利用触角电位记录(EAG)技术,测定了小地老虎Agrotis ypsilon (Rottemberg) 雄蛾对性信息素标准化合物Z7-12:Ac(A)、Z9-14:Ac(B)、Z11-16:Ac(C)、Z5-10:Ac(D)和Z8-12:Ac(E)的EAG反应。结果表明:这些标准化合物均能引起EAG反应,其中组分A(Z7-12:Ac)引起的反应最强,为5.65 mV,组分B(Z9-14:Ac)和C(Z11-16:Ac)居中; 组分D(Z5-10:Ac)的EAG反应值最小,为2.50 mV。二元混合物、三元混合物、四元混合物和全组分的EAG反应较高,其EAG反应值均显著高于单组分的反应值。三元混合物ABC的反应值最高,与5头雌蛾腺体的正己烷浸提液的EAG值相当。在使用剂量为0.01 ng~100 μg反应内,小地老虎雄蛾触角对性信息素各组分及其混合物的剂量反应曲线大致呈“S”形。从不同日龄雄蛾对标准化合物的反应中,发现在羽化后第3天达到最高值,之后则随日龄增加EAG反应降低。  相似文献

Insects have a highly developed olfactory sensory system, mainly based in their antennae, for the detection and discrimination of volatile compounds in the environment. Electroantennogram (EAG) response profiles of five different insect species, Drosophila melanogaster, Heliothis virescens, Helicoverpa zea, Ostrinia nubilalis and Microplitis croceipes, showed different, species-specific EAG response spectra to 20 volatile compounds tested. The EAG response profiles were then reconstructed for each compound across the five insect species. Most of the compounds could be distinguished by comparing the response spectra. We then used a four-antenna array, called a Quadro-probe EAG, to see if we could discriminate among odorants based on the relative EAG amplitudes evoked when the probe was placed in plumes in a wind tunnel and in a field. Stable EAG responses could be simultaneously and independently recorded with four different insect antennae mounted on the Quadro-probe, and different volatile compounds could be distinguished in real time by comparing relative EAG responses with a combination of differently tuned insect antennae. Regardless of insect species or EAG amplitudes, antennae on the Quadro-probe maintained their responsiveness with higher than 1 peak/s of time resolution.  相似文献

Abstract The role of plant volatiles in host plant location of the leafminer Liriomyza sativae Blanchard was studied. Four types of antennal sensilla were identified on the funiculus by scanning electron microscopy: trichoid, basiconic, clavate and grooved sensilla. An olfactory pit, containing groups of sensilla, was present on the ventral side of the funiculus. No sexual difference was detected in sensilla diversity and distribution. In behavioural assays, both males and females were attracted by the odour of the bean Phaseolus vulgaris L. They had distinct EAG responses to the bean odour. No significant sexual difference was found in behaviour or EAG responses.
Electroantennograms were recorded from female L. sativae to 14 plant volatile compounds. The most distinct EAG responses were obtained for: (1) the general green leaf volatiles 1-hexanol (E)-2-hexen-1-ol, (E)-3-hexen-1-ol and its isomers, (Z)-3-hexen-1-ol, the acetate (E)-3-hexenylacetate and the aldehyde hexanal; and (2) limonene, a compound associated with tomato, which is a key host plant of this insect. Other volatile compounds associated with host plants, such as α-pinene, myrcene, β-caryophyllene, and eugenol did not elicit responses. The ability of this insect to locate a host plant appears to be augmented by the perception of a combination of host-specific and general green leaf volatiles. A modification of the EAG recording method of Dipteran species was provided.  相似文献

