Evaluation of the salt tolerance of crop cultivars under field conditions is greatly complicated by the typical temporal and spatial variability of soil salinity. We obtained the grain yield – salinity response functions of 124 barley genotypes by growing them in ten salinity treatments imposed by a Triple Line Source Sprinkler (TLS) system during five consecutive years. Additional objectives were to ascertain the consistency and reproducibility over years of these functions, to quantify the deleterious effects of saline sprinkling irrigations, and to assess correlations between salinity tolerance and leaf sap salt concentration. The consistency and reproducibility of the response functions within and between years were adequate (only 8% of the response functions were discarded for statistical reasons). The Y m (grain yield without salinity) and the EC50 (the EC e that reduces yield by 50%) estimates were not correlated (P > 0.05) suggesting that the most productive genotypes were not necessarily less salinity tolerant. Y m was positively and significantly (P < 0.01) correlated with Y6 and Y12 (fitted grain yields at EC e values of 6 dS m-1, and 12 dS m-1, respectively), indicating that it is a useful statistic in the selection of barley genotypes most productive under medium and high salinities. Foliar salt uptake due to saline sprinkling irrigations decreased the EC50 by around 50% as compared with the salinity tolerance obtained with surface irrigation systems. No consistent relationships were found between either Y m or EC50 and the leaf sap osmotic potential, Cl, Ca, Na and K concentrations. They could not therefore be used in screening for salinity tolerance of barley. On the basis of the evidence from the present study, Y m is the best statistic for predicting the most productive barley genotypes in salt-affected soils. Selection for metal-tolerant ecotypes of ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi has been reported in instances of metal contamination of soils as a result of human activities. However, no study has yet provided evidence that natural metalliferous soils, such as serpentine soils, can drive the evolution of metal tolerance in ECM fungi. We examined in vitro Ni tolerance in isolates of Cenococcum geophilum from serpentine and non-serpentine soils to assess whether isolates from serpentine soils exhibited patterns consistent with adaptation to elevated levels of Ni, a typical feature of serpentine. A second objective was to investigate the relationship between Ni tolerance and specific growth rates (μ) among isolates to increase our understanding of possible tolerance/growth trade-offs. Isolates from both soil types were screened for Ni tolerance by measuring biomass production in liquid media with increasing Ni concentrations, so that the effective concentration of Ni inhibiting fungal growth by 50% (EC50) could be determined. Isolates of C. geophilum from serpentine soils exhibited significantly higher tolerance to Ni than non-serpentine isolates. The mean Ni EC50 value for serpentine isolates (23.4 μg ml−1) was approximately seven times higher than the estimated value for non-serpentine isolates (3.38 μg ml−1). Although there was still a considerable variation in Ni sensitivity among the isolates, none of the serpentine isolates had EC50 values for Ni within the range found for non-serpentine isolates. We found a negative correlation between EC50 and μ values among isolates (r = −0.555). This trend, albeit only marginally significant (P = 0.06), indicates a potential trade-off between tolerance and growth, in agreement with selection against Ni tolerance in “normal” habitats. Overall, these results suggest that Ni tolerance arose among serpentine isolates of C. geophilum as an adaptive response to Ni exposure in serpentine soils. This study reports the effect of salinity and inoculation on growth, ion uptake and nitrogen fixation byVigna radiata. A soil ECe level of 7.5 dS m−1 was quite detrimental causing about 60% decline in dry matter and grain yield of mungbean plants whereas a soil ECe level of 10.0 dS m−1 was almost toxic. In contrast most of the studied strains of Rhizobium were salt tolerant. Nevertheless, nodulation, nitrogen fixation and total nitrogen concentration in the plant was drastically affected at high salt concentration. A noticeable decline in acetylene reduction activity occurred when salinity level increased to 7.5 dS m−1.  相似文献

