LaOBr:Yb3+/Er3+ nanofibers were synthesized for the first time by calcinating electrospun PVP/[La(NO3)3 + Er(NO3)3 + Yb(NO3)3 + NH4Br] composites. The morphology and properties of the final products were investigated in detail using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS), X‐ray diffractometry (XRD) and fluorescence spectroscopy. The results indicate that LaOBr:Yb3+/Er3+ nanofibers are tetragonal in structure with a space group of P4/nmm. The diameter of LaOBr:Yb3+/Er3+ nanofibers is ~ 147 nm. Under the excitation of a 980‐nm diode laser, LaOBr:Yb3+/Er3+ nanofibers emit strong green and red up‐conversion emission centering at 519, 541 and 667 nm, ascribed to the 2H11/2, 4S3/24I15/2 and 4 F9/24I15/2 energy‐level transitions of Er3+ ions, respectively. The up‐conversion luminescent mechanism of LaOBr:Yb3+/Er3+ nanofibers is advanced. Moreover, near‐infrared emission of LaOBr:Yb3+/Er3+ nanofibers is obtained under the excitation of a 532‐nm laser. The formation mechanism of LaOBr:Yb3+/Er3+ nanofibers is proposed. LaOBr:Yb3+/Er3+ nanofibers could be important up‐conversion luminescent materials. White-light-tunable LaMgAl11O19:x%Tb3+, y%Eu3+ series phosphors were prepared using the gel-combustion method. The structure and luminescence properties were studied, and the energy transfer of Eu3+ and Tb3+ in the LaMgAl11O19 system was also discussed. The results showed that the LaMgAl11O19 matrix exhibited strong emission in the blue-light region under the excitation of ultraviolet light, which resulted in conditions suitable for the preparation of white-light-tunable phosphors. The emission spectra of LaMgAl11O19:2%Tb3+, y%Eu3+ (y = 2%–9%) series phosphors were obtained through optimization experiments. It could be seen from the CIE diagram that by adjusting the doping quantities of Eu3+ and Tb3+ in the LaMgAl11O19 host, multicolor luminescence and white light emission in a single host could be achieved. By calculating the energy transfer efficiency and critical distance between Eu3+ and Tb3+ series phosphors, the mechanism of energy transfer between Tb3+ and Eu3+ was found to be the interaction between electric quadruples.  相似文献

KLaSiO4:Tb3+ phosphors were synthesized using the sol–gel method. The structure and luminescence properties of the materials were characterized using X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, thermogravimetry–differential thermal analysis, fluorescence spectra and calculated Commission Internationale de l'éclairage coordinates. The results showed that the material had a hexagonal structure, and that doping of Tb3+ did not change the crystal structure of KLaSiO4. FTIR spectroscopy confirmed the existence of stretching vibrations of Si–O, bending vibrations of Si–O–Si, and asymmetric tensile vibrations of Si–O in KLaSiO4. The excitation spectrum of the sample consisted of 4f7→5d1 broadband absorption and the characteristic excitation peak of Tb3+, the excitation peak at 232 nm belongs to the spin allowed 7FJ7DJ transition of Tb3+, the excitation peak at 268 nm belongs to the spin forbidden 7FJ9DJ transition of Tb3+, and the absorption band of 7FJ7DJ transition is split. Under excitation at 232 nm, the emission peak of the sample was composed of the 5D47FJ (J = 6, 5, 4, 3) energy level transition of Tb3+. The highest emission peak is located at 543 nm, which belongs to the 5D47F5 transition and emits green light. Concentration quenching occurred when the Tb3+ doping concentration was greater than 1% mol, the quenching mechanism was an electric dipole–electric dipole action. When the ratio of citric acid to total metal ions was 1:1 and the annealing temperature was 800°C, the surface defects of the phosphors were greatly reduced, the quenching effect was reduced, and the luminous intensity reached the maximum.  相似文献