烟夜蛾和棉铃虫对高浓度烟草挥发物的电生理和行为反应   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
寡食性的烟夜蛾Helicoverpa assulta (Guenée)和广食性的棉铃虫H. armigera (Hübner)是夜蛾属Heliothis的两近缘种昆虫。主要的农作物中,棉花和番茄上极少发现烟夜蛾,而辣椒上几乎没有棉铃虫,只有烟草均为二者所嗜食,也唯独在烟草上它们可以稳定共存。为明确植物挥发物对昆虫寄主定向和选择行为的影响,本文运用触角电位(EAG)和风洞技术,测定了两种夜蛾的处女雌蛾、交配雌蛾及雄蛾对20种高浓度(0.1 mol/L)烟草挥发物的电生理和行为反应。结果表明:烟夜蛾和棉铃虫对测试的烟草挥发物均可产生EAG反应,而且都表现出绿叶气味>脂类和芳香化合物>单萜、倍半萜和杂环化合物的总体反应趋势;两种夜蛾对多数化合物的EAG反应既无显著的种内性别差异,也无显著的种间差异,表明二者嗅觉神经系统对寄主气味图谱的识别和感受能力具有一定的相似性,可对寄主植物的化学信息产生相同的“理解”;二者的行为反应结果与EAG反应结果基本一致,即两种夜蛾受到的嗅觉刺激与产生的行为反应具有统一性,结合两种夜蛾寄主范围的差异,推测烟草挥发物主要影响两种夜蛾的寄主定向行为,而寄主选择行为可能更依赖于二者与植物接触后对植物理化性质的评价过程。  相似文献

用自行组装的触角电位仪,测定了粘虫Mythimna separata雄蛾蛾龄对标准化合物顺-11-十六碳烯醛(Z11-16:A1d)、顺-9-十六碳烯醛(Z9-16:Ald)和十六碳醛(16:A1d)的EAG反应的影响,分析了雄蛾触角对3种标准化合物的剂量-反应关系,发现粘虫雄蛾对Zll-16,Ald和Z9-16:Ald的剂量-反应曲线呈现出典型的“S”型,并且反应阐值较低。而对16:A1d几乎没有反应。最为重要的是检测了粘虫雄蛾对雌蛾腺体提取物的EAG反应,反应值的大小与样品中所提取的雌蛾腺体数目成正比。通过检测粘虫雄蛾对羽化不同天数,以及同一天羽化、在暗期不同时辰提取的雌蛾腺体提取物的EAG反应,证实了粘虫雄蛾的反应曲线与雌蛾释放性信息素的时辰节律呈正相关。还比较了烟青虫和粘虫雄蛾对粘虫雌蛾腺体提取物的EAG反应,间接证实了粘虫雌蛾腺体提取物中可能含有次要组分Z9-16;A1d。  相似文献

电生理试验显示出:大螟Sesamia inferens(Walker)雄蛾触角对Z11-16:Ac(A)oZ11-16:OH(B)激起强烈的触角电位(EAG)反应,Z11-16:ALD?,E11-16:Ac(D),Z9-14:Ac(E)和Z7-12:Ac(F)四种化合物也能激起较强的EAG反应;A化合物的刺激阈比B高,此两种化合物5:5比例时,激起的反应最强烈。电生理的试验推测,雄蛾触角对A和B两种化合物的感受,是通过触角内两种不同类型的嗅觉感受器。A和B不同比例混合后,田间诱蛾试验证明:在9:1,8:2,5:5的比例时,其诱蛾量远远超过单独的A化合物;E加入A与B的混合物中,起抑制诱蛾的效果,上述试验表明,Z11-16:OH是大螟的性诱剂。  相似文献

Abstract. Human sweat samples were chemically fractionated into acid and non-acid components. The most abundant volatile compounds present in the fractions were identified by linked gas chromatography mass spectrometry. The acid fractions were found to be composed of a range of twenty aliphatic and three aromatic carboxylic acids ranging, on average, from 0.02 to 20 ig per ml of sweat sampled. Non-acid fractions were found to contain: 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-one, l-octen-3-ol, decanal, benzyl alcohol, dimethylsulphone, phenylethanol, phenol and 4-mefhylphenol, collectively amounting to 0.1 and 3 |ig per ml of sweat. The major component of sweat was found to be L-lactic acid which constituted from 1 to 5 mg/ml.
Using the intact antennae of the anthropophilic malaria vector mosquito Anopheles gambiae Giles, the peripheral olfactory activities of compounds identified in the sweat fractions were investigated by electroantennography (EAG). Short-chain saturated carboxylic acids, methanoic, ethanoic, propanoic, butanoic, pentanoic and hexanoic acids were found to elicit significantly larger EAG responses than longer chain saturated carboxylic acids from female An.gambiae. For a given dose the largest amplitude EAG response was elicited by methanoic acid. Pentanoic acid elicited larger EAG responses than either butanoic or hexanoic acids. Two non-acidic compounds, l-octen-3-ol and 4-methylphenol, were found to elicit significant dose-dependent EAG responses from female An.gambiae. 1 -Octen-3-ol elicited larger EAG responses than 4-methylphenol for a given dose, but both compounds elicited smaller EAG responses than the same dose of C]-C6straight-chain aliphatic carboxylic acids. The possible behavioural significance of the EAG-active compounds identified in human sweat samples is discussed.  相似文献