Summary The salt sensitivity of carnations, gerberas, anthuriums, chrysanthemums and hippeastrums was studied in an investigation. The crops were grown in basins filled with soil and irrigated with the aid of low level sprinklers. Two different cultivars of each crop were included in the experiments. The crops were irrigated with water containing different levels of salts. The EC of the irrigation water (ECw) ranged between 0.2 and 3.9 mS.cm–1 at 25°C.The salt applications had a deleterious effect on the development of all the flower crops used in the investigation. Carnations and chrysanthemums proved to be the least sensitive. Gerberas and hippeastrums showed a medium sensitivity and anthuriums proved to be the most salt sensitive. The latter crop also showed a specific sensitivity to sodium chloride.The salinity threshold values were low for most crops,i.e. ECw<0.6. Slightly higher values were found for carnations only. The salinity decrease values of ECw showed very wide variations and ranged from 6 to 34%. A method is proposed for the conversion of ECw values into EC values for the saturation extract (ECe) with the aid of the soil analytical results.The results of tissue analyses showed that the sodium and chloride contents in particular were affected by the salt applications. The effects of the salt applications on the uptake of the major nutrient elements varied from crop to crop.  相似文献

ISSR markers were used to analyze the genetic diversity and genetic structure of eight natural populations of Cupressus chengiana in China. ISSR analysis using 10 primers was carried out on 92 different samples. At the species level, 136 polymorphic loci were detected. The percentage of polymorphic bands (PPB) was 99%. Genetic diversity (H e) was 0.3120, effective number of alleles (A e) was 1.5236, and Shannon’s information index (I) was 0.4740. At the population level, PPB = 48%, A e=1.2774, H e=0.1631, and I=0.2452. Genetic differentiation (G st) detected by Nei’s genetic diversity analysis suggested 48% occurred among populations. The partitioning of molecular variance by AMOVA analysis indicated significant genetic differentiation within populations (54%) and among populations (46%; P < 0.0003). The average number of individuals exchanged between populations per generation (N m ) was 0.5436. Samples from the same population clustered in the same population-specific cluster, and two groups of Sichuan and Gansu populations were distinguishable. A significantly positive correlation between genetic and geographic distance was detected (r=0.6701). Human impacts were considered one of the main factors to cause the rarity of C. chengiana, and conservation strategies are suggested based on the genetic characters and field investigation, e.g., protection of wild populations, reestablishment of germplasm bank, and reintroduction of more genetic diversity.  相似文献

Alkaline stable (pH 7.75–12.5) urease from Sporosarcina ureae was purified over 400-fold by ion exchange and hydrophobic interaction chromatography. The cytoplasmic enzyme was remarkably active with a specific activity of greater than 9300 μmol urea degraded min-1 mg protein-1 at pH 7.5, where it has optimal activity. Although S. ureae is closely related to Bacillus pasteurii, known to posses a homopolymeric urease containing 1 nickel per subunit [M r=65000], the S. ureae enzyme is comprised of three subunits [apparent M r=63100 (α), 14500 (β), and 8500 (γ)] in an estimated ∝βγ stoichiometry and contains 2.1±0.6 nickel ions per ∝βγ unit as measured by atomic absorption spectrometry. Stationary phase cultures sometimes possessed low levels of urease activity, but the specific activity of cell extracts of partially purified urease preparations from such cultures could be elevated by heat treatment, dilution, or dialysis to values comparable to those observed in samples from exponentially grown cells.  相似文献

Rivers in Asturias (northern Spain) constitute the southern limit of the distribution of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.) in Europe, a biological resource facing one of the more serious challenges for conservation today. In this work, eight microsatellite loci have been used to analyse samples collected in 1993 and 1999 from four Asturian rivers (Esva, Narcea, Sella, and Cares), obtaining information about the temporal and the spatial genetic variation in these populations and, in addition, estimations of their effective population sizes. The temporal analysis revealed a general decrease in all the estimated genetic variability parameters when samples from 1993 (mean A (1993) = 6.47, mean H O(1993) = 0.472, mean H E(1993) = 0.530) were compared with those obtained in 1999 (mean A (1999) = 6.16, mean H O(1999) = 0.460, mean H E(1999) = 0.490). This reduction was particularly notable for the case of the Esva river. Our results pointed to a pattern of spatial genetic differentiation inside the Asturian region (F ST (1993) = 0.016 P < 0.01; F ST (1999) = 0.023 P < 0.01). Using the standard Temporal Method we found estimates of N e^ (Esva) = 75.1 (33.2–267.2); N e^ (Cares) = 96.6 (40.0–507.5), N e^ (Sella) = 106.5 (39.1–9396.4) and N e^ (Narcea) = 113.9 (42.0–3693.3). The use of likelihood-based methods for the N e^ estimations improved the results (smaller CIs) for the Esva and Cares rivers (N e^ (Esva) = 63.9 (32.3–165.3); N e^ (Cares) = 76.4 (38.8–202.0) using a Maximum likelihood approach) and suggested the presence of larger populations for the Sella and Narcea rivers (N e^≈200). These results showed that the Asturian Atlantic salmon populations (in particular Esva and Cares river populations) could be close to the conservation genetic borderline for avoiding inbreeding depression although we discuss some implications of the analysis of temporal genetic change in populations with overlapping generations.  相似文献

