Summary Studies were conducted in 22 non-calcareous soils (India) to evaluate various extractants, viz. (6N HCl, 0.1N HCl, EDTA (NH4)2CO3, EDTA NH4OAc, DTPA+CaCl2 and 1M MgCl2) to find critical levels of soil and plant Zn for green gram (Phaseolus aureus Roxb.). The order of extractability by the different extractants was 6N HCl>0.1N HCl>EDTA (NH4)2CO3<EDTA NH4OAc DTPA+CaCl2>1M MgCl2. Critical levels of 0.48 ppm DTPA × CaCl2 extractable Zn, 0.80 ppm EDTA NH4OAc extractable Zn, 0.70 ppm EDTA (NH4)2CO3 extractable Zn, and 2.2 ppm 0.1N HCl extractable Zn were estimated for the soils tested. The critical Zn concentration in 6 weeks old plants was found to be 19 ppm. The 0.1N HCl method gave the best correlation (r=0.588**) between extractable Zn and Bray's per cent yield, while with DTPA+CaCl2, it was slightly low (r=0.542**). The DTPA + CaCl2 method gave significant (r=0.73**) correlation with plant Zn concentration. The 0.1N HCl gave the higher correlation with Zn uptake (r=0.661**) than DTPA (r=0.634**) 6N HCl and 1M MgCl2 method gave nonsignificant positive relationship with Bray's per cent yield. For noncalcareous soils apart from the common use of DTPA+CaCl2, 0.1N HCl can also be used for predicting soil available Zn. The use of 0.1N HCl would be much cheaper than DTPA and other extractants used in the study.  相似文献

Studies on sulphur in vertisols   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Summary Some soil and plant test methods were evaluated for predicting response of soybean crop (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) to S application in vertisols. Morgan's reagent, 500 ppm P containing Ca(H2PO4)2.H2O and KH2PO4 solutions, 0.5N NH4OAc+0.25N HOAc and 0.15% CaCl2 were found to be suitable extractants for measuring available soil S. The critical limits of extractable S were 9.0 ppm by Morgan's reagent, 10.0 ppm by phosphate solutions, 8.0 ppm by 0.5N NH4OAc +0.25N HOAc and 14.0 ppm by 0.15% CaCl2. Morgan's reagent was regarded as superior to other soil test methods in view of its high relationship with S uptake by plants, A values and relative yield. Critical S concentration in soybean plants varied with age. It was 0.15% and 0.185% for 36 and 60 days old plants, respectively. The critical N/S ratio on the other hand appeared to be constant at about 16.5 during vegetative growth period. Constancy of critical N/S ratio in plants was attributed to the near constancy of N/S ratio in plant proteins. There was highly significant relationship between response of soybean to S and to N, supporting the conclusion of some earlier workers that any soil showing large responses to N may not be supplying adequate S from the mineralization of soil organic matter.  相似文献

Summary Phosphorus in soils from plantation of red pine (Pinus resinosa Ait.) was determined using six extractants: 0.002N H2SO4 (pH 3.0); 0.025N HCl+ +0.03N NH4F; 0.5N NaHCO3 (pH 8.5);N NH4OAc (pH 4.8); anion exchange resin (Dower –2, Cl-form); H2O. Correlations of extractable P with Al- and Al-+Fe-P indicated that these fractions are the dominant forms of inorganic P in most of the soils.Uptake of P by corn and Monterey pine seedlings grown in greenhouse culture was correlated with soil P extracted by the different methods. The most successful of the extractants for predicting P uptake was resin extractable P; the simple correlation coefficients were 0.811 and 0.609 for pine and corn respectively. P uptake by pine correlated significantly with 0.002N H2SO4 P (r=0.679),N NH4OAc P (r=0.443), H2O P (r=0.549) and Al-+Fe-P (r=0.532) while P uptake by corn correlated with 0.002N H2SO4 P (r=0.579), H2O P (r=0.477) and organic P (r=0.460). Per cent P in pine seedling tops correlated significantly with 0.002N H2SO4, resin andN NH4 OAc extractable P. Multiple regressions which included silt+clay and organic P improved correlations of some soil tests with P uptake in corn and pine seedlings respectively.Research supported by the School of Natural Resources, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, Univ. of Wisconsin, Madison, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and FAO Fellowship to the senior author.  相似文献