The electrophysiological and behavioural responses of male Sesamia nonagrioides Lefèbvre (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) to several synthetic blends of its sex pheromone components were investigated. Electroantennogram (EAG) recordings showed the greatest response to a 77:8:10:5 blend of the four compounds found in the female glands: (Z)-11-hexadecen-1-yl acetate, (Z)-11-hexadecen-1-ol, (Z)-11-hexadecenal and dodecyl acetate. A logistic equation was fitted to the dose-response data and differences in relative EAG responses were analysed by deriving five parameters of this equation. Flight responses of males were also evaluated in a wind tunnel where the proposed blend (77:8:10:5) also elicited the best response. Field tests confirmed the laboratory findings as the 77:8:10:5 blend captured more S. nonagrioides males than other pheromone mixtures and showed more selectivity for male S. nonagrioides over other noctuid species, Discestra trifolii Rottenberg and Lacanobia oleracea L., but not for Mythimna unipuncta Haworth, a species with a sex pheromone composition almost identical to that of S. nonagrioides.  相似文献

Several phorid fly species were introduced to the southern United States for biological control of the invasive imported fire ants, Solenopsis richteri (Black), Solenopsis invicta (Red), and their Hybrid S. richteri×S. invicta (Hybrid). It has been previously reported that the Jaguariuna biotype of Pseudacteon tricuspis and the Formosan biotype of Pseudacteon curvatus could distinguish among the three fire ant species with greater preference for Hybrid and Red fire ants. We hypothesized that phorid flies might use host derived chemical cues to differentiate ant species. To determine possible differential olfactory sensitivity of phorid fly species to different fire ant species, we compared electroantennogram (EAG) and behavioral responses of both sexes of P. tricuspis and P. curvatus to body extracts of Black, Red and Hybrid fire ants. As worker sizes of Black and Hybrid fire ants used in this study were much larger than that of Red fire ant (the average weight for Black, Red and Hybrid workers was 1.707, 0.863, 1.223mg per ants, respectively), at doses of 0.01, 0.1, 1 worker equivalent, body extracts of Black and Hybrid fire ant elicited significantly greater EAG response in both sexes of P. tricuspis than that of Red fire ant. Similarly, the EAG response in female P. curvatus to body extract of Black fire ant was significantly greater than to body extract of Red fire ant. To eliminate worker size influence on EAG response in phorid flies, we conducted a second EAG study using a dose of 1mg ant equivalent (body extract from 1mg of worker). No difference in EAG responses was recorded to body extract obtained from the same amount of workers among the three fire ant species (we consider viable Hybrid fire ant as a species in this paper), suggesting that worker size differences contributed to difference in EAG response in the first EAG study. In both EAG studies, male P. tricuspis showed significantly greater EAG responses than male P. curvatus to all three fire ant species. In four-way olfactometer bioassay, worker body extracts of all three fire ant species were equally attractive to P. tricuspis and P. curvatus (i.e. both phorid fly species did not show any preferences among the three fire ant species). Together, the results of the EAG and behavior studies suggest that parasitic phorid flies utilize host derived non-polar compounds from worker ants extracted out by hexane for host location but not for host preference, since both fly species are not able to distinguish among the body extracts of the three fire ant species. Future study will investigate possible involvement of polar compounds and/or non-chemical cues in mediating host preference by phorid flies.  相似文献