Formulas are derived for the mean and variance of the number of radioactive atoms present in a compartment (or urn). The expected number of radioactive atoms,E(t), present at timet is, as expected,n 1 e−λt where λ=(rt)/(b+r+n 1). The relative variance, σ2(t)/n 1 2 , vanishes to zero forr=1, atoms per unit time and for a large number ofn 1 radioactive atoms; but for a large number of bothr andn 1 atoms the relative variance is ∼e −λt , equal to the fractional retention, fort>1/λ. Thus in studies where radionuclides are injected into animals and a single compartment represents the data, if a large variance is observed it might be due to the fact that large numbers of atoms are transferred out in unit time. When a small variance is observed, this is probably due to the fact that few atoms are transferred in smaller units of time (such that λ is the same in both cases). The modulation of I A K+ current by ten trivalent lanthanide (Ln3+) cations spanning the series with ionic radii ranging from 0.99 ? to 1.14 ? was characterized by the whole-cell patch clamp technique in bovine adrenal zona fasciculata (AZF) cells. Each of the ten Ln3+s reduced I A amplitude measured at +20 mV in a concentration-dependent manner. Smaller Ln3+s were the most potent and half-maximally effective concentrations (EC50s) varied inversely with ionic radius for the larger elements. Estimation of EC50s yielded the following potency sequence: Lu3+ (EC50= 3.0 μm) ≈ Yb3+ (EC50= 2.7 μm) > Er3+ (EC50= 3.7 μm) ≥ Dy3+ (EC50= 4.7 μm) > Gd3+ (EC50= 6.7 μm) ≈ Sm3+ (EC50= 6.9 μm) > Nd3+ (EC50= 11.2 μm) > Pr3+ (EC50= 22.3 μm) > Ce3+ (EC50= 28.0 μm) > La3+ (EC50= 33.7 μm). Ln3+s altered selected voltage-dependent gating and kinetic parameters of I A with a potency and order of effectiveness that paralleled the reduction of I A amplitude. Ln3+s markedly slowed activation kinetics and shifted the voltage-dependence of I A gating such that activation and steady-state inactivation occurred at more depolarized potentials. In contrast, Ln3+s did not measurably alter inactivation or deactivation kinetics and only slightly slowed kinetics of inactivated channels returning to the closed state. Replacement of external Ca2+ with Mg2+ had no effect on the concentration-dependent inhibition of I A by Ln3+s. In contrast to their action on I A K+ current, Ln3+s inhibited T-type Ca2+ currents in AZF cells without slowing activation kinetics. These results indicate that Ln3+ modulate I A K+ channels through binding to a site on I A channels located within the electric field but which is not specific for Ca2+. They are consistent with a model where Ln3+ binding to negative charges on the gating apparatus alters the voltage-dependence and kinetics of channel opening. Cattle production plays a significant role in terms of world food production. Nearly 82% of the world’s 1.2 billion cattle can be found in developing countries. An increasing demand for meat in developing countries has seen an increase in intensification of animal industries, and a move to cross-bred animals. Heat tolerance is considered to be one of the most important adaptive aspects for cattle, and the lack of thermally-tolerant breeds is a major constraint on cattle production in many countries. There is a need to not only identify heat tolerant breeds, but also heat tolerant animals within a non-tolerant breed. Identification of heat tolerant animals is not easy under field conditions. In this study, panting score (0 to 4.5 scale where 0 = no stress and 4.5 = extreme stress) and the heat load index (HLI) [HLIBG<25°C = 10.66 + 0.28 × rh + 1.30 × BG – WS; and, HLI BG> 25°C = 8.62 + 0.38 × rh + 1.55 × BG – 0.5 × WS + e(2.4 – WS), where BG = black globe temperature (oC), rh = relative humidity (decimal form), WS = wind speed (m/s) and e is the base of the natural logarithm] were used to assess the heat tolerance of 17 genotypes (12,757 steers) within 13 Australian feedlots over three summers. The cattle were assessed under natural climatic conditions in which HLI ranged from thermonuetral (HLI < 70) to extreme (HLI > 96; black globe temperature = 40.2°C, relative humidity = 64%, wind speed = 1.58 m/s). When HLI > 96 a greater number (P < 0.001) of pure bred Bos taurus and crosses of Bos taurus cattle had a panting score ≥ 2 compared to Brahman cattle, and Brahman-cross cattle. The heat tolerance of the assessed breeds was verified using panting scores and the HLI. Heat tolerance of cattle can be assessed under field conditions by using panting score and HLI.  相似文献