Pot experiments were conducted to assess the lime and phosphorus requirements ofLeucaena leucocephala (LAM.) De Wit grown on three acid soils (Ultisols) from southeastern Nigeria. Liming and phosphorus application significantly enhanced growth ofL. leucocephala. Ammakama soil showed best effect to phosphorus application, while acidity problems were more pronounced on Onne and Isienu soils. High lime rate (2000 ppm) reduced plant growth in Isienu soil probably due to nutrient imbalance. Potassium, manganese and zinc levels in the plants were reduced with increasing lime rates. On Onne and Isienu soils plant tops correlated better with total acidity and extractable Al+3 level than with soil pH-H2O.  相似文献

Summary Potassium in wetland rice soils from five different locations in the Philippines was analyzed using the electroultrafiltration (EUF) technique and by extraction withN NH4 acetate (pH 7). The soils contained low exchangeable K and responded to K application. The K soil test values were calibrated against the rice response to K application under field conditions. EUF extractable soil K correlated highly significantly with the rice yield response to K fertilizer, whereas the NH4 acetate extractable K (exchangeable K) did not. Under limiting K supply in soils, rice yield depends more on the EUF-K than on the exchangeable K. Maximum grain yields were obtained when the EUF-K values after harvest and before wetland preparation were above 30 ppm K.  相似文献

Studies were carried out to examine factors which might influence the distribution of S in Ghanaian soils. Nine soil profiles developed over granitic rocks, three each representing the upper slope (US), middle slope (MS) and lower slope (LS) of catena in the evergreen high rain forest (ERF), semi-deciduous rain forest (SDF) and the interior savanna (ISAV) zone of Ghana were selected. The total S contents varied from 9 to 347 ppm; the average for all the surface and subsurface horizons was 141 ppm and for subsoils 105 ppm. The contents also varied according to: (1) the ecological zone as follows: ERF 0) SDF>ISAV and (2) the topographic position: US>MS>LS. The total S was closely correlated with organic C and total N in the surface and subsurface horizons (r=0.931*** and 0.941*** respectively). Inorganic sulfate was generally higher in the subsoils than in the surface and subsurface horizons of the ERF and SDF profiles whereas the opposite was the case in the ISAV profiles. Based on the critical value of 6 ppm in surface soils, all the savanna soils would be considered S deficient. The total organic S, which constituted from 56 to over 95% of the total S in the profiles, was significantly correlated with total N both in the surface and subsurface horizons (N:S ratio=9.1:1) and in the subsoils (N:S ratio=7.6:1). Fractionation of the organic S showed that HI-reducible S ranged from 14 to 117 ppm in the surface and subsurface horizons (average 55 ppm, equivalent to 47% of the total organic S) and from 2 to 169 ppm (average 55 ppm, equivalent to 60% of the total organic S) in the subsoils. The C-bonded S ranged from 6 to 223 ppm (average 73 ppm, equivalent to 57% of the total organic S) in the surface and subsurface horizons and from 1 to 83 ppm (average 29 ppm, equivalent to 32% of the total organic S) in the subsoils. HI-reducible S was significantly correlated with organic C (r=0.805***) and total N (r=0.845***) in the surface and subsurface horizons only whereas C-bonded S was significantly correlated with organic C and total N in both the surface and subsurface horizons and subsoils (r=0.870*** and 0.624*** respectively). The N:S ratios varied from 6.0 to 12.7 in the surface and subsurface horizons and from 0.5 to 27.3 in the subsoils. However the N:S ratio was less variable within the profile than the C:S ratio. The C:N:S ratios varied considerably within the profile and among the different soils but they fall within the range of values reported world-wide.  相似文献

Although considerable progress has been made in relating extractable soil S to plant S availability, most of these studies determined the extractable soil S at the beginning of the experiment to use as an index of soil S status. This bears little or no relationship to the S taken up by plants during the entire growing season. The present study investigates the changes in extractable soil S with time and relates these to changes in plant S uptake. Six soils with different long-term fertiliser histories (0, 21, 42 kg of S as superphosphate ha–1 applied since 1952) and animal camping treatments (camp and non-camp) were used in two pot systems (with and without plants). Carrier-free 35SO4–S was added to the soils, to provide the information on the transformations of recently added S between the different extractable S forms in soils and whether these transformations could predict plant-available S. The soils were pre-conditioned and then transferred to the glasshouse, where one set of pots were planted with perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) while the other set was left uncropped. Periodic plant harvests and soil samplings at four weekly intervals were conducted over a period of 20 weeks to determine plant S uptake and amounts of extractable soil S and 35S forms using five extractants. Same extractions of soil S and 35S were conducted for the initial soils. Results showed that HI-reducible and total soil S extracted by CaCl2, KH2PO4 and by KCl at 40°C were utilised significantly by plants but not those extracted by NaHCO3 and NaOH extractants. However, after the 8th week, plants continued to take up S even though levels of S extracted from the soil by CaCl2, KH2PO4 and by KCl at 40°C remained low and unchanged. These results suggest that soil S taken up by plants after the 8th week period originated directly from the mineralisation of soil organic S from S pools other than those present in the extractable soil S forms. Similar results were shown by 35S data, thereby confirming the complexity of determining plant S availability based on soil S extraction methods.  相似文献