A series of Ca2Mg0.25Al1.5Si1.25O7:Ce3+/Eu2+/Tb3+ phosphors was been prepared via a conventional high temperature solid‐state reaction and their luminescence properties were studied. The emission spectra of Ca2Mg0.25Al1.5Si1.25O7:Ce3+,Eu2+ and Ca2Mg0.25Al1.5Si1.25O7:Ce3+,Tb3+ phosphors show not only a band due to Ce3+ ions (409 nm) but also as a band due to Eu2+ (520 nm) and Tb3+ (542 nm) ions. More importantly, the effective energy transfer from Ce3+ to Eu2+ and Tb3+ ions was confirmed and investigated by emission/excitation spectra and luminescent decay behaviors. Furthermore, the energy level scheme and energy transfer mechanism were investigated and were demonstrated to be of resonant type via dipole–dipole (Ce3+ to Eu2+) and dipole–quadrupole (Ce3+ to Tb3+) reactions, respectively. Under excitation at 350 nm, the emitting color could be changed from blue to green by adjusting the relative doping concentration of Ce3+ and Eu2+ ions as well as Ce3+ and Tb3+ ions. The above results indicate that Ca2Mg0.25Al1.5Si1.25O7:Ce3+,Eu2+/Tb3+ are promising single‐phase blue‐to‐green phosphors for application in phosphor conversion white‐light‐emitting diodes. Barium‐gadolinium‐titanate (BaGd2Ti4O12) powder ceramics doped with rare‐earth ions (Eu3+ and Tb3+) were synthesized by a solid‐state reaction method. From the X‐ray diffraction spectrum, it was observed that Eu3+ and Tb3+:BaGd2Ti4O12 powder ceramics are crystallized in the form of an orthorhombic structure. Scanning electron microscopy image shows that the particles are agglomerated and the particle size is about 200 nm. Eu3+‐ and Tb3+‐doped BaGd2Ti4O12 powder ceramics were examined by energy dispersive X‐ray analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, photoluminescence and thermoluminescence (TL) spectra. Emission spectra of Eu3+‐doped BaGd2Ti4O12 powder ceramics showed bright red emission at 613 nm (5D07F2) with an excitation wavelength λexci = 408 nm (7F05D3) and Tb3+:BaGd2Ti4O12 ceramic powder has shown green emission at 534 nm (5D47F5) with an excitation wavelength λexci = 331 nm ((7F65D1). TL spectra show that Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions affect TL sensitivity. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Charge compensation is an effective way to eliminate charge defects and improve the luminescent intensity of phosphors. In this paper, a new green‐emitting phosphor ZnB2O4:Tb3+ was prepared by solid‐state reaction at 750°C. The effects of Tb3+ doping content and charge compensators (Li+, Na+ or K+) on photoluminescence properties of ZnB2O4:Tb3+ were investigated. X‐ray powder diffraction analysis confirms the sample has cubic structure of ZnB2O4. The excitation and emission spectra indicate that this phosphor can be excited by near ultraviolet light at 378 nm, and exhibits bright green emission with the highest peak at 544 nm corresponding to the 5D47F5 transition of Tb3+. The critical quenching concentration of Tb3+ in ZnB2O4 host is 8 mol%. The results of charge compensation show that the emission intensity can be improved by Na+ and K+. Specifically, K+ is the optimal one for ZnB2O4:Tb3+. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

KNaSO4 microphosphor doped with Ce,Gd and Ce,Tb and prepared by a wet chemical method was studied using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence (PL) characterization. KNaSO4 has a 5‐µm particle size detected by SEM. KNaSO4:Ce3+,Tb3+ showed blue and green emission (at 494 nm, 557 nm, 590 nm) of Tb3+ due to 5D47FJ (J = 4, 5, 6) transitions. KNaSO4:Ce3+,Gd3+ showed luminescence in the ultraviolet (UV) light region at 314 nm for an excitation at 271 nm wavelength. It was observed that efficient energy transfer took place from Ce3+ → Gd3+ and Ce3+ → Tb3+ sublattices indicating that Ce3+ could effectively sensitize Gd3+ or Tb3+ (green emission). Ce3+ emission weakened and Gd3+ or Tb3+ enhanced the emission significantly in KNaSO4. This paper discusses the development and understanding of photoluminescence and the effect of Tb3+ and Gd3+ on KNaSO4:Ce3+. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In the Ba9Lu2Si6O24 (BLS) host, Ce3+ shows cyan emissions peaking at 490 nm under 400 nm excitations. BLS:Tb3+ only can be effectively excited by 254 nm light and gives rise to green emissions at 553 nm. However, both the cyan and green emissions can be obtained in BLS:Ce3+,Tb3+ under 400 nm excitations due to effective energy transfers from Ce3+ to Tb3+. BLS:Mn2+ shows red emissions peaking at 610 nm under 414 nm excitations. By co‐doping Ce3+, Tb3+ and Mn2+, tunable full‐color emissions were obtained. The BLS:0.3Ce3+,0.6Tb3+,0.15Mn2+ single phosphor exhibits a white light with a high color rendering index of 85 and a correlated color temperature of 5480 K under 400 nm excitation.  相似文献