Electroantennogram (EAG) responses to the aphid sex pheromone components, (1R,4aS,7S,7aR)-nepetalactol and (4aS,7S,7aR)-nepetalactone, and a plant volatile, (E)-2-hexenal, were investigated at three different positions (5/6th, 4/5th and 3/4th inter-segmental regions) along the antennae of four different morphs in two host-alternating aphid species, Aphis fabae Scopoli and Rhopalosiphum padi (L.). Position-dependent and morph-specific EAG responses were elicited in both species. The nepetalactol and nepetalactone isomers elicited large EAG responses at all three recording positions in males of both species, such that primary rhinaria as well as secondary rhinaria appeared to respond. Asexual female morphs showed relatively smaller EAG responses to these compounds. The secondary rhinaria, which have been reported as sex pheromone receptors in males, were not very different in their number and distribution between gynoparae and alate virginoparae, but the gynoparae showed significantly larger EAG responses to nepetalactol and nepetalactone. The alate virginoparae showed EAG responses that were similar to those of apterous virginoparae, which lack secondary rhinaria. Taking the EAG response profiles together with the distribution of the secondary rhinaria, it is suggested that the function of secondary rhinaria differs between the morphs. Secondary rhinaria appear to detect sex pheromone components in males and gynoparae but not in the alate virginoparae. If they are functional in the latter morph, they are likely to play a role in detecting specific, but as yet unknown, volatile compounds. Some 30 plant volatiles were tested but none evoked an EAG response that could be allocated to the secondary rhinaria. In contrast to the very different EAG response profiles to the pheromone compounds between morphs, EAG responses to (E)-2-hexenal were similar in all forms and both species. These findings suggest that this plant volatile was detected only by the two primary rhinaria, which are common to all morphs. The present study showed that EAG responses were not a simple summation of receptor potentials between recording and reference electrodes in aphids. The localised distribution pattern of olfactory receptor neurones around the recording electrode was also likely to contribute to the EAG responses.  相似文献

The electroantennogram (EAG) response of male moths of the European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis) to their two pheromone components, (Z)- and (E)-11-tetradecenyl acetates, were studied. The EAG amplitude of the fast initial phase was approximately proportional to the antennal length. Local EAG responses were obtained along the length of the antenna with multiple electrodes. Response-interaction studies indicated a unique spread of the EAG response in a proximal direction in the antenna. A possible mechanism of the EAG summation was considered. The EAG response characteristic was similar for both (Z)- and (E)-11-tetradecenyl acetate along the length of the antenna.  相似文献

为筛选适宜的苹毛丽金龟Proagopertha lucidula (Faldermann)引诱剂化学物质, 对已报道的金龟子科两性引诱剂单一组分进行了触角电位(EAG)和Y型嗅觉仪中的嗅觉反应测定。结果表明: 在10 μg刺激剂量下测试的11 种植物挥发物中, 只有顺-3-己烯-1-醇、香叶醇、茴香脑和丁香酚有明确的EAG反应值, 其他7种化合物具有弱反应值。剂量反应曲线表明, 具有明确的EAG活性的4种化合物激发的反应强度与化合物的剂量呈正相关。在Y型嗅觉仪中, 顺-3-己烯-1-醇、香叶醇、茴香脑和丁香酚4种化合物在1, 10, 100 μg剂量下的行为反应百分率都显著高于对照溶剂正己烷, 且雌雄之间无显著差异。该研究结果可为开发苹毛丽金龟田间引诱剂奠定基础。  相似文献

The morphology and ultrastructure of the olfactory sensilla on the antennae and maxillary palps were investigated through scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and their responses to five volatile compounds were measured using electroantenogram (EAG) and electropalpogram (EPG) techniques in the pumpkin fruit fly, Bactrocera depressa (Shiraki; Diptera: Tephritidae). Male and female B. depressa displayed distinct morphological types of olfactory sensilla in the antennae and maxillary palps, with predominant populations of trichoid, basiconic, and coeloconic sensilla. Basiconic sensilla, the most abundant type of olfactory sensilla in the antennae, could be further classified into two different types. In contrast, the maxillary palps exhibited predominant populations of a single type of curved basiconic sensilla. High‐resolution SEM observation revealed the presence of multiple nanoscale wall‐pores on the cuticular surface of trichoid and basiconic sensilla, indicating that their primary function is olfactory. In contrast, coeloconic sensilla displayed several longitudinal grooves around the sensillum peg. The TEM observation of individual antennal olfactory sensilla indicates that the basiconic sensilla are thin‐walled, while the trichoid sensilla are thick‐walled. The profile of EAG responses of male B. depressa was different from their EPG response profile, indicating that the olfactory function of maxillary palps is different from that of antennae in this species. The structural and functional variation in the olfactory sensilla between antennae and maxillary palps suggests that each plays an independent role in the perception of olfactory signals in B. depressa.  相似文献