Summary The absorption and transport of Cu were studied in perennial ryegrass grwon on 21 soils under controlled environment conditions. Neither the concentration, nor the total amount, of Cu in the shoots was related to available Cu in the soils as assessed by extraction with 0.05M EDTA, 0.005M DTPA, or 1.95 per cent HNO3. The concentration in the roots and, more especially, absorption per unit weight of root (i.e. μg Cu g dry wt−1) were, however, highly correlated with available soil Cu. This suggests that, unless the extent of exploitation of the soil by roots is taken into account, measurements of available Cu will not be effective in predicting uptake by plants. On average, 63 per cent of the Cu absorbed by the roots was retained in the roots, and variation in the proportion retained was related to the transport of nitrogen from roots to shoots. On some soils the concentrations of N and Cu in the shoots were significantly correlated, and variation in N concentration accounted for a considerable proportion of the variance in the Cu concentration at later harvests. The relative importance of the measured soil (pH, organic matter) and plant (dry weight, N content) factors changed markedly over 6 successive harvests.  相似文献

Sulfur availability in twenty selected surface soils (0–22 cm), which varied in both physical and chemical properties and sampled under cultivated and uncultivated management in the various ecological zones of Ghana, was studied. Texture varied from coarse sand to clay, with 16–85% sand and 10–51% clay. Organic C varied from 0.45 to 2.24% and total N from 0.034 to 0.215%; soil pH (0.01M CaCl2) from 3.69 to 7.43 and total S from 44 to 273 ppm. Inorganic sulfate formed 2.3 to 14.8% of the total S, HI-reducible S 4.4 to 28.2, C-bonded S 4.4 to 28.2 and unidentified organic S 12.7 to 63.2%. Sulfur availability was assessed by chemical extraction methods and electroultrafiltration technique as follows: (i) extraction with Ca(H2PO4)2·H2O solution containing 500 ppm P, (ii) extraction with 0.1M LiCl and (iii) electroultrafiltration (EUF) at 80°C, 400 V for 10 min and also on seven of the soils the standard EUF fractionation procedure of Neméth. Ca(H2PO4)2-extractable S was not significantly correlated with LiCl-extractable S nor with any of the EUF values. LiCl-extractable S was not significantly correlated with sulfate extractable by and EUF?1+2+3 fractions (r=0.911**). Dry matter yield of oat seedlings and EUF?1+2+3 fractions (r=0.911**). Dry matter yield of oat seedlings was not correlated with any of the availability indexes. Total S uptake was significantly correlated with LiCl-extractable S (r=0.629** without S and 0.729** with S applied) and with EUF-80°C, 400 V/10 min (r=0.561**), EUF-1 (r=0.953***) and EUF-2 (r=0.912**). On all the soils, more S was taken up by oat plants than could be accounted for by the inorganic S and S mineralized from organic S during an incubation period of 4 weeks.  相似文献

Summary The relative efficiency of seven extractants for estimating available Cu in sierozem soils of Haryana was studied. Bulk samples of 15 soils ranging in neutral normal amm. acetate extractable Cu from 0.12 to 0.20 ppm were subjected to screen-house study. The quantities of Cu extracted with neutral normal amm. acetate, Morgan’s reagent (pH 4.8)N ammonium acetate (pH 4.8), 0.1N HCl, 0.02M EDTA, critrate-EDTA and DTPA from soils were examined for their correlation with responses of maize in terms of Bray’s percentage yield and percentage Cu uptake. The highest coefficient of correlation was obtained between Cu extractable with neutral 1N NH4OAc and Bray’s per cent yield and per cent Cu uptake. All other methods showed lower values of correlation. The critical level of available Cu estimated with use of neutral normal NH4OAc was 0.16 ppm. Below this value, responses to applied Cu can be expected.  相似文献

