Abstract: | Bovine heart mitochondria synthesize stable and unstable RNA in vitro, and low doses of rifampicin inhibit this synthesis. The unstable RNA directs the incorporation of [14C]leucine into mitochondrial protein and has a half-life of 1.4 minutes. |