Abstract. Electroantennogram (EAG) responses of immature aphids were investigated for 30 plant volatile compounds in third‐ and fourth‐stadium nymphs of the black bean aphid, Aphis fabae. The nymphs were destined to develop into adult alate (winged) virginoparae. The EAG response profiles were similar to those previously reported in the adults. Among the compounds tested, hexanonitrile elicited the largest EAG responses in both nymphal stadia, corresponding to previously reported results with adults. Six‐carbon aliphatic compounds showed relatively higher EAG activities in the nymphs but, in contrast, (E)‐2‐hexenal, benzaldehyde, α‐pinene and β‐pinene, and citronellal elicited relatively smaller EAG responses in nymphs than adults. Although overall EAG response profiles were similar between the third and the fourth stadia for the majority of the volatiles, four aldehyde compounds, hexanal (E)‐2‐heptenal, 2‐hydroxybenzaldehyde and citronellal, showed relatively higher EAG activities in the third than in the fourth stadium. The present study indicates that aphid nymphs possess a functional olfactory receptor system before the antennae are fully developed morphologically and physiologically.  相似文献

Abstract  Electroantennogram responses (EAGs) to 39 plant volatiles from Aphis glycines, A. gossypii and Myzus persicae were recorded. The olfactory system of these three aphid species differentially responded to green leaf, aromatic, mono-and sequiterpene chemicals. The EAG depolarizatin to green leaf chemicals and their isomers were more pronounced than to terpenes, alcohols and aldehydes, 6 carbon atom compounds being the most effective. It was shown that there was certain difference in the olfactory spectra of these three aphid species to plant volatiles. Higher responses in A. glycines and A. gossypii were elicited by the leaf aldehydes and esters than by the corresponding alcohols, which are in contrast with those in M. persicue . The activity of aphid olfactory system was related to molecular structures of the compounds. The responses to saturated alcohols and aldehydes were higher than those to unsaturated. The responses of spring emigrants of A. glycines to terpene derivatives (alcohols, aldehydes and esters) were higher than those of A. gossypii , but were lower to terpene hydrocarbons. The dissimilarity in olfactory spectra of the aphid species reflected the evolution of their host plant selection specificity. In the evolution, their chemosensory system adapted to perceive host plants. The shapes of the EAGs evoked by the various components were consistently different, with the slowest recovery for geraniol, 1-decanol and (±)-β-cit-ronellol, and ware related to number of carbon atoms in straight chain saturated alcohols.  相似文献

Douglas fir seed chalcids females oviposit specifically into Douglas cones which they locate using olfactory and visual cues. We have tested whether this specialization was correlated with a specialized sensitivity towards cone volatiles. Field collected adults were presented a series of pure volatile chemicals. Electroantennogram responses (EAG) were recorded to generally occurring terpenoids and straight chain alcohols and aldehydes found in flowers and plant leaves. Monoterpenes identified in Douglas cone headspaces (alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, 3-thujene, alpha- and beta-phellandrene, gamma-terpinene and myrcene) elicited lower EAG responses than fatty acid derivatives corresponding to green odours. The EAG response profile of females differed significantly from that of males. Females were very sensitive to hexanol-1, heptanal, (Z)-3 hexenol-1, terpineol and terpinen-4-ol. Male responses were significantly higher to humid air, nerolidol, thujan-4-ol, hexanal, carvacrol, piperitone and farnesol. Several compounds (Z- verbenol, carvone, jasminol, geraniol, nerol and eugenol) elicited long lasting electrophysiological responses (over 5 s) in both sexes.  相似文献