Summary In a pot experiment with 26 calcareous soils, the critical limit of Fe in soils and plants was evaluated. DTPA-extractable Fe was found significanty correlated with Bray's per cent yield in rice. The Fe2+ (iron) in rice and lentil was also found significantly correlated with DTPA-extractable Fe as well as Bray's per cent yield showing thereby the superiority of Fe2+ (iron) in leaves over DTPA-extractable soil Fe to differentiate Fe responsive soils from non-responsive ones. The total Fe content in plant tissues does not seem correlated with the occurrence of Fe deficiency. The threshold values of DTPA-extractable soil Fe and Fe2+ (iron) in rice and lentil leaves were 6.95, 44 and 74.5 ppm, respectively below which appreciable responses to Fe application were observed. The optimum Fe level for these soils was found to be 10 ppm in which the dry matter yield response in all the 19 rice soils and 16 lentil soils ranged from 14.28 to 56.16 (Av. 25.75%) and 13.31 to 53.97 (Av. 22.47%), respectively.  相似文献

Nitrogen (N) resorption from senescing tissues enables plants to conserve and reuse this important nutrient. As such, it is expected that plant species adapted to infertile soils could have a higher N-resorption efficiency (percentage reduction of nitrogen between green and senescing tissues) and/or higher N-resorption proficiency (absolute reduction of nitrogen in senescing tissues) than those adapted to fertile soils. To test this hypothesis, we investigated the relationships among soil characteristics (total N, nitrate-N, ammonium-N, pH and moisture) and N resorption in Stipa kryloviiRoshev., a species occurred widely in natural grasslands of northern China. N contents in green and senescing tissues were 6.7±0.1 and 3.3±0.1 mg g–1, respectively. The mean value of N-resorption efficiency was found to be 72.1%. The N-resorption efficiency in S. kryloviiwas independent of soil characteristics. The N-resorption proficiency in S. kryloviiwas dependent on soil nitrate- and ammonium-N, but it was relatively independent of soil total N. The N-resorption proficiency was negatively correlated with soil pH and moisture. There was a positive correlation between N concentration in green tissues and resorption efficiency. However, N-resorption efficiency was not correlated significantly with N concentration in senescing tissues. These results indicate that the intraspecific variation in N resorption of Stipa kryloviiRoshev. is associated with soil regimes and that higher N resorption on N-poor soils is an adaptive strategy for S. kryloviito maximize N use under conditions of limited N supply.  相似文献

We examined the 10-day response of soil microbial biomass-N to additions of carbon (dextrose) and nitrogen (NH4NO3) to water-amended soils in a factorial experiment in four plant communities of the Chihuahuan desert of New Mexico (U.S.A.). In each site, microbial biomass-N and soil carbohydrates increased and extractable soil N decreased in response to watering alone. Fertilization with N increased microbial biomass-N in grassland soils; whereas, fertilization with C increased microbial biomass-N and decreased extractable N and P in all communities dominated by shrubs, which have invaded large areas of grassland in the Chihuahuan desert during the last 100 years. Our results support the hypothesis that the control of soil microbial biomass shifts from N to C when the ratio of C to N decreases during desertification.  相似文献

Litterfall and nutrient returns in red alder stands in western Washington   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Summary Litterfall was collected over 1 year from eight natural stands of red alder growing on different sites in western Washington. The stands occurred at various elevations and on different soils, and differed in age, basal area, and site index. Most litterfall was leaf litter (average 86 percent). Amounts of litterfall and leaf litter varied significantly (P<0.05) among the sites. Average weights of litterfall and leaf litter in kg ha–1 yr–1, were 5150 and 4440, respectively. Weight of leaf litter was not significantly (P<0.05) related to site index, stand age, or basal area. The sites varied significantly (P<0.05) in concentrations of all elements determined in the leaf litter, except Zn. Average chemical concentrations were: N, 1.98 percent; P, 0.09 percent; K, 0.44 percent; Ca, 1.01 percent; Mg, 0.21 percent; S, 0.17 percent; SO4–S, nil; Fe, 324 ppm; Mn, 311 ppm; Zn, 53 ppm; Cu, 13 ppm; and Al, 281 ppm. There were significant correlations between some stand characteristics and concentrations of some elements, and among the different chemical components of the leaf litter. Important correlations were found between stand age and P concentration (r=–0.84,P<0.01); weight of leaf litter and P concentration (r=0.74,P<0.05); weight of leaf litter and K concentration (r=0.71,P<0.05); concentrations of N and S (r=0.81,P<0.05); and concentrations of Fe and Al (r=0.98,P<0.01). Returns of the different elements to the soil by leaf litter varied among the different sites. Average nutrient and Al returns, in kg ha–1 yr–1, were: N, 82; Ca, 41; K, 19; Mg, 8; S, 7; P, 4; Fe, 1; Mn, 1; Al, 1; Zn, 0.2, and Cu, <0.1.  相似文献