The transient response of oxygen uptake (O2) to submaximal exercise, known to be abnormal in patients with cardiovascular disorders, can be useful in assessing the functional status of the cardiocirculatory system, however, a method for evaluating it accurately has not yet been established. As an alternative approach to the conventional test at constant exercise intensity, we applied a random stimulus technique that has been shown to provide relatively noise immune responses of system being investigated. In 27 patients with heart failure and 24 age-matched control subjects, we imposed cycle exercise at 50 W intermittently according to a pseudo-random binary (exercise-rest) sequence, while measuring breath-by-breath O2. After determining the transfer function relating exercise intensity () to O2 and attenuating the high frequency ranges (>6 exercise-rest cycles · min−1), we computed the high resolution band-limited (0–6 cycles · min−1) O2 response (0–120 s) to a hypothetical step exercise. The O2 response showed a longer time constant in the patients than in the control subjects [47 (SD 37) and 31 (SD 8) s, respectively, P < 0.05]. Furthermore, the amplitude of the O2 response after the initial response was shown to be significantly smaller in the patients than in the control subjects [176 (SD 50) and 267 (SD 54) ml · min−1 at 120 s]. The average amplitude over 120 s correlated well with peak O2 (r = 0.73) and ΔO2 (r = 0.70), both of which are well-established indexes of exercise tolerance. The data indicated that our band-limited V˙O2 step response using random exercise was more markedly attenuated and delayed in the patients with heart failure than in the normal controls and that it could be useful in quantifying the overall functional status of the cardiocirculatory system. Crop salt tolerance is generally assessed as the relative yield response to increasing root zone salinity, expressed as soil (ECe) or irrigation water (ECw) electrical conductivity. Alternatively, the dynamic process of salt accumulation into the shoot relative to the shoot biomass has also been considered as a tolerance index. These relationships are graphically represented by two intersecting linear regions, which identify (1) a specific threshold tolerance, at which yield begins to decrease, and (2) a declining region, which defines the yield reduction rate. Although the salinity threshold is intuitively a critical parameter for establishing plant salt tolerance, we focused our interest on physiological modifications that may occur in the plant at salinity higher than the so-called tolerance threshold. For this purpose, we exposed hydroponically grown tomato plants to eight different salinity levels (EC = 2.5 (non-salinized control); 4.2; 6.0; 7.8; 9.6; 11.4; 13.2; 15.0 dS m−1). Based on biomass production, water relations, leaf ions accumulation, leaf and root abscisic acid and stomatal conductance measurements, we were able to identify a specific EC value (approximately 9.6 dS m−1) at which a sharp increase of the shoot and root ABA levels coincided with (1) a decreased sensitivity of stomatal response to ABA; (2) a different partitioning of Na+ ions between young and mature leaves; (3) a remarkable increase of the root-to-shoot ratio. The specificity and functional significance of this response in salt stress adaptation is discussed.  相似文献

The culture of green mussel (Perna viridis) in the Gulf of Thailand depends on natural spat which are believed to come from spawning grounds adjacent to major river mouths. In the present paper, genetic diversity of spatial and temporal populations of green mussel in the Gulf of Thailand was investigated using five microsatellite loci. The results showed moderate genetic variation of all 11 populations (averaged number of alleles per locus, A = 10.4–12.2; effective number of alleles per locus, A e = 5.36–6.59; mean allelic richness, A r = 10.23–12.06; observed heterozygosity, H o = 0.52–0.63, and expected heterozygosity, H e = 0.66–0.73) without significant differences among populations. No sign of bottleneck or genetic disequilibrium was observed. Genetic differentiation among spatial populations was low (F ST = 0.0046, CI0.95 = 0.0020–0.0083 for the samples collected in January, 2007, and F ST = 0.0088, CI0.95 = 0.0010–0.0162 for the samples collected in July, 2007) while temporal variation was significant as revealed by the analysis of molecular variance. Multidimensional scaling separated temporal population groups with minor exception. The assignment test revealed that most of the recruits were from other populations.  相似文献