Yttrium aluminate (Y3A5O12) was doped with different rare earth ions (i.e. Gd3+, Ce3+, Eu3+ and/or Tb3+) in order to obtain phosphors (YAG:RE) with general formula,Y3‐x‐aGdxREaAl5O12 (x = 0; 1.485; 2.97 and a = 0.03). The synthesis of the phosphor samples was done using the simultaneous addition of reagents technique. This study reveals new aspects regarding the influence of different activator ions on the morpho‐structural and luminescent characteristics of garnet type phosphor. All YAG:RE phosphors are well crystallized powders containing a cubic‐Y3Al5O12 phase as major component along with monoclinic‐Y4Al2O9 and orthorhombic‐YAlO3 phases as the impurity. The crystallites dimensions of YAG:RE phosphors vary between 38 nm and 88 nm, while the unit cell slowly increase as the ionic radius of the activator increases. Under UV excitation, YAG:Ce exhibits yellow emission due to electron transition in Ce3+ from the 5d level to the ground state levels (2F5/2, 2F7/2). The emission intensity of Ce3+ is enhanced in the presence of the Tb3+ ions and is decreased in the presence of Eu3+ ions due to some radiative or non‐radiative processes that take place between activator ions. By varying the rare earth ions, the emission colour can be modulated from green to white and red. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

(Zn,Lnx)MoO4:Tb3+ (Ln = Y3+, Gd3+ and Lu3+) were prepared using the co‐precipitation method. Phase impurity, morphology and composition were investigated by power X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The experimental results show that crystal structure is not destroyed after doping an appropriate amount of Y3+, Gd3+ and Lu3+. EDS analysis reveals that Y, Gd and Lu have been successfully doped into ZnMoO4. In addition, the morphology of the phosphors is notably improved, exhibiting homogeneous dispersion morphology and irregular shapes of particle size ~ 0.5–1 µm. The luminescent intensity of (Zn,Lnx)MoO4:Tb3+ (Ln = Y3+, Gd3+ and Lu3+) phosphor is obviously higher than that of ZnMoO4:Tb3+ phosphor. The energy transfer process between trivalent rare earth ions indicates that the inert earth ions can act as an energy bridge from MoO42‐ to Tb3+. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

BackgroundBreast cancer reported in the young women exhibits high local and distant recurrence and a poor prognosis. Rare earth doped calcium phosphate phosphors have been extensively investigated due to their unique applications in biomedicine.MethodsIn the current study, Tb3+, Ce3+ doped Ca3(PO4)2 phosphor were prepared by hydrothermal method at 150 °C using citric acid as additive and characterized by PXRD, FT-IR, TG-DTA, EDX, TEM and PL techniques. The photoluminescence properties of Tb3+, Ce3+ doped Ca3(PO4)2 phosphor was investigated upon photo excitation at 240 nm. Antiproliferative activity was evaluated by MTT, BrdU proliferation, ELISA, Methylene blue and caspase-3 assays.ResultsCa3(PO4)2:Tb3+, Ce3+ phosphor exhibited needle like morphology with length and width ∼100-500 nm and ∼40-50 nm, respectively. It exhibited green emission at 550 nm corresponding to 5D47F5 transition with the CIE coordinates (x, y) as (0.284, 0.614). It also showed remarkable concentration dependent cytotoxicity against MCF-7 as well as MDA-MB 231 cells with negligible cytotoxicity compared to MCF-12A, a human epithelial healthy cell line. It reduced the proliferative index of both cell lines in a concentration dependent manner by inhibiting DNA synthesis and Ki67 protein. It also induced distinct apoptotic changes in the morphology of cell and nucleus and also activated the caspase-3 activity in breast cancer cell lines.ConclusionThe results suggest that Ca3(PO4)2:Tb3+, Ce3+ phosphor may be useful for therapeutic application in clinical settings.  相似文献