【目的】红火蚁 Solenopsis invicta 与棉蚜 Aphis gossypii 存在兼性共生关系,红火蚁可能利用棉蚜危害诱导棉花释放的挥发物定位棉蚜。本研究将测试红火蚁工蚁对棉花挥发物的嗅觉和行为反应。【方法】使用Y型管实验测试红火蚁工蚁对棉花气味的行为反应;以红火蚁告警信息素2-乙基-3,5(6)-二甲基吡嗪为阳性对照,测试红火蚁工蚁对不同剂量(100, 10, 1 和0.1 μg)的9种棉花挥发物组分[α-蒎烯、β-蒎烯、β-石竹烯、( E, E )-4,8,12-三甲基-1,3,7,11-十三碳四烯(TMTT)、( E )-4,8-二甲基-1,3,7-壬三烯(DMNT)、辛醛、6-甲基-5-庚烯-2-酮、顺-3-己烯基乙酸酯和水杨酸甲酯]的触角电位反应;再利用Y型嗅觉仪测试这些挥发物对红火蚁工蚁的行为选择影响。【结果】结果表明,受棉蚜为害的棉花较健康棉花对红火蚁工蚁具有极显著的引诱效果。红火蚁对9种挥发物组分的EAG反应随着剂量升高而升高。各化合物在100 μg剂量时EAG反应值最大,其中,工蚁对水杨酸甲酯和6-甲基-5-庚烯-2-酮这两个化合物反应最强。在行为选择实验中,化合物水杨酸甲酯、6-甲基-5-庚烯-2-酮和DMNT对红火蚁工蚁均具有显著的引诱效果。【结论】棉蚜诱导的棉花挥发物中水杨酸甲酯和6-甲基-5-庚烯-2-酮对红火蚁有显著的引诱效果,这2种化合物可能在红火蚁定位棉蚜、建立共生关系中起着关键的作用。  相似文献

The olfactory stimuli from the maturation feeding‐plant, Rosa multiflora Thunb., and larval‐host plant, Populus deltoides, of the longhorned beetle, Batocera horsfieldi (Hope), were investigated by using TCT‐GC/MS (Thermal desorption and cold trap, and GC/MS) and electroantennogram recordings (EAG). A total of 20 plant compounds were identified from plant headspace volatile, including aliphatic, aromatic and terpenoid compounds. Five compounds were common to both plants. Eight compounds eliciting strong EAG response were E‐3‐hexenyl acetate, 3‐carene, 1‐penten‐3‐ol, 3‐pentanol, Z‐2‐penten‐1‐ol, hexanal and E‐2‐hexenal. Female and male B. horsfieldi exhibited broad overlap in their EAG responses to individual plant odour, and there was no clear pattern of difference between responses of female and male antennae to different compounds. Mating status had little effect on the EAG responses of females.  相似文献

Abstract.  A pheromone sprayer and an electroantennogram (EAG) are used to study sensory adaptation in the antennae of male obliquebanded leafrollers, Choristoneura rosaceana and oriental fruit moths, Grapholita molesta , to the main pheromone compounds ( Z )-11-tetradecen-1-yl acetate ( Z 11-14:Ac) and ( Z )-8-dodecen-1-yl acetate ( Z 8-12:Ac), respectively. The atomization of 0.125, 0.25, 0.5 or 1 μL ethanol min−1 into the EAG air delivery tube at an airflow rate of 2 L min−1, with resultant concentrations of 6.25, 12.5, 25 or 50 × 10−5μL ethanol mL air−1, respectively, does not affect the EAG response of C. rosaceana or C. molesta after a 30-min exposure period. The atomization of 0.125 μL min−1 of a solution of 8 mg Z 11-14:Ac mL−1 ethanol into the EAG air delivery tube at an airflow rate of 2 L min−1, with a resultant concentration of 0.5 ng pheromone mL−1 air, reduces the EAG response of C. rosaceana by approximately 70% after a 15-min exposure period. An additional 15 min of exposure to pheromone does not result in increased sensory adaptation. Antennae recover 32% of the lost responsiveness when exposed to pheromone-free air for 15 min. The atomization of 0.125 μL min−1 of a solution of 8 mg Z 8-12:Ac mL−1 ethanol into the EAG air delivery tube at an airflow rate of 2 L min−1, with a resultant concentration of 0.5 ng pheromone mL−1 air, reduces the EAG response of C. molesta antenna by approximately 80% after a 15- or 30-min exposure period. The antennae of this species do not recover responsiveness when exposed to pheromone-free air for 15 min.  相似文献
