivalent series resistance (ESR) of 3.36 Ω with excellent cycling stability. A prototype unit of the assembled device with organic electrolyte is shown to light up eight commercial light‐emitting diode bulbs.  相似文献

Lithium‐ion capacitors (LICs) with capacitor‐type cathodes and battery‐type anodes are considered a promising next‐generation advanced energy storages system that meet the requirements of high energy density and power density. However, the mismatch of charge‐storage capacity and electrode kinetics between positive and negative electrodes remains a challenge. Herein, layered SnS2/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) nanocomposites are developed for negative electrodes and a 2D B/N codoped carbon (BCN) nanosheet is designed for the positive electrode. The SnS2/RGO derived from SnS2‐bonded RGO of high conductivity exhibits a capacity of 1198 mA h g?1 at 100 mA g?1. Boron and nitrogen atoms in BCN are found to promote adsorption of anions, which enhance the pseudocapacitive contribution as well as expanding the voltage of LICs. A quantitative kinetics analysis indicates that the SnS2/RGO electrodes with a dominating capacitive mechanism and a diminished intercalation process, benefit the kinetic balance between the two electrodes. With this particular structure, the LIC is able to operate at the highest operating voltage for these devices recorded to date (4.5 V), exhibiting an energy density of 149.5 W h kg?1, a power density of 35 kW kg?1, and a capacity retention ratio of 90% after 10 000 cycles.  相似文献

Conducting polymers such as polyaniline (PAni) show a great potential as pseudocapacitor materials for electrochemical energy storage applications. Yet, the cycling instability of PAni resulting from structural alteration is a major hurdle to its commercial application. Here, the development of nanostructured PAni–RuO2 core–shell arrays as electrodes for highly stable pseudocapacitors with excellent energy storage performance is reported. A thin layer of RuO2 grown by atomic layer deposition (ALD) on PAni nanofibers plays a crucial role in stabilizing the PAni pseudocapacitors and improving their energy density. The pseudocapacitors, which are based on optimized PAni–RuO2 core–shell nanostructured electrodes, exhibit very high specific capacitance (710 F g?1 at 5 mV s?1) and power density (42.2 kW kg?1) at an energy density of 10 Wh kg?1. Furthermore, they exhibit remarkable capacitance retention of ≈88% after 10 000 cycles at very high current density of 20 A g?1, superior to that of pristine PAni‐based pseudocapacitors. This prominently enhanced electrochemical stability successfully demonstrates the buffering effect of ALD coating on PAni, which provides a new approach for the preparation of metal‐oxide/conducting polymer hybrid electrodes with excellent electrochemical performance.  相似文献

Potassium ion hybrid capacitors have great potential for large‐scale energy devices, because of the high power density and low cost. However, their practical applications are hindered by their low energy density, as well as electrolyte decomposition and collector corrosion at high potential in potassium bis(fluoro‐sulfonyl)imide‐based electrolyte. Therefore, anode materials with high capacity, a suitable voltage platform, and stability become a key factor. Here, N‐doping carbon‐coated FeSe2 clusters are demonstrated as the anode material for a hybrid capacitor, delivering a reversible capacity of 295 mAh g?1 at 100 mA g?1 over 100 cycles and a high rate capability of 158 mAh g?1 at 2000 mA g?1 over 2000 cycles. Meanwhile, through density functional theory calculations, in situ X‐ray diffraction, and ex situ transmission electron microscopy, the evolution of FeSe2 to Fe3Se4 for the electrochemical reaction mechanism is successfully revealed. The battery‐supercapacitor hybrid using commercial activated carbon as the cathode and FeSe2/N‐C as the anode is obtained. It delivers a high energy density of 230 Wh kg?1 and a power density of 920 W kg?1 (the energy density and power density are calculated based on the total mass of active materials in the anode and cathode).  相似文献