The effects of soil acidity on the growth and N2-fixing activity of white clover in seven acid topsoils and subsoils of New Zealand were investigated using a glasshouse experiment. The application of phosphate (Ca(H2PO4)2) to the soils resulted in very large increases in white clover growth on all soils. The application of phosphate, as well as increasing P supply, also decreased 0.02M CaCl2-extractable Al levels, but had little effect on exchangeable Al levels.Where adequate phosphate was applied, increasing rates of lime (CaCO3) resulted in increased plant growth on most soils. N2[C2H2]-fixing activity was increased by the first level of lime for one soil, but generally remained approximately constant or declined slightly at higher rates of lime. Up to the point of maximum yield, white clover top weight was more highly correlated with 0.02M CaCl2-extractable soil Al than with exchangeable Al or pH. At pH values greater than 5.5, plant yield declined on some soils, apparently because of Zn deficiency. The data suggest that white clover is unlikely to be affected by Al toxicity at 0.02M CaCl2-extractable Al levels of less than about 3.3 g g–1. However, there were differences between soils in apparent plant tolerance to 0.02M CaCl2-extractable Al, which appeared to be caused by differing C levels in the 0.02M CaCl2 extracts.  相似文献

The effect of 3 different species of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on the growth of Stylosanthes guianensis (Aubl.) Sw. cultivated in a sterilized acid and dystrophic soil (Quartzipsament), with 4 levels of lime (0; 0.27; 0.63 and 1.10 meq Ca2+/100 g air-dried soil, as Ca(OH)2) and 2 P levels (0 and 20 mg P/kg soil, as KH2PO4) was evaluated under greenhouse conditions. Plants were harvested 40, 60, and 80 days after planting. Stylosanthes guianensis was highly mycotrophic, especially in soil without P fertilization. Mycotrophism was highest in plants inoculated with Acaulospora scrobiculata in soil receiving no P fertilizer and with 0.63 meq Ca2+/100 g air-dried soil. Shoot growth increment was as high as 5129% at the third harvest. Inoculation with Glomus macrocarpum presented intermediate results, whereas inoculation with Gigaspora margarita had no significant effect on plant growth. Root per cent colonization and shoot dry weight, as well as root percent colonization and shoot to root ratio were significantly correlated. The occurrence of S. guianensis in very acid and dystropic soils, containing toxic levels of Al3+, requires the association with VAM fungi for the plant tolerate such conditions.  相似文献

Incubation experiments were carried out to evaluate the feasibility of extracting phosphorus from soil by embedding iron oxide-impregnanted filter paper strips (Pi strips) in soils having a wide range in pH, texture, and extractable-P contents. Under flooded conditions, the amount of P extracted by the Pi strips increased with the period of submergence and embedding time of the Pi strips. Under unsaturated conditions, the Pi strips were found to extract P from soils over a wide range in moisture conditions; however, keeping the soil at moisture level between saturation and field capacity was found to result in maximal sorption of P by the strips. An embedding time of 16 h was found to be adequate.Phosphorus extracted by embedding Pi strips in soil columns for 16 h at field capacity moisture level correlated significantly with P extracted by shaking the soil with 0.01 M CaCl2 solution and a Pi strip for 16 h in the laboratory (r=0.94**). The P extracted by embedding Pi strips correlated best with Bray 1 P in acid soils (r=0.97**) and with Olsen P in alkaline and calcareous soils (r=0.96**). The results of the studies demonstrate the feasibility of developing a nondestructive method of monitoring changes in plant-available P in situ under field conditions.  相似文献