Single crystals of KCl doped with Ce3+,Tb3+ were grown using the Bridgeman–Stockbarger technique. Thermoluminescence (TL), optical absorption, photoluminescence (PL), photo‐stimulated luminescence (PSL), and thermal‐stimulated luminescence (TSL) properties were studied after γ‐ray irradiation at room temperature. The glow curve of the γ‐ray‐irradiated crystal exhibits three peaks at 420, 470 and 525 K. F‐Light bleaching (560 nm) leads to a drastic change in the TL glow curve. The optical absorption measurements indicate that F‐ and V‐centres are formed in the crystal during γ‐ray irradiation. It was attempted to incorporate a broad band of cerium activator into the narrow band of terbium in the KCl host without a reduction in the emission intensity. Cerium co‐doped KCl:Tb crystals showed broad band emission due to the d–f transition of cerium and a reduction in the intensity of the emission peak due to 5D37Fj (j = 3, 4) transition of terbium, when excited at 330 nm. These results support that energy transfer occurs from cerium to terbium in the KCl host. Co‐doping Ce3+ ions greatly intensified the excitation peak at 339 nm for the emission at 400 nm of Tb3+. The emission due to Tb3+ ions was confirmed by PSL and TSL spectra. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This article focuses on the effect of monovalent cation doping on the optical properties of rare earth (RE = Eu3+, Tb3+) co-doped Ca14Zn6Al10O35 which has been synthesized by a low temperature combustion method. Crystalline phase of the Ca14Zn6Al10O35 phosphor was examined and confirmed by X-ray diffraction measurement. Under near-ultraviolet light excitation Eu3+-doped Ca14Zn6Al10O35 phosphor exhibit characterization of Eu3+ emission bands that are located at a maximum wavelength (λmax) of approximately 470 nm and other peaks centred at 593 nm and 615 nm, respectively. With Tb3+-doped Ca14Zn6Al10O35 phosphor showing a green emission band centred at 544 nm under near-ultraviolet range. Furthermore, we studied the energy transfer process in Eu3+/Tb3+pair and enhancement in photoluminescence (PL) intensity with doping different charge compensation. Here we obtained the optimum PL emission intensity of the phosphor in broad and intense visible spectral range which may be significant for the fabrication of white light emitting diodes (WLEDs).  相似文献

Lanthanide ion‐pair (Eu3+/Tb3+, Dy3+/Tb3+, Sm3+/Tb3+ and Eu3+/Dy3+) codoped NaGdF4 nanocrystals using Ce3+ as the sensitizer were prepared via the polyol method. The nanocrystals with different codoped lanthanide ion‐pairs retain their individual optical properties and the combined spectra can be detected using single‐wavelength excitation at about 251 nm. The combined spectra intensity ratios can be adjusted through control of the doping ions molar ratios. Excited with a UV lamp at 254 nm, the as‐prepared nanocrystals in aqueous solution emit intense visible emissions of different colors. The nanocrystals were coated with SiO2, to make them biocompatible. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Terbium‐doped gadolinium orthovanadate (GdVO4:Tb3+), orthophosphate monohydrate (GdPO4·H2O:Tb3+) and orthovanadate–phosphate (GdV,PO4:Tb3+) powder phosphors were synthesized using a solution combustion method. X‐Ray diffraction analysis confirmed the formation of crystalline GdVO4, GdPO4·H2O and GdV,PO4. Scanning electron microscopy images showed that the powder was composed of an agglomeration of particles of different shapes, ranging from spherical to oval to wire‐like structures. The chemical elements present were confirmed by energy dispersive spectroscopy, and the stretching mode frequencies were determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. UV–visible spectroscopy spectra showed a strong absorption band with a maximum at 200 nm assigned to the absorption of VO43? and minor excitation bands assigned to f → f transitions of Tb3+. Four characteristic emission peaks were observed at 491, 546, 588 and 623 nm, and are attributed to 5D47Fj (j = 6, 5, 4 and 3). The photoluminescent prominent green emission peak (5D47F5) was centred at 546 nm. The structure and possible mechanism of light emission from GdV1?xPxO4:% Tb3+ are discussed. Here, the synthesis and luminescence analysis of the Tb3+-activated phosphor were reported. The CaY2O4 phosphors were synthesized using a modified solid-state reaction method with a variable doping concentration of Tb3+ ion (0.1–2.5 mol%). As synthesized, the phosphor was characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction analysis techniques for the optimized concentration of doping ions. The prepared phosphor showed a cubic structure, and FTIR analysis confirmed functional group analysis. It was discovered that the intensity of 1.5 mol% was higher than at other concentrations after the photoluminescence (PL) excitation and emission spectra were recorded for different concentrations of doping ions. The excitation was monitored at 542 nm, and the emission was monitored at 237 nm. At 237 nm excitation, the emission peaks were found at 620 nm (5D47F3), 582 nm (5D47F4), 542 nm (5D47F5), and 484 nm (5D47F6). The 1931 CIE (x, y) chromaticity coordinates showed the distribution of the spectral region calculated from the PL emission spectra. The values of (x = 0.34 and y = 0.60) were very close to dark green emission. Therefore, the produced phosphor would be very useful for light-emitting diode (green component) applications. Thermoluminescence glow curve analysis for various concentrations of doping ions and various ultraviolet (UV) exposure times was carried out, and a single broad peak was found at 252°C. The computerized glow curve deconvolution method was used to obtain the related kinetic parameters. The prepared phosphor exhibited an excellent response to UV dose and could be useful for UV ray dosimetry.  相似文献