Age and growth of the nototheniid fishTrematomus bernacchii Boulenger 1902 were estimated by reading the sagittal otoliths of 457 adult specimens caught off Terra Nova Bay (Ross Sea) in the austral summer 1990–1991. Annuli in ground and polished otoliths were examined using a dissecting microscope under reflected light. The Von Bertalanffy growth equation was Lt=273.5 [1 − e−0.109(t+2.10)] for males (n=122) and Lt=422.2 [1 − e−0.055(t+1.92)] for females (n=211) where L is total length in millimetres. Maximum estimated age was 21 years for females and 16 years for males. This is in agreement with the hypothesis that considers slow growth and old age as a typical feature of Antarctic fishes.  相似文献

Accurate estimation of soil nitrogen (N) supply in the field is required to optimize fertilizer N management and to minimize environmental N losses in humid environments. Laboratory-based measures of N availability were evaluated as predictors of field-based indices of soil N supply within potato production systems. Pre-plant soil samples (0–15 cm) were collected from a series of forty treatments in established potato trials located in Atlantic Canada and Maine, USA. Total plant N uptake at topkill with no fertilizer N applied (PNU0N), PNU0N plus soil mineral N to 30 cm depth at harvest and relative yield were considered as field-based indices of soil N supply. The potentially mineralizable N (N0) was determined by aerobic incubation at 25°C and periodic leaching for 24 weeks. A series of laboratory-based measures of soil N supply were measured in soil samples. Pre-plant soil nitrate or total mineral N at 0–30 cm depth was the best single predictor of PNU0N (r = 0.67 and 0.71, respectively) and relative yield (r = 0.58 and 0.61). The ultraviolet absorbance of 0.01 M NaHCO3 extract at 205 nm (NaHCO3-205) was suitable as a predictor of PNU0N and relative yield in each growing season, however, the relationship between this parameter and PNU0N or relative yield varied somewhat among years. A combination of pre-plant mineral N plus N mineralized in the first 2 weeks period of incubation after re-wetting is proposed as a more robust measure of N availability compared with use of mineral N alone.  相似文献

Pesticides have been major contributors to environmental pollution and they are now widely distributed in aquatic environments. Zooplankters are frequently used as test animals to detect aquatic contaminants because of their sensitivity and ecological importance. We investigated the effect of a 7-day exposure to four commonly used pesticides (diazinon, fenitrothion, methoprene and isoprothiolane) on reproduction of the rotifer Brachionus plicatilis. Pesticide concentrations of 3–7 times lower than the 24-h 50% lethal concentration (24-h LC50) were tested to determine the ‚no observed effect’ concentration (NOEC), ‚lowest observed effect’ concentration (LOEC), and the ‚50% effective’ concentration (EC50) on specific growth rate (r), sexual reproduction, fertilization, resting egg production, and hatchability of resting eggs. Results showed that the lowest EC50 value of r, mixis, fertilization, and resting egg production of 1.4 μM for diazinon was 63 times lower than its 24-h LC50 of 88.4 μM, while for fenitrothion it was 66 times (3.5 and 229.8 μM, respectively). For isoprothiolane, the lowest EC50 value of r, mixis, fertilization, and resting egg production of 8.9 μM was 25 times lower than its 24-h LC50 of 220.7 μM, while for methoprene was 37 times (2.7 and 100.8 μM, respectively). In all pesticides, hatching rate of resting eggs consistently gave the lowest EC50 values which is about 2–40 times lower than the lowest EC50 of r, mixis, fertilization, and resting egg production. Hatchability of resting eggs therefore is the most sensitive parameter in detecting effects of pesticides exposure in rotifer B. plicatilis.  相似文献

