| Abstract: | A method that exchanges the endogenous lipids in the environment of the membrane-bound (Mg2+ + Na+)-ATPase of Acholeplasma laidlawii B with defined exogenous lipids has been devised. Results demonstrate that 99.9% of the original membrane lipids were replaced with phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidic acid. ATPase enzyme activity was maintained throughout the substitution procedure. |