Driven by increasing demand for high‐energy‐density batteries for consumer electronics and electric vehicles, substantial progress is achieved in the development of long‐life lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries. Less attention is given to Li–S batteries with high volume energy density, which is crucial for applications in compact space. Here, a series of elastic sandwich‐structured cathode materials consisting of alternating VS2‐attached reduced graphene oxide (rGO) sheets and active sulfur layers are reported. Due to the high polarity and conductivity of VS2, a small amount of VS2 can suppress the shuttle effect of polysulfides and improve the redox kinetics of sulfur species in the whole sulfur layer. Sandwich‐structured rGO–VS2/S composites exhibit significantly improved electrochemical performance, with high discharge capacities, low polarization, and excellent cycling stability compared with their bare rGO/S counterparts. Impressively, the tap density of rGO–VS2/S with 89 wt% sulfur loading is 1.84 g cm?3, which is almost three times higher than that of rGO/S with the same sulfur content (0.63 g cm?3), and the volumetric specific capacity of the whole cell is as high as 1182.1 mA h cm?3, comparable with the state‐of‐the‐art reported for energy storage devices, demonstrating the potential for application of these composites in long‐life and high‐energy‐density Li–S batteries.  相似文献

SnS2 nanoplatelet electrodes can offer an exceptionally high pseudocapacitance in an organic Na+ ion electrolyte system, but their underlying mechanisms are still largely unexplored, hindering the practical applications of pseudocapacitive SnS2 anodes in Na‐ion batteries (SIBs) and Na hybrid capacitors (SHCs). Herein, SnS2 nanoplatelets are grown directly on SnO2/C composites to synthesize SnS2/graphene‐carbon nanotube aerogel (SnS2/GCA) by pressurized sulfidation where the original morphology of carbon framework is preserved. The composite electrode possessing a large surface area delivers a remarkable specific capacity of 600.3 mA h g?1 at 0.2 A g?1 and 304.8 mA h g?1 at an ultrahigh current density of 10 A g?1 in SIBs. SHCs comprising a SnS2/GCA composite anode and an activated carbon cathode present exceptional energy densities of 108.3 and 26.9 W h kg?1 at power densities of 130 and 6053 W kg?1, respectively. The in situ transmission electron microscopy and the density functional theory calculations reveal that the excellent pseudocapacitance originates from the combination of Na adsorption on the surface/Sn edge of SnS2 nanoplatelets and ultrafast Na+ ion intercalation into the SnS2 layers.  相似文献

A flexible asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) with high energy density is designed and fabricated using flower‐like Bi2O3 and MnO2 grown on carbon nanofiber (CNF) paper as the negative and positive electrodes, respectively. The lightweight (1.6 mg cm?2), porous, conductive, and flexible features make the CNF paper an ideal support for guest active materials, which permit a large areal mass of 9 mg cm?2 for Bi2O3 (≈85 wt% of the entire electrode). Thus, the optimal device with an operation voltage of 1.8 V can deliver a high energy density of 43.4 μWh cm?2 (11.3 W h kg?1, based on the total electrodes) and a maximum power density of 12.9 mW cm?2 (3370 W kg?1). This work provides an example of large areal mass and flexible electrode for ASCs with high areal capacitance and high energy density, holding great promise for future flexible electronic devices.  相似文献

A three‐component, flexible electrode is developed for supercapacitors over graphitized carbon fabric, utilizing γ‐MnO2 nanoflowers anchored onto carbon nanotubes (γ‐MnO2/CNT) as spacers for graphene nanosheets (GNs). The three‐component, composite electrode doubles the specific capacitance with respect to GN‐only electrodes, giving the highest‐reported specific capacitance (308 F g?1) for symmetric supercapacitors containing MnO2 and GNs using a two‐electrode configuration, at a scan rate of 20 mV s?1. A maximum energy density of 43 W h kg?1 is obtained for our symmetric supercapacitors at a constant discharge‐current density of 2.5 A g?1 using GN–(γ‐MnO2/CNT)‐nanocomposite electrodes. The fabricated supercapacitor device exhibits an excellent cycle life by retaining ≈90% of the initial specific capacitance after 5000 cycles.  相似文献