A series of SrMoO4:Sm3+,Tb3+,Na+ phosphors was synthesized using a high‐temperature solid‐state reaction method in air. On excitation at 290 nm, SrMoO4:Sm3+,Tb3+ phosphor emitted light that varied systematically from green to reddish‐orange on changing the Sm3+ and Tb3+ ion concentrations. The emission intensities of SrMoO4:Sm3+ and SrMoO4:Sm3+,Tb3+ phosphors were increased two to four times due to charge compensation when Na+ was added as a charge compensator. The luminescence mechanism and energy transfer could be explained using energy‐level diagrams of the MoO42– group, Sm3+ and Tb3+ ions. SrMoO4:Sm3+,Tb3+,Na+ could be used as reddish‐orange phosphor in white light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) based on an ~ 405 nm near‐UV LED chip. This research is helpful in adjusting and improving the luminescence properties of other phosphors. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Rare earth ions (Eu3+ or Tb3+)‐activated Ca3 Ga2 Si3O12 (CaGaSi) phosphors were synthesized by using a sol–gel method. Photoluminescence spectra of Eu3+:CaGaSi phosphors exhibited five emission bands at 578, 592, 612, 652 and 701 nm, which were assigned to the transitions (5D07F0, 7F1, 7F2, 7F3 and 7F4), respectively, with an excitation wavelength of λexci = 392 nm. Among these, the transition 5D07F2 (612 nm) displayed bright red emission. In the case of Tb3+:CaGaSi phosphors, four emission bands were observed at 488 (5D47F6), 543 (5D47F5), 584 (5D47F4) and 614 nm (5D47F3) from the measurement of PL spectra with λexci = 376 nm. Among these, the transition 5D47F5 at 543 nm displayed bright green emission. The structure and morphology of the phosphors were studied from the measurements of X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy‐dispersive X‐ray analysis (EDAX) results. This paper focuses on an optical study of a Tb3+/Bi3+‐doped and Sm3+/La3+‐ doped Ca2Al2SiO7 phosphor synthesized using combustion methods. Here, Ca2Al2SiO7:Sm3+ showed a red emission band under visible light excitation but, when it co‐doped with La3+ ions, the emission intensity was further enhanced. Ca2Al2SiO7:Tb3+ shows the characteristic green emission band under near‐ultraviolet light excitation wavelengths, co‐doping with Bi3+ ions produced enhanced photoluminescence intensity with better colour tunable properties. The phosphor exhibited better phase purity and crystallinity, confirmed by X‐ray diffraction. Binding energies of Ca(2p), Al(2p), Si(2p), O(1s) were studied using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The reported phosphor may be a promising visible light excited red phosphor for light‐emitting diodes and energy conversion devices.  相似文献

In this work, we studied the luminescence properties of Tb3+‐doped MgPbAl10O17 green phosphor. To understand the excitation mechanism and corresponding emission of the prepared phosphor, its structural, morphological and photoluminescence properties were investigated. In general, for green emission, Tb3 is used as an activator and the obtained excitation and emission spectra indicated that this phosphor can be effectively excited by a wavelength of 380 nm, and exhibits bright green emission centered at 545 nm corresponding to the f → f transition of trivalent terbium ions. The chromaticity coordinates were (Cx = 0.263, Cy = 0.723). The impact of Tb3+ concentration on the relative emission intensity was investigated, and the best doping concentration was found to be 2 mol%. This study suggests that Tb3+‐doped MgPbAl10O17 phosphor is a strong candidate for a green component in phosphor‐converted white light‐emitting diodes.