Forest biogeochemical cycles are shaped by effects of dominant tree species on soils, but the underlying mechanisms are not well understood. We investigated effects of temperate tree species on interactions among carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and acidity in mineral soils from an experiment with replicated monocultures of 14 tree species. To identify how trees affected these soil properties, we evaluated correlations among species-level characteristics (e.g. nutrient concentrations in leaf litter, wood, and roots), stand-level properties (e.g. nutrient fluxes through leaf litterfall, nutrient pools in stemwood), and components of soil C, N, and cation cycles. Total extractable acidity (aciditytot) was correlated positively with mineral soil C stocks (R 2  = 0.72, P < 0.001), such that a nearly two-fold increase in aciditytot was associated with a more than two-fold increase of organic C. We attribute this correlation to effects of tree species on soil acidification and subsequent mineral weathering reactions, which make hydrolyzing cations available for stabilization of soil organic matter. The effects of tree species on soil acidity were better understood by measuring multiple components of soil acidity, including pH, the abundance of hydrolyzing cations in soil solutions and on cation exchange sites, and aciditytot. Soil pH and aciditytot were correlated with proton-producing components of the soil N cycle (e.g. nitrification), which were positively correlated with species-level variability in fine root N concentrations. Soluble components of soil acidity, such as aluminum in saturated paste extracts, were more strongly related to plant traits associated with calcium cycling, including leaf and root calcium concentrations. Our results suggest conceptual models of plant impacts on soil biogeochemistry should be revised to account for underappreciated plant traits and biogeochemical processes.  相似文献

Microbial biomass nitrogen was measured in unamended (dry) and wetted soils in ten shrubland and grassland communities of the Chihuahuan desert, southern New Mexico, by the fumigation-extraction method. Microbial biomass-N in dry soils was undetectable. Average microbial biomass-N in wetted soils among all plant communities was 15.3 μg g-1 soil. Highest values were found in the communities with the lowest topographic positions, and the minimum values were detected in the spaces between shrubs. Microbial biomass was positively and significantly correlated to soil organic carbon and extractable nitrogen (NH4 + + NO3 -). In a stepwise multiple regression, organic carbon and extractable nitrogen accounted for 40.9 and 5.6%, respectively, of the variance in microbial biomass-N among all the samples. Among communities, the soil microbial biomass was affected by the ratio of carbon to extractable nitrogen. Our results suggest a succession in the control of microbial biomass from nitrogen to carbon when the ratio of carbon to nitrogen decreases during desertification.  相似文献

The effects of litter incorporation and nitrogen application on the properties of rhizosphere and bulk soils of tea plants (Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze) were examined in a pot experiment. Total of 8 treatments included four levels of tea litter additions at 0, 4.9, 9.8, and 24.5 g kg–1 in combination with two N levels (154.6 mg kg–1 and without). After 18 months of growth the rhizosphere soil was collected by removing the soil adhering to plant roots and other soil was referred to as bulk soil. The dry matter productions of tea plants were significantly increased by N fertilization and litter incorporation. The effect of litter was time-depending and significantly decreased the content of exchangeable Al (Alex, by 1 mol L–1 KCl) and Al saturation at 9 months after litter incorporation whereas soil pH was not affected, although the litter contained high Al content. After 18 months, the contents of extractable Al by dilute CaCl2, CuCl2 + KCl, NH4OAC, ammonium oxalate and sodium citrate (AlCaCl2, AlCu/KCl, AlNH4OAC, AlOxal, and AlCit respectively) and Alex, were not affected by litter application, except that of AlCaCl2 in the rhizosphere soil which was decreased following litter additions. Nitrogen fertilization with NH4 + (urea and (NH4)2SO4) significantly reduced soil pH, the contents of exchangeable Ca, K, Mg and base saturation while raised extractable Al levels (AlCaCl2, AlCu/KCl, AlNH4OAC, and Alex). In the rhizosphere soils exchangeable K accumulated in all treatments while exchangeable Ca and Mg depleted in treatments without litter application. The depletions of Ca and Mg were no longer observed following litter incorporation. This change of distribution gradients in rhizosphere was possibly due to the increase of nutrient supplies from litter decomposition and/or preferable root growth in soil microsites rich in organic matter. Lower pH and higher extractable Al (AlCaCl2, Alex, and AlNH4OAC) in the rhizosphere soils, regardless of N and litter treatments, were distinct and consistent in all treatments. Such enrichments of extractable Al in the rhizosphere soil might be of importance for tea plants capable of taking up large amounts of Al.  相似文献