Trametes versicolor 1 was shown to grow on phenol as its sole carbon and energy source. The culture growth and degradation ability dependence on culture medium pH value was observed. The optimal pH value of a liquid Czapek salt medium was 6.5. The investigated strain utilized completely 0.5 g/l phenol in 6 days. The dynamics of the phenol degradation process was investigated. The process was characterized by specific growth rate μmax 0.33 h−1, metabolic coefficient k = 4.4, yield coefficient Y x/s  = 0.23 and rate of degradation Q = 0.506 h−1. The intracellular activities of phenol hydroxylase (0.333 U/mg protein) and cis,cis-muconate lactonizing enzyme (0.41 U/mg protein) were demonstrated for the first time in this fungus. In an attempt to estimate the occurrence of gene sequences in T. versicolor 1 related to phenol degradation pathway a dot blot analysis with total DNA isolated from this strain was performed. Two synthetic oligonucleotides were used as hybridizing probes. One of the probes was homologous to the 5′end of phyA gene coding for phenol hydroxylase in Trichosporon cutaneum ATCC 46490. The other probe was created on the basis of cis,cis-muconate lactonizing enzyme coding gene in T. cutaneum ATCC 58094. The results of these investigations showed that T. versicolor 1 may carry genes similar to those of Trichosporon cutaneum capable to degrade phenol.  相似文献

The genetic variability and population genetic structure of six populations of Praecereus euchlorus and Pilosocereus machrisii were investigated. The genetic variability in single populations of Pilosocereus vilaboensis, Pilosocereus aureispinus, and Facheiroa squamosa was also examined. All of these cacti species have a patchy geographic distribution in which they are restricted to small areas of xeric habitats in eastern Brazil. An analysis of genetic structure was used to gain insights into the historical mechanisms responsible for the patchy distribution of P. euchlorus and P. machrisii. High genetic variability was found at the populational level in all species (P=58.9–92.8%, Ap=2.34–3.33, He=0.266–0.401), and did not support our expectations of low variability based on the small population size. Substantial inbreeding was detected within populations (FIS=0.370–0.623). In agreement with their insular distribution patterns, P. euchlorus and P. machrisii had a high genetic differentiation (FST=0.484 and FST=0.281, respectively), with no evidence of isolation by distance. Accordingly, estimates of gene flow (Nm) calculated from FST and private alleles were below the level of Nm=1 in P. machrisii and P. euchlorus. These results favored historical fragmentation as the mechanism responsible for the patchy distribution of these two species. The genetic distance between P. machrisii and P. vilaboensis was not compatible with their taxonomic distinction, indicating a possible local speciation event in this genus, or the occurrence of introgression events.  相似文献

Several reproductive triats in plants were studied in more than 200 populations of 61 wild species from diverse ecological conditions. As a result, it was found that there occur three distinct types of plants in the energy allocation patterns to reproductive structures (RA) and the propagule output per plant (PN), i.e. (1) the number of propagules per plant increases in response to the increase in RA (Type I), (2) the number of propagules decreases in response to the increase in RA (Type II), and (3) the RA remains constant despite the great differences in the propagule number per plant. A conspicuous trade-off relationship was also discovered to occur between the RA to a single propagule (RA) and the propagule output per plant (PN), such that log RA=logC−blot PN, or RA=C/PN b =CPN b , where C is a constant. The three different ranges ofb-values were recognized, i.e.b<1.0,b>1.0, andb=1.0, which correspond to Type I, Type II, and Type III, respectively. Summary The diversity of four esterase loci was studied electrophoretically in 690 individual spikes representing 12 populations of wild barley (Hordeum spontaneum C. Koch.) collected from central, peripheral and marginal regions of its distribution in Jordan. A minimum of 6, 10, 5 and 5 alleles were observed at the Est-1, Est-2, Est-4 and Est-5 loci, respectively. Est-2 and Est-4 were the most diverse loci (Hc=0.53±0.05 and 0.46±0.07, respectively). Est-5 was intermediate (Hc=0.33+0.07) and Est-1 was the lowest (Hc=0.22±0.04). Polymorphism was highest in the central populations (He=0.52±0.04), followed by the peripheral (He=0.40±0.05) and the marginal (He=0.22±0.05) populations. Average allelic diversity between (Gst=0.49) and within (Hs=0.51) populations reflects a high allelic differentiation among these populations. Log-linear analyses revealed that four two-locus terms and two three-locus terms were significantly associated (P<0.05). Geographical distances between populations were not significantly correlated with Nei's genetic similarity index (r=0.16; P<0.19). It is postulated that diversifying selection is a major factor in the population genetic differentiation of these esterase loci.  相似文献
